I just finished my first service at this salon yesterday. My stylist for the day was Laurie C. I received a cut and basic all over color. The general vibe in this salon was cheerful. All the stylists seemed in good spirits and generally smiled when they made eye contact with you. I received assistance within a few seconds of approaching the front counter, where I was greeted by the woman who would be styling my hair. Though I arrived about 10 minutes before my scheduled appointment, I didn't wait longer than 3-5 minutes in the clean and well-appointed reception area before being escorted to Laurie's station. I was delighted to find, even the other patrons were pretty happy; which stands to reason when you're in an establishment full of friendly professionals, cookies, and coffee. My stylist, Laurie, was knowledgable and did an excellent job giving me the haircut I showed her in the photos I brought with me. I really appreciated her professionalism and good spirit in conversation. She also gave me a very good color and shampoo. This salon uses "Redkin" products for coloring. I found my scalp faired well and the smell did not overwhelm my respiratory issues. In fact, the smell in the salon was very easy on all of my allergies, compared with many I've gone to through the years. The only thing keeping me from giving this a full "5 Star Rating" was the price. I had called earlier and was quoted a price $20 less than I was charged. I understand not having seen my hair, it can be difficult to provide an entirely accurate quote and the person I spoke with gave this disclaimer. However, because I have a "pixie cut", which I explained on the phone, and only needed an all-over color-I wouldn't have expected the price to be so far off. Had it been closer to the originally quoted price I would have had more room to generously tip my stylist. That said, this salon offers better prices than others in the area of similar quality. I will be returning to this place to have my hair fixed again in the future and would recommend this place to my friends. read more

I was in town from Southern California and my bi-racial daughter and I were both in desperate need of getting our hair taken care of. Sheryl agreed to see us and even worked around our need to come in after 5pm. I was wildly impressed with her knowledge of how to properly condition and treat my daughter's hair. It isn't easy to find someone around here who knows the delicate balance of these beautiful curls. Sheryl also did a cut and color on my long (far past my shoulder blades) thick hair. The color is amazing!! Rich and shiny and we even played with some red undertones to frame my face. I could not be more impressed. The cut looks amazing; very modern and edgy. I went here on a whim and got a $20 dry haircut that I would describe as competent-but-lazy. I feel like I'm not too picky about my wavy hair, but I do require a few thoughtfully placed layers to keep it under control. I asked the stylist for a trim of the overall length and a corresponding trim of the layers. She mostly trimmed the overall length, which turned out fine, and then picked a little at the layers, which turned out bulky and hodgepodge. I can't complain about the cut for the price. If you are looking for a $20 cut, you don't mind having your hair cut dry, and you aren't too picky your style, go here! The staff seemed friendly; the place is new. However, if you are looking for a better than OK cut, you can get a much better, longer-lasting style elsewhere in Corvallis for $10-20 more. read more

Sherry Davis has been my stylist for over 10 years. My sister raved about her when I came up for a visit so I gave it a shot. well one cut and I was hooked. I dont even live in Corvallis but no matter where I've moved from Canada to San Diego, I always wait to have her cut my hair when I come up for a visit. she is that good. she was with another salon but when she switched to Seriously Sassy I followed her. she is simply the best stylist I've had. She listened to what i wanted and worked with me to get a cut that worked with my life style and believe me my thick wavy hair is not easy to cut and style. cuts dont just look good when she is done, they look good weeks down the line without any pampering. On top of it, she is super nice too. I actually buy gift certificates from her for for my family. What better gift!!! Seriously Sassy salon might not have the bells and whistles of a fancier salon but bottom line it's the cut that matters and not the fancy chairs in the waiting area. read more

