I've taken my dog Louie to Mitzi a few times now since I've moved to Austin and she is wonderful. My dog is a Maltipoo and has separation anxiety so grooming in general is not his favorite but he seems to do well here- much better than other groomers I've taken him to. I book all my appointments and we do all our communicating over text so it's super convenient for me and I think she charges a fair amount, especially for the Austin area. She works alone so she keeps the door locked but I don't see an issue with that at all. A few reviews on here saying she is rude seems unimaginable to me but I'm sure she just doesn't deal with non-sense. I've always had a great experience here and will keep coming back! read more

I took my pup here for his first grooming ever, and Mitzi did a fantastic job! You get 15% off your first groom. She only does a handful of grooms a day, so make sure you call her in advance! This place is located next door to a used car lot, but don't be fooled by her location. She has years of experience and listens carefully to what you want. My rambunctious pup doesn't sit still but came out of there with no cuts, and seemed completely happy. He was not shaking or traumatized, at all -- and even ran back to give Mitzi some doggy kisses. The only reason why she doesn't get 5 stars, is because it is such a small place. She is the only one that works here, so sometimes she won't be able to answer the phone while she's bathing, blow drying, or giving a dog a haircut. Leave a message, she'll get back to you. Oh and if you go, tell her Stephanie J. referred you! Anytime you refer someone, you get $5 off your groom. So if you get enough referrals your next groom could be free! lol. I've been taking my dog here over a year now and he always comes out looking and smelling wonderful. This is a small, 1 woman shop. She does bath, haircut, nails clipped, ears cleaned, teeth brushed, anal glands and a blueberry facial for $80. My dog is about 25lbs so I'm sure the price will vary based on the size of your dog. Well worth the money and honestly not a bad price. She is always very responsive and flexible and my dog always stays feeling fresh for a very long time. Don't take your dog here. Im so disappointed with the the owner/only groomer. I left a good review before but as time went on it was apparent that the owner has social interaction issues. I tried to tolerate this even when she interacted with me and my husband in rude and wired ways. The it seemed that one of my dogs repeatedly had his ear knocked. She blames the dog for moving but how could it happen time after time. I always asked for a schnauzer cut. My husband took them in today and asked for a short cut. They look like rats and you can't tell they are schnauzers. I called and told her it wasn't her fault and asked that she only follow my directions in the future. Her response was to send an email canceling my next appointment. Total overreaction. if you take your dog to her I expect you will eventually experience the same. read more

Mitzi is a god-send! My peke-cocker mix, Walter, is touch sensitive. I don't know what happened to him in the four years of his life before he arrived at APA, but he really does not like getting groomed. I discovered this first when bringing him to another well-known groomer in the area. They weren't able to finish him (even when he had on a basket muzzle), and told me in the future they would consider bathing him but not grooming him. At first, I was disappointed but couldn't blame them. All Breed Dog Grooming is across the street from my apartment. I had passed it many times but never given much thought to the place with the simple sign and straightforward name, until Walter got so fluffy, and it got so hot out, and he was always covered in sticky burrs. I really wanted to help him out by getting him a shorter cut, but I just didn't know if there was anywhere I could take him. I was surprised to see All Breed had a handful of really good reviews here on Yelp, so I called and explained that Walter was very touch sensitive. Mitzi said that she had been grooming for 14 years and felt that she was up for the challenge. I brought Walter in, and he did indeed prove to be a challenge. Unlike other more "prissy" groomers out there, Mitzi showed extreme patience on that first time grooming him. She kept him from 8am to 2pm - sent me text updates and a picture, and gave him breaks when he needed them. Despite it being a nerve wracking experience for her (Walter gets pretty freaked out when the clippers come out and go anywhere near his neck/chest/feet), she managed to finish the grooming completely (not leaving his head and paws long like the other place did). And at the end, she explained to me what she did and how he handled it and suggested I bring him back from a couple baths during the summer as his hair grew out so he could get used to being groomed. Last week, I decided to bring him in for a bath, as we'd discussed, and Mitzi, on a hunch that it was the grooming table/noose that stressed Walter out, gave him a trim free of charge, and did his grooming on the couch, and on a table without the noose. She said he handled it much better, and that he just didn't like having stuff around his neck. She suggested when I picked him up that I bring him back once a month or so for a small trim and bath rather than letting his hair grow out and having to groom him from scratch (he's veryyyy fluffy). All I can say is God bless people like Mitzi, who have patience and compassion. She was certainly under no obligation to take a risk in grooming my sensitive and sometimes snappy pup, but she sympathized, and did, and even found a way to make it less traumatic for him. She even sends a pic when he's done or during to let me see how it's going. She shows Walter and her other four-legged clients with such affection that I know this is a labor of love for her. I can't say how relieved I am to have found All Breed Dog Grooming - and so lucky to have it right across the street! But if your dog is nervous about being groomed or you just want to be sure they are in loving hands while getting cleaned up, I'd definitely recommend All Breed!! I thought I should update my review after receiving two unsolicited messages from All Breed yesterday - more than a year after my original review and interaction. The messages were rude, unprofessional, and accused me of lacking compassion and decency when I interacted with the owner over the phone. I reported on my experience, as a potential customer. My original review was one star, but even-keeled and not defamatory. If the owner would have been forthcoming that she could not take on additional clients, or older dogs at the time I would have understood. But that was not explained. Denial of service with poor rationale and rudeness are exactly why forums such as Yelp exist. To be harassed because of an honest review is unacceptable and says a lot about this business. read more

