Needed to move in mid-January and as with many oddities during this pandemic, a lot of moving companies are busy! But a quick online search leads me to Little Guys Movers. The reviews look real, they're well-rated and really close to home so I give them a call. Charlie at the office takes in all my information including details about each location and a basic inventory of key pieces of furniture in addition to packed boxes. They check in a couple of days beforehand and we are good to go! Day of the move, Malik, Hunter and Tyrell show up in a fairly large truck. They help me break down some furniture (bed frames) and try to leave as much intact for the move. For my 2 bedroom apartment it takes maybe 2 1/2 hours to bring it all down. Unfortunately I live on the 3rd floor which slows things down. On the destination side it takes a little over an hour to unload which includes re-assembling stuff. Didn't find many/any dings on the walls or furniture, they wrap the edges for safety. I tip the team and say a huge thank you for this big step forward in my move. Overall I was very happy with their service, it was a little under $900 for the 5 mile move but heck, I sure couldn't have done it on my own. While I was concerned about some of the negative reviews I saw online, my experience was top-notch for the move! read more

Great guys but 2 items broke due to not picking it up gently. They came on time and load my items from a U-Haul truck to my townhouse.

Got quoted 2700 to move out of 2 bedroom condo into a townhome. Ended up costing over 4000 and took 2 days. I moved into the condo using movers that loaded everything into one truck. On my move out they couldn't fit everything into their truck so I went out and rented 10ft U-Haul. It still didn't fit! These guys were specially challenged. Don't trust their quotes. read more

They arrived at my apartment on time and after taking a look around the place, they got to work. They were very efficient which I liked. I will also mention, they carried each box down the stairs without a dolly. That was a nice bonus since I didn't have to worry about anything breaking on the ride down the steps. The setup in the new place was just as efficient. There was even a tight corner on the stairwell. And they made sure to maneuver in such a way that they could get all my furniture up the stairs without damaging the furniture or the walls. And the few spots they did scuff up the wall, one of them used a magic eraser to remove them. I'd definitely use them again. read more

Initially, my quote from Stewart Powell was fair for a sml amt of furniture to be hauled. I was sold & ready to use LGM. However, Brandon changed my quote and gave me an attitude over the phone that made me change my mind. Be prepared for shifty price quotes and nickle & dime their customers for subtle changes in the quantity of furniture being moved. I added 2 sml, collapsible floor lamps to their quote & it went above my budget. No comments on their services, but their pricing practices are a little questionable. read more

This 1 star review is for the management, customer service, and overall business process and for future customers to have 2 very important questions when booking: 1) What is the MIN # of hours I am 100% required to pay for! 2) Be sure to add as much as you need to fulfill #1 above so you do not feel taken advantage of. Add 50-100 misc moving boxes to be sure the time you are paying for is utilized. You will be charges for #1 even if it takes them 30min to unload those items - that's the focus NOT the time in #1 you are paying for!! It was not made clear to me that this would be the case and I'm giving a 1 star review on this experience since I gave them a chance in a follow up email to them where I stated: "You could make my Yelp/Online review 4-star with me sharing my experience and that you really take care of your customers OR 1-star sharing the same experience & warning people to be very careful if this is how you run your bookings." I don't have very many things to move and he helped me realize it would make more sense for me to just sell the items I had and purchase them again because the price of moving them is much too expensive to move cross country for just a couple pieces of furniture that don't have sentimental value. They damaged just about every piece of furniture. We continue to discover more damage, including a brand new coffee table that has a gouge and scores of scratches. They did not even know how to get a chair through a doorway, repeatedly forcing them straight through rather than rotating them through. At one point, one of them carried a very large and heavy chair by himself and dropped it on the brick steps. Halfway through the day, several of the movers reaked of pot, which was when one of them literally tossed a box spring across the footboard badly scratching it. They even damaged doorways and walls in both houses (the huge dent at the dront door of the old house may be when they cracked a leg of the dresser). They did send a guy to repair the damaged furniture we initially discovered, but he showed up 4 hours late and was so drunk I had to tell him three times what he was there to repair and at one point he returned from his car (fortunately driven by his wife) and went to the wrong house. read more