I am a do-it-yourselfer, which got me into a little bit of a hair mess. My hair grows in a mousy brown color, so over the summer I lightened my hair to a yellowy blonde at home. My roots grew in and it looked pretty terrible. I went to Sheryl and she talked me through my ideas and ended up giving me a reverse ombre, leaving the ends blonde and dying the rest a nicer version of my natural shade. Not only that, but I was able to chat with her the whole time, she's very easy to have a conversation with and is super nice. This was my first experience with professional hair coloring, and I left thrilled with the results. I got my nails done in shellac by Chris less than a week ago and the polish is starting to crack. My nails also look like they are a month grown out. Very disappointed with the work that was done. Even if she is the "back-up" nail tech, she should be able to produce nails that look better than mine. Will not be returning. read more

Awful. My sister went to get a haircut from there asking for "bangs" and "a light trim". They chopped of 2 inches and gave her uneven 80's bangs, unblended so they stuck out like a sore thumb. When we went there all of the clients and "stylists" were over 40. Clearly, not for a modern haircut. I would like to recommend Epic Spa for a decent and very good quality haircut. Also, they charged $25 for my sister's terrible haircut, and when we called to remark and talk to them about the haircut, they were incredible rude. read more

I got my haircut on a Tuesday and they were able to get me in within two hours. I was cutting off a good four inches so I was really nervous but Laurie put me to ease instantly! She listened and asked questions to make sure I got what I wanted. At the time it was exactly what I wanted, nice and simple. But later that night I was feeling too proper with it and thought it needed some edge. I called the next day expecting an appointment later in the week but Laurie got me in right away! She fixed me up and now I super love my haircut! And she didn't charge me which was awesome. Needless to say I have found a hairdresser I love in Oregon. I will definitely go back and am recommending her to all my friends. Such a good price for an amazing cut. read more

As soon as I walked in I was concerned. I felt like I'd walked back in time (and not in a good way). The salon seemed dated and had nick-knacks scattered around like I'd walked into a thrift store, but the primary concern was that the ighting was dark and terrible. This may have been intentional and maybe some clients like the "homely" feel - personally I prefer my hair salons to appear clean, well maintained, safe and with appropriate lighting for cutting hair. Like a previous reviewer, I'm really not that picky about hairdressers so decided to keep an open mind and thought that perhaps even if the salon looked dingy the stylist could still be excellent. However, there were more worrying signs - curlers had been left switched on close to touching the wires of other curlers (since goodness knows when seeing as there were no other clients around) so I had to point that out to my stylist who thanked me for noticing and switched them off, the hair washing stations were very poor (you can't lie back in them properly, you have to sort of hoist yourself to a point where the stylist can make the water reach your hair and suspend your head there with nothing to rest on). In terms of the haircut itself, the staff didn't appear to know what they were doing. I seriously considered asking my stylist if she had been trained as a hairdresser, or was just covering as an emergency, but I really don't like to be rude so didn't say anything. At one point, my stylist stopped cutting my hair (dropping the piece of hair she was about to cut) to answer the phone (despite the fact that there was another member of staff there and I was the only client in the whole place). Later on she said she had cut her hand and hoped blood wasn't going to go everywhere but thinks she stopped in time so continued to cut my hair without checking. Throughout the cut she was asking me to check whether it was even and asked me to find my natural hair part (presumably things that hairdressers are trained to do). At the end, my hair was left as a frizzy mess (no leave-in products were put in before or after the cut, and she didn't offer to style it in any way - it was just a chop and go). Thankfully I was going straight home so didn't have to go anywhere with my hair looking so terrible. As to the quality of the cut, I will reserve judgement for a few days as my stylist did keep me updated on what she was doing and listened to me (which I appreciated) and did at least seem to try and fix the shape issue I had been having, albeit in an apparently haphazard/hodge-podge sort of way. Also on the plus side, my stylist was friendly and accommodating. Overall, however, I would suggest finding somewhere else. I chose to come here because it was close to my home and because their website was informative and well maintained, and the price seemed reasonable. Edit: As a followup, the cut itself is not bad, but I don't think I'd consider going there for anything more complicated than a trim. read more
