If this place is close to you, it's a great deal. Ask for the Yelp pricing. It was $30 less than other competitors. I only found out by doing one of those Yelp quote requests (from various competitors, did it sheerly by accident trying to make an appointment at a prior place I went to). It's a no frills place. No appointments. Walk-ins only. We were lucky in that the person before us was just finishing up when we arrived so we didn't have to wait too long. I inquired about a smog value quote ahead of time through Yelp and confirmed that walk-ins were ok! The attendant was friendly and confirmed that they were a STAR certified Smog Testing sight and by mere chance I had no one ahead of me and was seen right away. I saw that their waiting area is outside ahead of time thanks to other yelp photos, so be sure to bring a jacket! Honestly though the test was so fast that I didn't mind being outside. Getting a smog was super easy over here! I was promptly greeted by the service technician Merlin. He answered all of my questions, quoted me a great price, and once I gave him the GO, he started the work and I was in and out of there in maybe less than a 1/2 hour! I called a few smog places around Antioch after searching on Yelp when I decided on this shop. What stood out to me, was how friendly the woman on the phone was! Then when she told me the price I was impressed. On Yelp, there is a coupon for $30 off, but she mentioned there's a $40 off phone special, which is even better! I'm a baller on a budget right now so that got me real happy! It is first come first serve so I decided to go after 3 PM to check it out. When I got there, they just finished a car and I was next. How amazing was that? I walked into Chevrons and grabbed a water because it was pretty hot outside. There were two chairs, but no "waiting room". The gentleman who was doing the smogging, was very nice and said it wouldn't take too long and apologized for no "waiting room". I didn't mind at all. I went in for a smog and walked about a customer that will return. The techs were up front and explained what needed to be done, did their job, and my truck failed! The techs explained that the computer codes had recently been cleared so the state won't even run the test. He explained I needed to drive at least 100 miles at both city and highway speeds while also not using the AC. (What?). I drove 200 miles, brought it back in, and it passed with no issues and there was even a different tech. Friendly folks, efficient, honest, and I will bring my other vehicles in for certification. Needed a smog done on my SUV. The value here is superior as I was able to use their current discount to get my smog done at $59 out the door. I found that most places charge a little extra with SUVs but that is pretty much standard for most places. The customer service here is amazing.
