So i didn't need it for an extended period n when i opened it long after the 30 day period it was several inches shorter than the SAME EXACT item. The woman spoke over me the entire time, took no responsibility, and made it sound like it was my fault. I ordered gifts for my friends and when I received the package saying, "Coronavirus" in the biggest font, my stomach dropped. I'm sure that anyone who has been sick or lost anyone would understand. After giving them an opportunity to make it better, I eventually asked for a complete refund. Which they did. I placed an order on March 28th and was told to wait for 2 week lead time. Which already I thought made no sense. Then 2 weeks turned into 4 weeks. It's been 30 days now and still no tracking. The customer service was immediately willing to cancel and refund my purchase, which means they haven't even gotten to my order yet. I went to live chat and got some scripted nonsense. Why the hell would old orders cause a time extension unless people are cutting the queue? Then they go into some crap about how they don't have enough technicians to handle the holsters due to COVID. You mean your company is infected? Any monkey can craft their holsters, It's pressed from a mold with a machine. I purchased the new Chest Rig, because I think it's a good carry holster if you can't wear a belt or simply don't like belt carry. I think drawing from the chest is just as effective. All it is, is the same cloak tuck shell on top of the chest rig base. They gave me a bunch of nonsense about craftsmanship and polishing when we all know you can get a custom holster pressed at your local range the same day if you go in early. Go to Amazon and Buy a quality holster there, because they're not allowed to sell things they don't actually have in stock. No company would intentionally delay an order unless they don't actually have merchandise. Don't buy from these guys, You'll quickly feel they don't value their customers. they just give you the runaround. read more

Their customer service is lacking. Their website doubled my order and charged me twice. Fraudulent! I notified their service department minutes after I received the email of the incorrect order on the same day. 4 days later they shipped the order. Day after order shipped I miraculously got an email that the order was shipped and they couldn't fix the fraudulent charges. They said I could just ship back the order. So they charged me twice, didn't respond for 4 days, and now I need to fix the issue by taking the time to do a return? They made multiple mistakes and are asking me to correct it with my time? No discount or other option offered for their mistakes that are documented? I've had better service using Chinese crap that is similar in quality. Makes me sad..."Made in America" used to mean quality product and service. Not the case here. There's comparable products for a fraction of the cost, have a superior service structure, and much more customizable for attachments. I was looking for a magazine holster for an extra magazine, I wanted one that would sit horizontally on my belt I looked at several companies their sites were confusing and didn't work well with left handed shooter. These guys had the one that worked and they have 24/7 online chat so I was able to explain what I wanted and got the right holsters for my needs. I got two, one for my Shield 9mm and one for my 45 ACP 1911 the directions were very good with pictures and a good description of how to set up the holster as it can be worn inside and outside of the waistband. The cant or angle of the holster has a lot of different angles due to the way its designed and it is ambidextrous, it has a little pocket built in for the Allen wrench to adjust the tension on the magazine too. They work great with both 8 and 10 round magazines. I look forward to more great products from Alien Gear. read more

