I booked my appointment by phone with Starla and explained my back and neck issues. She booked me with Cheryl. My experience was uncomfortable and painful. Cheryl was unable to adjust the headrest which put my neck in a painful tilt. She then rested her forearm on the back of my head even after I repeatedly told her it was painful. I asked to turn to my back because I was scared of what could happen to my neck. She was having trouble getting the right angle on my shoulder. She asked me to "hang my legs off the side." I began to move and she removed my blanket. I've been getting massages for over 30 years. This was awful and inappropriate. I reached out to Starla to explain my experience. She apologized. The issue is - I still see Cheryl practicing massage. Please protect yourself and don't see Cheryl or spend money at a place that doesn't hold there employees accountable or place patient care as the priority. read more

I'm so happy that I switched to All Star Massage and Spa from my last massage therapy spot because All Star is a much more rewarding experience! I wish I had found it sooner. From its friendly staff to the service, I always leave here feeling incredibly better. I wanted to find a new place for massage therapy as a Kaiser member and found All Star Massage and Spa in the Kaiser directory. When I contacted them, staff was able to call me back soon after, and this has always been the case when I've left messages to set up an appointment. What's even better is that patients can sign up for an online account through their portal and can schedule appointments right on the website, which is much easier for me since my schedule is always so busy. I lift weights and box, so my body is constantly sore and last year, I had a back injury after lifting. Therefore, I now go to massage therapy to help with lower back issues. Every appointment I've had at All Star has truly been a wonderful and personal experience. The therapist always asks where they need to work on and also massage other parts of my body that trigger my lower back. Since they know I'm a boxer, they also heavily work on my upper back and shoulders, which always feels so much better afterwards. I go here for an hour session and it goes by quickly. Soft music is played in the background and the room is kept cool. The setting is more of a spa than a medical facility, which was the case at my last place. I love coming here! I recommend anyone looking for massage therapy to check out All Star Massage and Spa, as it's clear that that staff really want to help relieve pain. Located in the Lake Bellevue area in an office building, parking is plenty and it's easy to find. I'm thankful for All Star Massage and Spa. read more

Everyone gives good to great massage but for the owner and massage therapist Star. She barely did a massage! She did not put in any effort in doing the service. She did not probably want to get fatigued, geez read more

Received gift card over holidays from husband; I booked massage with owner based on reviews via spa finder, I wish I had seen the reviews on yelp because they were spot on. Very little effort to focus on problem areas I described in lower back and was told, you need a different medical massage and for that we accept health insurance. They lost opportunity for repeat business since I felt no relief during and after massage. read more

Bad experience that I hoped to resolve with a call to the owner. Since she did nothing here is my review: Reserved a deep tissue massage. Arrived to meet my masseuse. His eyes were bloodshot and his arms were shaking. Rest of staff were gone for the day. I got to hear him talk about his rehab from vaping, his preference now for alcohol and his use of Prozac. All this while seemingly forgetting to give the massage. The owner should fix this before it becomes a $&$&show. I would have expected either a refund or a massage credit in the future. Basically I paid $100 to be some guys therapist. read more

Had a good experience here. I had never done a facial before, but they were super accommodating and knowledgeable about the products used and were very gentle. I had a smooth, hydrating facial and I felt super relaxed during my session! They also had calming music during my session, so it definitely fit the vibe! Note that this place is a bit hard to find, but parking is generous. read more

Just don't!... Not relaxing at all! Very cluttered!.The massage was underwhelming to say the least.

