What a cute little shop! I've driven past many times and wanted to stop in and check it out, but it…read morewas closed every time I went by. Well, they have some regular hours for the holiday season and now is the perfect time to go see this Francine's, which is in the same location as 7th Avenue Nails & Spa. The owner, Tammy, is a wonderful lady and soooo friendly! The boutique has a nice selection of vintage women's clothing- mostly dresses and coats, a few pairs of shoes and some BEAUTIFUL vintage ladies' hats. Tammy told me that she focuses on acquiring clothing from the 30's-70's and she makes sure that every piece is in excellent condition. The prices aren't bad at all, and they are running a 30% off every item in the store sale right now. There's also a nice selection of vintage costume jewelry and some handmade scarves. As I mentioned, there are several vintage coats on the racks here, and when I asked Tammy about a particularly saucy leopard print one, she revealed that vintage coats are her true passion. The prices aren't bad at all, especially with the extra 30% discount! Since there's a nail salon here too, I happened to be lucky enough to pick up a few bottles of clearance OPI and China Glaze at only (drumroll please) $2 a bottle! Wow, I am really excited about these - four bottles for less than the price of one normally! One of the best things about Francine's is their merchandise from the Anne Taintor (www.annetaintor.com) collection. These vintage-inspired accessories for modern life are hilarious. Go to the website and check them out. Tammy let me know that Francine's is the exclusive southside retailer to carry the line. If you have any woman on your Christmas list this year, you are sure to find a perfect gift for her in this collection. Francine's is having a holiday extravaganza the weekend of December 6 and 7. There are special sales every couple of hours and it sounds like it's totally worth stopping in to take advantage of these discounts! Hours are Saturday 10:00-6:00 and Sunday 12:00-5:00. Happy shopping!

How can you beat you $2 for EVERYTHING? Fun little thrift shop. The ladies that work in here are…read morefriendly and willing to help if you need any help. I have a thing for costume jewelry and they have a lot of it. They have clothes, coats, jackets, shoes, a few books, jewelry, and odds and ends. At $2 I have not found any good designer high end pieces but it is fun just to look and see what you discover. The place is fairly small but crammed full of things and I did find quite a few items that were new with tags. Go give it a look and see what you can find!

She was excited to tell me more when I asked at checked out too. I was the only customer in the store during my visit and I appreciate that she didn't stalk me or bother me while I was shopping. The store was originally located in Beech Grove for 8 years, but the owner is from Morristown and hated driving so far, so she eventually relocated it closer to her. I'm giving 3 stars because it's one of the most disorganized thrift stores I've been in. There is next to no organization. The racks are labeled with sizes, but I always found lots of other sizes mixed in. And clothing is not separated by category. There's 3-4 racks of each size spread all throughout the store and each rack has anything from swimsuits to dresses to jackets on it. When I was greeted, she said "it's a treasure hunt". It was definitely a hunt trying to sort through the mess. The lighting is dim, there were at least two larger rooms not being used for merchandise and a large section in the middle of the main room closed off housing misc appliances. They have one fitting room that is literally a closet with a mirror. I think they would do a lot better if they organized the items better. Most people don't like digging through stuff...even for $2 items. She also said they take donations, but they've only had 5 since being at this location. Check out their FB page for new items and promotions. I received a free jewelry item for checking in on FB and was entered for a raffle drawing too.

I sought out this store to exchange a Christmas gift. I received a shirt that was too big. During…read morethe exchange process, an employee stated my brand of shirt, Roper, runs a size larger than normal. The cashier took my shirt and told me to select another shirt to replace mine. The store was big but I stopped at the first shirt section I came to. The selection of shirts was much more extensive than I was expecting and this was only one section in the men's clothing area. There were other areas of shirts to browse but I was able to find what I liked right away. The Western style shirt I selected to exchange was the second one I picked because the first one did not have a medium size on the rack. I tried it on over my shirt I was wearing just make sure it was the right size. I liked the deep blue snaps on that shirt. I ended up having to pay another seven dollars for the Cody James shirt I selected because I believe the original gift shirt was on sale. It still cost less than $50 and was a high quality, expensive looking patterned Western cut shirt. I didn't know this store existed previously so now that I know it's here, I will come back to shop for future needs.
