The disaster that was this move cannot be exaggerated. The movers who came to my house damaged a wall and my wooden stairs. I was promised a repair but the company has ignored my repeated emails and calls to get that arranged. To start off, one of the movers made inappropriate remarks to me, starting with "I broke up with my girlfriend yesterday" as he inquired as to my relationship status within TEN minutes (cannot make this stuff up). The driver then got their moving van STUCK in my driveway for more than 3 hours. They arranged a tow truck to free the van and they allowed my stuff to be towed to an unknown tow yard. Abdo was unable to get the truck that day, so my items say somewhere overnight in a tow yard. They promised me a refund of 200.00 for an inconvenience fee. Instead, they had the NERVE to charge an additional 459.00 for the day they unloaded. My favorite part: They attempted to charge my credit card more than 20 times for their additional charges! They kept trying different amounts to get every possible dime out of my account: 25.00, 50.00, 20.00, 100.00....they were successful at maxing out my card. If I could share a screenshot I would! Per the moving contract, they will erase the credit card info on file per request. So, of course, I did request that once I realized what they were doing. Lo and behold, they have still tried charging my card TODAY. I have now had to freeze the card and request a new one. Do NOT use this company. In the moving contract, they specifically state they can basically use your credit card anytime for fees they believe you might owe. They just sent me another invoice this morning. read more

I really don't want to leave this review but feel as if it is necessary in order to help others not be cheated. On 9/22 they showed up to my storage unit to start my move at 12:30. During this time the "lost" the dolly within minutes of showing up. In addition, they also did not wrap or protect my items which resulted in them dropping and breaking my new anthropology mirror. They also damaged my new lamps and nightstands. A two hour, at most three hours move turned into 5 hours as they lost the dolly and couldn't load the 15 totes quickly. I also had very minimal items. King bed, 15 totes and smaller items. They also had to cleanup the mirror out of the parking lot which add additional time. Once they got to my new place, I also noticed one guy sitting in the truck on his phone for an hour while the other guy was doing all the work. Again, adding more time. I reached to the company out as soon as I learned of all of this information. As soon as I told them about the item(s) broken and damaged I received another invoice for another 2 hours. Of note, I paid for my whole move prior to them even showing up and starting. Once I saw this this invoice in my email (after reporting the items damaged / broke) I reached out and was told they could have charge me 3 hours but took off an hour due to the "mishaps." One hour off due to all the issues and broken items? That's sounds fair. Right? This is very disappointing and frustrating as I am being charged for their workers inability to work efficiently and not break items and lose a major tool for moving. I even asked if I could get them a dolly to help and Jordan told me no you've got 30 mins left on the move. Also, every other move they have wrapped up items to prevent any issues. This time they did not. Several emails back and forth and they finally said they would waive the invoice of $380 if I dropped the claims with them for my mirror and other items damaged. I said no to this as they are trying to charge me more money and also not pay for the items they broke/ damaged. Once they learned of the damaged items, they charged me more money in order to say we will waive it if you drop the claims. How does that even make sense or good business? How is that fair? Negligent and unprofessional are the two words that best describe my experience with this company. If you are looking for a junk-removal service, this may be the company to call. But if you are looking for a professional company that will provide a seamless move, take pride in their work, and take care of your possessions, look elsewhere. My move started poorly when the movers arrived late and ill-prepared to pack and load my belongings. The move turned into an absolute nightmare on delivery day. When the movers opened the back door of the moving truck, I was appalled to see the way that my belongings were packed onto the truck. It looked as if the movers simply chucked my possessions into the back of the truck--items were broken, damaged, and thrown on top of one another. To make matters worse, my move required a storage period, and my furniture was supposed to be stored in a climate-controlled space, yet my couch and several other possessions arrived covered in mold. The company assigned only three movers for a long-distance move to unload furniture from a 2,800-square-foot home. What was supposed to be a 3-4-hour move turned into a 12-hour ordeal. Near the end, the movers themselves were so frustrated that they threatened to leave with the remainder of my furniture on the truck. I had to personally assist with unloading items simply to get the job done. Several pieces of furniture were damaged so badly in transit that they could not be salvaged. (I've included photos with this review.) And one of the movers threatened a building concierge. The response by the company owners explains the poor quality of the move. Their attempt at resolution has been disheartening and wholly unsatisfactory. I would hate for anyone to experience what I experienced with this move and this company. TLDR: DO NOT USE THEM FOR ANYTHING! So I had a claim with 17 pages of damages that