Don't let the stairs deter you from visiting as a ramp is located to the left of the stairs. It is slightly steep but manageable for most. You are entering two floors of gorgeous country, farmhouse, and primitive decor. Every inch of the two floors is staged beautifully. Most of the items sold have wonderful displays of how to use the merchandise. Wonderful ideas, and if you have any questions, just ask for assistance. The owner, I'm assuming, was friendly and answered all my questions. She allowed us to wander at our pace and not be underfoot. I was only capable of browsing the main floor today, but I do plan on returning to tackle the second floor stairs on May 6th. I love 95% of every display I saw. The merchandise is lovely, good quality, and makes an instant impact on your decor. Regardless of your decor, you'll most likely find something you can add to your home. She was excited to tell me more when I asked at checked out too. I was the only customer in the store during my visit and I appreciate that she didn't stalk me or bother me while I was shopping. The store was originally located in Beech Grove for 8 years, but the owner is from Morristown and hated driving so far, so she eventually relocated it closer to her. I'm giving 3 stars because it's one of the most disorganized thrift stores I've been in. There is next to no organization. The racks are labeled with sizes, but I always found lots of other sizes mixed in. And clothing is not separated by category. There's 3-4 racks of each size spread all throughout the store and each rack has anything from swimsuits to dresses to jackets on it. When I was greeted, she said "it's a treasure hunt". It was definitely a hunt trying to sort through the mess. The lighting is dim, there were at least two larger rooms not being used for merchandise and a large section in the middle of the main room closed off housing misc appliances. They have one fitting room that is literally a closet with a mirror. I think they would do a lot better if they organized the items better. Most people don't like digging through stuff...even for $2 items. She also said they take donations, but they've only had 5 since being at this location. They specialize in 70s/80s/90s apparel an have tons of old band tees and graphic tees from those decades. Things seem to be organized by price in the store and range from under $20 to over $100. This is a fun "treasure hunt" type of store, however I felt like things were overpriced. $70 for a band tee that's pretty faded and probably came from a Goodwill donation? I could see paying that for something in pristine condition but most things are "lived in" pieces. There's a good section of local and Indiana specific items as well as jerseys and racing jackets which collectors might find to be at a good price. I will go back for sure but hesitant to purchase unless the prices come down a little more.

Lunch Money Boutique emphasizes sustainable fashion for the kiddos (Am I the only one who wrestles with whether to spell it as kiddos or kiddoes?). Lunch Money is located next to Byrne's Grilled Pizza. I really do love this corner, though it's definitely more of a premium corner in terms of shopping. Lunch Money? The styles are adorable (and yes, leaning toward "luxury"). The employees are friendly. The store itself is nicely designed and a genuinely pleasing atmosphere. I'm not sure what it says about me that these newborns have better fashion sense than I do, but if their parents shop here it's definitely true. For those with mobility issues, entering from the back is your best option in terms of accessibility. There is a step up-front. It's my one major downer for this entire neighborhood - it's just not particularly wheelchair friendly. I didn't end up buying anything on this visit, though I undoubtedly would. If you're looking for more premium options and care about sustainability, I'd definitely recommend a visit here. As an added plus, this is also the same building as Kids Ink. While I'm getting old enough that most of my friends don't have young children, on those occasions when I am looking for options for the children in my life I won't hesitate to return here.

After I informed her I grew up in the local area, she immediately started rambling about her neighbors from India. It was completely inappropriate, micro-aggressive, and made me wonder if she subjects all people of color to this kind of treatment. To make matters worse, I had to return to the store because I was shorted an item due to a system error. The store was nearly empty, but I could immediately tell she was heated and just wanted me gone. I brought an item to exchange and asked about stock for a few others, which is a standard request for a store employee. Instead of helping, her tone got meaner and her voice grew so loud that it felt like I was being reprimanded just for asking questions. She literally started yelling at me. I could see the hate in her eyes, and it took everything in me not to react disrespectfully back to her. Out of pure exhaustion, I gave up and only exchanged half the value of my item. This was hands-down the worst shopping experience I've ever had. If you're looking for similar items but prefer a classy environment where the staff actually welcomes you, I highly recommend going to Charles Mayer & Company instead.