With all the benefits that having many businesses share a complex might bring, one downside is that it becomes hard to find organically find a place that provides a service you might want. This is definitely true in the many multi-use buildings and office parks that populate Bellevue. So I found this business not through an active search but through ClassPass (unsure if it is still available at the time of this post). Since I paid using ClassPass points, my experience might be different than someone who uses the services naturally. Location wise, it is one of the many buildings that surround Lake Bellevue ( I love sushi, crab pot, etc.). The unfortunate part of the lake is that the numbering system of the buildings makes no sense to the observer and you might be running around the lake to find the place you desire. My advice for this establishment is to go through the parking lot entrance near PumpHouse on NE 8th Street especially if you are not driving there. That way, you are close to the right building. (Aka not the side of the lake with Crab Pot). I knew of the building only because I had an eye appointment at the same place a while ago. If you are new, definitely give yourself time to fill out the medical forms. I was running late due to a last minute work project so I had to rush through that portion. On ClassPass, I didn't get an option to choose my masseuse. If you have certain feelings about services, I would call ahead to ask for particular things (gender, expertise, etc). I was placed in the room looking out somewhat towards the lake. I say somewhat because due to my position in the chair, I couldn't enjoy it to the max. The option exists to get a massage done on the lake itself but it wasn't available due to some technical difficulties. In terms of the massage itself, it was fine for me. I'm not an expert but the masseuse was receptive to going harder or softer in certain location. He found places I was tense that I didn't know about and worked them out. We talked about the places I wanted to work on in advance so we could focus on that. It was an overall fair experience. read more

I would give zero if I could. This is an unprofessional establishment with no empathy of people's medical conditions. I have had medical massages for years for my condition and this was the worst experience ever. I left with way more pain than I came in with, the therapist is just incompetent and doesn't know what she is doing. I personally think she didn't have the credentials to back her profession. read more

Got my eyelashes done by Sara at All Star Massage and Spa and love the results! I haven't gotten my eyelashes done in a while because they always look too fake on me, and wanted to try again. Sara had done eyelash/eyebrow tinting on me before and did great work so I decided to wait for my trip to Seattle (I moved to Fl) for Sara to do. She did an incredible job making them look super natural and pretty. I have been getting loads of compliments how natural they look and my friends all want to get them done now too! I love how everyone is always so friendly at All Star and help me feel relaxed. Thank you! read more

I had a fantastic experience with Rachel in the past. This review is for a different massage therapist, who unfortunately did not introduce themselves, so I don't have their name. I have had dozens of massages and this one sticks out as one of the worst, for so many reasons, but I'll list the top 3. 1 - The massage therapist used way too much oil and slathered it on haphazard. It got in my hair, in my ear, on my face, and I had to wipe it off before getting dressed. I immediately had to shower when I got home. 2 - their hands were sharp. I am not sure if it was nails or some sort of callous, but I was constantly being scratched and saw scratch marks on my neck when I got home. 3 - there was not much of a technique. They moved fast, did not balance it out side to side, and every movement felt very unintentional. It felt like they had no idea what they were doing and some of it made me worry I would be injured. I regret not stopping the massage, because I left feeling worse. I can't stress enough that I have had many massages with many therapists and while some have been just so-so, this was bad. read more

Place to go when you have muscle pain and need some relax/recovery. I've been here twice and had Monica for deep tissue massage. I made an appointment via classpass and paid 39 credits for combination (50 min) - I think the original price's $85. You can tip either with cash or card. They don't really force you to tip unlike other cheap massage shops, but you would appreciate her massage and want to tip. Lots of parking space. You can easily find the building with "Nine" and the shop is in the middle of hallway. I certainly loved Monica's magic-like deep tissue massage. I felt she's professional. The room was very private and relaxing. It was full body massage - from neck, back, to legs. Would love to go once a month. read more

We just discovered this wonderful little spa from my PCP Physician's referral for recommended medical massage. I recently had open heart surgery and Starla (the spa owner) has been amazing in accommodating my needs for a needed massage relief in my back, shoulders, neck and arms for post surgery. After just 2 appts, I feel so much better and feel very grateful to have found All Star Massage. Starla is kind, caring, a great listener, and an excellent massage therapist. The spa is tidy, the staff is efficient and the location on the lake is very relaxing with great views from the big picture windows in the rear relaxation room. read more

