Had a tricky problem with an old lock on an old door in an old building. TONY was amazing - very talented and patient.

I'll never use this locksmith again. I called them to repair a patio door lock. The repairman took the lock apart and supposedly fixed it--it was working properly when he left. A few days later it wasn't. The problem: he "fixed" a part that WASN'T broken and ignored another part that WAS broken. (I know it was broken because I disassembled the lock myself before he showed up and noticed the part was broken and called it to his attention). The same repairman came back a second time, took the lock apart, and discovered the broken part. He then told me I'd be charged $35 for the part (which actually costs about $8) and a $95 installation fee on top of the $163 I already paid them for the first "repair." A total of $293 for totally incompetent service. I told him I wouldn't pay, asked him to leave, ordered the part I needed online, and will be installing it myself. My advice: take your business elsewhere. read more

This place is ACES! Went in today for a new Multi-lock cylinder and extra keys for same. A very professional worker named Sturt (pronounced Stuart) suggested a way I might possibly have the old cylinder re-keyed and save a lot of money. Instead I opted for a new cylinder, as there is a magnet security feature in the new version that is not present in my old lock. Sturt was courteous, knowledgeable, and very customer focused. He even extended the job discount to my order and he was very prompt. Can't say enough good things about this place, they are tops. Why not try them with any of your locksmith needs. Great job and I hope I never have to use them again. Well, it was bound to happen sometime. I locked myself out of my apartment, lost my key, and my spare was inside instead of with my neighbor Josie. It was late afternoon on a Sunday, and I checked reviews for a highly rated locksmith in the area. They fit the bill and I called. The gruff Israeli on the phone gave me a price estimate and said someone could be here within half an hour. The locksmith was prompt, courteous, and methodical. He tried to pick the lock, but because it was ancient and my landlord never repairs anything, he needed to drill through the lock and replace it. Sadly for me, this is more expensive. He replaced the lock, wondering aloud who the heck installed it so poorly in the first place. Still, it was less expensive than I anticipated, and I was impressed with the quick service on a Sunday, making a potentially stressful situation less so. I stopped in here because I had a key that I needed help getting copies of. I wouldn't say they were particularly helpful. I got turned away because they told me they didn't have the key and when I asked them do you know where I could find someone who could make a copy of this key they said "I don't know I just work here." So overall I would say the customer service is top notch but probably still worth a check in. read more

My apartment door lock broke on my way out. Called and picked a time for them to come by, which happened to be late at night. Tony was right on time, and he found a way to disengage the lock and replace the broken component without breaking anything else, which saved me a bunch of money. We have used All Security Locksmith to get copies of keys multiple times. They actually were the ONLY ones that were able to finally make duplicate copies of a specific key after trying multiple times with other locksmiths. We also just used them to replace the cylinder of our Multilock for our new apartment. The appointment was for 2-4 and the locksmith arrived at 225pm. He was fast and professional. The owner of All Security was shockingly rude to me. I've lived in the neighborhood for many years and have used this company numerous times. I'll be going elsewhere next time. I called All Security from work because my son and his babysitter were locked in our apartment. One of All Security's locksmiths had replaced our locks several weeks prior. Ever since then, one of the locks kept sticking. It only happened every so often, and by jiggling the lock a bit, we would eventually be able to get the door open. When I first spoke to Roger, he berated me for not calling sooner. Never mind that the problem was caused by his own locksmith! By the time he called me back to tell me he could get one of his guys to my place at around 5:45 pm, our babystter had managed to get the door open. It was around 5:30 and I was about to leave my office in Manhattan. I asked if he could send someone around 6:30, so I could be there, and he refused, saying that his guys leave at 6:00. Really?! Avoid him because he should know the most important thing in business which is the customer is ALWAYS RIGHT! Even when he is WRONG. He is part of the larger practice on Prospect Avenue and they are 24/7. I compared prices to other local providers who over priced considerably. All-Security replaces or re-keyed a Front Door Medeco cylinder with severall copies, they came on-site within 24 hrs and did a great job. The are terrific! read more

i've lived in park slope for most of my 36 years and every couple of years i would give these guys another chance to make keys. every time i give them another chance, they make keys that don't work very well. they're a little bit better than tarzian (the hardware store across the street who makes the worst key copies ever) but none of this is very positive. it's almost not fair that i discuss how they were years ago because they could be better now... i'm not chancing it though. read more

I'd been having problems with my apt. door locks for some time, then one day, they were literally falling off my door. I had to cancel a weekend away to deal with it, and called All Security. Within a half hour on a summer weekend they arrived, and re-installed new locks top to bottom. I have lived in Park Slope for more than 20 years, and I began using All-Security when it was the neighborhood's only key and locksmith shop. I continue to turn to All-Security for any lock problem, big or small, and I have always been completely satisfied. Last week a key broke off deep inside our front door lock. I called All-Security, and a locksmith arrived in less than 60 minutes. (A locksmith who must have been in kindergarten the first time I used All-Security!) Other locksmith shops would probably have told me that we needed a brand-new lock and would have charged me accordingly. But the All-Security locksmith painstakingly extracted the broken key, oiled the lock, and said that the lock was good to go! He saved our lock and our $$$. read more

When I needed an extra key for my '05 Prius, I decided to go the DIY route and reprogram a new transponder I got from Amazon. The big challenge was finding a place that would cut the blank - they all said the same thing: "it's double-sided, plus we can't cut YOUR blank." I don't often write reviews, but based on my experience I wholeheartedly recommend All Security Locksmiths. We had a problem with the door to our coop apartment. All Security sent someone last week who seemed to fix the problem, but shortly afterward we discovered that the lock still didn't work completely. So this week they sent a different guy who put in a lot of time to diagnose the now less obvious issue. After about an hour, he completed the repair, and management didn't charge us anything, even though the problem was more extensive than originally thought. Good job! read more

I had a number of annoying lock issues that had accumulated--an iron gate lock was not closing properly, a backdoor lock was unreliable, a doorknob kept falling off a spindle, another lock kept getting stuck, and more like this.