this company caused with my household goods move from Durham, NC to Wisconsin. I even purchased the full replacement value protection and they offered only $500. The grill alone that they ripped the door off was $300. Do yourself a favor and do not use this company for any of your moving needs small, large, or anything in between. We really desire to support locally owned businesses, but this time it did not work out. Don't learn the lesson that we had to, find someone else to move your belonings! We are staging our home in preparation for a move, so I needed a company to take some items to a storage unit. These guys did a great job at a reasonable price. Jerome, Alex, and Begad were prompt, courteous, and professional. After getting several quotes from other movers for our relocation, I have settled on Your Local Movers. They quoted a flat rate, which means no surprise up charges when it comes time to pay the invoice. In my opinion, they handled my items with as much care as any other company. read more

This was not only my worst experience with movers, but unequivocally the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I requested and agreed to pay for three movers paid by the hour. Thirty minutes after arrival one of the movers disappeared. After 20 minutes passed, I asked the lead mover where the third was. The lead mover said she went to Exxon to go to the bathroom. Keep in mind, my apartment had two bathrooms and there were additional bathrooms in the building lobby. Another twenty minutes went by with no sign of the third mover. I went downstairs and found the mover eating their car. I spoke to the lead mover and stated that I should not have to pay for the time the third mover was gone. The mover became unhinged. He yelled at me, repeatedly yelled "You're gonna pay me money regardless", and when I tried to diffuse the situation he told me to be quiet several times so he could "speak his peace". His voice was raised and I felt threatened. Threatened in my home and I had to do the emotional calculus of firing them on the spot for the lie over time & harassing tone or trying to find new movers with no notice. I called the owner and he said he would reprimand the employee and only charge me for two movers instead of three. That. Mover should be fired. It is never acceptable to yell at a customer and tell them to be quiet in their own home. I felt threatened and almost called the police. Please do not use these movers. read more

UPDATE 08-12-2021: The comments that were made below this review are completely littered with false information that I have written documentation. I also have phone records of how many times the company was called & didn't respond throughout the day, and recorded the comments made by the packers that came regarding the poor management operations. Whether the company has done a great job for others is of no use to my experience. If I could place a ZERO on this review, I would. The packers showed up with NO boxes. It took 2 hours to get the boxes back. One packer became ill & it took another couple of hours fo get others there. The lack of professionalism and business acumen is astounding. Even the packers they sent out were complaining about the poor management of the company. Many of my items were thrown into boxes, broken, destroyed, and there were at least 10 boxes that weren't even labeled. Items from my wine cabinet were thrown into a waste basket! After being overcharged, I filed a claim about the many damaged items, and was offered an insulting amount of $150 back. I am now bringing in an attorney to handle the awful experience. This was, by far, the worst moving experience I have ever had. The movers were late, incredibly slow, and sloppy. They ended up damaging my 55" tv, and didn't even apologize. If it weren't for me, my mom, and cousin, moving my little 1 BR 750 sq ft apartment would've taken SIX hours instead of FOUR (mind you, I moved .9 miles down the road, too!)...they charged almost $700 for this move, and didn't do anything about my tv! And the owner was incredibly rude, derogatory, and insulting. He blatantly told me that my review wouldn't matter since he has so many other good ones. Customer service and people skills are not something that he or his movers exemplify. I hope that people read this, so as to avoid something awful like this happening to them. These guys were incredible, where to begin. Wonderful communication for scheduling the movers to come out. Ian and Saad met me at the house on time and were very professional and clean cut. No complaints from them, even with the (very) heavy furniture. Had some pieces sell that wasn't expected and they were so pleasant about it, moving the pieces in the truck around and unloading the furniture that sold. The truck was packed nice and tight for transport. They followed us back and brought reinforcements, Karim and Abdo, who were just as spectacular. No scratches, dings or anything to the furniture, walls or floor. Couldn't ask for a better group to move furniture. read more

