The worst movers. Their representatives that come to your home are professional, but their packers are not. They literally threw items from my garage into tall wardrobe boxes that are usually used for clothes. They showed no regard for crystal items, breaking many, throwing shoes on top of hats. They estimate the weight of our shipment to be 2,000 lb heavier than what the driver (Jody) told me when the truck arrived at our new location. I was so suspicious that I asked their estimator to return to our house a second time. The only reason I used them was based on US News and World report. I moved cross country and selected Mayflower, having had a good experience with them on previous cross country moves. While Mayflower people packed my items at the origin, it was loaded and shipped on a United Van Lines truck, then stored and delivered by All American. There were problems with all three phases of the move, but I think most of the issues occurred in the final phase. I have moved many times, - company paid, self paid, U-Haul, Pack-Rat shipping containers, local moves, long distance moves, you name it. This move was by far my worst experience, despite some kind people and good efforts by certain individuals at each step along the way. As Whitney stated in her review, things were all over the place. I had a dish pack marked "china cabinet" left in the garage - which required about a week of individual trips up the stairs with my precious items to get them to the china cabinet. I had a large wardrobe box packed with garage things (not packed by me) that was left in front of my couch in the living room (that one huge box took about a week to unpack, requiring, again, many trips down the stairs carrying heavy garage things), and numerous other "misfires" - daughter's bedroom boxes left in the garage, garage items left in my daughter's bedroom, etc. As soon as the truck arrived, I was told I was responsible for marking things - hence I would not be allowed to supervise the unloading or placement of my belongings. The movers didn't seem to have a supervisor, the person who would mark things as they came off the truck and make sure the movers carried and placed things properly, shook out and folded the moving pads, etc., before returning them to the truck. The marking was a pointless, exhausting effort. I had no idea what was there and what wasn't, all I could do was make illegible marks on tiny numbers I could barely see and I had no idea what was delivered and what wasn't, and no chance to inspect anything for damage. The first thing unloaded was my brown leather recliner sofa. I was dismayed when they plunked down a piece of hardware that had apparently come off the couch. No effort was made to fix or otherwise put back the hardware on the couch, so it's a little broken to this day. I could not understand the lack of care for my belongings. In every previous move, things like my antique trunk, my china cabinet, my jewelry armoire, etc., were carefully packed - wrapped in pads, supported with cardboard even, and securely bound with plastic wrap until such time as the furniture was carried to its designated spot in my new location. The furniture is unloaded in its protected state and the protective wrapping is not removed until the item is position in my house. My antique trunk - for the first time ever in 40 some years of moving - was loaded on the truck with no pads at all and turned on its side - unbelievable. The fragile leather handles - which had survived for 150 years, were destroyed by movers trying to pick up the trunk (filled with Christmas ornaments by the way) by the handles - despite me specifically telling anyone and everyone that under no circumstances was the antique trunk to be lifted by its handles and that it MUST be loaded upright and protected with pads and shrink wrap. Ripping the pads off before items were unloaded from the truck is the reason that the legs for my coffee table were never located, why so many of my nice Ethan Allen and Pottery Barn wood furniture was dinged, and my jewelry armoire spilled. Of course, I couldn't know what was missing until I unpacked every box and searched every container to verify that the things were, for sure, missing. At that point, I filed a claim which was, of course, denied. I loved that coffee table and miss it. The jewelry losses are heartbreaking. Fortunately, by pure luck and happenstance, anything of significant value was not in the armoire, or the loss could have been much worse. Despite the movers not being required to reassemble all of my stuff (less to assemble than what was taken apart), I was charged a fee for "additional services" above the fixed price - the nature of the "additional" was never explained to me - the lady on phone said, when I asked, "Oh, they put together your bed - or something" - yes - they did - but that was not additional - that was mandatory since Mayflower took it apart in the first place. There is MUCH more I could say, but the lasting memory is how unrelentingly critical the moving men were of my stuff. They complained more than once that I had too much and I should not have so much - this despite the fact that I had gone to great lengths to sell, donate, and throw away a vast amount before I moved. I had done everything in my power to minimize the items I moved cross country. I have basic belongings that comfortably fill a three bedroom house and a garage, a modest quantity of possessions by any reckoning. Overall a disappointing experience that will haunt me for years to come. read more

