I did a facial at this place. The facial itself is not good. In particular, they can not pull black spots. When I asked the staff to do that, she hurt me so much that it took me quite a few days to recover. Second, their billing is very problematic. They did not show me the itemized cost and automatically charged a cost plus 25% tip without asking me to tip the amount. Moreover, the cost they charged was also higher than the amount advertised on their website. When I requested them to refund me the extra charge, the staff has very ruled attitude, and literally attacking me. Overall, this is among the worst facial experience. read more

I have been looking for a massage place and found this one based on the reviews from others. It seemed that they did more steps to prevent the covid so made me feel safe. I was able to make an appointment through the Yelp message on the same day. It was convenient. When I arrived there, they showed me the room. The masseur was professional and did a very good job. Customer service means everything, and this place truly delivers on that. I've been twice now, my first experience was a little bit of a let down, and I gave them feedback when I was leaving. They made sure to follow up after, and ensured if I came back that my experience would be a lot different. That it was!! The staff were incredibly amazing, and my next experience was completely different. The rooms are clean, the linens are fresh. It has parking directly outside, and when you are leaving, they give you little treats. I can't tell you how friendly the staff here are (other businesses could learn from them!). I've had two massages from Li's Spa with two different therapists and I honestly can't tell you which one was better. They were both two of the best massages I've ever had. I felt much better after leaving both times. One massage included very good back walking, the other included very good deep tissue massage. These massage therapists were physically very small but they didn't let that stop them from going extremely deep and doing a very hard massage, which is something I've had trouble with in the past (therapists not being able to get deep enough). It's been my preferred facility of choice for many years, but lately I've been experiencing considerable pain and stiffness and started booking on a regular basis. Everyone Li has scheduled for me brings talent and skill in detecting and alleviating the tightness, and I'm grateful that this spa is available and part of my now regular health regime. I have noticed the rare unkind review - I recently interviewed Li about being a successful business woman on the Eastside for a project, and it's a disheartening experience to understand what she encounters from some one-time customers. Came here after recalling a friend recommending it a while ago. I was pleasantly surprised they were able to accommodate my schedule and even able to see me the same day I called though I wasn't asking them to do so. When I arrived, they were friendly and professional in greeting, take sanitation seriously, and are upfront about their Covid and tipping policy during this time period. And The deep tissue massage was great - just the right amount of pressure and I could tell that they could tell what needed to be done to relax and rebalance the body. I have been a regular at Li's for about 5 years now and feel compelled to provide a review and support the establishment. Great Customer service, great massages. I have never had a "bad" massage here, but I have had some of the best massages in my life. My recommendation, if you have a great experience with a therapist, get their name and ask to have them for your next massage. They may not always be abvailable so YMMV. Also if your experience fails to meet you expectation let Li, the owner, know. Li has been a joy over the years and has always been very gracious in our interactions. One thing to keep in mind is that she is running a small business in a challenging market, and that the therapists there are contract, not employees. If you miss your scheduled appointment on short notice and do not give ample time to fill the time then the therapists are losing out on the business, so yes you should expect to be asked to pay if you do not cancel in advance per the policy. Don't be fooled by their reviews!! I wish I could give them zero star... got a gift card that tip was already paid for. Went in for a massage last Sunday, they were short 5 minutes but I was fine and didn't say anything about it. When I wanted to leave they told me that I'm supposed to pay additional %20 tip cause it mandatory now everywhere which was the first time I was hearing that and I would've been fine paying if they talked right. And then katheryn called her boss and told her about this and she gave me the phone and their boss started YELLING at me that I HAVE to pay another %20. Occasion: Deep tissue massage for sore areas. I am a frequent customer here Service: They accommodate me when I call in to ask about same-day appointments and even during the same week. I do recommend booking in advance. The receptionist is super sweet and she will know me by my name. When they miss my calls, they always return it and ask when I would like to book it. This is the definition of great customer service - following up with your customer to make sure you are slotted in. I know this because not many places call you back (if they even). Massage: I only book/get deep tissue. No matter which masseuse I am paired with, they do a fantastic job taking care of my needs. They don't waste 10 minutes asking you to fill out some form and circle which areas hurt. I get that that can be a more comprehensive view for them before they work on you. No, this place wastes no time because they treat it like you come in, they ask you where you want to focus on and they get to work. These ladies also don't wait 3-5 minutes for you to undress to your comfort level to start on your massage. I was at massage parlors and all of them wait at least 5 minutes before knocking. I am like, wow, I am paying to get a massage, not for them to stand and wait. I highly recommend this place who doesn't want to waste their time, they work on you because they value your time. Had a horrific experience! I've been going to this place for over 8 years. I was taken to the Massage room and after getting changed, prep, and a few mins after the massage started, I was asked to exit as told they had a schedule mix-up. This is embarrassing and ethically questionable to me. I've booked the appointment via phone and confirmed I will be coming during the call, 2 days in advance. I have had several massages here and they have almost all been excellent. Prices are reasonable. The one time I was not happy, the owner actually gave me a free massage to compensate which I appreciated very much. However, I must take off a star because of their tipping policy - when they reopened after the pandemic, they "required" a 20% tip. I was taken aback because I feel tips should reflect quality - I would have tipped that anyway but being forced to did not feel good. And most recently, they now require 25%! Is this even legal? The masseuse in this spa are all good but the owner or someone at the front desk always forces people to tip 20%. Sometimes even before the service. It's been two years since pandemic and their excuse to make too mandatory doesn't hold anymore. Why not increases prices on the menu instead? Tipping is not mandatory law in the state of Washington, stop treating your customers bad and losing them, it's a bigger loss than losing on the tip. Also; the way owner takes mandatory tips makes me wonder if the workers are even getting the tip or not. My suspicion is owner takes everything. read more

