I was so excited to try this...I've had an insanely busy summer and wanted to relax. I left confused, uncomfortable and my neck and shoulders are sore from getting overly rubbed on the bone.
We walked in, and were quickly ushered to change into what appeared to be pleated skirts. It was motioned to undress and put the skirt over your chest, which was fine. Then you're lead to a bed and told to face down; as I'm laying face down, this pleaded skirt is being yanked down by my therapist very aggressively...it's pulled past my chest and to my surprise past my bum. It now sits below my bum. Why is my bum out for a scalp massage?! For the next what feels like century I'm hearing pumps of product and lotion is just getting applied to me...it's not a massage, it doesn't feel good, it starts to feel annoying. She is lotioning my back, arms and bum, and I feel like a slippery whale. No massaging, just rubbing over and over. My bum is completely out, nothing is covered but my lower legs, she continues to adjust the skirt as if needing to expose more of my bum. She tucks things under my legs. I couldn't understand why so much of my butt needed to be out. When she finally started to massage...not one movement felt relaxing. Things that feel nice like a hand massage...felt like absolutely nothing. She kept massaging my bones, she found the bone in the back of my neck, and wouldn't stop trying to push it back in. Pushing my butt cheeks together and apart. Horrific...I've never had such a weird unenjoyable experience. It finally ends, she takes wet warm towels and wipes all the lotion off my back and takes the towel thru my butt crack.
We finally get to the scalp massage part, and it's far from a massage. It's scraping tools and Pantene Pro V...during this portion...the door flies open and someone yells "DHL delivery!" And throws a box on the ground. At that point my curtain blows around and I think "well at least my butt is covered"... I hear a male voice (who I have no idea where he came from) sign for the package and disappear again. The scalp scraping continues, water splashing everywhere...felt so clumsy. We were being practiced on it felt. So much pushing towels up, and down, and tucking them. She tries to massage shoulders but it's such an insane experience, when not one hand motion feels good. It's kind of an art...even at a hair salon the hair brushing, or grazing of your neck is relaxing...not a single touch was relaxing
It finally ends, My scalp was throbbing. They insist on blow drying your hair dry, they pack on the leave in conditioner that ur hair leaves feeling like a film of product. They weirdly apply the product after a blow drying. My therapist had the blow drier point up and not even at my hair and she kept touching every strand of my hair until it was a puff.
I paid and tipped, and wanted to get out and never return...my friend and I drove home stunned at our experience. In silence. read more
