The backyard itself turned out nice, and overall, the construction only took one day to complete,…read morewhich was definitely a positive. Unfortunately, our overall experience with the communication and professionalism--particularly with Otem--was extremely frustrating. When we initially discussed the project, Otem told us that we wouldn't have to make a payment until the following month. Based on that conversation, we understood that we had time before anything was due and felt comfortable moving forward. What made the situation even more frustrating is that construction was started before we were even approved for the loan. We were never clearly informed about what our financial responsibility would be if the financing didn't work out as expected. Once the backyard was completed, we were suddenly told that we owed around $3,800. We were understandably confused because this was not what we had been led to believe. Ultimately, we had to take out two separate loans to cover the project. We understand that financing terms and APR are based on credit, and we are not blaming Otem for the interest rate we qualified for. Our issue is that this conversation should have happened before construction started. If our financing hadn't even been approved yet, we feel that we should have been made aware of the potential costs and financial responsibility before the work was completed. When we tried explaining this to Otem, it felt like he wasn't understanding what we were actually upset about. Regardless of whether he personally handles financing or another department does, customers should be clearly informed about their financing, payment expectations, potential out-of-pocket costs, and APR before a major project begins. Unfortunately, the financial issues weren't even our only concern. During the construction process, our backyard gate was left open, and our dogs got out and ran away. Thankfully, we were able to find them, but this was incredibly stressful and could have ended very differently. When working in someone's backyard, especially when there are pets on the property, making sure gates are securely closed should be a basic responsibility. Overall, we are happy with how the backyard looks and appreciated that the project was completed in just one day. However, the lack of communication regarding the financing, the unexpected $3,800 balance, having to take out two loans, and the incident with our dogs made the overall experience much more stressful than it needed to be. We hope the company takes this feedback seriously and improves communication about financing before construction begins, as well as being more careful about securing gates and protecting customers' pets while working on their property.

I shouldve known not to go with this company based on the pushy door to door salesman trapping me…read morein my driveway but went against my better judgement based on the fact he said they could fix some rotted wood beams we've been meaning to fix but couldn't find anyone to do. The beams were done perfectly fine in a timely manner. Based on this, and all the great reviews here my father then agreed to have them renovate our entire house after an 8 hour conversation. We were told doing all the projects we wanted to do at once would be cheaper. This is where the problems started. We were told they were to start the very next day which put us in a panic trying to pack everything up the night before. Most of the work they did contained errors which involved them having to fix them such as repainting twice, some rooms even three times to fix everything. Personal items including my dresser & some night stands were broken in the process. The night stands had to be thrown away and they tried to fix the dresser but broke it again in the process. They also somehow cracked the tile floor in my bathroom which wasn't apart of the project. It seemed like there was no care or regard for our stuff as they moved it around. When we brought up to our point of contact about the crew cleaning up after themselves we were told "they aren't a cleaning service". Didn't know workers are allowed to leave messes and not clean up after themselves. The whole process has been putting stress on the whole house animals included. I can't recall a single part of this project that was smooth sailing. Always in the dark not being in the loop on what's happening in my own house. Everything was on a day to day basis on knowing what was being worked on. But it'll look beautiful in the end so it's okay right? My house isn't even done. We are supposed to be in the final stretch of the project but because they need to keep fixing their mistakes it's taking longer, which would be fine except the crew seems to have moved onto the next project and we are being bullied into trying to keep their mistakes so they don't have to fix them. Side note, there's also been complaints about how far away we live from the workers and how troublesome the commute is. But when we offer to communicate via phone we are told they have to come in person. If that's a problem you should reconsider what areas you service. Does my house look great? Sure, after we forced them to fix everything (which they havent as of writing this review). But the mental toll this project has taken isn't worth it. I'd run far away. The pushy door to door salesman's & all the negative reviews just show you how this company is run. Not to mention how expensive their prices are to be dealing with all these mistakes and cut corners. I wouldn't recommend House to Homes to anyone. Everyone who has heard the saga of how horrible of an experience this was has asked me for the name so they know who to avoid and are upset on my behalf. Like I said they did the beams just fine so maybe they work better for smaller projects if you're willing to take the risk.

I've worked with Jason and his team twice over the past four years--first for our backyard patio,…read moreand most recently for an interior project raising a room addition that sat 2 1/2 inches lower than the rest of our house before new flooring. Jason is simply a joy to work with. His communication is clear, honest, and reliable. He doesn't overcommit, he doesn't overpromise, and he delivers exactly what he says he will. I noticed this when he did our patio years ago, and it's been consistent in our recent project as well. What stands out most is the way Jason personalizes each job. Both projects had unique challenges, and he not only accommodated them but also prescribed solutions that resulted in both a beautiful finish and long-lasting quality. Another area where Jason shines is customer service--even after the job is complete. My communication with him didn't stop once he was paid. He remained just as responsive to questions and concerns afterward, following through with his word and ensuring we were fully taken care of. I highly recommend JB Concrete.
