Instead of trying to understand what I was asking for, the staff person who was Hispanic told me that he did not feel comfortable doing the repair. The conversation was handle made me feel as though I was being treated like I had brought in a stolen bike or asking him to do something wrong. Never given a reasonable explanation for the why on this simple repair. I believe the owner needs to know about this because customers service is about listening. I took my bike in for a tube replacement on the back wheel because my usual shop didn't have the…read moretube I needed. My bike has a flip-flop hub, and I brought it in set up as a freewheel. I waited at the shop while the work was being done, and when the bike was returned to me, the wheel had been installed on the fixed-gear side. Unfortunately, I didn't notice the change before riding. While going downhill, I stopped pedaling expecting to coast, only to discover the bike was now in fixed gear. I lost control and crashed and got scraped up. I returned to the shop and explained what had happened. They flipped the wheel and barely uttered "Sorry about that," and I was sent on my way. While I was there the first time, another customer also brought in a wheel that had been mounted improperly. I would be cautious about having work performed here.

It has been a while since I have been in a store where every store associate is super helpful and go out of their way to extend next level service. When I was an avid cyclist, Trek Bicycle was known as Austin's most dependable and all-around bike shop with a wide range of cyclist customers. I went into Trek for a two-fold purpose: 1) buy new bike shoes and 2) inquire regarding the status of my bike tires that have been seating in the garage for years (new tires or new tubes). When you walk into the store, you are met with a sea of bicycles...every color and style imaginable. Fortunately, I do not need a new bicycle because mine is in good shape. So, first, I inquire about my tires. The repair specialist was so super helpful, and he assured me that my tires might be ok. He suggested bringing the tires into the bike shop so he could inspect them. Next, I headed over to the bike shoe area, which is small but importantly they were having a sale. I snagged some $120 bike shoes for $30...score!!! Also, the sales associate offered to order me some insoles since they were out in my size. Super kind... The store sells a wide range of Trek bikes, including road, mountain, hybrid, and electric models, along with associated accessories and gear. The sales associates are top notch - super knowledgeable and not high-pressure sales folks. Absolutely no pressure in sales and when you're spending $2k on a bicycle you want to feel like you're not being pressured to buy but being helped to purchase the right bike for you. Post purchase I came back in to get some adjustments and advice and the team was more than willing to take time to help adjust seat height and hood angle to get the right comfort fit. I have a bike with a Shimano internal hub that needed to be calibrated; it would skip when I had to pedal hard uphill. I took to another shop in the area that wasn't able to solve it, they told me it was "bad" and that it would "get worse", needing a new one eventually. I called Trek; Chris was very patient with me over the phone and Drew readjusted the tension on it! They took the time to explain the issue and how they solved it. I will bring bikes there in the future, especially the two that I have with internal gear hubs. Thanks again!

They literally dropped everything to fix my flat tire to get me back on the road. They do it with humility and a smile. All other shops are just not as good as this one. This shop is special. But the most disappointing event was that my Aventon lock, a $70.00 item, was missing. I called immediately and explained the situation, and was instantly told my lock was not on the bike when I dropped it off and that I was mistaken. Talk about a slap in the face. I trusted that facility and was met with this. I will never return and will share the situation with my fellow riders. I had hoped that they would be a dependable partner in maintaining my bicycle, but that will not be the case. And to be told I don't know my bike is truly condescending. I guess the small amount I spent, $130.00, was good enough for them, that they would forfeit any further purchases. I can buy another lock; that's not a problem. But if considering their services, I would think twice and definitely seek service elsewhere.

Kelly could have easily checked my bike in and scheduled it for the service I requested, but instead, he started off by doing some troubleshooting. He took a look at the brake pads and found they still had plenty of life in them. He noticed that the front brake was slightly out of alignment, so he made a quick adjustment, which fixed the problem. In less than five minutes, Kelly fixed a problem I was having, prevented me from spending on a service I didn't need, and motivated me to write a review about what a great place Trek Bicycles is. I highly recommend this store and appreciate the quality customer service Kelly provides.

We have brought two bikes here, and both times when we got home to try them out they fell back…read moreapart. The first time we brought one in we brought it because the tire wouldn't stick to the rim and when we got home to try it out, the tire fell off the rim. The second time, they told us that they fixed the patch in the tube, but then when we rode it it ran out of air instantly and had a hole exactly where we asked them to fix it. Such a shame since it is a local shop!
