Couldn't dislike a company more. Signed up in JULY because they claimed it would be in my area in a "few weeks". MONTHS later in November when they were going to install it I expressed concern about being locked into a year contract because I am a renter and now the timeline isn't working for me. I cancelled install so that I could verify a renew of my lease and they still sent the technician to install fiber lines. Sadly my husband was home and assumed I had arranged it. The install guy showed up high, reeking of marijuana and poorly installed equipment. Internet did not work for several days, they finally sent a new technician who resolved it. Now I am moving and they insist I pay for a full year of service whether or not I use it. "You assumed the contract during install". An install i cancelled. This company is behind schedule on install and losing money as a result. Instead of owning up to it and building trust in the community, they are squeezing people dry for every dollar to make up for their loss. 0 Stars. They advertise FIBER Service, but at the end point of their delivery is Wifi. Yes, you can plug into their router, that is if the router is located near your desk. In my case, it was installed in the basement. When they activate your equipment, you are automatically billed and locked into a 1-year contract (which I still haven't seen) and they will not let you out of the contract, even immediately after starting. I wasn't happy with the installation, and I needed time to get my house appropriately wired. When the installer was in my home, he told me "I know how to get this working, but I can't do it for the company. You can pay me as a private contractor, and I can do it." I told them I would get the needed wires installed on my end and then come back to their service because I really need Fiber, but they choose to lose a customer and take the immediate money (contract). I need a home phone and that is installed in my unfinished basement, which is apparently good enough for them. I talked to the "supervisor" in the Richmond office who agreed with me and he agreed to cancel the contract after hearing me out, but he apparently lied, because after waiting 10 business days for some action on their end, I called back only to have to start the conversation over again and it ended in a NO. This supervisor never returned my phone call or text messages. I was warned by my neighbor to avoid this company but being a disabled veteran I need the internet speed and home phone, so I tried. What a big mistake. Beware of the 1-year contract and their crappy customer service. Their main concern is the bottom line and you are only here to fund it. read more

All points is always going down in any kind of storm rain or snow. They use to have maps to show exactly where outages were. Now you just get oh yah there is outage somewhere in your county and it is pending when we get it fixed. Do you get service requested no it is always going down. Quality is good when it is working. I used to have good performance and great customer service when Roadstar was my ISP. Ever since they were bought by Allpoints Broadand, both have gone to sh*t. My so called "15 Mbps" downlink normally runs around 2 Mbps on a good day if it even works at all. Allpoints Broadband knows there are few to no alternatives so they can treat their customers like sh*t. It's ironic how their website boasts about being one of the fastest growing companies when they are actually one of the worst in the business. I have been a customer since 2015, and was with the company they bought for eight years before that. The speeds were always enough to run the streaming services we wanted, but rarely were the speeds I was promised. I recently signed up for Verizon Home Unlimited and get between 10 mb and 50mb down and 10 MB up.... Substantially more than all points for half the price. When I went to cancel on the first of the month, two days before my credit card is normally charged, I was told I had to give ten days notice and would have to pay for the entire month. I appealed to three people, begging them to just cancel my payment and they refused. I am being charged for an entire month that I will not use. They set them up for internet, and then the internet did not work... so they said buy a new router, still did not work, made all kinds of excuses, finally sent someone out, and there was no sight distance, they wanted us to take down a bunch of trees.... meanwhile my parents had been paying for internet and not getting internet... and All Points refused to even give a refund. Since All Points Broadband took over Shelby Broadband, our service has been especially bad in the evenings. Just now, at 9:30 in the evening, a speed test at fast.com indicates we're getting 330Kbs down (that's right, Kbits, not Mbits!) by 580Kbs up, with 548mS of latency. When the service was operated by Shelby Broadband, there may have been occasional slowness in the evenings, but not like what we have now, where this slowdown is happening every single night. I actually had to tether my laptop to my cellphone in order to get this review to post. I have fingers crossed that Verizon will actually get around to rolling out their home 5G internet service in the next couple of years. Once they do, I can't see how the service offered by All Points "Broadband" will be the least bit relevant. read more