Not impressed with their service. I called today to get pricing on her dog services, and the woman I spoke with acted like she couldn't be bothered. She answered the phone was an annoyed "hello", no company name or any level of friendly customer service voice. She was short tempered, and was difficult about give me a price from my small dog. I will not be going here for service nor will I recommend it to any of my neighbors with dogs. This company could use a lesson in proper customer service. read more

Blows my mind that anyone has had a less than perfect experience with Mitzi. One thing I especially appreciate about this one-woman shop is the fact she locks her doors to prevent just anyone showing up and taking our dogs or leaving the door open for our pets to get out into a busy street. She has a special little gated area for the doggies to get fresh air and do their business. Safety first! I see too many people here on Yelp complaining that they, a total stranger to a woman who works ALONE mind you, had to (gasp) wait outside for a minute or two. Get a grip. I bet you'd wait in line for days to eat at franklin's but I guess you're too awesome to wait a sec for someone who doesn't "know who you are" to unlock the door? LOL read more

They do NOT actually service all breeds. When my husband tried to get service for our terrier mix, they refused service citing that they don't handle "our breed of dog." Then, the woman working there followed my husband out to his vehicle yelling at him. Very rude. Our dog is 45 pounds and a good girl. There was no reason for this and I consider this false advertising and poor customer service. read more

I have been doing a lot of dog rescues for dogs that are about to get euthanized at ACS in San Antonio and these dogs are in pretty bad shape, they all have been abused mentally and physically and they have never been groomed. I called around asking if groomers can donate a free cut to these very brave deserving Dogs that had a very rough life. I even called my own personal groomer. Mitzy at All Breed Dog Grooming was the only person that offered to groom these sweet Dogs for free. So far she has groomed 6 of my dogs and she is so amazing. These are long hair breed dogs that have not been groomed in many years if ever at all, so there hair is in very bad shape. Mitzy Loves them, talks to them and gains there trust before she even grooms. When i came to pick up GG, my very first rescue dog to get groomed by her I didnt even recognize my dog. WOW!!! amazing, not only did she make this dog beautiful but this dog was smiling and wagging her tail, so she gained this dogs trust and made her feel so good, cutting away all of her matted up hair. All of my rescue Dogs have been adopted in wonderful loving homes with the help from Mitzy, she made these dogs look and feel beautiful again. I have also now started taking my own Dogs, my Yorkie Sammie and my Shih Tzu Alfie to Mitzy becasue she does such an amazing job. What I also Love, is that Mitzy never over books so she is not totally rushing. To many accidents happen and DOgs get hurt when groomers over book. Mitzy keeps it to a minimum so she can give her DOgs the best grooming experience ever and she doesnt put them in a dark room in a cage when they are done. she let's them chill with her and her Dog Chase Lamar, her Love bug that she rescued herself. I highly recommend Mitzy at All Breed Dog Grooming. I trust her with my Dogs and my dogs are my life so that says a lot. We loved Mitzi and All Breed Dog Grooming when we were using her. She was kind with our dogs and they loved going to visit her so it was sad when we were told that she could no longer groom one of our dogs because it took too much time and he was too skittish and very scared (they are also Maltese so their fur mats easily which isn't fun). Because I am a single parent working 2 jobs(and living 25 minutes away), it was hard to keep them on the regular schedule that was needed for them to not be a BIG mess. I truly believe All Breed was/is the best and Mitzi truly gets to know every pup and treats them as her own. This just isn't something you get in a chain grooming salon. My Tully's first hair cut was beautiful. I can not really express how handsome he was when I brought him home. I loved that Mitzi kept in contact with me the whole time and sent me photos of my boy (which I now use as desk top photos) before I came to pick him up. I HIGHLY recommend this groomer to everyone because of the care she gave my puppy when he was there. I love that she does one grooming at a time so she can give that one puppy all the attention he may need and not just rush through the cut. I made an appointment to take in my newly adopted Chihuahua for 8:30 am on a Saturday. I arrived about 7 minutes early, found the gate closed. I called her thinking maybe there was another entrance. About then she walked up and reminded me my appointment time was not for a few minutes. Yes I was early but was taken aback with her rudeness. She did notice and told me I could leave if I preferred. I had a spin class at 9am and didn't have time to go home and drop my dog off. I even thought maybe it was me over thinking her rudeness. She told me it would be about 3-4 hours. I'd never been to a groomer and it seemed quite a long time for an 8 pound dog..but again I don't know. She then told me it would take that long because she had her own dog there to care for and stray cats to feed. She also told me I needed to come as soon as she called since there is no parking and I couldn't be in the way when her next appointment arrived. I did leave my dog there and about 2 hrs later she was ready. My dog looked fine I guess. But this women is quick to anger so I would be afraid if my dog did something "wrong" how she would react. She definitely has anger issues! read more

