Bike repairs can be intimidating, especially if you are a normal person that just wants to a basic bike up to speed for a kid to get around. We were having a hard time finding a good shop- everyone else seemed to be on a crazy long lead time or crazy expensive. Blur turned out to be great: fast, friendly, unpretentious and reasonable. This review is to express my displeasure and unprofessional experience with the lack of customer service skills from Erin. His behavior and reaction of getting loud and disrespectful towards me because of my dissatisfaction over an issue I had in regards to a missing reflector, reflects very badly towards Blur Cycleworks. I left highly disappointed, frustrated, and upset on how I was treated. The issue goes beyond about a missing reflector, it deals more with how a customer was treated from the moment when I walked into the store by Erin. I will take my business somewhere and I recommend other shops with better customer service and somewhere to be treated with respect as a paying customer. I did not purchase anything at Blur Cycleworks, but I did stop by and was greeted with amazing customer service. I was visiting the Austin area for the weekend and our baby stroller had not one, but two flat tires. I did not think to bring my bicycle hand pump or spare inner tubes. I Google mapped the nearest bicycle shop and it led me here. Not only did they inflate both tires, but they also checked the front tire and replaced the broken cap. They are a small shop so I asked to pay a fee for their service but they insisted that air is free and they have more than enough extra caps laying around. If I had my mountain bike with me, I would definitely drop it off for service here. I appreciate the help. read more

It's a pretty small place and no one was in there. You figure the two employees working would look up and acknowledge a customer walking in. I was about to walk out when John asked if he could help me. He took the time to explain the bikes types and tires ( Thank you John!) The reason for my 2star rating is because Éric did not look up at all and seemed annoyed. How did I know who Eric was? John said " This is Eric the shop owner ". These guys remind me of how specialty bike shops used to be before biking got "commercialized" Eric, Jenny and Brian can help you with anything Triathalon related up to and including bike repairs and accessories, bike fittings, training advice and injury prevention. They've even helped me make non-Blur related purchase decisions. They also do a ride that leaves from the bike shop most Saturday mornings that I have enjoyed. I had a problem with my tricycle and was so glad that Blur Cycleworks had a pick up and deliver service. I called and made an appointment for Friday, May 7 at 11:00. Benji came promptly at 11:00 and diagnose the problem. The spokes came lose from the back left wheel and since I have extra wheels Benji did not have to get a wheel. He told me getting a wheel was not an easy fix because they have to build one and it would take a long time. All I have to do was change the wheel and tire. Because I did the work I was not charged for it. I was so glad because I thought it was going to be expensive. Thank you so much Blur Cycleworks!!! read more

My son and I came in to get a new wheel and chain, but we were told they could fix the wheel instead. It took three weeks, then we paid $83 got it home and realized the wheel was still broken. We emailed, then were told to bring it in. They said that they would inspect it for free. We then got an aggressive email stating that we needed a new wheel for an additional $85 plus tax. If we don't want the wheel, they would charge an additional $25. For what?? We were quoted a free inspection- we paid the repair cost, but received a broken bike!!! Crooks and thieves. Don't be fooled by their other "reviews"- they are predatory! Wish I could give no stars! read more
