First time at this bike shop. Got a great deal on a slightly used Specialized. Staff was super helpful and friendly. Landed me on a bike I absolutely love. I couldn't be happier with the purchase. Overall great experience.

I've been in the market to purchase a bike. I had my eyes on one at Bicycle Sports Shop on Parmer. Didn't work out. Guess I need to post that review. Anyhoot after seeing these guys on T.V. and reading the Yelp reviews, I hustled down Burnet to see what they had to offer. They were easy to find, and, the parking wasn't too complicated. It was a balmy Saturday afternoon. I wheeled in and hopped out of my truck with high hopes. I was glad to see they had all of their bikes out in the parking (like I saw on T.V.) lot so you could walk around and check them out. Everyone was wearing masks and that made the experience much more comfortable. Once I looked around I went to the podium and waited for an associate. I was approached in less than five minutes. He asked what my price range was and what was I looking for. After about one minute of conversation he steered me toward a Felt Verza Speed 20. I asked if I could take it for a spin and he said "sure". No questions. No fuss. I took the bike for a spin, and, decided that I wanted it. So I went back to Bike Farm to make the purchase. Once back I noticed my guy was busy with another customer, but, I was immediately approached by someone else. I think he was the owner. Nice guy who didn't put any sales pressure on me at all. I really liked that! I bought the bike and he upgraded my tires, added a kick stand, a water bottle holder, changed the seat to a man friendly one (guys I'm sure you know what I'm talking about), and, I got a camel back, helmet and lock. All were discounted nicely. He also reminded me to register the frame with Felt. I really appreciated the friendly no pressure professional service I got from these guys, and, I really liked that despite the pandemic they allow you to give the bikes a test spin prior to purchasing. Bike Farm gets customer service! Thanks guys!! You are my new go to for all my biking needs! Also, it's been about a month since my purchase and I am really liking my Felt!! Keepin' it local!

Lex is the man!! I walked in close to close and was out of the shop with a new hybrid, lock, and helmet in like 20 minutes! He also put a kickstand ($10) and water bottle holder on for me :) Seems like the shop has a great variety and also they will do brake and shifting tuneups for I think a year. I'm so happy I found this place :)

I was shopping for a new bike last week. I wasn't too interested in brand so I checked out several shops, and remembered that Bike Farm is next to my favorite barber shop Honest Barber. I was greeted as I entered, told the guy what I was looking for, and they had one in my size on the floor. A few minutes later I was test riding. Since they are on a busy road you have to ride the sidewalk a short distance to a safe road to test ride on. When I came back and decided to get it the guy helping me suggested going with tubeless tires and said it was only $20 to upgrade. The bike was ready the next day and I rode it home. I love it so far and I anticipate going back for tune ups and spare parts. I would highly recommend this shop especially if you need help figuring out what you need. Besides new they also have a huge selection of used bikes.

I'm glad to have a trustworthy place for bike repairs close to where I live. They didn't try to upsell me. I appreciate that.

It has been a while since I have been in a store where every store associate is super helpful and go out of their way to extend next level service. When I was an avid cyclist, Trek Bicycle was known as Austin's most dependable and all-around bike shop with a wide range of cyclist customers. I went into Trek for a two-fold purpose: 1) buy new bike shoes and 2) inquire regarding the status of my bike tires that have been seating in the garage for years (new tires or new tubes). When you walk into the store, you are met with a sea of bicycles...every color and style imaginable. Fortunately, I do not need a new bicycle because mine is in good shape. So, first, I inquire about my tires. The repair specialist was so super helpful, and he assured me that my tires might be ok. He suggested bringing the tires into the bike shop so he could inspect them. Next, I headed over to the bike shoe area, which is small but importantly they were having a sale. I snagged some $120 bike shoes for $30...score!!! Also, the sales associate offered to order me some insoles since they were out in my size. Super kind... The store sells a wide range of Trek bikes, including road, mountain, hybrid, and electric models, along with associated accessories and gear. The sales associates are top notch - super knowledgeable and not high-pressure sales folks. Also, the bike shop is known for its bike rentals, especially for visitors wanting to explore nearby Lady Bird Lake trail or nearby neighborhoods. Next visit tire inspection...

Absolutely no pressure in sales and when you're spending $2k on a bicycle you want to feel like you're not being pressured to buy but being helped to purchase the right bike for you. Can't recommend the team here enough! Post purchase I came back in to get some adjustments and advice and the team was more than willing to take time to help adjust seat height and hood angle to get the right comfort fit. I was cross shopping a Canyon brand bike but you just can't put a price on having a brick and mortar to turn to for post purchase support and service. Highly recommend this store and Trek!

Mellow Johnny's was cool, modern & bright. This full service bike shop has quite literally everything you need. My friend bought energy supplements for a non-cycling event. Additionally, the staff was polite & answered all of my questions. Mellow Johnny's has a nice selection of bikes for sale , apparel, & other supplies. They were sold out of the more common sizes on the discount rack. However, I was pleased with my purchase. Prices are in line with what I pay in the Washington DC area. I would've rented a bike & jumped on a group ride if I felt better. Welp until next time!!

I let the sales person know the model and size I wanted and let him know I was interested in accessories, as well. He was terse and seemed irritated I called as he informed me that it wouldn't arrive until October (this is June). {2020} I asked if I could get it any sooner or if I needed to preorder. He, in a very frustrated tone and manner, told me that I could call other stores around the country and see if they would be willing to ship it to me. I tried to explain that I was asking so that I could find out the procedure to buy and was trying to find out if I needed to pay for it in advance or pre-order it. After he let me know I wouldn't need to pre-pay; I started to ask another question with the intention of seeing if he had suggestions on other bikes that might work for me. When he interrupted me again with frustration in his voice, I hung up on him. Maybe he misunderstood the phrase "Keep Austin Weird" as "Keep Austin Wired". I'm guessing there are no commission sales. Either way, I'm pretty certain I can locate the model I am looking for elsewhere... Even if it's in October, another city, or an online retailer. Update: {2025} I ended up calling a store in San Marcos next. They were amazing and I ended up buying several bikes from them over the next 5 years, whil sending all my friends from Austin to them. I was talked into going to Mellow Johnnies a few months back to get some supplies to help a friend with his bike. At least they maintained some consistency, their service was terrible. Whether you are a noob or an experienced rider, I'd find another shop.
