After reading Yelp reviews, I thought G'Town Cyclewerx looked like a great place to bring the bike. When we arrived at the store, we were met by Erika, who was very helpful and gave us options we hadn't previously considered. We left my bike at the store, while Erika followed up with an informative email. In the end, we decided to go ahead with a level 1 tune-up, plus the parts needed to make the bike usable again. We received a text message a few days later to let us know the bike was ready. It looked like new, and rides very well, save for the front brake rubbing on the wheel. Great experience all around. I went in last fall to get my 15 year mountain bike tuned. They warned me that the shifters might need to be replaced. When I picked it up they told me they didn't need to replace them. They very easily could've replaced regardless, I was expecting it, but they had the integrity to do what was best for me. Fast forward to Saturday. I went back because of the first service and went in to trade my 15 year old road bike in. The owner, Paul, was super helpful and gave me a very fair trade on what was once a top of the line bike. My son now has a brand new mountain bike and I am a giant fan of this business. This place rocks!!! We went to every bike shop in town searching for the perfect bike with all the parts we wanted within our price range. We finally settled on 2 bikes from bicycle sport shop. I looked up specialized dealers in the Austin area and this shop came up. I emailed Paul what we where looking for and the best price I found. What a gem! We are lucky to have this shop in Georgetown! Cyclewerx has made shopping for bikes a pleasure, and that's saying a lot because I don't like shopping in general, and also because I tend to get angsty making bigger purchases. I had THE best experience at Cyclewerx! My husband and I are relatively new to the area, and we've been saying for months we wanted to get bikes to enjoy the amazing bike paths around here. My brother, who lives in LA, warned me not just to get any old bike, since going the cheap route would certainly cost me more down the road. So hubby told me that he would do some research, but as these things usually go, he just did some research that never seemed to go anywhere. To be fair, every time I tried to do some research, I just got overwhelmed by all the information out there, and how much I didn't know. I haven't owned a bike since I think I was a teenager, and that was more than a couple of decades ago. So I really needed help. Finally I cried uncle with the DIY research bit, found Cyclewerx on yelp and was so impressed with all the excellent reviews, and we decided to go down there for ourselves. Paul (the owner) is the real deal. He is so knowledgeable, is super patient (we had about 50,000 questions, and we took awhile deliberating), and also, he doesn't try to sell you in any way-- he just informs you & lets you make up your mind without even the merest hint of pressure. He was interested to find out how we would be using the bikes so that he could help us zero in on which kind might be best. And he encouraged us to test ride any that we were interested in. Also, he never tried to upsell us in any way, didn't try to push accessories and all that jazz. Everything we bought we bought because we were interested in it and asked him to explain the pros and cons of specific purchases (like water bottle holder, helmets, kickstand, etc). We ended up buying one bike that was already in the shop, and then ordered a second one. And listen to this: he even delivered our bike to us! I really appreciated that extra touch. The bike wouldn't fit in our car, and we were nervous about riding it home since we don't have much street experience, so he was kind enough to arrange delivery with us. Plus he is very generous with his time and his knowledge, and he has a great manner of explaining things to you in a very effective way, but not in a way that ever makes you feel like you should already know the information. He's informative but never condescending. And he's attentive & never annoyed. His all-around graciousness is much appreciated by both of us! So in case it's not already obvious, I highly HIGHLY recommend Cyclewerx to anyone who is interested in bicycling culture. Whether you need a bike repaired, or a new bike, or any biking equipment, I cannot imagine going anywhere else. We are new customers, but we already know that we will be loyal, lifelong customers! And although I've only had the bike a handful of days, I have already ridden it many, many miles and I absolutely love everything about it! I've been to all of the specialized dealers near Austin. These guys are the best by a mile. Their work is much better than others in town and reasonably priced. They also do not push repair work that doesn't need to be done. Other specialized dealers near Austin are very bad about this. I will definitely buy my next bike from this shop. These guys are great to work with. Paul Littlefield, the owner, couldn't be a nicer or more professional guy. Everyone I have encountered that works there is very personable as well. I am a paraplegic and ride a handcycle. I brought my Top End Excellerator XLT Pro in for a tune-up and had them change all the tires and tubes. With 27 gears and trigger gear shift, I can speed through gears without any hesitation or slippage. The bike has never performed so well. With first class service, I would recommend this store to anyone who rides; from your first bike to the 50 miler a day, these guys are the best. read more

I admit I have a problem. i love bikes and the people who ride them and fix them are interesting creatures. I treat and frequent bike shops like some do bars and taverns. I have three shops that I use in the entire area and this is my favorite when it comes to atmosphere and flexibility. The entire staff is amazing and always willing to help.
