We had a great experience at Trek's repair shop when we brought in my parents' Schwinn cruisers that are well preserved but at least 50 years old. They were honest about the cost which we appreciated. We went ahead with the repairs because of the sentimental value. They are good as new and my daughter is now riding them in her new neighborhood. read more

Wonderful experience here! I entered on a hot day and was greeted by cold air and a very warm greeting from a lovely young lady smiling from ear-to-ear. I had called the day before asking if the store had any cable-end caps. She said yes and they would provide me with some when I came in. When I asked about them--they had them READY TO GO! Not much has changed from my August 2020 review when still a BSS shop, now under TREK flag...but, this shop is just as, if not more so, incredibly customer-focused than it's ever been. Under the leadership & management of Matty Lindemann, and many of his prior team, I knew I could count on them for my upcoming race - "Big Sugar" 103-mile gravel race, sponsored by Lifetime Fitness in the Ozark Mtns. of Arkansas & Missouri. I reached out to Matty to discuss my technical & set-up plans for the event's conditions, tires, etc.; and, I specifically requested Adonis to perform his expert race tune and set-up for me. Checking me in, Devin, as in the past had some excellent insights for my race planning as well, specifically be ready for 'plugging' punctures with my Dynaplug kit ;-). The staff member that helped me knew exactly what I needed and was friendly while checking out their inventory. Incredibly frustrated with new Trek store. We brought our bikes to be repaired last week and the location was closed for renovation and change in ownership. No mention of closure on website or on phones. Today we went back after reopening for repair on two bikes. I got out of car with no bikes to figure out what the protocol was as there was zero visible signage and the front entrance was roped off. There was no one in line. A salesperson came out to ask me what I needed and I was told they would check on status of the next repair person and to grab my bikes. I grabbed my bikes and by the time I got back to front there were four families in line and a new person came out with no mention of checking on a repair person for me. I waited in line for over 15 min until it was my turn at which time I was told it would be 30 min until someone could speak with me about repair. Never mind the 3 people who went before me after someone was "checking" for me. With two kids in the car with my husband we just couldn't wait for over 45 min to just be seen. Complete 180 from the type of customer service from previous store. Total disappointment. read more

They took my busted tube and had me repaired and ready to go quickly and I was a walk in case. They also provided me with a new wheel lock (mine had fallen off the vehicle in the parking lot) free of charge. Excellent service! read more

New'ish to biking and had a bunch of folks recommend Trek to me. The staff at the N. Parmer location is super friendly and knowledgable, while also answering my crazy amount of questions from every piece of gear to apparel to biking 101's. When there was an extended delay in my bike repair, the shop manager went out of his way to address the issues by expediting the work order. They were even so responsive that they brought in extra staff to sure up future operations and orderings. That's fantastic customer service! I took my freshly repaired bike on a ride yesterday and was absolutely in love. Overall, the crew was responsive and helpful. Definitely looking forward to my return visits. read more

Walked in I was in the facility for over 13 minutes not one person addressed if there were something they could help me with. I was looking at two five to $10,000 bike. His and hers. After speaking with my effort to the mechanic in the back he let me know the managers name was Rob, which he pointed him out, and I explain that guy looked me in my eyes three times, and never asked me if he could help. Wesley helped us chose some bicycles for our family we chose Specialized mountain bikes. Very nice bikes we've been riding almost daily around our neighborhood. Amazing Team at this bike shop. We recently moved to Austin and brought in our very Expensive ebikes to reassemble back from our move. One bike was damaged by movers. They took such great care of our bikes, fitted mine with new off road performance tires. Gave it a great new look! Adonis is the Man you wanna go see!! He is professional and an expert at customer service. They put everything together for a reasonable price vs what we would have paid any place else. This is our favorite new bike shop in Austin. Adonis recommended new trails, advised and educated us on rules and best helmets. We picked up great helmets, the next day. What a great crew! From the front end reception to the repair folks "in the back." I can't say enough nice things about the equally nice guys that welcomed me to the store and answered my many questions. I've a vintage bike (1981 Trek 400 6-speed) that I'm letting go of to update my bikeware. Devin took the time to explain the different components and what needed repairing. He even helped me consider a selling point for the bike following some research he did on the spot in which he googled what the price range point was. I'd consign the bike to them for sure If they were in the business of doing consignments--cause they know their stuff; all bike geeks. On top of that, as I was paying for the bike wash, one guy volunteered to take off an old chain I'd asked about and offered to inflate my tires without without my having to ask. The staff are what make a great store. I started coming here a little over a year ago and I consistently bring the shop headscratcher problems. The first was a drivetrain click and when I wasn't happy they took the bike back 3 times until we finally figured what it was. The persistence impressed me, so I've gone back with 3 other bikes I bought online. Now that the name has changed to Trek I keep going back because the staff knows me there. There are hiring staff to process the insane demand 2020 created and the people training those staff are the old employees. So the same shop ethos is still there. I really appreciate the extra special care taken by Alicia, Adonis, Devin, Frederico, Jake, and several others who's names escape me right now. read more

