It was a beautiful sunny day, and sitting there with the warm weather, Vietnamese music playing, and the food coming out... I swear I felt like I was back in Southeast Asia for a minute. I do wish they decorated the outdoor seating area a little more to really lean into that tropical Southeast Asian vibe because the location has SO much potential, but honestly, the atmosphere was already giving. And here's what surprised me: I didn't realize Natalie's at Alki serves REAL FOOD! We got: Crab & Shrimp Fried Rice SO GOOD. Flavorful, packed with seafood, and definitely hit the spot. Mango Salad , Y'ALL!! THIS ONE?! The combination of fresh mango and avocado on a sunny day was PERFECT. Sweet, fresh, creamy, refreshing. I could've eaten the whole bowl myself! Literally almost did had to share LOL! we got Fries because honestly, you can never go wrong with fries. And of course, you already know we had to get the drinks! Their kumquat sugarcane drink is always a good choice. They also have gelato at this location, which I didn't even know! So now I already have another excuse to come back and try more of their menu. Tukwila location does have food but menus are a little different, so now I definitely need to go back and compare! Overall, Natalie's Alki is definitely worth checking out, especially if you're spending the day at Alki Beach. Grab some food, get yourself a sugarcane drink, sit outside, listen to some Vietnamese music, and pretend you're on vacation in Southeast Asia for an hour.

They have a nice view from across the street of Alki Beach from their pretty roomy outdoor patio seating and it's a prime location for people-watching. We had an overall wonderful first dining experience at Natalie's. We look forward to many more visits and making this one of our regular spots. They are willing to make your bevvy dreams a reality. In retrospect, some of the flavor combinations I've suggested are nightmares. But, I am a Goblin. The interior has themed rooms which are kept clean by Seattle and Goblin standards, but would be considered fairly dirty anywhere in Japan. It can get busy on the weekends, but this Goblin knows what it's like to be slammed, so I wait patiently and be respectful. It's nice to see an unpretentious flavor forward cafe run by young women doing so well. Their Hazelnut lattes don't lack flavor and taste like you "don't get it". Their coffee tastes like you were finally invited to the dance. While the market has decided that a Goblin will pay at least $8 for a coffee now, I'll fight back my Goblin tears and say "WORTH IT, WORTH IT, YOU ARE WORTH IT!". I took 1 star off because no place is perfect. I'd also like to see patrons of West Seattle businesses do more as a community to keep these spaces clean and tidy.

The miso caramel soft serve was incredibly flavorful, with lightly charred notes shining in perfect balance against vibrant miso tasting notes. The matcha also contained a lot of high quality matcha flavor and some grassy notes, and was probably some of the best matcha soft serve I've tried so far. A lot of matcha soft serve I have tried in the past, usually tastes of lower quality matcha or diluted flavors. However at Matcha Man, it's clear that attention to detail and quality shine here. The miso caramel topping was also absolutely divine. Buttery, complex, and with just the right amount of char/miso balance similar to the soft serve but more concentrated. My only complaint is that I would have preferred the shortcake crumble to be larger pieces of shortcake, but very minor. Overall this place was excellent. I love that they have a "box" option where the soft serve comes in a takeout-like box, making it much easier to eat.

You place an order starting the Sunday before to be picked up anytime 1-3pm the following Sunday at The Station Coffee shop next to the Beacon Hill light rail station, so I did precisely that last week to try to Rose Milk Tea and Ube Marshmallow flavors. At $14 a pint (phew tax included!), it is quite pricey though these are local and Kryse herself makes the ice cream in small batches. It is definitely in line with premium ice cream, with a nice complex mix of flavors, some of them quite innovative. Rose Milk Tea - 3/5 I love how they have rose petals actually mixed in, and the flavor is quite fragrant. However, the batch of ice cream for this is a bit powdery and flaky, so it wasn't smooth like it should be. This ice cream was also a bit too sweet for me. Ube Marshmallow - 5/5 Anything with ube is great, but this ice cream flavor takes it up a notch! Although I placed the order for this apparently hours after they launched the upcoming week's orders, this flavor was not sold out, but it instantly sold out this week for the upcoming week. The marshmallow has a nice roasted flavor that pairs really well with the ube itself. It is also not as sweet as the Rose Milk Tea - "not too sweet" my favorite level of sweetness. I will likely prepare in advance and order these ice cream again, as the flavors seem to be rotating quite often, though I will reserve it for celebrations and special occasions as the prices are a bit high to treat this as a "stress-eat" ice cream.

The cashier told me it was because the strawberry rhubarb pie had been warmed in their oven and that baked pies incur an additional $2 charge. The explanation didn't make much sense, but it was my first visit, so I assumed there was some policy I didn't understand. When I got home and looked at the menu, I realized the $2 charge had actually been applied to the chicken pot pie. From what I can tell, they charge an extra fee if they bake one of the refrigerated pot pies for you. Mine was frozen, came with at-home baking instructions, and was never baked in-store. I sent an email to the address listed on the receipt to let them know they might be charging customers incorrectly, but never received a response. The food was good, but the whole situation was strange.
