BrewHaha special Sammie w oyster mushrooms
    Carly G.

If nobody has put you on to the magic they're cooking up at all in thyme, let me be the one! This is the Number One Rated BrewHaha food vendor. This pork Sammie is out of this world and pairs great with the oyster mushrooms that are always on the menu. Cheyenne and Andrew know what's up!

All in Thyme serves up a variety of great breakfast and lunch options. Perfect for people who want great food to eat over lunch or even work during their lunch hour while eating some great food. You have the option to eat in their cafe on out in the Millwork Commons hall. Their short rib grilled cheese was recommended and definitely worth every bite!

Holy moly this spot was absolutely fantastic!!! Food was 8/5 s!!! You can either eat inside the cafe or find a spot in the common space. You place an order at the counter then they bring the food to you. There were quite a few vegetarian options (you could add protein on top, etc.) which I really really appreciated!! They are known for their bread but I just couldn't resist the curry rice bowls (rice bowls are seasonal on their menu). It was the perfect blend of spices, heat, and all around good flavor. Really nice portion size and beautiful presentation. I'll be back soon to try out the bread! This is going to be my new favorite go to lunch spot. There is a free lot north of Mill Work Commons and the Hello apartments which is a very short work. Or lots of meters around the building.

Awesome atmosphere and food. Had the special of the day, which was the reuben, one of the best I've had. Breads are made in house and it shows. We had the duck fat fries, crispy mushrooms, and also some shishito peppers. It was all 10/10

It's a lucky thing to be surrounded by friends and lovers who enjoy cooking and preparing food while also eating well curated meals. We happened to have Andrew and Cheyanne over for dinner one night and they shared with us what they've been up to! All in Thyme is a gem in the making! They've been open for a few months now offering delightful sourdough boules for order along with breakfast and lunch during their cafe hours. After our lovely dinner Dillon happily went to check it out a couple days later bringing home some sourdough and focaccia bread. Both were wonderful and made the perfect at home avocado toast or made with some butter and a sprinkle of parmigiana Reggiano. The cafe is located in the Millwork Commons sharing a kitchen with Clean Slate and are neighbors to Coneflower Creamery and Dolomiti Pizzeria & Enoteca. A perfect location in this up and coming area. My boyfriend and I were thoroughly impressed by the breads we had already tried and were eager to explore their cafe menu. We headed over the following week. I decided to try their Classic breakfast with bacon and a side of house potatoes. It's served with an English muffin, avocado, tomato, fried egg and garlic aioli. Right up my alley! Dillon got the Monte Cristo which came with blueberry jam that day. This one's made on their focaccia bread with ham and Swiss cheese. We left feeling full, happy, and excited to have a new place to eat for breakfast and lunch that's a short distance from home! Now, don't get me wrong, Chef Andrew's bread, breakfasts, and by the looks of the plates I saw with his lunch meals, have been and look delectable. However, the one event we were eager to attend the most, was his prix fixe menu dinner. We were both free that evening and opted for the later dinner. It was a wonderful group of people who also love great meals, conversation, and of course the chef! We studied the menu beforehand but still had no idea what to expect. We were both pleasantly surprised by the elegant touches on the table, place cards for seating, candles, and a beautiful centerpiece. None of which took away the carefully curated four course meal with mocktail pairings that were about to grace the table. First up with the crudo, Hamachi with a serrano, cilantro, and chili aioli - Leche de Tigre. The sauce it was served with was light, refreshing, and complemented the fish well. The mocktail pairing was, Verde No. 5, Cilantro, lime, and cucumber sparkling. Just as refreshing as the sauce the Hamachi was served with. Bread was also served on the table and it was the perfect thing to do like the Italians do and, Fare La Scarpetta. Next up was the Duck ravioli, enjoyed along side a Basil de blanc mocktail, basil, white grape juice, lemon sparkling. The ravioli was served with parmesan fonduta with basil and lemon. It felt hardy without being too much, we knew the main course was coming shortly after this and I knew I wanted to be full of each and every bite. The star of the meal was absolutely the Wagyu Ribeye paired with the Scarlet Begonias mocktail consisting of beet juice, mint, carrot juice, lemon and ginger beer. The Wagyu was served with parsnip puree, beets and asparagus. This was just right for both of us. The marbling made way for delicious, tender, and tasty bites. Dillon and I looked at each other after finishing that course with unspoken gratitude. Truly exquisite. To finish off a brilliant meal Chef Andrew ended the evening with an egg nog creme brulee topped with some fruit and a side of a smiling gingerbread cookie. It was the perfect amount of egg nog to creme brulee taste and the gingerbread delighted the dessert with its holiday cheer. We are immensely proud of Chef Andrew and Cheyanne! The dinner was excellent, the execution was immaculate and the meal was worth talking about until the next prix fixe dinner comes around. But truly, don't get lost with all of the breads, breakfasts, and lunches at All in Thyme, keep your eyes peeled for more of these dinners in the future. And maybe, be like this humble Elite and make your way around the new menu, breads, butters and also find a way to enjoy these special dinners, it will only expand your palate even more!

