    Sewer clean out installation

All Rooter are impressive and highly recommended. I've needed their services a few times recently, on unrelated issues, and have worked directly with Luis each time. He is courteous, dependable, and he and his team do great work. What's really been appreciated is the way he takes time to explain what the problems and potential solutions are and then engage with any and all questions I might have in a comprehensive but straightforward way. It feels a lot like a professional, workplace relationship. This really builds trust and confidence that good solutions have been found, and is a key part of why I have kept coming back.

Tub drain and overflow pipe heavily corroded

It would be an understatement to say that Bert from All Rooter was a good plumber, he's a GREAT plumber. Never in my life did I have a more responsive, polite, detailed contractor. My condo had a major tub pipe leak that was leaking into the neighbor's wall and subfloor. The situation was complicated by the fact that the pipe was on top of a drain that went into a thick garage ceiling beneath the condo. All other plumbers were unresponsive or turned down the job. One plumber wanted to charge me thousands to repair it. Bert not only fixed it beautifully, but provided a free inspection, and his price was not thousands. The neighbor also remarked what a kind, polite and detailed plumber he was. It took five hours for him and his assistant to do the work. He even followed up with me the next day to see how everything was going. Here is the before and after (note that city code requires brass pipes).

BEST OF THE BEST! Highly recommend All Rooter! We hired them to repair our sewer pipe connection to the city line and clean out / hydro jet our catch basin. It was a big project and they did a phenomenal job! From the beginning they showed extensive knowledge and experience in this type of repair. Bert also showed interest in understanding the real issue in order to recommend the best approach and provide us with an accurate cost for the work. He was very responsive throughout the entire process and answered all my questions clearly. He sent images and videos of the work during the process to keep us informed and up to date. The construction area was left organized every day which showed respect for our property and care for the work that he does. Additionally, they provided advice on improvements to our storm water management system and recommendations on future maintenance. Working with Bert was a true pleasure and would hire him again!!

    Sump pump and drainage install

Bert and his team are the best around. We had numerous issues with flooding in our basement, sewage backup, water seepage going on for 7 years. He took the time to assess everything and got right to work fixing all of our sewer issues. Outside, we had him install a flood control system and entirely replace a cracked main sewer line. Inside, they installed a moisture barrier, a drainage system and a sump pump. He also followed up after each storm to ensure the basement remained dry. His amazing attention to detail and quick responsiveness/follow up is comparable to no other contractor we've worked with and we will continue to use them as needed and recommend their services to anyone.

Conversation to provide the facts for lack of service.

You responded just yesterday and the question was asked 2/28. I never asked for an immediate schedule so I believe you have confused me for someone else. I gave my rating because you never responded and I felt that was unprofessional after you read my question.

My kitchen sink was draining incredibly slowly, and my previous attempts to fix it just weren't working. From the very first phone call, the team was professional and easy to work with. Scheduling the appointment was a breeze, and I was given a courtesy call on the day of service with an estimated arrival time, which ended up being earlier than expected. I really appreciated the heads-up, as it worked out just fine for my schedule. When the plumbers arrived, they were prompt, courteous, and took the time to ask about the issue before assessing the situation. They gave me a reasonable verbal quote and got to work right away, completing the service the same day. I also liked that they accept credit card payments, making the whole process even more convenient. Thanks to Chicago Sewer & Drain, my kitchen sink is back to normal, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the experience. Would I hire them again? Absolutely! Would I recommend them? 100%

Stay away from this company. They cannot be trusted, they left my house destroyed with 10 holes all…read moreover my laundry room and a basement bathroom after paying 12,000. We initially contacted the company to fix a clogged kitchen sink. Before they arrived, we clearly explained that rodding had already been attempted and did not work, and that we needed someone equipped with a camera inspection to locate the clog. When they arrived, they insisted on trying rodding again, saying their machine was more powerful. After several hours, the clog remained. My stairs carpet was full of mud after they left.. They returned another day to troubleshoot, but the camera they had was too large to see inside the pipes which again we had requested a thinner one from the start. Tomas indicated that they needed to do one , two small openings max to locate the clogged pipe. However, this escalated to ten holes throughout the laundry room walls and ceiling, as well as the basement bathroom walls and ceiling. He changed a pipe in the bathroom for no reason. To justify that he opened holes on the bathroom tha had nothing to do with the kitchen sink? Eventually, they discovered that the pipe leading to the outside of the house was collapsed. The solution was to excavate under the house, outside concrete stairs, under deck to fix the pipe. My husband proposed the solution to reroute the kitchen drain through the laundry room floor to connect to the city pipe. They said they needed to come next day to hydrojet and find the city pipe, plus 3 days to do the work. The quoted $12,000 which we felt was a lot of money but we had no kitchen sink for over a week now, 10 holes on the house, and not thinking clearly at this point. We accepted given the stressful situation, we agreed and paid $6,000 upfront. The work was completed in less than eight hours (versus 3 days) far less time and effort than represented. He promised us before starting that he will send someone to cover all the holes. Well he never sent anyone. After a couple weeks we texted and he gave us some BS excuse that he wanted to make sure he sent someone good, didn't mater the cost. A month later, same story, that the job is to small foe him to find someone (10 hold is small? I cannot imagine how much wrost could have been if we let him excavate towards the outside of the house. In summary he can't be trusted, his words means nothing. Do not pay him until you are satisfied. I File a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB), and he didn't even answered, that is how much he cares. So i am going to leave this review in every place they are advertised and every moms, community facebook pages from north riverside to 10 miles around.