I recently used your budget movers for moving from a house in Cary to Morrisville. I highly recommend their services. I have seen movers in the past who had changed their terms at the end moment and delay the move as much as possible to increase the billing hours. Your Budget movers were highly professional and got done things quickly and tried to complete my entire 2 bed room movement within 2 hours. Only advice i would give them is to call/ email their customers on the day of the move in advance so that the customers are not anxious of no-show. I will highly recommend using them on your next move chris and Dillion were very helpful and precautions with all items. Only down side was that my bed needed special tools and they did not have in hand. It was still fine because once we obtained tools they were able to break bed down and put it together fairly quick. The worst movers I've ever experienced. The other 1 star reviews b about them are true, and I wish I would've listened. They showed up high on pot, did not do a walk through of inventory, and ignored my suggestion of looking at the other room I had furniture in. The third mover showed up over an hour late, smelling heavily like pot and cologne. There was no communication between team members or from the team to me. When I told them what could be left, when I'd leave to feed my baby, I'd come back to it being gone. The few interactions were disrespectful to say the least, they had airpods in both ears ignoring any direction I provided until hours in I raised my tone in frustration and concern that my belongings were being purposely mishandled, I have countless amounts of furniture and possession damage everywhere I look. I'm a single mom who now has to rearrange the mess they left despite my attempts at direction, which were either ignored or grudgingly barely followed, they went to the wrong apartment despite me updating the apartment building with the main office 24hrs before the move. They left suddenly after dumping the rest of my infant daughter's belongings on the clearly dirty ground outside, and now as I try to organize my things I'm finding multiple missing items including my PS4. If the employees felt like I was too much of a "bitch" for existing and wanting my belongings moved without incident or attitude, they should have forfeited the job rather than smoke pot between trips leaving my apartment stinking and stealing my property. I have pictures and video supporting all my claims. Update: After going to the BBB and stating to the manager that I was putting together a list of damages that already exceed the cost of the move, I started receiving threatening phone calls and text messages stating how I am being "dramatic", I "deserve what happened" and "people that do what you do end up paying $4000 - $5000 dollars", as well as threatening to take legal action. Run. This was the worst experience I have ever had with a company. After verifying my price by having an in house estimate and verifying 5 times that they would be at my house at 8am, the drivers show up an hour and a half late in a uhaul half awake and wreaking of weed. This company is faking its brand by pretending they are a professional and big company with 2 locations when they are using uhauls and movers wearing socks and flip flops. After showing up late they were complaining about us having a lot of garbage bags which were light and filled with our blankets, coats, pillows, couch pillows. The movers tried to push for tips by saying I had more than I was supposed to even though I sold a giant sectional which was on the list in my pricing. Then they left at 12pm for over an hour to get blankets because they didnt have enough!!! I had a newborn and child and 2 dogs that I was supposed to be at my destination around 8pm and didnt leave the 12 hour move which should have been 5 hours as we dont have much stuff, until 12:30am!!! Besides that they brought the wrong sized truck and couldnt fit my $500 bbq grill which was like 8 mths old so I had to leave it and said they could have it because I had no other choice! They still have it there BTW. They showed up half alive and thats when I saw all the damaged furniture and they didnt even finish the move. We had to do a lot of work after. All my furniture is about a year old. They dented the top of my samsung dryer, got grease on my tan sofa, scratched the top of my dining room table, broke my daughters big doll house and lost my daughters screws to her bed set and she had no bed for a week! They got grease on my $3000 mattress and voided the lifetime warranty even after we had left a mattress protector on it! Then after calling the company after these people left they told me to fill out a claim with the info and pictures which I did. I bought there "full coverage protection". I called and spoke to the co owner Andy who at first was trying to call me a liar about the screws saying his incompetent worker said I had them, which I didnt and nor would I travel with screws it made no sense. Then he said he would lose money if he had to for customer experience and my claim had to go through their "claims dept" people which takes up to 10 days, which is a dog and pony show as this is a small half a$$ company. Then they had the audacity to say that all my damage was worth only $600 back!!! This company should be writing a check to me for replacing all my damaged furniture. They love to take your money but not give it back. Also they told me they would send me a final invoice for the 50% balance but charged my card the minute the movers left my house without my consent. In April of this year, my partner and I moved into a new home. The night prior to moving, we took pictures of all of our furniture. When they brought the furniture over, they set everything up. My partner noticed that one of the legs of the bed was scuffed, where it hadn't been the night before. When confronted the movers gas-lit us, saying they didn't do it and it was likely our cats. We have pictures of multiple perspectives of the bed, showing the scuffs were not there even the night before. After this, we contacted the company to seek a resolution. They told me to file a complaint, and I did. The company has the policy to reimburse for items that were damaged in the move. No response since the claim was issued. They were unprofessional towards us and did not reimburse us for the damages they caused. When I attempted to file a claim, they did not respond at all.