Waited 4 weeks for this to be delivered, after the 4th week contacted customer service (after being informed they do not reply to emails any longer) and being on hold for 25 minutes only to be informed it would be another 4-6 weeks before I would receive my product. Do not waste your time with this company. I completely understand delays to COVID. Still no excuse for the lack of customer service. Ordered on 6/24. Lead time was 2-3 weeks. As of today have not received any communication on the status of the order. Called customer service and left my number to call back on their automated system. 25 minutes later got a call back stating I was next in line. 15 minutes after being on hold finally got a rep who could care less about me or my business. All I got was we have 40,000 orders and COVID is impacting them that orders are taking 8 weeks to fill! Even got, "good news you are done with 4 weeks. Only 2-4 weeks to go". Cancelled immediately after hearing that. I get the issues that are happening. Why not put something on your website that states orders are taking 8 weeks? Why not send some communication out once the originally delivery date has passed? Why not have people working on customer care that have empathy? I had a few snags when ordering one of these holsters from their website, but it was the holidays and they were pretty slammed. They took the time to reach out to me personally to resolve my issue and in the end I got the holster I wanted. I am extremely pleased with the holster and with Alien Gear's efforts to resolve any issues I had. As for the holster specifically, it's the Alien Gear ShapeShift 4.0 IWB Holster. It's very comfortable and extremely easy to work with. The design is modular and toolless, which I didn't think was really important until I began to tune it to suit me. It's nice that I can replace the clips, move the clip positions, adjust retention, and even replace the main plastic shell without needing to buy a whole new holster. The neoprene base is really comfortable, and the rubber (or whatever the material is) that the neoprene is attached to feels really strong. I've also ordered a leather IWB holster from a different company, as I was thinking leather would be the most comfortable, but now I'm not so sure. I'll update the review once the leather one comes in. One thing I doubt the leather will have is the precision snapping sound when you slide your gun into the holster. I can get my finger into the trigger area and hook my finger nail on the trigger through the back side of the trigger guard without much effort! When I called in, angry about this, I received customer service that tried to justify their work stating that they had a lot of new people and that it is rare for something to make it into the trigger guard area. Rare? These are firearms! It should not be rare! It should be impossible! I have a Tulster holster. I know what an trigger guard done right looks like and Alien Gear is not providing that. Ordered was placed 12/10. Estimated ship date 12/25-12/31. When it didn't ship, I reached out and was told it would ship by 1/7. It is currently 1/13 still being told it is in production. I requested partial refund for this exaggerated delay, and was told I can only be refunded fully if I cancel the order. Got the dual holster option and neither gun fit. They didn't even try to put the most common handgun in the world into the holster before sending it. Yes, I adjusted and even replaced the retention screws. At best, with the screws backed out as far as possible, the slide moved backward when holstering. Theu seriously couldn't even test it before sending it to me? Wtf is wrong with them? So now I have to repackage their garbage and send it back? I paid them $150, got a pos, and now have to take my time to fix the situation. Never again. Total aholes. read more

I bought two of their holsters strictly for the shell exchange feature - I tend to buy/sell/trade pistols often, and buying new holsters gets expensive. First and only time I tried to use the shell exchange program, Alien Gear completely botched it. They advised a return shipping method that failed, then shipped my replacement shells to the wrong address. Now, they refuse to believe I ever shipped them my holsters in the first place, despite evidence to the contrary. Essentially, I'm now out two holsters due to their mistakes with shipping, and they refuse to replace them. Might as well have thrown them out the window. read more

Just received my Shapeshifter Starter Kits for 1911 and S&W M&P. Very poor quality. The IWB configuration does not even cover the trigger guard fully, much less secure it. The "how-to" videos are worthless. The owner wastes a lot of time on supposedly how much better the new version is than the 3.0 and supposedly how much time they put into the user's manual. Unfortunately, when IWB, the holster is only half a holster. The OWB is decent, but I mainly carry IWB, and only one side of the holster is secured! And it isn't the trigger side! In any case, I am returning these as soon as I received them. Really disappointed. Thought these would be cool, but they are useless for IWB carry. read more

1ST Fitment issues. Wouldn't allow reholstering of CZ75B fullsize, even with their larger spacers. Take down pin was not properly molded to the kydex even though the lower detent for pin was present lower down on holster. However, you first need to get the gun in the holster which was prevented by the right side of the take down pin. Sent pics to customer service who saw exactly what the problem was. I was advised to either file down the take down pin or take a heat gun to brand new holster and make an indentation in the new kydex to allow for the pin to slide in. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO JIMMY RIG MY NEW HOLSTER TO GET PROPER FITMENT WHICH WAS SUPPOSED TO BE SPECIFIC TO MY PARTICULAR GUN. 2ND - No clips available to replace belt loops by Aliengear for quick on/off without removing belt. 3RD - No can't (angle) adjustment available. 3 STARS MAX. I purchased two shields for my two guns. When I received them the shields didn't fit my exact guns because I had the older models guns. SigP229 and HK USP compact 45. I had to remould them with a heat gun. After that I have had no problems. Alien Gear did send me a second shield to try out for the Sig p229 but it didn't fit either. My model has a differnet trigger guard shape and no rail. They told me to keep both shields. Overall I feel these holsters are very good, comfortable, low cost but yet good quailty read more

The holsters are pretty good although you need to be vigilant in keeping the fasteners from loosening. This review is about the response from the website. I purchased an XDm with a 4.5 inch barrel around the time the shapeshift came out. I decided to wait for the shapeshift to be available for this gun. When I ask when it will be I get a stock answer to sign up for emails. The closest I have come to an answer was a real person told me today that he can only comment about what is on the calendar. That lets me know they haven't even planned to make it for my Xdm. I'm tired of waiting. I want to carry this gun and will have to go to another manufacturer. read more