I've been here for facials twice now and both times have been amazing! Each facial was customized to my current needs (moisture, even skin tone, etc). Generally the facial starts with a cleanse, steam, extractions,, mask, tone, massage, moisturizer, and sunscreen. I always leave glowing! read more

I went here with high hopes after reading reviews. Unfortunately maybe medical massage isn't their specialty. I met with a massage therapist twice to receive massages and they didn't seem to help at all, I could barely feel anything, in fact. I mentioned that I would like a deeper massage, but it seemed like that was all she could do. I figured that was fine, maybe I'd try a different massage therapist, and I scheduled a different person with the online form, but when I got there for my appointment, it was the same woman, they had changed people on me without telling me. Overall the building it's in is kind of run down, but not terrible, but the facility itself actually smells kind of bad. Also the receptionist seems like she couldn't be less interested in you. This was my first experience with massage and it was extremely disappointing. read more

I was in need of a massage due to overdoing it at the gym. I scheduled an appointment with Jim for 90 minutes. I arrived and was greeted promptly. Jim interviewed me for the issues that I wanted taken care of and he did a quick physical assessment. During the massage he informed me that there were things that I should see my doctor about and that massage would not fix it. Once completed, I felt substantially better. I do appreciate him making the recommendation to see my doctor. I've been to some massage therapists and they recommend multiple appointments. I fully recommend Jim due his extensive background and fantastic massage therapy. read more

All Star is a little tricky to find (Google Maps took me to the wrong side of the lake) as it is located in an office building. It does overlook the lake which is nice if you're waiting in the waiting area (basic couches, coffee table, water, etc). It took me 4-5 visits to finally find someone that I liked and then when I did, she started cutting back on her appointments! This is also the first massage place that I've been (I've been getting massages for years since my insurance pays for them) that doesn't offer you water afterwards! I mean, I know I can get it myself, but every other place I've been to has the LMP waiting for you with a cup of water and are asking you how you feel. Here, when I come out, the LMP is back on their phone (which I don't mind, but isn't as professional as other places). I've only tried their massages so I can't speak of their other services but overall it's solid if you can find the right LMP for you. read more

I appreciate owner feedback to my reviews because it lets me know that want to take the time out to respond. Although, I appreciate this owner's feedback, my review ranks the same. Below is the owner response to my review: Thanks for your review. Interesting as most of our guests love the hidden oasis on Lake Bellevue - sure beats the mall for relaxing....Glad you enjoyed your time with your friend and your massage. Massage is our specialty. Although the restrooms are across the hall it usually isn't a big deal. We aren't a resort but a nice Day Spa to visit for a massage or Spa Package. We hope you'll return. read more

I enjoy coming here monthly for a massage. Starla does a great job. It's very relaxing. If you arrive early, they have a cozy waiting room overlooking the water. It's nice to unwind and get a relaxing massage. In such a busy hectic city it's nice to find a quiet spot near to home. read more

I hate writing such negative reviews, but this experience was far from positive. We purchased a Travelzoo deal for Valentine's Day, including a couples massage and Gourmet artisan chocolate truffles from Seattle Chocolates. It sounded great, and we were so excited to go! But although All Star was very flexible with scheduling, the massages and experience was only worthy of one star. Our room was tiled and every movement was very loud and disturbing for a "relaxing massage" experience. We felt our therapists didn't try to quiet their noises when placing the hot stones, moving positions or getting more towels/oils. They did apologize continuously, but again, the noise was quite unsettling to have to listen to during a "relaxing" treatment. Their chatter was frustrating, though it didn't last long into our appointment and to be fair, they didn't ask our preferences of communication. My therapist continued to forget where she placed towels and stones, so I ended up rolling on them or feeling lumps under me while on the table. His therapist hit his table while working, which sent it crashing across the tile and disturbed both of us. I try to receive massages regularly, and I always appreciate when therapists are responsive to particular requests. Although I requested attention to my neck, shoulders and quads, my All Star therapist primarily focused on my arms and feet. Truthfully, both of us felt we received hot stone rubs rather than massages. The work was minimal, and the experience was very disappointing given the price we paid. As for the truffles? We each received one Lindt truffle following the massage. Chocolate is chocolate, but we were a bit surprised to be handed them when the deal specifically noted another product. Overall, it was certainly not worth the price. I would not recommend this location to friends, family or Yelpers. It was a poor experience. EDIT: The owner of All Star reached out via Yelp and offered an apology as well as a complimentary massage with their interns. Although I appreciate her correspondence, I disagree that commenting on a customer's dissatisfied review with another customer's positive review is an appropriate approach. Unfortunately, first impressions and non-verbal communication have a tendency to stick with some of us. Personally, I think acknowledging each customer individually--without comparison--is most sincere. read more

