Y booked appointment and called ahead for brow wax and I was told they did brow shaping first. The Asian lady that assisted me went directly with the threading although I asked her if she was going to do brow shaping first and she said yes. I also was very specific about not wanting my brows thin. Idk if she just didn't care or didn't understand me or what but she did not shape and she ended up removing move brow hair leaving me with a thin brows like the 2000s. She was also very harsh on my face, not gentle at all! She didn't wash her hands before touching my face or use sanitizer. She left all the excess of hair on my face. Terrible service. read more

She made me feel comfortable and waxing didn't hurt as much as it normally does for me. I am just upset that the day i went i found out they raised the price, although they still charged me the same amount i booked for and not the raised price. But i was happy i found a place close by that has reasonable prices, but now my waxing services will total me to $200/month which is higher than the old place(which relocated) i paid $160. Had an appointment for Friday at 5 pm. Was in and out in 15 mins. However, the lady who did my eyebrows was very harsh and was pulling the hair so hard. Went to SkinLuxe for the first time this past weekend and had the 60-Minute Deep Cleansing Facial & Microdermabrasion $60. Before starting with the facial, I told Achui that I had the BECU Passport discount which states 15% discount on all services at SkinLuxe. The owner did not honor the discount. What's worse is that their website said their microdermbrasion treatment "utilizes a diamond-tipped wand to remove dead and dull skin cells from the surface of the face, resulting in smoother and brighter skin". They don't have professional grade equipment and no diamond-tipped wand. Instead they used a hand-held device to mimic a professional microdermabrasion. The gadget they used is something you can buy from Amazon. The facial was also not your standard facial, I basically just got a 60-minute face massage of different creams and the so-called extractions were just her scraping my nose with a scalpel. I ended up with very irritated and dry flaky skin all over my face, and it looks like they used a peeling solution, which is not typical for a microdermabrasion, because my skin has been peeling for days. It's been five days since I went to SkinLuxe and my face is still irritated. Extremly disappointed. I also asked the girl if she is a licensed esthetician since I did not see any license framed by the front desk or inside the facial room. She said yes but I am doubting it. Skip this place and go somewhere else if you want professional and quality facials. read more

Update on 1/23/2021 This place has come under new management at the beginning of 2020 since my last review and I have to say it's become my go to for any threading needs even during Covid. The owner is always pleasant and kind. She always cheers me up no matter what kind of a day I'm having. With Covid, you call to make a reservation but often she will accommodate you as she is super skilled and thorough with the thread. I'm always so happy after I've gone. I love this place!! read more

I only have good things to say about this salon. The customer service is very professional, courteous and consistent. More importantly, I'm OBSESSED with the way Niru does eye brows and waxing. I have been scared for years to have a Brazilian wax. I've tried shaving, laser removal and had a bad experience with waxing in the past. I was very worried but let me tell you! Yes it is painful! but you get used to if you go regularly and the results are worth it. The service is good but there is a new lady that they hired and she waxes so fast she doesn't get all the hair off and when she does eyebrows, she does it really fast and doesn't pay attention. On top of that, they're only three people who work in the salon, and only one of them can actually do your eyebrows the way you want them and that's the owner. I've asked all three workers in the parlor to make my eyebrows thick and shaped in an arch and everyone but the owner has made them thin and curved. Which is the exact opposite of what I asked for. I really hope they read this because it's getting really irritating. I love this parlor and they have really good service otherwise, but I will probably stop going if something like this keeps continuing. read more

I bought a package of 3 dermaplaning sessions from Groupon bc I get this done once a month and it was starting to get pricey. The first 2 sessions were okay, the technician did an okay job but before she even started my procedure she was already hounding me about getting laser and chemical peels- I said I would consider it after I see the results. She was kinda huffy about that but did a good job with the dermaplaning. For the 3 visit, and what I'm writing this review about- I got cut deeply on the forehead (it was a different technician) and several times around my face. The technician was very rough with the razor and claimed I was moving (I was not- as I'm so used to getting this treatment done) so then instead of offering a refund or anything she says "just don't pick at the scab and you'll be fine" she tried to cover up my deep cut with a bunch of creams (it was a painful Cut and I kept telling her to stop bc it really hurt) but when I got to my car and wiped off the creams- there's a deep cut that's swelling up and turni Actually I have the type of skin that leaves scars for a couple of years. Even from insect bites. So now I'll have scars on my face from a pretty routine facial treatment. I've left a message for the owner and waiting for response. read more

