I would like to preface by saying thatI frequently shop at the Post Falls Cabelas and usually have a great experience. However, I had an extremely frustrating experience at Cabela's due to one of the salesmen, Chad. My friend is a legal Idaho resident with an Idaho driver's license and meets all residency requirements to purchase a handgun in Idaho. Despite this, Chad refused to proceed with the sale because my friend is temporarily living out of state for school, which is not disqualifying under federal law. What made this worse was Chad's attitude. He was rude, dismissive, and unwilling to listen, and when we asked to speak with a manager to clarify the situation, he flat-out refused to get one. No explanation, no attempt to verify policy, just a hard no and an unprofessional tone. If this is a corporate policy issue, that's fine but customers deserve accurate information and respectful service, not misinformation and stonewalling. Refusing to escalate to a manager when requested is unacceptable. I expected better from a company of this size. I'll be taking my business to a local gun shop that actually understands the law and treats customers with respect. read more

Cabela's is a great place for fishermen to shop. Bruce at the fly shop is so nice, he helped me get my first fly outfit and eventually a fly tying kit. They have great bass fishing stuff also. A little pricey though. read more

Bought a 400 dollar red dot from this store. The guy wouldn't let me dry fit it to my pistol slide (which I had disassembled in the parking lot and brought in with me). He said it was too expensive of a product to take out of the box unless I bought it first. After that red flag I showed some hesitation and he said okay but he would be the one doing it. He turned around and did it to where I couldn't see the box and then put the optic in the slide. Flashed it to me and said "fits like a glove" then put it back in the box. I just thought it was poor customer service and nothing else but I bought it and when I got home the red dot had obviously been well used and then returned. Many of the items that came with were damaged or missing AND the red dot its self was not working at all. there is no way this employee could have missed it if he was even the slightest bit observant. Now I get to drive all the way back from Cheney to get my 400 bucks back and take my business elsewhere read more

I have my own FFL. I asked to purchase a firearm from the gun library, first guy didn't have a clue, other than to tell me "every employee wanted to buy that gun but didn't have the money". He then tells me the phones have been ringing off the hook because "we just got hundreds of guns off this old guy, and we didn't pay much so they are selling good". He gets the next guy who walks in and introduces himself as "an ATF rep". Cabelas uniform, cabelas nametag. He proceeds to tell me he's going to have me fill out a 4473 and do a background check. I repeat I have my FFL and ID and I'm buying it for the store, with a little too much Barney Fife, he says "yeah, that's what we will need to do." I promptly turn and walk out, he yells after me, "yeah well you have a nice day"'. I get it, minimum wage employees are just not invested in selling anything, they are getting paid the same if they sell or not, but jeez, at least train them so they don't look like complete morons in front of another dealer. These are the same Gestapo that were ID'ing people for mags to make sure Washington Residents weren't buying high caps. Cabelas has long warn out their novelty, prices have crept up, customer service is crap. I guess as employees go you get what you pay for. read more

So I made the mistake of going to Cabelas the week before Christmas. I walked in and grabbed about $370 dollars worth of gear and made my way to the checkout line. I was, I'm guessing about 65 people back from register and moved about 6 steps in 10 minutes. I promptly wandered the store and put the stuff in my cart back and left. I then drove the 15 to 20 minutes to Black sheep filled my basket and waited less than 6 minutes to checkout. I'm guessing I still saved about 30 minutes even with the drive. Here's an idea for the manager of Cabelas, go a couple blocks up the road and see what Walmart does and then mirror that. I went back a two days later thinking that it was a weekday and the through put might be a little less. The parking lot was not as full but unfortunately the checkout line was about the same, so I turned around and left. I don't think I will ever return to that store again. read more

I had a bad experience with poor customer service. I bought a descent orvis flyfishing reel. Less than 1 year and the drag does not work. They would not help with refunds or returns. Very disappointed in how I was treated. Will not return to this store. read more