NEVER GO HERE Sorry but please no one else ever trust this business... i lost at least $1000 dollars assuming they wouldn't toss or steal my things... and i honestly would've taken the abuse if they had't've --thrown away literally my entire high school journal (including all the the art, stories, and entries i made) i have made continuous journals since i was 7 and it has caused me incredible pain to know i will NEVER get back those days experiences of an entire half decade of my life simply because this business doesnt care and needed to optimize their space Without ever informing me that they had put 1/3 my stuff in the garbage disposal and i will never have the chance to get back lol. ngl i hope everyone who was employed late 2019-early2012 in this business is uncomfortable for the rest of their lives. -my fridge with both freezer and chiller compartments mysteriously disappeared and never came back! -lost my full size and travel size Angel Muse perfume bottles (~$120ish) i have nothing from my great grandmother who is senile now. Great win for the durham middle class! -the brother of my estranged father sent me a birthday gift with a letter for my 20th bday that i was scared to open, this company lost it forever so i will never know what it said and will probably never try to contact my biological father again. If you like your home furniture and decorations, don't use these clowns. They destroyed a Marge Carson Buffett, then refused to repair or replace it. They put what looks like blue tape on the unit, when the tape was removed, so was the finish. I'm moving my office at the end of the year and had planned on using them, after using them to move my home. Stay away...they are terrible and refused make good on damage they created. This was honestly the worst moving experience with a company. We hired them to pack and move us from NC to GA. Everything seemed fine until our items were delivered. Upon delivery our boxes were all over the home in rooms they weren't meant for. Most boxes didn't contain what was written on them. Most were containing items that were from numerous rooms. Nothing was well organized. We had numerous boxes piled in our third car garage that we didn't even realize were in the garage door until the day after they were delivered. Not to mention almost all of our claims were denied. They used the excuse that because the broken glass items had been disposed of (despite taking clear and numerous photos) of each broken item, that they would not pay for the broken items. I'm sorry but who keeps broken glass laying around????? I have small children. Anyway, their lack of customer service or care to stand behind their word is appalling. I would never have expected this after spending over 14 thousand dollars with a company! What a joke! Save your money and go elsewhere. We have used two other companies and this was by far the worst. Also! We had to have our entire 10 thousand dollar formal dining table refinished bc of their handling. Here are just a few pictures of the furniture damaged. This led me to kindly say that I am gonna pass on the quote at this time. Rudely he hung up without saying anything before I could finish my sentence. All American - We DON'T Deliver! That should be their motto. This company is very slick on the upfront sales part of the equation. And then very slippery on the actual delivery end. They say they need 5 days notice to organize delivery (then, of course, time to deliver). We gave them more than two weeks notice. And still they haven't even loaded our contents to ship. Consequently, we are out of our temporary housing and moving into a new house with no furniture. Basically, they have told us they will ship it when it's convenient to them. They operate under the Mayflower name - as an agent (probably because their own name is so maligned on the internet by numerous people who have had similar experiences to mine). Mayflower should drop them as an agent to protect their reputation. And people looking to move should AVOID ALL AMERICAN AT ALL COSTS. read more

I recently hired All American relocation to move my office furniture from my office to an a vacant store front three doors down (less than 500 yards) and then back to my office over the weekend of June25th. Prior to the move, I met with Brad Plummer, the owner, and told him that I was very worried about my furniture being damaged. It was all brand new furniture, less than 3 months old, and in perfect condition. He assured me that it would be well taken care of and that they were bonded and insured. I paid over $1,500 for them to move two desks, 1 credenza, 1 small kitchen table, 4 lobby chairs, 2 side tables, and 12 boxes. Prior to the move, I took pictures of all the furniture. When everything was moved back into my office, my administrative assistant and I took a thorough look to see if anything had been damaged. My desk had gouges all along the side of it and the drawers no longer closed properly. My administrative assistant's desk had a two inch scratch on it. A wooden side table has been handled so roughly that two legs were detached and had blue marks on them. Lastly, a kitchen chair had also been damaged. Brett Plumber, the owner, was made aware of the damages to the furniture. He sent a repair man out to handle it. The repair man said it could all be fixed except the side table and the drawers on my desk. My administrative assistant called their office over 4 times with no response to get these items fixed. After over a week and a half with no response, I sent an e-mail to Mr. Plumber. When I told Mr. Plumber that the end table could not be fixed, he declined fixing it because he had already sent his repair man out. He also acted as if the repair was not his fault and that the blue marks were to minuscule to worry about. I would not recommend anyone entrust anything of value to All American relocation. Their website states they will do "whatever it takes" but there is nothing further from the truth. read more

