Jason came out and gave us an estimate for a patio cover. Seemed reasonable. Responsive to questions good customer service. Will text and email. He is two months out on his installation. I will update the review after the job is done. UPDATE: Jason came out today to measure. Very personable young man. He requires 10% down when you sign the contract. Half of the balance to be paid when they order the materials to be paid when you receive the bill which takes a couple weeks. He said he would throw in an extra drain spout for no extra charge. Great Folks. Patio cover service is probably close to best in the business for the area. Have all the insurance and licenses you need and will provide. Very very competent and great people. Also, aided with the permit and was a breeze. As far as value goes, labor is generally costly (as expected for quality work), but here is the thing you can always find someone cheaper. I received a phone call or an email each time there was a update (materials ordered, etc.) and sometimes when there were no updates (just to let me know they were waiting for materials, etc.). We purchased an older, partially remodeled mobile home in November 2021. One item we added to our priority replacement list was changing out single pane windows to quality dual pane windows. We had heard great things about Merriman's from our realtor, so called them first. We had an estimate within a week from a very thorough representative from Merriman's. Due to COVID delays we understood and were willing to wait about six weeks for custom windows to be made. Hector, the lead and his companion were very professional when it came to installation. The installers arrived on time and exactly as scheduled. They placed drop cloths in the doorway to avoid tracking anything in the house. The windows look fabulous and already we can tell our home is more secure, warmer. What an extra touch, they even cleaned all the windows - inside and out so the windows sparkle! Had a handful of estimates given for a concrete driveway, and while not the lowest offer, James spent the most time brainstorming the details with me and not trying to change what I wanted (due to several contractors not able to replace the curb with an approach). While the project was broken into several steps with a few days between each (or rain delay), their office did a good job of letting me know when to expect the next phase. James made sure to work with me during the process and insure I was happy, or make adjustments as needed. A large sprinkler head blew off a golf course's sprinkler system and went through my mother's living room window. High pressure water flowed into her manufactured home for over 45 minutes and caused massive damage. Merriman's bid was in-line with the others but they have more experience in repairing manufactured homes and have been in business much longer than the others so we choose them. They were always on time and very courteous. Their workmanship was excellent. For example, they replaced the damaged floor with tongue and groove plywood where everyone else quoted pressed wood.They did everything from the insulation, re-leveling, sub floor, painting, etc. to ordering and installing the final window blinds. I used to flip homes for years (too old now) and did most of the work myself. I have a very high standard. They met and even exceeded my expectations. Our family has had Merriman's work for us since September of 2018. They have always done excellent work for us. We have spent a great deal of money over the years for Merriman's to make our mobile home improvements. Sadly, I report the most recent ongoing job by Merriman's to be proceeding very badly with mistakes, neglect, delays, problems after problems. The management seems to want to protect the workers more than to supportively assure us as being their good and loyal customer. At least, that's the feeling I get. I don't know whether the decline is due to the Covid lockdown effect, or the current negative climate for small business in California. Whatever it is, I have lost all confidence in Merriman's. I do not anticipate doing further business with them. This makes me very sad and today I have been crying over it. It's like losing a good friend. Not sure what changed from our positive experience to the lack of follow-up. Very disappointed in the follow-up. The references all said they come back and take care of anything in the first year. That has not been our experience. We spoke with James about a leaking bathroom sink about 7 months after he finished and couple of other issues. It obviously has been leaking for awhile. Said he'd be out. Never did. Called him and his office. Neither he nor his staff contacted us. Texted, called and emailed repeatedly. No response. Disappointing. Looking for a plumber. read more

Merrimans did an excellent job on my backyard & cementing my front side yard. James, Abram, the electrician (sorry I forgot his name...), and the office ladies, Monique and Tammy were great. I had an issue with the patio cover guy Steve though who basically accused me of lying about paperwork that he never left. He also had quite a temper with the city when it was time to get approvals done & wanted my mother to sign paperwork that should be signed by me alone. Also, other than Monique & Tammy, no one seemed to communicate properly. I never knew when they'd be coming back to continue work unless I caught them before leaving or called the office. This was a bit frustrating as I had to leave my yard unlocked for them to get in. All in all though, I'm happy with how the yard turned out & when there were issues, they did what they could to make it right. I had a small bathroom project to do in my home so I called them for a quote. In the end, it was an insurance claim so I decided to do the job myself to save the labor fees and upgrade our bath. Bought older coach. Was sure it needed a new roof even though home inspection said it was good. (5th mobile I have owned). 13 years ago Merriman had good reputation so decided to give them opportunity to bid. They are excellent and I am very happy. Fellow came to give bid. He took his time and took pictures to show me problems so that I could ask any questions I wanted. At end he took plenty of time to answer my questions. He gave me a date when they come and would have 3 guys here. They came when agreed, had two men and supervisor. All worked hard for the whole 3 days they were here. I got new roof on double wide (about 1300 sq ft and two porches as they had been done wrong previously and needed a lot of help. Didn't know who to get and got 2 estimates. They were a little higher but the professionalism, work ethic and quality service was well worth it and I feel very safe. Also there was an immediate change in heat as their new insulation has made a difference and the dog is happy as it is not so noisy when the wind comes up. Give them a call at least for an estimate and then make your decision off of that appointment. Don't think you will go wrong. read more

I wouldn't necessarily say their price was higher (for the better quality). I had 3 itemized quotes to compare, each had high & low variances on the line items. Merriman's quotes were competitive on my project. They put in vinyl fencing, aluminum patio cover with concrete slab, rain gutters and widen the driveway for a second car parking for me. The entire process was just what I wanted - a non-event for me. As I know nothing about the remodeling or maintenance stuff around the house, they took care of everything, including resolving surprises came from the city inspector. Steve literally chased after the issue all the way into the City Hall and resolved it. Everyone I have dealt with at Merriman's were professional at what they do, this include the office personnel too. Worked with Ralph Trejo from Merriman's to add concrete to my driveway for RV parking extending all the way to the side of my house with a retaining wall and 2 columns for a driveway wrought iron gate. They also removed multiple trees from my yard. My experience with him and the company was amazing. He was always very professional, knowledgeable, very clear and honest with the quote, showed up on time as expected every day, excellent communication, great quality of work, and always showed up with a positive attitude and a smile on his face. They kept telling us how much extra they were doing, going above and beyond, however there were several mistakes and incorrect orders, with plenty of excuses and outright lies.