Highly recommened! Mitzi did an amazing job on my recently adopted stray. My schnauzer/poodle mix was a mess and completely matted on her underside. I don't think she'd ever been to a groomer and was a little nervous. Mitzi was very gentle and let my dog warm up to her before she took her behind the counter. When I returned, not only did she look beautiful, but she didn't want to leave! She was laying on the couch with a toy perfectly content. All Breed Dog Grooming doesn't feel like a sterile grooming salon. It's warm, has plants, couches, pillows and smells good. I think this is why my dog felt so relaxed. Mitzi has been my groomer for years. I am sad to see how some people feel, and especially not having experienced the actual service. She runs her own shop, and has only two hands. She's good. And if one has trouble getting an appointment in any place, its a business in demand. I try to share a groom date with another poodle(another owner), aged 13. Old dog, bad hips, 65-70 lbs. We try to schedule the same day, so when the older dog gets tired, she can rest and my poodle, age 6 at 11 lbs and SQUIRMY(which I'll track back to) can get his groom in. Its just a routine that works well for all 3 of us. This is a business that's all about you DOG, not all about the owner. I know my grooms from Mitzi take about 4 hours. I know my dog will come out cute. as. hell. You can just look at the pictures. Mitzi has provided me unsolicited advice. But it was good advice. I was just open to listen, and understand that this is a lady that probably loves my dog more than she even likes me. My squirmy dog. He does NOT like to sit still. He likes to jump, he likes to lick, he's squirmy. We are in the park all the time, its 100 billion degrees, his hair is short short. My dog is on this website. But squirmy dog, he has been nicked once from the shaver. Only once. And she put medication on it and gave the most sincere apology ever. I didn't think it was that big of a deal, I know my dog can be a jerk. But I also wouldn't have known about doggy dental stuff had she not told me I was not taking care of his teeth adequately. If Mitzi has been my groomer since 2012, I have probably visited this salon at least 30 times. I couldn't say enough nice things. I couldn't take my dog anywhere else. read more

This woman is rude and was mean when talking to me and about my pet. This was the third time that i have used her. I woke late and called to reschedule she then told me I should come in while I was awake. I decided to simply bring my doggy in and was not told there would be added fees for dematting, it has been two months since his last grooming. I was expecting to pay $55 and wound up paying $89.50. She should have told me that the cut I wanted would cost me slightly more and have given me the option to accept or change my mind. She spoke to me in a rude tone and was less than kind. She did point out a possible sighting or ringworm which i appreciate but was less then kind pulling him by his harness. She preceded to tell me that she did not agree with my choice not to nuter my pet since we are wanting to breed him. I told her she was rude and we would no longer be using her services and she admitted she was rude. I could go on, but I will leave it at this. Mitzi continued to call my cell phone after I left to apologize to me and then continued to be rude to me. Do not use her! Her people skills are not at all what they should be and i do not feel she is worth my money. My dog is my life and she was all the way around rude, about me and my pet! read more