We hired all American relocator's for our move it was a fiasco from the day the movers showed up they showed up with no mask and two injured man one running a fever but unable to do the job and I hired A guy to help them out out of my own pocket they were supposed to be there on a Saturday around 5 o'clock on Sunday they finally got my stuff loaded and pulled out around 530 on Monday the new owners were unable to take possession of the house on the day of closing. All American relocator's underestimated their bed but almost triple I can understand being off a couple hundred feet but 900 ft.³ is a little excessive it lets me know that they do not know how to do their job adequately I incurred a lot of charges for packing materials that were supposed to be included when I spoke to Sierra and customer service she was unable to reimburse me adequately she felt $100 with sufficient my bid was originally 4980 and once the movers came and got me packed in the truck it was over $10,000. I was assured by the person I was working with at all American relocator's that they were always pretty close on their estimate maybe with and three to $500 which was doable even 1000 I could've understood. I was on the phone at least 7 to 9 times per day asking where the driver was put on hold 30+ minutes each time he was in on Saturday he was in route which he never was. I am so upset with this company I would never recommend them ever read more

This company was subcontracted to deliver a mattress to us. I guess that's what led to their utter lack of interest in actually delivering it. The customer service was terrible from the start, and we still don't have the mattress. First they had a phone contact system for scheduling the delivery that meant you never actually set up the delivery (a person calls and leaves you a message that you need to call them, you do, and the number they give you is an automated message system that says they will call you back and not to call more than once a day). I would leave a message saying "tell me what my choices are so I can at least leave a message saying when you can come" and I would get a message saying "please call and leave a message". Two days of this Kafka-esque experience (I called 5 times) and I was searching the internet for a different number. I contacted the company that subcontracted them, got a human on the first try, that person connected me to a live person at All American, and that's how I got an appointment--for two business days later, window of 2-6pm. So I took time off work (4 hours) to sit at home and wait for a delivery on the appointed date. Part of the set-up is they are supposed to call you a half hour before they arrive, so when I hadn't heard from anyone at 5:30 I started to get nervous. At 5:45 I started calling them--of course, no one was still at work except the dispatcher--he told me that the trucks were still out, but that he worked with another area and couldn't tell me anything more specific. At 5:52, my delivery driver called to tell me he was on his way to another delivery in Hillsborough but I was next after that and was it okay that he would be getting to me late? (Keep in mind that means the window they gave me was never possible, since he still had one more delivery 20 minutes away.) I said yes, as long as it was tonight since I couldn't take more time off work. At 8:15 I called to see where he was, and he said that he was on Roxboro Rd in Durham (so obviously not on his way to Hillsborough already when I had spoken to him 2 hours earlier), and there was a problem with the lift gate. At 10:30, He called again to say that the truck was getting towed but that he would make sure the office knew to put me first in the next morning's deliveries. Now I absolutely understand the truck problems were no one's fault. But the truck problems occurred several hours after my 4-hour delivery window, which I willingly expanded by 4 and a half more hours after that just to get the darn mattress that day. The next morning at 8am, I got a call from someone in the office who told me that my delivery not only wasn't going to be first, but she was doing me the HUGE FAVOR of making it available to me from 11-3 instead. Note that this means she had spoken to the driver and he had expressed our need to get it that morning (I said by 9 would be okay, and he said they start loading the trucks at 6:30am). Of course, since I work in Burlington and had meetings, I couldn't be home at 11. She actually told me that other people had been promised deliveries, so they had to be taken care of first! I pointed out that I had been promised a delivery *for the day before*, and she agreed, but she just kept repeating that they could come from 11-3 (in a tone that implied she expected me to thank her!), which I likewise kept pointing out I couldn't be home for. I finally had to put my partner on the phone because I was becoming angry. My partner got the same repeated non-responses and was asked to consider the rep's perspective (the rep apparently could not do the same for us). We finally said we could take a delivery between 5 and 7pm (which by the way involved one of us leaving work early), which the All American rep said she would arrange (in a tone that was clearly doubtful). A half hour later, of course, she called back to say that she couldn't guarantee delivery *at any time* after 5pm, and we would have to accept delivery the following morning between 7:30 and 8am. A second promise to be first on the list, two days after our scheduled delivery. I guess they have indefinite storage capacity and can put something on a truck three days in a row, no problem. Only problem? Actually delivering it. And being able to accurately estimate delivery time. Surely they have enough experience at this point to make this operation work more smoothly, and at least apologize genuinely and accept their fault when it doesn't? No. I waited 9 hours over 2 days and there was no hope of my delivery ever reaching me in that time, and everyone knew it except me. And apparently other customers' later deliveries are more important than mine and everyone else's time is more valuable than mine. You shouldn't have to contact the contracting company just to reach a human to schedule your appointment, and you certainly should be able to count on a 4-hour (or 9-hour 2-day) delivery window. So no, I wouldn't recommend this company. read more

