The lady that runs this place is not very empathetic to emergency situations. Just be aware if your doggies are here and you need to extend your time with these women. This lady made me feel terrible because I had to leave them with her longer and made sure I knew that it was $80 a day to board my three dogs with her. I asked if there was any payment plan that I could do because it was so expensive for the 11 days that I had to leave my dogs with her which were not expected. Nope. It was only supposed to be three days. She would not have it. I paid her the full amount and picked up my dogs, but I would not recommend this facility. I do not know how my dogs were treated as I cannot ask them, but I do know they were really happy to come home. read more

I first found A Dog E Spa in 2011 when I moved to Bastrop from Colorado. What drew me in was their prices and the cottages for the dogs, but the reason I keep going back is their friendliness and their honesty. They have a no-nonsense approach to taking care of the dogs, and if they tell me my three hell hounds were wonderful, I know they really were, and if they got in trouble, I know that too! Since my last review we have used A Dog E Spa for grooming and boarding a bunch. My older dog just kept getting older...I hate when that happens! And they went out of their way to keep him comfortable in his autumn years. Recently I took our little ranch dog Shy Anne for grooming. Poor girl gets car sick and hates to leave the ranch. They took her in and made her feel loved and comfortable before I left. When I came to pick her up she was clean and happy ( but not looking forward to the ride home!) A Dog E Spa told me that they are more like a bed and breakfast for dogs vs a boarding facility. They like having customers who call and make reservations and they depend on word of mouth referrals. My dog was boarded three or four times here. The last time she reported that my dog and another was tugging on my dogs bed. She then called my dog a Tyrant. When I finally got to see my dog she was panting very heavily and would drink a lot of water. Don't know how long she was left outside. She then told me that I do not come here as often As the other client. read more

The gang at A Dog E Spa is the best and their facility is top notch. We have been boarding our dogs here since 2011 and are nothing but grateful for the care given to our "kids". We have used all of the services they provide to include daily stays, long term stays and grooming. Value, along with the customer service makes this place a no brainer! I'm not sure how these people are still in business. Just moving to the area, we wanted to compare kennels for our dogs. I mean, if I'm going to leave my dogs with you for the weekend, don't you think I want to see your facility? The woman on the phone was rude and refused let me come by unless I had an appointment after I asked for directions because they moved and apparently it's hard to find. Really? I moved here from Houston, and if you want my business, you better be friendly. The other facility gave me a tour to see if it would be a fit for our dogs. I work for the public and come in contact with a lot of people. I will make sure this place gets a bad review and I will definitely not recommend it. read more

We love Dog E Spa!! They love our dogs!! We've been boarding our dogs there for over ten years and have never had any problems. Each dog(s) has an air conditioned cabana where they can have their dog beds and toys. No cages! Plus, dog "siblings" (who are family members to us) get to be in a cabana together so they won't feel lonely. I always have to show their shot records because Dog E Spa is extra careful about Kennel Cough and other diseases not being spread to the other dogs. I also my dogs groomed there. They do an excellent job and it really cuts down on the shedding. I truly recommend Dog E Spa!! read more

I want to share with all of you pet lovers as I am, that in October 2011, my large dog was boarded at Dog E Spa, for the first time. Upon arriving, I was very pleasantly greeted and showed where my dog would be housed and explained his well plan of treatment by staff. When I returned eight days later to get my dog, I was not greeted for over 30 minutes waiting in the parking lot to anxiously pick up my dog. When he was brought to me, he was covered with mud up his legs, all over his stomach, under the neck and up to his mouth. He did not come to me as usual. When we arrived home I had to clean the WET mud from the dog. There had been no rain in Texas. He had raw sores under the chin from the wetness that must have been there for several days. He hid from me, his friends, he would not come to me when called in fear of what I believe was "caged". My dog is just now, December 24, acting more like himself and not afraid. I think he was put outdoors in a kennel, maybe sprayed with water, and did I mention that after arriving home and checking his bag, he had plenty of dried food and only 4 cans of wet food had been used. He also drank 2!. 2.5 gallon buckets of water. I thought he would vomit. It sure looked , like and seemed to be a great spa. By the way, my dog is a saint Bernard, no barker, only needs to go out to the bathroom 3 times a day, sleeps all the time, very loving, and absolutely snow white and clean. Well, my friends who saw him and his demenor after his stay at the Dog E Spa encouraged me to put an ad in the local newspaper. I did not because of preparing to move but please be aware that the introduction sitting room is not what your pet is getting. Animals cannot complain, cannot ask not to be taken back, cannot tell you about their stay, or even if they are hungry and thirsty, but knowing my pet so well----He was loud and clear.