I especially appreciate how communicative Mike was about everything before doing it -- that he'd have to cut a hole in our drywall, how much it was going to be, etc. No surprise charges at the end. While they were at our house, another plumbing issue emerged that they were able to resolve for the time being and give us a quote for the bigger fix needed. I've worked with so many plumbers in Chicago and All Star Plumbing has been the best experience so far. My experience with them started off as a non-emergency consultation. Enrique came out right on schedule, we walked thru the issues, and I got a text with the official estimate. He was very clear about what needed to be done and how. He didn't try to scare me into a remodel (yes someone else tried that). I also got estimates from 2 others, but SR was the best. Their estimate wa comfortably within my budget. NOTHING WAS LEAKING AT THAT TIME so I planned to schedule work early January. Then I came home to leaking ceiling. Since they're available 24/7, i called their office. Maria was able to schedule Jimmy to come out within a couple hours. He made sure the pipes were OK, then found the bad seal on my tub. Four hours after coming home my ceiling was no longer leaking, my tub was sealed, and we had plans to fix the rest before the end of the week. Finally, the day of the planned project arrived. Jimmy came out early because I had an afternoon commitment. Everything went exactly as he said it would. Time and cost matched my estimate/ consultation EXACTLY. (Luckily no surprises midway thru the project). He wrapped up, checked his work, and cleaned up. Will 100% be saving this business to my favorites.

Utterly disappointing and maddening…read more Utilizing the free estimate I called these guys first. It is not really free as it is just added into the cost if they fix something for you. What initially was a small job costing me $300 (overcharged on this too) for less than an hour and maybe $15 in supplies ballooned into a $13000 job. Fixed a very minor problem that had I known what it was I could have done myself. Brandon either lacks experience, lacks knowledge or just does not care and I am not sure which of these is worst. They claimed they ran a camera into my sewer line and there was a collapse along the west edge of my home. I said please check the south edge too as that was where water was coming back into my pit. Brandon said it was probably nothing on the south edge that needed repair. Initial verbal estimate for west edge repair was $4500. Unable to secure another estimate in a timely fashion as we were going out of town in 24 hours and more water kept leaking in after dishes, flushing toilets, laundry or showers. We were kind of desperate. I found out I had a rider in my insurance that would cover up to 10K in sewer line repair. Brandon suggested he could write the estimate high and "we both could make some money". At that point I should have never dealt with them but like I just stated we were in a tight spot. SO he proceeds to write a an estimate of $10, 650 for an 80 square foot repair area on the west edge of the house with a clean out that also included the south edge if it needed it. I said I wanted the clean out on the south edge of the house where it would be more hidden and not underneath my entry door. He acknowledged that and said okay. That was a lie. They only fixed a 6 square foot area on the south edge of my home and did not put the clean out there as instructed. What happened to the west edge??? No idea as he never communicated why it was not fixed. Magically while we were away his crew "discovered" that a main line and gutter line were collapsed in my front yard. There was no camera showing the collapses because he couldn't get the camera far enough in because of the repair needed on the west edge. Of course they could pull out root balls and sludge and make it appear like there was some major issue. The price ballooned to $13000...I found out via text message on Yelp while on vacation. And guess where he puts the clean out??? In the front yard which is the worst possible place for our liking. I hate it there. And to top it off they don't clean up the massive dirt pile. He never communicated that the dirt needs to sit. I said I did not want it and would add dirt as needed. I never would have agreed to leave my yard like that and neither should you. He said he would take care of it and another thing I negotiated with him. Brandon never showed and never responded to any communication attempt. Additionally I told him I needed an updated bill of sale stating the work he had completed and how he arrived at the price he did. He was told upwards of 4 times. I need this to file a supplemental claim as my insurance only covered $7600 worth of the job (they said he excessively charged us for what the work that was shown based on what he had written. Essentially they were like he did not do the job as written. He never sent it and again never responded. All I have is a bogus estimate for work he never did and a literal bill of sale just stating $13K owed. I know he did not pull a permit and it was not inspected by City of Chicago. I verified with my alderman's office no permit was issued. Brandon said he would take care of it. He lied. Fun fact about Chicago. It is the only city in Illinois that PVC is not allowed in the ground for sewer lines. Either Brandon did not know or did not care about that and I again am unsure which is worse. The work they did is not up to code per City of Chicago. Without the updated bill of sale stating what was actually done I have no warranty for any work. I also have no ability to report what was done when I go to sell the home. I am unable to file a supplemental claim and try to recoup the excess costs. And I have a stupid looking clean out in my front yard. This entire process has caused me way too much anxiety. I have spent way too much time thinking about it and losing sleep. I have learned from this experience though. Get multiple estimates from different companies regardless of your situation. Get everything written down in a contract. They also charge 5% for credit card use which is a joke. But most importantly you just cannot trust Red Hot Drain. They lack common courtesy, respect for customers, have terrible communication skills and deserve to fail. Contacting Better Business Bureau next and then the state Plumbing Commission.