I was robbed today! It worked out ok, thanks to the incredible staff at Cabela's who worked quickly as a team to find the person who stole my cart (with all of personal belongings in it) on the cameras, who did not let them leave with my stuff, got it back to me, and somehow even convinced them to return to the store front to be confronted by PD after they had left. I interacted with about 10 staff members in my 1.5 hr visit at Cabela's today and every single one of them showed customer service above and beyond expectations. And on a crazy Black Friday weekend to boot! I also had a great Samaritan return as they were leaving to stay and help me by calling my phone, walking the store, and helping me call PD. Also, I got a great deal on some high quality merchandise! Thank you so much Cabela's! This was not my first visit to this store, nor will it be my last. read more

I drove down from Oldtown ID, to look at fish finders. I arrived at 10:15 went to the fish finder desk. The guy was on break so I had to wait 15 minuets. When he returned He was the least informed person on fish finders ever. I was asking about the difference between clearview and other brands. He had no idea what I was talking about. I also stopped by the binocular section that guy was just as worthless as the fish finder guy. I will be spending my money some wear else. read more

The customer service in the fishing section was terrible today 7/28/24, with the employee laughing at our questions and being condescending. In asking a second question while he was with the two other employees in the fish finder section(all 3 were on their phone), they failed to acknowledge us and proceeded to laugh again when we asked another question. I came here today to buy a Shimano Curado DC 200, and a Garmin fish finder for my kayak. Left with nothing after an hour. Has 2 employees point where to go look when I told them what I was after, but that's it. Once in the fishing department I couldn't get any help. I watched a few other people get helped. Stood at the fishing counter with the reel I wanted in my hands for 15 minutes and was avoided by both employees behind the counter. I'm in a polo, clean cut, and intentional about eye contact. I spent $4k here last month buying my old town kayak, a couple poles, reels, gear and have the receipts to prove it. This is so frustrating read more

Just say yes to Cabelas. Just say no to bass pro shops. I like Cabela's I wish it would stay the way it was. But bass pro shops bought it bass pro shops are now trying to slowly turn it into a bass pro shop. It's disheartening to see the selection dwindling. We went to Cabela's to buy our Kayaks. They had a great selection and we found exactly the ones we wanted. We settled on the Ascend Hybrid 10 ft. My husband loved how easy it was to maneuver. Leanne was wonderful to work with. She was helpful, courteous and very friendly. She made the purchase a breeze! Highly recommend this store and ask for Leanne, you won't be disappointed. read more

Here we are years later and the customer service remains deplorable. Unfortunately for me, I will continue to come here because my 3 year old loves this place. I am known to have some pretty extreme limitations with my body... the last time I was here my kid was a saint so I let her pick out a stuffed animal but when we got up to the register the thing wouldn't ring up. The 2 women working the registers argued in front of me as to wHo was going back to grab one that would ring up! At this point I had exerted most of my energy and my legs were garbage so me going back wasn't an option. The women settled their argument by coming to the conclusion that neither of them would go back nor get an animal that would ring up properly. Wow, this place is HUGE. I particularly like the hill in the middle of the store with all the "stuffed" animals and the aquarium at the back. There may have been a shooting range to one side, but I didn't get over there to check it out. While in Spokane on this trip, I needed to find some hiking shoes that would work for Alaska and Phoenix. I know. I was really looking for two different shoes. Hiking to a glacier in Alaska would be a nice Cabela's hiking shoe that is waterproof, but hiking Camelback would need to be something entirely different. Maybe that is why I couldn't find the perfect shoe here, nor anywhere else in Spokane, for that matter. I will say that this store had the best selection, by far. I wished that I'd had more time to shop the clothing, too. Yes, it is worth the drive out here to Stateline to visit the store. I don't think that you'll regret it. read more

