I highly recommend using Andy as your locksmith. I received his name from a neighbor who told me I wouldn't be disappointed and she was right. For the background, I have a terrible door on my apartment that is not sold anywhere locally. The locking mechanism is in the doorknob by pulling it up. Well, our doorknob broke off. I had five different locksmiths come to look at it before I received Andy's information., all said that they couldn't do anything. One quoted me some crazy price to try, several suggested I replace the door (which was also a crazy amount of money I was being quoted). Andy came over and was willing to try. I lost the last key to my bike's kryptonite u-lock over the weekend. Without they key's serial code, my only options were to cut off the lock or abandon my bike to be one of the many bike zombies chained to bike locks throughout the city. I was a bit unsure if many locksmiths would be open to cutting the lock for me due to the equipment needed and other things. However, I got in contact with Andy and he sent me a link to his business' Instragram. On it, was a photo of him using an electric handsaw and I knew he'd be able to get the job done for me. Really nice guy. Unfortunately the work just hasn't held up. The locks aren't tight, they're misaligned, and they were poorly installed. Two screws have already come out. While we appreciate his responsiveness and I'm sure he has plenty of expertise, in our experience we can't recommend him and unfortunately have to hire someone else to fix the work. read more