I live in Western Loudoun and have had them for many years (around 15) as they were the only option. They started out as Roadstar Internet and believe me, I have called them many times over the years with pathetic speeds and was always told "it's your router". I originally had Blue Zoom internet and then All Points bought them out. Since then our internet slowed down and would go in and out. We called and each time we were told there are no problems on their end. With schools going to all online classes due to the pandemic we knew we would have to find a faster internet for our child to be able to do their school work. I called in July 2020 to find out when my contract ended and I was informed that it ended on 8/1/2020. I called back on 8/3/2020 to cancel and I was told that since we are into the billing cycle that it would be canceled at the end of it. I was okay with that and I paid the August bill then I changed to a different internet provider. Now I get a bill for September and when I call I am informed that I have a 14 month contract and it doesn't end until 11/8/2020. When I asked why I was lied to twice, once when we were told 8/1/2020 on the first phone call and then the second time on the second phone call when I was told it would be canceled at the end of August, they said that I wasn't lied to. But I was lied to, twice and All Points said that I wasn't. If I had been told it wouldn't end until 11/8/2020 then I wouldn't have changed internet providers until after that. Now during a Pandemic I have to pay for two internet bills, this one and the new faster internet I switched to so that my child can do her online school work since our school is doing all online work. read more

I had good service with Shelby Broadband. They were bought by Allpoints Broadband service has drastically declined. I paid for 15 down and 2 up. I regularly get speeds less than 5 down and less than 1 up. I have called numerous times and the only response I get is "you only paid for upto 15 down". My bill also increased by $20.00 per month. The problem gets even worse at peak times. Not unusual to have less than 3 down. I have also had numerous outages. The last major outage was for 3 days. No credit was ever applied to my bill. The last time I was told that there planned upgrades. When I asked for a date for the upgrades I was just told it was planned and they could not get me a date. I then asked that they lower my rate since I was not getting 15 down and 2 up. I was told I only get up to 15 down, not a guaranteed 15 down. I would recommend you try to find some other internet provider. read more

This review is for the internet company known as All Points Broadband, formerly known as New River Valley Unwired before merging into a larger company. I purchased the NRV 15 which is 15 Mbps down and 4 Mbps upload and the plan includes no data cap. I had my service installed by a technician named Bobby who was very helpful, kind, willing to answer any questions and explain them in great detail, and fun to talk to as he installed my internet service. I chose All Points Broadband as an alternative to Shentel (not had it personally) as I have heard many (as in more than 5, possibly a bad sample) complaints of Shentel's service and customer service in my area. A severe limiting factor for not choosing Shentel is the very restricting data cap. If you stream HD TV, download large files frequently such as databases, movies, large programs, or have a profession that relies on the internet for communication and reaching out to clients this data cap is fairly restricting unless you are willing to pay upwards of $200 for a not as restricting data cap. Overall, All Points Broadband is fast, seems reliable (I will do a future review of its reliability), and the installation of the service was fast and friendly. With this internet it is easy to stream HD TV on two TVs and have 2 computers connected at the same time. I would highly recommend this internet service if you currently only have choices such as Verizon DSL, Shentel, Dial-Up, Hughes Net, or another service with severe limitations. I was not paid by All Points Broadband to give this review as my only intention is help others make a more informed decision on their internet plan as I did not have much information about All Points Broadband when I first purchased them other than from word of mouth. 1 Year later update. This service is not reliable. Unfortunately I believe feel victim to Stockholm syndrome when I wrote the first review... I pay for 15 Mbps download and 4 Mbps upload and I normally get closer to 8-11 Mbps download and I will admit I get closer to 5 Mbps upload. The service goes out about 5-7 times a week and constantly has to be unplugged. I've used two different routers to make sure it wasn't a router issue yet it still disconnects. 90 dollars for 15 Mbps is a fairly hefty price, but I don't know the business model and how much it actually costs to maintain services for a fixed wireless internet company, but I am considering switching to Shentel with their new pricing changes. According to a 2014 article the average download speed in Virginia is 35.09Mbps and the average for the US is 33.99 Mbps and these are measurements not including mobile devices. So $90 for about 10 Mbps that is not very reliable is a tough buy unless your area simply is monopolized or are still stuck in the Stone ages of having dail-up internet. Overall it works, but its expensive for what you get when you actually do get it. If you work from home or absolutely need internet for your job then I would highly look into getting something else. read more

In the month of December 2017 we were averaging less than 2 MB's per second on our internet service, which was so slow we were unable to use the internet. We called the ofc. and they said that they switched cell towers and that was why we weren't getting service. In the meantime no one called us to let us know that our service would be disrupted. I called the ofc. and they said they would adjust our bill for the time we were out of service. They sent techs to our home and we now average 12 MB's per sec. I was billed the usual $99 monthly fee so I called the ofc. to find out why they didn't refund us as they said they would. The girl on the phone said her supervisor told her "not to" since they took care of the problem. In the meantime we are being billed for services that were not rendered. Watch out people.