No one likes moving so it's always helpful to find a moving company that creates a seamless process! Little Guys Movers provided exceptional service, care and expertise. They are very affordable as their prices are binding, so anything you add increases the costs and anything you take away decreases the costs. This allowed me to have more flexibility in packing and preparing for my move. I was able to schedule by contacting them via phone and securing a date. On the day of my move, the movers were expected to arrive at 8:15am but there was heavy rain which caused a delay. I appreciated the increased communication from the team to let me know they were running behind. Once they arrived, they went to work! I moved from a 1B/1BR and there were 4 guys so it didn't take long at all for them to pack up the truck with my items. They moved everything with care and ease and they were very swift. All of my items were transported to my new location safely with no damage. And even though I marked my boxes, they were very intentional to ask where I wanted my items placed. The gentleman doing my move definitely got their exercise today. I am on a third floor and needed large furniture and some boxes moved. They moved my desk to the loft as well. I was impressed from my first contact with Little Guy Movers. I sent an inquiry online and received a call the next day. Lexi helped schedule my move. I ended up adding more items because I did not expect 3 flights of stairs to be so exhausting. After adding the items they adjusted my time to a slightly earlier slot and added more help. I got a call a few days prior to the move to confirm the details. I moved today and the 4 gentleman that took care of my move we excellent! They were on time and called 30 minutes prior to arrival. They were fast and very careful with my items. They were organized, friendly, and professional. I recommend 10/10! Hopefully I don't have to move for a while. We just finished our move. We moved our entire 3 br house and included some packing services as well as the move itself. Rob and the team were great. They were extremely patient going through the entire house to make sure we had all the inventory correct. They were very careful with all our stuff including the superhuman move of our upright piano down the front steps. We are extremely happy with how the move went and the speed and care the crew gave everything. The team was also great through the requoting process as we didn't ultimately end up moving as much as we thought we would and got us a big discount from the original quote. He went through everything I would need moved and then sent me a detailed quote. Kenny followed up to confirm the appointment and edited my quote to reflect a piece of furniture I forgot about the first time around. There are no hourly rates, the quote is based on what you need moved, the distance, difficulty, etc. And they were very upfront about everything so I knew exactly what it would cost on moving day. Little Guys were great! I called several moving companies and Little Guys gave me the lowest estimate by far for my 1BD local move, and they were willing to make it a binding estimate with just a phone call (which means that if it takes longer than they estimate, they won't charge extra). Other companies wouldn't do that even after coming out and doing an in-house estimate. Also, they don't charge extra for flat-screen TVs. Many companies require you to pack your TV in a special box that can cost almost $100. Little Guys assured me that they move TVs all the time without that, with no problems. They showed up on time with a 3-man crew (other companies would have only sent 2) and they were very professional. From when they arrived to when they finished unloading only took about 2 hours. read more

Recently used Little Guys Movers to move my furniture from a 2nd floor 2-bedroom apt in southwest Raleigh to a 3rd floor 2-bedroom apt in Morrisville. Of the three quotes I received for this job, Little Guys was the cheapest, so I went with them. They priced the job according to the inventory list I gave them and the distance of the move. I also had some items that needed to be delivered to a second location, so there was a modest fee for that. In order to keep the cost down, I moved all the small items/boxes myself and only had them handle the large pieces of furniture. Three of their guys performed the job, using a truck more than big enough for all my furniture. They arrived exactly at the designated time on moving day and worked quickly and efficiently throughout both the move out and move in processes. They were careful, courteous, and professional. After completion of the move, I paid them the exact amount that was quoted to me originally, so I was very happy to find no surprises in my final bill. The entire move went off without a hitch. I first had a great experience, great response, and customer service during the move. However, to my surprise, they damaged my king mattress and broke a glass door of our China cabinet, which they said they'd replace immediately. It's been almost a month since we moved, they keep sending e-mails sporadically and called me a couple of times, saying they will get their general manager involved, but nothing has been solved. They're very nice and kind, but when it comes to a solution, nothing is done. I don't recommend them at all, unfortunately. My mattress was more expensive than the entire move. The mattress is no longer usable anymore! Very poor service. read more

I moved earlier this week and had a great experience with Little Guys! The gentleman that set up the appointment was courteous and helpful. The crew that came to move my stuff actually showed up 20 minutes early. (They called me first to see if that was okay.) They were friendly, fast, and listened to my handful of small requests. (Like shutting the door to the bedroom behind them as to not let my cat escape.) The glass to my microwave was broken in the move- so maybe based on the previous reviews, it'd be wise to move those fragile, precious heirlooms in your own car. But, a microwave is no big deal. A person from the office called me back four days later with an item number for a replacement and offered to drop it off that afternoon. Again, he was friendly and helpful. Additionally, once they totaled up the estimated amount of stuff they'd have to move versus what they actually moved- my bill was nearly cut in half. How nice! Based on the horror stories I've heard about other movers, I'd say Little Guys is about as good as it gets. read more

We wanted a company who could efficiently and safely pack up the cubes so we only had to pay for two rather than 3 cubes. They were all pleasant and did their job with a great attitude and spirit of service. They were very professional. From the first phone call to the last handshake, I can't begin to say "Thank you" enough for how well this company handled every detail and all my worries. I was given an estimate before I chose them and that price never changed. We worked around a snow storm and they called me just about everyday as we had to reschedule. Professionals from the beginning and that never waivered, even as the last truck pulled away. I hired Little Guys Movers for a straightforward 2 bedroom apartment move. Their quote was lower than the 6 other quotes that I received, but I would have chosen them even if they were on the high side. This is a company that has it all together. When you call in, their agents are trained to handle your call professionally. They don't stutter and act like this is their first time taking a quote. They know exactly what to do and can build you a precise quote that they stand behind within minutes. Then they follow up the call with an email, and then with professional follow up calls until you have made your decision. Most other companies will write something down on a piece of paper, say they need to talk to their boss, maybe even require coming on site to your location to give you a quote. They do their pricing based on each item that they move. Want to move the boxes yourself? Fine, they just remove them from the bill. This ensures that your price is accurate and I felt their pricing was very reasonable. They ended up sending 3 guys and a big truck so they knocked out my job quickly. The young men were very pleasant to talk to, no smoke smell, no profanity, and all very strong. I was lucky to get Will, Kenny, and AJ. At the end of my move I asked if they could move a heavy piece of furniture in my bedroom. This of course had an itemized cost but was not pre-arranged. It took all 3 of them but they were able to move it which was a big help to me. I wanted to leave a detailed positive review because I feel it is well deserved.