I was at the end of a 30 mile ride and got a pinch flat on the tracks a mile up the road on both tires! Only 5 miles left and all I wanted to do was freak out. I called trek and hoofed it there. I spoke to a nice guy named Crawford and told him my situation. He put both tubes on my tires free of charge and gave me a discount. In the mean time I spoke with Matthew about gear and maintenance on my bike. They were both so helpful and non judgmental of my lack of knowledge. Honestly the coolest guys you could ever meet. This place is great! I only came in to see if my bike needed a 'tune up'. They did that for free! I had tons of other questions and the gentleman in the 'mechanical section' answered any and all questions and even offered me a beer! No joke they offer you beer while you wait for free! Making an account just to warn people of this terrible shop. Sure when things are good they are good. But god help you if you have a serious issue with this shop. DO NOT bring your expensive bike to this shop. It's been over a year and a half since this shop caused damage to my $10,000 bike with no movement of promised resolution to replace my frame. Communication is nearly none existent. Any many emails, text, calls and visits to the shop they still need to be hounded for updates which from what I can tell they aren't even working on. I even contacted corporate offices and that has made no difference in my situation. BE CAREFUL. As if you have a serious issue that needs resolution on your prized possession they will leave you stranded. Terrible service. Terrible store management. Just Terrible. I am defeated by this situation with this shop. read more

These guys are awesome. I just recently got into biking and started out on a cheap bike from Academy. When I realized I enjoyed biking a lot but needed a better bike, I came to these guys. They talked to me about what I wanted and what riding I was going to do and then had me try a series of bikes. They never pushed, just asked how I liked each one and made sure that I got the bike that was right for me.... not the most expensive one they could sell me. *There's an addendum at the bottom of this review as my concerns will be addressed by BSS.* Disappointing just about sums it up for me as I never encountered a problem with their repair service until now. My bike needed repairs and I expected it to take time and money to repair it, but I never imagine it would take almost a month and $800 to fix it. Everything was an up sell, like handle grips and pedals, even with my refusal I was "assured" that a specific repair or a part ordered was necessary in order for another repair to occur. I tried to reason with the mechanic to get one thing done at a time, like replacing the cables attached to the gear shifts but I was told that I would need to sign a waiver in case something happened to me. I'm coming off an ankle cast and told the mechanic that I wouldn't ride the bike until after my physical therapy ended in late September but he wouldn't let it go. At that point I should have left and gone across the street to AJ Cyclery. But my loyalty to BSS overruled it. My initial repair was at $600 but I received a call that a thingamajig (sorry I don't know bike parts) broke during the repair and needed to order a new one, and get this, it was going to cost me $25. I told BSS that I didn't break it and why should I pay for it. Well, it was already cracked and it was eventually going to break. How about I eventually pay for it? Needless to say my bike was finally ready, and some of the things that I was told were going to get repaired did not occur, like new cable housing, and at this point I was like Pee Wee Herman dying for his bike. Was it fixed? NO! I took it for a test drive and I couldn't get into a low-low gear. I took it back and guess what they told me? You don't want to be in that gear as it could strain your chain. Really? Riding this bike for 10 years in and around cross country trails in Austin I NEVER had a problem getting in and on that low gear. Que lastima. *I received a call from Morgann about this review, coincidently I was in BSS to get some finishing touches to the repairs done on my Cannondale when he recognized me. We spoke about what happened and my experiences and assured me that they would learn from this situation so no one goes through similar experience. I will say this; I was impressed with the manner in which my concerns were addressed and with the confidence Morgann has in his technicians that I felt better about all of this and I do plan on returning to BSS.* read more