We swung by River's Edge Café inside Prairie Flower Casino for a quick Saturday night bite, and let…read moreme tell you--it totally hit the spot. We wanted our food to-go, and the staff didn't even blink. Everything came neatly packed with utensils, making it super easy to grab and go. Honestly, whether you dine in or take it out, it's all served the same way--do with that what you will. We kicked things off with the chips and queso. The white queso had green chiles and just the right amount of heat, with a side of salsa that made it even better. Were the chips basically Tostitos? Yes. Did I care? Not one bit--they were still delicious. For $7, the portion was generous and perfect for sharing (or not). My husband ordered the Prairie Flower Burger and fries ($15), a double patty blend of ground beef and brisket topped with caramelized onions and your choice of cheese. He polished it off without a single complaint. It was hot, fresh, and exactly what you want in a burger. And the fries? Crispy, golden, and plentiful. I went with the club sandwich and house chips, and wow--that triple-decker meant business. For $12, the value was fantastic. My only tiny complaint? I wish they'd used full lettuce leaves instead of chopped--it got a little messy. But those house chips? Fresh, crispy, and borderline addictive. I'm officially hooked. Bonus points: you get a front-row seat to the casino floor while you wait. It's like dinner with built-in entertainment. Plus, the staff were all friendly and upbeat, which made the whole experience even better. The best part? We live just five minutes away, so everything was still piping hot by the time we got home. Their All Day Menu runs until 11 PM on weekdays and goes all the way until 2 AM on Fridays and Saturdays--perfect for night owls or anyone needing a late-night bite after hitting the slots. If you are a veteran, don't forget to tell them--you will get an extra 10% discount! I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu--and I've already got my eye on breakfast next time.