The therapists are fantastic, and I could feel my trigger points and shoulders were significantly less bothersome the next few days. I have been to several massage locations in the puget sound area - Elements, Massage Envy, Yuan Spa, Monroe, they all have very good therapists but none of them beat Li's Spa on pricing unless you enroll in some manner of membership program. I am very happy customer! Not only did I have a great massage with Helen, but the entire experience at Li's Spa is worth reading about. Making an appointment was easy, when I called the woman who answered was extremely polite and accommodated my schedule, I was able to get a same day appointment. Walking in, the lobby is clean and relaxing. It is a very comforting and has a homey vibe. This is not the type of spa you would go for your honeymoon, but it is more casual and very sweet. The person who greeted me asked me what kind of massage I would like and asked me how I was feeling. They have a few interesting options here, I went for Li's Signature (Chinese deep tissue) but they have a Thai massage (with a therapist from Thailand) and also a Lomi Lomi massage which is a Hawaiian treatment. I cannot wait to try these! Helen was very, very strong and was always asking how I was feeling, and what was bothering me. She was excellent and nurturing. This was my first time getting a massage. I work with screens all day, and my neck has had problems for awhile. Yesterday my neck seized up and I needed to get someone to help with it quickly. I messaged Li's Spa late at night, and was surprised to get an answer immediately. They booked me in for early the morning. When I arrived they got me in to a room quickly. I told them I had never been to a spa before, and the receptionist was kind and told me what to do. The room was really nice, and it was dark, peaceful, warm and relaxing. There were covid measures in place, with an air purifier, fresh bed dressings, and an additional cover for the table where my head went. As far as the massage, it was really really wonderful. She responded to my requests for pressure, and communicated with me to make sure I was feeling comfortable. She spent time working on my difficult spots, but also worked the whole body. I dont have anything to compare it to, but I'd say it was really wonderful and I felt so much better afterwards. I was happy she worked on my knots and got some smoothed out. On my way out, the owner was at the front of the shop and offered me water, and a snack to help with the post-massage effects. She was very friendly and warm, and was happy to talk and answer any questions I had. I highly recommend this place, and will definitely go back. read more

UPDATE: After my previous review/feedback, the staff at Li's Spa wanted to make things right. I returned today for a 90-min session with Lydia. She was very attentive to make sure pressure was what I needed. She focused on areas that I addressed and frequently checked in verbally to make sure she was meeting my needs. I appreciated their responsiveness to my feedback and value customer satisfaction. Thank you for a much needed session after traveling with two kids alone. PRIOR POST: Been here twice for 60-min massages. I would consider the quality of the massage a hit or miss. My first one was spot on. The therapist was responsive to my body's needs. The second time, I thought I got a half effort as I had to seek another massage for the remainder of my back, hip and shoulder tensions. Therapist didn't speak a whole lot of English so she didn't understand what I was conveying. That was really an issue for the second time went. Not sure if I'll go back again at this point. I went to Li's spa after receiving a gift certificate for a 90 minute massage from a sweet friend. I don't get massages often because I never seem to be able to relax fully, I'm kind of always a little anxious during them. However, this experience was so different! Such a great and relaxing place that doesn't rip you off. The staff is so warm and welcoming. Right when I walked in I was greeted with a smile. Before I even said anything, they were ready for me and had everything prepared. I didn't have to wait a second. (Making an appointment on the phone was very easy as well - and same day!) The massage was great, exactly what I needed. They asked what areas need more attention. checked in with me throughout the session and offered water and snacks after. Excellent service. The only recommendations that I have is to turn down the AC in the massage rooms. I got cold by the end of my session but it was so minor compared to everything else that went great, that I would still recommend this place 100%! read more

I have to agree with one of the reviewers here. It is a hit and miss. This was my second time in the spa and first time was awesome- just spectacular! It was so good that my husband, who usually is not a big fan of massage, asked me to book another appointment. We were given two massage therapists (different from our first time), which was OK bc we thought (and have been told) that every massage therapist were great. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Neither my nor my husband's therapist was good. I said I like firm pressure but got moderate pressure at best. And that is not the even the issue. The massage was neither Swedish, which is what I asked for nor deep tissue. I didn't feel like a trained person was massaging me at all even though all the therapists here are trained. I felt as if my nephew was giving me a massage. I had back pain going in and needed to relax. I didn't. My husband had shoulder issues and he didn't relax either. Believe it or not we went to another spa right after this one to relax. I was so disappointed. Also, you have to give 15% tip (minimum), which we did. But, I don't understand this policy either. Gratitude is correlated with satisfaction with the service, we weren't satisfied but yet had to pay as if we were. P.S: The first time we paid way more than 15%. So, for us gratitude is related to what you get. Anyways, I don't think we are going back or recommending this spa to our friends. Such a shame. I wish I could have said this is my favorite spa in town (and I thought I would). Oh well! read more