This is probably biased because I have never been to another threading place before (just fyi). I was recommended this place from my friend over a year ago and had moved over from waxing to threading. The pain is around the same level for me, probably because I am a baby and get watery eyes but I assume that is something people want to know. The people who work there are very nice. I do think each of them has different recommendations and styles when it comes to brows. If you want to stay consistent, you should probably just go in to the same person each time. If you do not care, like me, and just want them to be clean, you can walk in anytime to whomever. They will just get straight to what they think you want or need. If you have specific things you want, you have to specifically state them and make sure they understand before they start. I have witnessed multiple times, confusion. They were recently moved over from next door within the last year I think and went through a remodel. The place is normally very clean and sparse. Depending what time you go, it is usually very empty unless you hit a rush and sometimes you have to wait your turn behind 3 other people. I think that this is a good option if you are in the area. I have to admit though, it probably is on the pricier side and you should do your research first. read more

I got my eyebrows threaded for the first time here and it was a quick and easy process. I only told them that I wanted to maintain natural brow shape and they did a great job. I wasn't sure what to expect and I was very satisfied with the results. My appointment was with Niru and she left after finishing my first brow to attend to what seemed like a more regular customer and the other employee took over. Skinluxe has been my go-to for threading since before the pandemic, but lately they've been making my brows way too thin. I've clarified before every appointment that I don't want my brows thin, I just want them cleaned up and their natural shape but the woman never listens. I'm always left with brows that are half the thickness of my original brows and with a very big arch. I've always bought punch cards and unfortunately have nearly an entire card left, but I will never be returning to Skinluxe after I use up those punches. I was really excited to get laser hair removal done on my legs. Unfortunately I'm really unsatisfied with the service. I called ahead to ask if I should shave at home or if I should shave there and the response was that I should shave there. I showed up with my legs unshaven (as I was told) and they told me it was an extra fee to have my legs shaved. I shrugged it off because it was just $10 extra and I am just excited to get my legs hair free!! First of all, the woman pulls out a very cheap, single blade, razor and admits herself that it is a bad shaver. She doesn't wet the shaver, she doesn't apply any product, she just shaves downward (going with the growth of my hair). It was itchy and uncomfortable to feel the dull razor snag my hairs. My skin is a bit sensitive so I've never used cheap razors on it, and definitely wouldn't pay extra for such a poor job. I again shrugged it off because I figured she knows what she's doing. This part isn't a huge deal, and I didn't take it personally, but for someone who has been insecure about my body hair forever, it wasn't fun for me to be told "you are super hairy". The session goes fast-- I mean really fast. From the research I did, it's supposed to take up to an hour, especially for a large area. This took maybe 20 minutes or less (shave time included). I mentioned how fast it was and she said it isn't usually fast, it's just how she does it is super quick...Nobody wants the work thats being done on them to be rushed, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt and said "you must be so good that it's a super quick and easy job for you!". Then I sit up and notice that the MAJORITY of my legs were covered in hair. I asked politely about the huge patches of hair and before looking she says "it's normal" (which is odd because she said earlier that the legs need to be hairless in order to penetrate the follicles), but then when she looks down, she suddenly looks flustered and says "oh I missed some spots". So I lay down again for her to fix it. She starts coming up with one excuse after another. She says "The goggles that we wear are so dark, it makes it hard to see" (which doesn't add up because she wasn't wearing the goggles to shave me). Then she says "My prescription glasses haven't arrived yet"...You shouldn't be doing your job that requires vision if you can't see! Then I get up a second time and I check, there is still hair everywhere. Very disappointing. I hope the laser was still able to "penetrate the follicles" because I still have to go back for 2 more sessions that I've already paid for. She was a very sweet lady, but she rushed the process tremendously and was very sloppy. I didn't feel well taken care of unfortunately. I also felt like it was a rip off to be charged extra for the shaving when it was the worst shave I have ever had (& even took the extra step to ask before hand where to shave). I am returning for my last two sessions (since I already paid for them) but I am going to try and meet with a different esthetician doctor and will most likely go to a different med-spa for the remaining 3 sessions that I'll need. read more

I really don't recommend going here. The hours never reflect when they're actually open. I showed up at 12 PM and the door was locked and I saw them literally turn the lights off. I tried calling again and the woman rudely said "why do you keep calling? Just wait outside for five minutes." I waiting outside for over ten minutes and then she let me in and said "are you the one who kept calling?" During the threading she said, "you really needed this." What on earth... Pros: cheap threading and clean inside. Cons: clearly very poor customer service and impossible to schedule. read more