This review has nothing to do with the quality of massages or facials available, but rather the rude receptionist. I've been calling massage providers all morning, since my midwife prescribed Prenatal Massage. At every place I have called (except this one), the receptionist has offered to check my insurance and call me back to let me know what my copay would be. At every place I've called, they have been very cheerful and happy to do it. When I called All Star Lake Spa, the receptionist was very rude, and said "Oh no, you have to do that yourself." When I told her that every other office offered to call for me, she was like "uh, no sweetie." SWEETIE? I'm pretty sure I'm older than this girl, so this was insulting. I won't be taking my business to any establishment that treats its customers this way. "All Star" is lacking 4 stars. read more

**THIS REVIEW IS FOR NAIL/MANICURE SERVICES ONLY** I have not experienced the massages and therapeutic services All Star offers. Those services may be better than what I experienced. I try not to rate places 1 star, and the only reason I am giving a 2 star for this review was the Bellevue location. First, I chose to go to All Star because I was given a gift certificate by a resident for $50. I had a Monday off and my Shellac badly needed to be re-done, so instead of going to my usual place in Redmond, I made an appointment at All Star. I spoke to a nice woman on the phone and although she was nice and helpful, she seemed a little confused. It was around 10am so maybe they were just opening? Anyway, made the appointment for noon. I get in (and its a little hard to find, not any signage that I can see, but at the back of the circle after Crab Pot) and the display shelves with products are cluttered at the bottom with empty storage boxes, purses, and just in general looks in disarray. The carpet seems old and it just looks a bit...drab? Not terrible, just not what I would expect for a "spa". I am led back to the back room and sat in a chair. The balcony overlooks Lake Bellevue so it looks relaxing. However, the room is left open and the rest of the staff is hanging out in the hallway, coming in during my service asking for things they cant find, chatting and cussing the whole time. Tried to ignore it. The polishes are brought into the room in what looks like an overnight bag (as if the spa doesn't have its own set but that these belong to the manicurist herself). The selection of polish is all big colors. No neutrals unless you want to go for clear. So I ask for a French tip. Easy and classic. I get the woman painting the tip on with the white polish and NOT cleaning up the lines. Even when I try to politely hint by saying (So do you take a paint brush and clean up the lines at the end?", she says, "nope." and I just sit back and let it happen. I opted for the "Spa Manicure" which consists of a hand scrub, hand massage and a paraffin wax. The scrub was not washed off my hands but "wiped" off with a moist towel leaving bits and pieces of the exfoliant under my nails (which were jagged as hell underneath after the manicure). The paraffin wax was nice and soothing. My hands did feel soft after but I spent so much time picking the crap out from under my nails that I really didn't notice until later. The manicure itself was awful. The total was $55 so I used my gift certificate and paid the other $5 out of pocket. I didn't have the heart to tell the woman how bad the job was, even after she told me she had been doing nails for 15 years. I left and drove straight to my normal little Vietnamese place and had them completely redone. So I ended up paying for something that should have been free, had it been done correctly the first time. I won't go back. I hate to be mean, truly, but I expect WAY more anywhere. Let alone in the middle of high class Bellevue. Again, their massage therapy services may be a ton better, but unfortunately after showing my co-workers the results, they have shredded their gift certificates. I guess the spa won't mind since they were pre-paid though. Anyway, that is my two cents. read more

