Lots of room for them to play with other dogs and run around, inside and outside facilities to accommodate cold or heat, and they get to play most of the day apart from when they are closed for lunch ("nap time") or in the evening after 7pm. My only improvement recommendation is if they would consider doing a report card with photos each day, that would be awesome! I was able to text in and ask about the status of my dog though, and they were very responsive. We will be back!!! Had a great first visit and my dog was very excited when we reached the property, she recognized it from her evaluation day and basically ran over to the front door. Oh also they were extremely kind to help me get my dog in and out of the car.

I've boarded my dog here plenty of times, most recent visit back in July 2023, and each visit has been pleasant. That said, I have referred many friends/neighbors and each one has had a lovely experience. This facility recently went through a renovation/revamp and moved across the street. While the location is a bit of a commute (depending where you live), it's worth it due to the spacious grounds, on-site staff, and competitive prices. Overall solid experience - I highly recommend!

Seeing her trot away with Annie and not look back when we leave speaks volumes and puts our minds at ease while we are away. Sadie is always exhausted when we pick her up from all of the running and play time she gets on the property. Several times, Sadie has needed medication for minor issues during her stay and Annie administered it without hesitation. Annie is also extremely accommodating when it comes to the drop off/pick up times. She even has given us random tips here and there when asked. We now live in the Fort Worth area and refuse to board Sadie anywhere here because we know that no place will compare to MRSD. Annie/MRSD is truly a gem!!! :)

They are so accommodating and fairly priced. We recently lost Kilo to bone cancer and we had Dr. Wahl walk us through the very hard and emotional process. She was so amazing guiding us while being the best advocate for Kilo and what's best for him. The whole team was incredibly helpful and very empathic during this hard time. My 3 young sons wanted to be there for the process and the team were so helpful with providing snacks & coloring and activities to preoccupy my kiddos. I felt so supported even at this difficult moment. They also sent sympathy cards from the team with his sweet paw prints and a heart felt notes after his passing. I highly recommend Dr. Wahl and everyone on the team. The service went beyond just doing their job- it was heartfelt and sincere. A place that will look after you and your pet when life gets tough.

My dog is a Great Dane with advanced dilated cardiomyopathy, atrial fibrillation, and congestive heart failure. He is essentially on hospice care and takes more than 30 medications a day. Because of his severe heart condition, his cardiologist has instructed that he cannot be vaccinated due to the risk to his heart. Bastrop Veterinary Hospital already knows this. My dog has been treated there before, including earlier this year when they performed tests that were ordered by his cardiologist. They have our account, his medical history, and all of this information on file. I scheduled a nail trim appointment because my dog is in pain from overgrown nails and he will not allow me to trim them at home. I explained his medical condition in the appointment notes and that he is reactive and would need to be handled carefully. Before the appointment, the clinic even called and left a voicemail reminding me to give him anxiety medication before coming in. I still had trazodone from a previous visit, so I medicated him 90 minutes before the appointment exactly as instructed. Getting him to the clinic is not easy. Car rides are extremely stressful for him because of his advanced heart disease. I specifically chose this clinic because it is close to my home and minimizes that stress. When we arrived, I told them I would wait in the car because he does not do well around other dogs. They initially agreed. However, they then brought me inside and had me wait in the lobby anyway while they prepared a room, which immediately put him into a stressful situation I had asked to avoid. When they finally took him to the back, I placed a muzzle on him and tightened it to make sure he could not get it off so that staff would be safe. They told me it would only take a moment. Six minutes later, someone came out with a clipboard and told me they could not perform the nail trim because he is not vaccinated. This was shocking and extremely frustrating. They already knew my dog's medical history. They had treated him previously without vaccinations because of his severe heart condition. They had just called me beforehand to ensure he was medicated for the visit. Yet no one bothered to mention that they would refuse treatment once I arrived. Instead, they let me go through the process of medicating a critically ill dog, putting him through the stress of a car ride, muzzling him, and waiting, only to tell me after the fact that they wouldn't help him. My dog is in pain because his nails cannot be trimmed safely at home, which is exactly why I brought him to professionals. If the clinic had simply called ahead of time and said they could not perform the service, that would have been understandable. Instead, they put a very sick dog through unnecessary stress and wasted our time. It was incredibly disappointing and frankly unacceptable.

When Clifford was returned, he had been shaven. Golden Retrievers are a double-coated breed which means that they should not be shaved for any reason as the undercoat functions to naturally regulate temperature and protect them from the sun. This has exposed my dog to harmful UV rays which could put him at a higher risk for cancer. Extremely unprofessional choice that was marketed as a cut which would "cool him off" for the summer. Despite my enthusiasm, the receptionist seemed disinterested, along with the 5 other workers at the front desk. I was asked about my dog's breed and they informed me they don't accept "bully breeds" though they reluctantly offered to meet him. It seemed they were doing me a favor rather than genuinely welcoming my pet. As we talked further, it became evident that their focus was primarily on boarding, with daycare almost an afterthought. They even mentioned the possibility of closing daycare on random days if they were too full, leaving me uncertain about their reliability. Throughout the interaction, I couldn't shake the feeling that they really could care less about having my dog there. It was disheartening to think that my dog was being judged primarily on his breed. In the end, I left feeling disappointed and frustrated. I'm a first-time dog mom, who really wants the best for her pup, and it definitely wasn't here.
