This is the best place in my part of Marion county and Lake County that I have found to get my nails done. I had the same nail technician in Michigan for eight years and when I moved near Lady Lake, I tried everybody there with no luck then I found two technicians at Alina Nails that are absolutely fantastic. Extremely disappointing. I don't get my nails done very often, and I'm a really bad nail biter. I decided it was finally time to quit this nasty habit so I went to this nail salon as it had the best reviews around the area. My partner and I like to stick to a fairly strict budget, so taking our $60 to get my nails done was also a big deal for me. I got there and it was insanely packed, I figured this was just because it was getting close to the Thanksgiving holiday. I was greeted and told they'd be with me shortly. 15 minutes passed and I was told to take a seat in the chair. Not too bad. The nail tech gets started and states "wow, you bite your nails?" honestly not a big deal to me, I'm used to this as I have been biting my nails for 20+ years, but could definitely be considered rude by someone else. He carries on. I showed him a reference photo of what I wanted and told him I like an almond shape, but not super rounded. During my manicure, he stopped multiple times to check people out, answer the phone and book appointments. It was a very unpleasant experience and made me feel a lot of anxiety as it was clear he was rushing to get the job done. As he was placing the nails, I asked him to fix a few that were crooked and he told me that "it's fine, it will get fixed at the end." As you can see, it was never fixed, and all of my nails are different shapes and going in different directions. I also mentioned to him that I wanted the french tip to be very dainty and thin. When he first started, I asked him three times to make the tips less chunky and he completely ignored my request. When I left, I was disappointed with the final result but decided to give this salon grace as they looked extremely short staffed and it was just about to be the holiday. However, I got my nails done on Monday and by Thursday every single one of my nails had popped or peeled off. Soooooo frustrating when you spend $60 to have them done. All in all, I wouldn't recommend nor would I go back here myself. read more

Wish I had taken a picture. This is the worst manicure that I have ever had. I asked if a French manicure was okay. I was told yes. But the first sample nail was good, the rest got progressive worse. I thought I could survive it for a wedding in a few days. I stopped at a drug store on the way home and hid my hands when I went to pay the cashier (it was that bad). I wandered in at 4 pm on a Monday and the place was packed!Even so,I was greeted promptly and seated fairly quickly.I had to wait a bit for a tech to become available but that was no issue.it afforded me the opportunity to see the place in action.Even though it was busy,no one was rushing or being rushed.the place was clean and everything was sanitized between clients,and the flow was consistent.Tools came out of the autoclave and it was obvious they had their routine down.The tech I got was amazing,professional and proficient.The price point was fair as well. I got clear polish and nail stickers for Halloween. They all peeled up and off on the same day . Waste of $25.

I came in on a busy Saturday morning, and I didn't have to wait to get worked on. I don't know the woman's name who did my toes, but at times she was a little aggressive with my nails, causing some discomfort. She also didn't offer different pedicure packages, so I'm unsure if they offer those or not. Other than that, I was impressed by how clean they are and how they use disposable pedicure kits so each client has new instruments. Sarah (I believe) did my fingers and she did an amazing job! She is worked so quickly and listened to exactly what I wanted done. She even suggested a glitter nail and I love it. (My cuticle was already irritated before I came in, she was very careful to not make it worse!) I will definitely be back! read more

Great experience. Little gem in on the boarder if Mt. Dora and Eustis. David greeted me at the door and is who did my Ombre Acrylic overlay. He seemed to know the names of everyone that walked in. Family feeling, good convo, comfortable atmosphere. I was kind of a indecisive pain because I changed my mind like 3 times but David just went with it. My gel French pedicure was Lena ... even though I called her Linda 1/2 the time she was really nice. Offered me a beverage and was gentle but thorough. btw- my issue with most of the places in the area are the lack of options. A lot of places cater to the older crowd. You will have to ask for it but Alina's has a lot of different options... chrome, ombré, colored acrylic power, Dip, buildup gel, glow in the dark, the color that looks like cat eye that I don't know the name of, don't be afraid to ask for what you want or come with a photo. I have been coming here on and off for years. Typically walk in and all great, 5 stars. Recently have had Tony a handful of times and he is amazing! Today though.... Had a rookie I think. Took an extra half hour. It was as if she couldn't decide which drill bits to use and kept changing them to different kinds. Nails are different lengths. Some are oval (7) and some are almond shape (3). I walked in with almond shape. Walked out with mixed shapes and lengths. Skin on my fingers got zapped with drill 6 different times but only one bled. I think my lesson is no more walk ins, call and schedule Tony. So decided on 3 stars not 5 due to todays visit. read more

I went in for a pedicure, without an appointment, on a VERY busy day- New Year's Eve day. NO problem! Did not have to wait too long, even though the salon was very crowded. They had about 11 technicians working. Everyone was very hospitable and friendly. Was offered a drink while I was waiting and given a whole bottle of water. The technician who did my nails (sorry but I didn't get her name) was very careful and thorough and paid attention to detail. I will say the technicians who were doing pedicures all looked like they were doing the same thorough job. I am very pleased and will go back for a manicure when I can fit it in. read more

I went in today for a pedicure and back wax which, I have been getting here once or twice a year for 8 years. I hope today was just a bad day. My pedicure was good as usual. But, I was then asked to lay on a filthy sheet for the back wax. I pointed out that the sheet had visible hair, grime, and grass (beyond just stained). She said to lay on the 2 feet of paper. I told her I'm not laying on that. She then offered to change the sheet. At this point, I lost faith in her ability to do the hair removal in a sanitary way. After years of good service, I wish knew her name so I could ask for someone else next time. I will more likely just go somewhere else. read more

They take their time and make sure you are comfortable and satisfied. They have a great variety of glitter acrylic, gel polishes and regular nail polish colors. I've been going here for about six months and have been pretty happy with it. Yesterday my experience wasn't that good at all. I went in for a fill and a woman started and then in the middle of it just got up and then a man came to finish and said she had an appointment, I didn't find that very professional, I didn't mind that he was finishing it but for her to not say anything and just stop half way. When I left I wasn't completely satisfied and the more I look at my nails the more I dislike them. They both asked me a few times if I was keeping them as coffin shaped and each time they asked I said yes. They are completely square not coffin at all and some of the nails are a little crooked and they are not all the same length. I called them today and I'm going on tomorrow to have them fixed but it just takes time out of my day to go back and have them correct the problem. Hopefully it's taken care of and I'll continue to go there because I do like them but they even said that yesterday wasn't that busy and I went in around 3 so I don't know if they were rushing or what. read more

I've been using Alina Nails for about 3 years the service they provide is good. I like the nail techs. My complaint is they do not have prices posted so you never know that the price will be. Each time I go the price is different for the same service. Today I had a Mani/pedi no frills and it was 40.00. Last time for gel nails and pedicure it was 40.00 other times it's 50.00 so what the heck. So what do they do look at you and then decide how much they will charge you.