I went to All Star Lake Spa for the first time as I had a Living Social Voucher for various services. Here is my review: * Location: I wasn't sure I was in the right place, as there are office buildings all around, however, being near downtown Bellevue made this nice and convenient. * Spa setting: do not expect a high end, trendy or modern setting. This spa is homier and more modest with assorted furniture. * Services: as part of my voucher, I received a paraffin treatment, facial, head massage and hot stone massage for $93 (regularly $187). * Technicians: in terms of skill, I found this varied between the 2 I had - 1 technician for the paraffin, facial, head massage and Theresa, the second technician for the hot stone massage. Frankly speaking, I was less than impressed by the technician who gave the paraffin treatment and facial but was satisfied with the head massage at least. Theresa on the other hand gave me the most amaaaazing hot stone massage! I've never had a hot stone massage before, which is odd since I've had so many massages, and it was FANTASTIC and the real reason I'm giving this review 2 stars! She was just outstanding and if I were just rating her, I'd give her 5 stars for sure!! I'm tempted to send my husband here for Theresa's hot stone massage for a special occasion as the rest of today I've felt so great! Price wise, I'm very happy I did not pay the $187 for the services/experience I had at All Star Lake Spa because it was not worth it. The living social voucher *might* have been about the right price for what I experienced today, but that credit goes to the masseuse and her hot stones. read more

I love All Star! Went there for mother 's day. Everyone I met was super sweet, but Starla really steals the show. As the owner, she not only has the ability to make you feel at home, she gives a killer massage. Killer in the most heavenly, ethereal sense. Rita did my facial which was also very relaxing. The spa itself has a cozy boutique feel, with a lounge overlooking the lake. The rooms are dimly lit and mine had calm beach waves and seagulls playing in the background. The building itself is difficult to find, and the bathroom is located in the hallway. So, it's not perfect. If you're looking for perfection you should probably spend some time with God. Back here on earth, specifically at all-star, you'll find people who are kind, and who care a whole lot about making meaningful connections with their clientele. Too much alliteration. Sorry, I was raised by elementary school teachers. read more

I bought a groupon for a "toning massage". I called to make an appointment and after reading through lots of reviews I had decided on requesting Helen. I was told Helen doesn't do those types of massages and so I asked who does. Long list of names were given and the only one I had recognized was Starla so I picked her. I was just walking to my car to go to my appointment when I get a call from them. They mistakenly thought my appt was a half hour earlier and apologized. They called for some other reasons but I forget why. I got there and mentioned my name was Paula and there happened to be a massage therapist standing behind me named Paula which seemed to confuse everyone for a moment. I then mentioned my appt was with Starla and it was Starla I was talking to. She said no, you're appointment is with Joanie. I was confused because that was not who I requested but oh well. It turns out the massage is actually called a Synergie Toning massage which I had never heard of and no it is not like any massage you have ever had before. You strip down and put on this skin tight white thin spandex one piece suit, lay down and proceed to get vacuumed all over. It was the most odd massage I've ever had. It's supposed to be good for removing cellulite which I don't think I have any problem with since I'm underweight. It's also supposed to help with increasing circulation, removing toxins and stimulate lymphatic system which all sounds good to me. It was just really unexpected and it was hard to relax. At first I thought the music was a little too loud but then they turned the vacuum (synergie machine) on which was rather loud and it drowned out most of the music. I don't think synergie toning massages are my thing and will probably avoid them in the future. read more

This review is really not on All Star Lake Spa, but one massage therapist who has been kneading me to a huge pile of goo for the last 2-3 years: Theresa the Superstar! I don't want to sound like a creep, but she is the only reason I keep going back to this place. I love her, and she is just fantastic in so many ways. She is super maternal, professional, funny, knowledgeable, and excellent at what she does! (Have I told you I love her?) The spa itself is located in a business complex. It is small yet cozy. I like the staff there, and other massage therapists are wonderful as well. (Theresa is above and beyond the bestestest massage therapist in the entire universe though...) read more