I haven't been in this building in years. I used to stop whenever I was passing through town . . . . . . but the past is the past. Prices seem to have gone up more than other similar stores and the customer service has suffered. I have a cane and can't stand for long and it took too long to get a customer service rep. for firearms. When I finally did they had nothing I was interested in, and the rep was a 'big gun' guy who scoffs at anyone wanting any handgun smaller than a .40 . . . Well, Sportsman's Warehouse is closer to my house and has better staff . . . still, sad to see an old favorite store has forgotten that customer service is job #1. read more

We came here for a Santa visit for the second year and were really overjoyed. It was a weeknight and my 2 year old son of course wanted nothing to do with sitting on Santa's lap. After the second attempt and unhappy photo we went to hang out nearby so he could watch the other kids for awhile. Santa Sandy was slow so he came to hang out with my son for a bit. Eventually he took my son's hand and brought him to his chair where he willingly sat on his lap for a photo. Not only did this kindness cause me to make multiple purchases here but I will be bringing my son back every Christmas to see Santa Sandy. What an amazing guy. read more

They have an incredible selection of outdoor sporting goods, but that is about where things end.. There isn't anything in this store that I can find elsewhere for less. In fact, they are pretty much the HIGH price leader - although they do stock some of the best premium items (which I expect to sell for more). Unfortunately I lost a lot of respect for this business after observing how this location doesn't seem to care about covid. I visited twice within 3 months time and on both occasions I observed ~40% of their customers not wearing a mask, yet every one of the employees seemed to look the other way. I didn't feel comfortable shopping so I had to leave without buying anything. I really used to like Cabelas. I gave them a second chance during covid, but I'm not sure I will come back here ever again after learning they refuse to take covid seriously at the expense of their customer's health and safety. There are alternative sporting good stores in Spokane that I would feel much better about giving my money to from now on. read more

With 4 six month Heeler puppies I decided I needed a little help training them so I purchased a Sportdog E-Collar and receiver along with an additional collar. Long story made short, it turns out the box with the receiver and collar had been opened and returned, there several missing pieces in the box. What made this purchase complicated is I live 2 hours from Post Falls so returning the items was a challenge. Turns out the customer service at the Post Falls Cabela's is beyond superior! I spoke with 2 ladies, Katherine and Dawn, they both were so helpful and were determined to 'make this situation right'! I ended up mailing back both collars via UPS and not only did they refund my credit card for the full purchase of the E-Collars they mailed me a gift card for more than what it cost to mail back the merchandise! I am so very impressed with how professional they handled this situation and did everything possible to make it right. Thank you so much Katherine and Dawn! I so appreciate your help! read more

So disappointed in Cabela's customer service. They are one of the worst stores ever when it comes to customer service. I went to make a payment on my credit card and the idiots behind the counter didn't know how to figure out how to except a payment on a credit card. I will never shop there again. Also I waited in the customer service line for 15 minutes only to find out that I'm in the wrong place to make a payment. But of course nobody in the store can tell me exactly where I was supposed to go in order to make this payment. I bought 22LR ammo online and I would not recommend buying it from cabalas reason one when I first bought it online they never sent me a tracking number reason two I have a smith and Wesson 15/22 and I shot it with their ammo and I had multiple failures to eject and failure to fire. I'm really disappointed with my purchase because I thought that ammo was rated for semi auto 22s but I would not waste your time buying it off of their website No I would not recommend buying ammo from them and the last thing I'm gonna say is when you load that ammo it lodges backwards in the photo below read more

The customer service is completely lacking. I placed an online in store pickup order for an in stock item for Christmas. I was told by an unfriendly older blonde lady that this "is not Walmart" and that pick up in store items must be shipped to the store. She did not even bother to check stock. I pulled the item up on my phone and she told me She didn't know where the item would be located in the store. I ended up having to find the item on my own and purchase it a second time to have it in time for Christmas. This system sure seems clunky, maybe if Cabela's took a page out of Walmart's book their customer service lady might not be so grumpy. I will note the younger girls that run the cash registers are great. They were super friendly and even offered help out to my car. read more