I keep coming here for some reason. Maybe because it's close to the house and that I bought my bike here. Regardless, I don't know how I'm paying 100 bucks to get a brake caliper replaced that I brought in because a screw popped out so I have to replace the whole item? I know there are a couple things you can do yourself but sometimes you want a trained eye to make sure you don't lose your brakes on a ride again. Since they supply the bikes I have, I go with them to make sure it's done correctly. But my deal is just why I shell out money when I come here. Specifically this location too. I've gone to the one on Braker (which I should have probably gone to) but again, location is convenience. It's the second time I've had to wait for a part to come in and lose my bike for a week. Besides my complaints, the facilities are organized, tidy and clean. Strong selection of bikes and no pressure on the sale end. I think I need to just suck it up and get my own tools so I can take care of my own bike. Just sucks not having a garage. read more

My stolen mountain bike was recovered by the police and returned to me heavily damaged. Being so unexpected, my budget to repair the bike was limited. Kelly worked with me to help keep the repair cost to a minimum. When I went to pick the bike up, Adonis noticed that my front break was in poor shape (I had denied the service due to expense) and performed a complimentary service as I waited. When it was time to pay for the service, there were no unexpected fees or charges and the guys had even collected my old parts to be returned to me or recycled. I really like the team members in this store. They are friendly and customer focused. They stand behind all products they sell, and also have a fantastic group in the service department. It's refreshing to see smiling faces in a bike service department. While some may grumble about the store being "corporate", they all live and work here. So, what's the difference? The retail side prices items without a LBS premium, and the service department is friendly with straight forward pricing. You will not find a grumbling bike mechanic leaning on the tip jar here. They want to do service outside AND with a mask. Currently on an antibiotic and can't be in the sun. Along with having asthma and wearing the mask in 106 degree weather, is not doable, feasible or health. I know nothing about bicycles. I went here because my girlfriend's bike was in the garage for a couple of years and needed to be in riding ready shape. The guy at the service area was tremendously helpful. He put the broken up bike back together and made sure it was safe for my girlfriend! I also wanted to purchase a bike for my self so I can ride it at Brushy Creek park. Wesley was great. Another gentleman was helping too, I think he was new, did not have a name tag. But they both were great, helped get a new bike and the gear I wanted at a fair price. I would highly recommend this location! read more

I'll start by saying I've never bought anything here! BUT I would have. I stopped by with my jogging stroller, fully prepared to need new tires/tubes. One of my tires was bulging and I had zero luck trying to fix it myself. They could have easily sold me, but they said I didn't need to buy a thing. They took the tire off and fixed it in a matter of seconds and even made sure the other tires were inflated properly. I'm very grateful for their time and integrity. read more

Ok so just when you think customer service is a lost art - you HAVE TO buy a bike or any accessory here! My wife and step-son first went to this bike shop to purchase a helmet. The service was over the top....they helped my step son pick out a helmet and were extremely patient (he's only six)....the costumer service was equal to them spending several thousand dollars..... A couple of weeks went by and we all went there to buy my wife a bike. Again the customer service was great! Matty, the manager, gave me a discount even though it wasn't their store policy to offer a military discount. Then I have to talk about TC, he was the employee who helped my wife pick her bike. The choice was narrowed down to two bikes.....both really good bikes. I asked TC if there was something more expensive to meet my wife's riding needs......and this is the part, now that I think about it, that makes me a dedicated customer..... TC talked to me about a couple of options, but recapped my wife's current riding needs and told me either of the two bikes we were looking at would suffice.....and we didn't need to spend more money.... TC (keep in mind had only been working there a short time), with the greed I see in today's society - I truly applaud this shop, it's manager (Matty) and TC's integrity - especially to sell us the best product based on my wife's current riding needs and not just sell us on something more expensive.... Again, what a great experience! .....but it doesn't stop there.....they helped us pick out some accessories (we asked about them and they didn't try to sell us), we purchased a bike rack for the car - Matty helped us order it from another store and he even had it delivered in just a couple of hours. Then TC helped us install it - I wanted to make sure my wife could come back and get help if necessary...and remember those accessories we purchased? Some of those were for my step-son's bike (which we didn't purchase there) - well in case you don't know where I'm going with this.....yes, they even helped us install the accessories on my step-son's bike........thank you guys!