The biggest mistake I ever made!!! Even though AAR knew we had 8 rooms of furniture and 130 boxes the movers didn't show up until 3:41 PM and did not finish until 12:20 AM with their diesel truck running and their lift operating after midnight when our neighbors were trying to sleep. They had no lights with them so by 9:00 PM they were trying to take furniture apart in the dark. When I went back the next day to clean before the new owners came in I discovered multiple marks and gouges in the walls which required repainting. God only knows what our furniture looks like. An even bigger issue is the terrible job they did "estimating" how much space our things would take up. After our final inventory check we got a revised, much higher estimate. OK. No choice but to go with it. When the truck was finally loaded all of a sudden there's an additional $1,330 charge because it took up more cubic feet. We didn't add any items and the movers did not even get all of the items on our list on the truck. We now have to rent a U-Haul to move the items they didn't get on the truck. When I called to complain and pointed out it's their job to correctly figure out how much space they'll need I kept getting the same answer - "It's just an estimate." They were completely unwilling to give us any kind of compensation. And as they're holding our belongings hostage we have no recourse but to bend over! DO NOT USE THIS TERRIBLE COMPANY!!!! read more

They worked exceptionally hard, stayed on schedule and did an amazing job packing and loading. (They even packed my kids built Lego projects that made it intact to our destination.). All American Relocation delivered a sofa I ordered online. I set up the delivery time (from 8 a.m. to Noon) and took the morning off of work. When they had not called to tell me they were on their way by 11:30, I called the logistics company (I did not yet have contact info for All American), who put me on hold and then told me that All American had changed my delivery window to 9 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. without telling me and that actual delivery would be close to 1:00 p.m. I called and left a message with the All American dispatch person to see if I could re-schedule (I needed to get to work) and they never called me back. Delivery drivers finally called at 1:40, saying they were 20 minutes away. I didn't get the sofa until 2:35 p.m. No apology, no return call, no accountability. read more

I would not recommend dealing with this agency. They are either incompetent or something worse. They mislead me about the costs and packed in additional costs that I was unprepared for - apologizing all the way (just saying sorry doesn't cut it). The salesman, Frank, touted his years of experience and how he could take care of us and then he underestimated the cost (weight) by 50%!!! I would have gone another direction if he had been honest about the cost, but some people do whatever it takes to get the business. I will be recommending to my friends and associated in the Raleigh area that they deal with a different agency. All American Relocation cost me over $5K in additional billing due to their lack of integrity. On the day of the move the agency insisted on the need to add a "shuttle truck" and it would cost me an additional $1200 (A truck you can rent from U-Haul for $40 a day). Then they only used it for about 1 hour as the loading van was only 20 yards away from the storage locker. That was a complete rip off. Having said that, I will say that the driver and the loaders all did a good job. My dissatisfaction is only with the agency. Beware...there are alternatives out there people. read more

ABSOLUTE WORST DELIVERY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH!!!. My husband and I ordered a TV console and it came from CA to Atlanta then to Raleigh. That is when our nightmare started with All American. They called on 2/20/2012 to let us know the delivery would be from 1-5 on Tuesday the 22nd. Then called the morning of the 22nd to say they moved the delivery time to 2-6, I took time off work only to be called at 5:11 pm and the driver said he would not be here til 6:30. I waited til 7:13 with no phone call or delivery and tried calling the number back on my cell phone. There was no answer and the voice mail was full. I waited until 8:24 and called again and this time left a call back number that was to go to his pager. I received a call from him at 9:11 telling me his GPS said he would be in our town at 10:00 and do I want him to deliver or reschedule? Well knowing at this point that rescheduling would be the same nightmare I told him to come on and waited until 10:45pm and he still did not show up. My husband called them this morning (23rd) only to be told the driver was behind and they would be delivering the console on Saturday the 25th of February. If the prior is any indication on the promise of thier delivery I highly doubt that we will see them on Saturday either. I would NEVER knowingly use this company and will certainly make sure the company we purchased this from knows exactly what kind of delivery company they have hired to deliver thier products. read more