Let me lead off with the fact that this is probably the best multi-roaster shop I've ever been to…read more I've loved specialty coffee since before it was cool to love specialty coffee, and I've hit hundreds--if not thousands--of coffee shops all across North America looking for golden pourovers. This place is absolutely IT. They have a rotating selection of specialty roasters such as DAK and B&W, and the experience and expertise to do them justice. The ambiance is warm and amazing, and I feel incredibly welcome here. If you're looking for an amazing place to get a true cup of specialty coffee, and you happen to be in Omaha, you don't need to read anything else--just give them a try. However, if you aren't really sure what I mean when I say "specialty coffee," or why this is such a big deal for me ("It's just a cup of joe!?"), please read on. WARNING: Coffee geek out ahead! "Coffee" is a berry, much like a large, firm cherry, that grows in equatorial climates. The seed of this berry, when the "meat" is removed, is dried, stored, shipped, roasted, and ground; water of the appropriate temperature is introduced for an appropriate amount of time to achieve a partial extraction of the acids and oils that make up the structure of the seed. Every step of that process, from the nutrients in the soil of the growing region to the precise duration of the pour / the partiality of the extraction changes the flavor substantially. Coffee, roasted until it dries and its proteins have just begun to undergo the mailliard reaction, ground evenly to a consistency somewhere between table salt and ground pepper, combined with 94-95°C water at about a 17:1 ratio by weight, and then filtered to remove the partially-extracted ground coffee, will yield a cup with remarkably wild flavors--berries, flowers, and explosion of floral aroma. It can taste like strawberries and cream, or blueberries, or caramel and peach, depending on any or all of the factors above. As a crop highly subject to the variation of its growing season, however, sometimes those flavors can trend to less pleasant, or not mix well in milk, or dominate a beverage that they're mixed into. Further, the coffee harvest season is not a single time of year--you need to follow the coffee calendar around the world to know what's in season at any given time. For large coffee shops, or roasters that specialize in "coffee beverages," or even specialty shops that exist in a market that requires them to maintain a consistent base espresso or blend for their regular, non-specialty customers, or who are subject to a pricing cap that rotating lots will exceed, that level of variation is often undesirable, and the cup results will likely be unappreciated by the body of the clientelé. So it can be desirable to "unify" that wildness to focus on round, caramel notes and big body. The one thing that unifies the flavor of coffee, more than any other single factor, is the roasting process. When you want to use coffee as a beverage base with a "generic coffee flavor," you want to reduce the wildness of the flavors and enhance the body flavor, and so you subject the seeds to a more prolonged roasting process that results in the evulsion of oils, and gives you a body that milk settles into for that "roasty toasty bold rich" flavor. People like me, who are looking for those wild, sweet, floral, mind-altering cups refer to all of these as "over roasted," although we can appreciate roast variation and coffee blending for espresso beverages. With the preamble out of the way, 99.9% of coffee in North America is what specialty coffee enthusiasts refer to as "bad." That includes Dunks, Folgers, Horties, Chock full, and so on, ad nauseam. Worse than that, for us, is what we consider "gross"--Starbucks, Peet's, Philz, and so on, that is roasted so dark that it tastes, at its best, like bitter, undrinkable char. If you like any or all of these coffee brands, that's totally ok--I enjoy the "bad' coffee as a nice, warm beverage with milk and sugar. (I can't drink the "gross" coffee, though). And as I said, it's almost certain that, despite the exhortations of people you know about how "good" their favorite coffee is, that you've never had true specialty coffee. That's something I'd like to help change--even if people try it and find that they prefer sweetened milk drinks, I think everyone owes it to themselves to try a pourover from an epic coffee shop. Astute is such a shop. These guys absolutely rule.

I really wanted to love this spot. Astute Coffee is absolutely beautiful inside -- clean, warm,…read morethoughtfully designed, and somewhere you actually want to linger. The branding and overall vibe feel intentional, and I genuinely appreciate their mission and what they're trying to build in Omaha. That part really stands out. That said, the coffee itself didn't quite hit for me. I ordered a seasonal latte and was excited for something distinctive, but the flavor felt pretty muted. It tasted more like a standard latte than something seasonal or layered. Not bad by any means -- just not memorable. I'd still come back to try something else because the space and concept are strong. I just hope the drinks lean a little more bold next time.

As a slow coffee drinker, I love being able to take my coffee with me when I'm ready to leave. The atmosphere is great as well, especially the patio. Our first visit was during a busier time, and while our server was incredibly friendly, the patio didn't get checked on very often beyond ordering and food delivery. When we came back a few days later and sat inside, the service was fantastic. Multiple staff members checked on us throughout our meal, and the experience felt much more attentive. It may have just been a difference between the patio and indoor seating or the level of busyness. Overall, we were impressed enough to come back within three days, which says a lot. One thing to be prepared for tall people... the seat and table height are not great. You'll be crouching down to get food in your mouth before it falls off of your fork. The tables are low, and the seats are too high. As a shorter person I had to crouch and slouch over my food to get it into my mouth. This, sadly would be the one reason I'd not return.