Got an excellent massage from Rachel yesterday. Her technique was second to none and she did a really fantastic job. Location is a bit strange (in an office building) but the inside of the place is nice. $65 for a one hour massage and worth every penny. Only complaint- my wife mentioned the free hot stone Yelper deal and none of the LMP's or receptionist knew what we were talking about. Kind of a downer since that was one of the big draws to the place. I'm not a fan of hot stone- but wife had never tried it and was pretty amped about it. She was bummed out when no one there had a clue what we were talking about. Overall- I had a great experience......... I would print the yelp page and take it in if you're expecting the free hot stone session as we had hoped for. read more

i received a Spa Finder gift card and found this place through the Spa Finder website. It is located in Bellevue on Lake Bellevue and was easy to find. I called on a Friday around 3 and was able to have a massage that night, which was great! It was in an office building, which was kind of weird but it was after hours so it was quiet. I am not sure if it would still not bother me during the work day though? You are seated in a waiting room with views of the quiet lake to relax. My massage was great! Relaxing, not rushed and just the perfect amount of talk. The only downfall is my massage therapist is a fill in so I am not sure I will always be able to schedule with her? Also, since the receptionist was leaving I had to pay and tip (no cash with me) before the massage which I didn't like. Thank goodness I was happy with the service! Try them out! read more

So I had two experiences at All Star Lake Spa....first I went there to get a massage which was a terrible massage I felt awful afterward....However I did call and complain and let the owner know how displeased I was. Starla and I worked out a deal and I came back in for a facial with Rebecca. The FACIAL was AMAZING Rebecca was extremely nice and I had a very relaxing time I feel asleep a couple of times and the facial more than made up for the terrible massage. Also note that my sister had a massage at All Star and she loved it. So maybe my masseuse was on an off day (not sure) But I did appreciate Starla's concern and I'm glad she convinced me to come back in for the facial. read more

I had a lovely experience at All Star Spa and would highly recommend it! The spa is conveniently located in Bellevue, but tucked away so you feel like you've escaped the city!. I came to All Star on a groupon deal for a classic facial. I am getting married this year and want to start getting my skin in order before the big day so I figured a facial would be a good place to start. When I called to make the appointment the girl on the phone was great - very friendly and professional, and worked with my on scheduling around my work hours. I know some reviews on here had negative comments on the reception staff, but I never saw any of that. When I got there, the location was a little different than expected. It is very tucked away in a building that reminded me of medical offices. It didnt bother me or anything, just different. The place inside seemed small, but it does the job. the waiting area was nice because it wasnt right in the front where you feel like your in the way or uncomfortable. Joanie did my facial and she was fabulous! She was very helpful and taught me a lot about what my skin needs in regards to my specific problem areas including dryness and mild acne breakouts. She was very friendly and chit chatted with me while she did the facial. Overall, I was very happy with the service and noticed a big difference in my skin after it was done as well as a few days later. Even tho it was just a classic facial which is more of a mini or less indepth facial I really noticed a big change. My skin is softer and my skin tone is a little more evened out. Joanie was also helpful after we were done and educated me on the products she used and helped me book my next facial appointment. The only reason I am giving them a 4 star versus a 5 is because of the cost of the retail product. It was riding the limit of my budget, even though it is very nice product. I ended up buying the Bamboo Polish and looooooove it (thanks Joanie!). It was pricey, but I have notice that it has helped to keep my skin soft since my facial. The moisturizer I wanted was out of my price range which was unfortunate since I really liked it. I would have been 100% happy with this place if I could have been able to afford the products used on my skin, since the price of the facial (even full price) is very affordable. Overall I am very happy with All Star and will be back many times before my wedding, and probably many times after as well. I will be recommending All Star to my friends and coworkers! read more
