DIRTY, DIRTY DIRTY! , pizza was ugly, cold, the wings were cold, mediocre salad. 2 guys making pizza were swearing at the women F-this, F-that and complaining about something, most of it seemed to be directed toward the women working there. On a monday, I placed a pizza, salad, wings order and showed up 40 minutes later when they expected it to be ready. As I was walking in I noticed outside on the door a sign that said fully staffed! Nice, I am going to get good service! Paid for my food and then waited as the other 6 people behind paid and recieved their food. 15-20 minutes later a young woman came back to the carry out area, that charged my CC, and asked me if she could help me. I said I'm waiting for me food. She said my food was not done. She took a random pizza and bag and placed it on the counter next to the warmer. Another 20 mins go by, she brought out out a bag placed it with the other containers sitting on the counter next to the warmer and brought it to me. She said she was waiting for the salad. So my pizza and wings had been sitting on the counter for about 20mins, getting cold. Nobody was handling food with gloves, the floors were dirty with trash and food. Awful experience. This place was a shit show when I was there 10 years ago and still is. They already charged my CC so I just took my food and left. I'm glad I didn't get sick from eating the cold food that sat on the counter growing bacteria. read more

Been eating there since the 1960's before they built the recent one. Our date night was Friday night at the Alibi for their amazing fish & chips dinner. Saturday nights We'd occasionally order their delicious pizza. The food, service and ambiance are still a 5 star to my husband and I. read more

The service is good, our server gave us complimentary breadsticks but they tasted like cardboard. The pizza was sloppy but tasty, again the crust was similar to the breadsticks, sorta like cardboard texture. Overall they do have a good menu with a variety of entrees, appetizers and desserts so it's not a place you would go to solely for their pizza. They also have a private room to host parties I believe their was a reception of some kind going in and it seemed like they were enjoying their time. My husband had the corned beef sandwich. He thought it was very good. He said it wasn't as fatty as most restaurants. Not sure if he liked the beer; but, he had two - so he must have liked it. My chicken sandwich was mediocre. Wasn't the worst; but, wasn't the best. The chicken was pretty thin. Should have been seasoned. Kind of bland. A little dry. Only had one small thin slice of tomato. I ordered the sandwich with extra lettuce which the waitress brought on a separate plate. The picture shows it with the extra lettuce. Otherwise it would just have one piece of lettuce on it. The bun was good. The fries (regular and seasoned) are both very good. Well cooked. Our waitress was very nice. A very good server. Very pleasant. Nice pleasant voice. Pizza is ok. Seems more popular than the hype. Recently, we had to wait over 30 minutes outside just to pick up our pizza that was already 30 minutes late. Total over 1 hour from ordering. I have always believed that a sign of a good restaurant was a consistently crowded entrance with large groups of people waiting to be seated. Since we were only a small party I thought it was just my lot in life to wait as well. After 25mn we were seated. To my shock as we walked to our table half the restaurant was empty. I was shocked until I realized that in our section we only had 2 waitresses. Individually the brought drinks, appetizers, entrees and refills for their tables. We had to wait to be served while the waitress took drink orders for the table with 11 people in our section. It was so noisy my husband moved next to me so he could hear me. As for the food - the salad was good Went back for pizza and was disappointed. Went to pick it up from the serving dish and it collapsed onto my plate. Carry out order was completely wrong. Ordered two pizzas one w/ no meat since my daughter is a vegetarian. Both pizza's had pepperoni and did not order pepperoni on either of my pizzas. Reliably good. Pizza to drive 30 miles for. One odd thing for the Alibi, they won't seat you until your entire party is onsite. On a weekend night, that can be problematic, with people driving across the metro area to meet for dinner. In the waiting area, there must have been 30+ people waiting for the rest of their party to arrive. We have been to the Alibi multiple times over the years. Hands down, the pizza is a choice that you can't go wrong with. Our group started with the large Caesar salad, breadsticks. Went to Alibi for a family Christmas dinner on a Saturday. We had a large group of 20+ and Alibi took great care of us. The restaurant is beautiful inside and features a huge stone fireplace in the main dining area. I went with many recommendations and got a small pizza with pepperoni, banana peppers, and mushrooms. It was delicious! there's a reason so many people recommend the pizza. The small is easily enough for 2 people to share. Expect to spend $10-$15 on a small depending on the toppings you get. The other food we tried was good, not great. My wife got the fish and chips and really enjoyed it. We also tried the french onion soup and were happy. Our table got a few of the large family style salads and I'd recommend going with either the Greek salad or the Antipasto salad. Friendly, efficient service, even with a huge group on a busy day. Would go back here anytime, especially if I had a large group. read more

Alibi has great food, however their order accuracy and guest relations is horrible. I normally order weekly for my parents and a simple request to not include any sauce in the container so hot sauce does not spill all over the order has been hit or missed. The worst part of is the response from the Owner. She did not apologize for the repeated errors and advise she was short staff and when she goes to Big Boy, and they put tomatoes on her burgers she does not complain, just take it off. In other words.... If they can't get the order correct, I should waste my money because I did not order wings with hot sauce, take it or leave it. The owner continued to share how she can't get employees and no one wants to work, try training and teaching customer service skills to your employees? That would go a long way. I also shared with the owner, the lack of hygiene and hand washing some of her employees exhibit. I witnessed an employee sweeping the floor, scratching his head and personal parts, then preceded to handle pizzas with out washing his hands. I brought to attention of the manager on duty and she quickly addressed the situation, but when I shared my experience with the Owner, zero response or follow-up. I try to support small businesses, but after spending over $2,000 in the the last year with Alibi in Troy only to be told excuses and not willing to correct their error is very disappointing. Alibi is a great family style restaurant. They have decent food, but recently over the last few years every time I go their service isn't the best. And I tend to always not feel great after eating the food and I can't seem to figure out what it is! Back in 2020 I got horrible food poisoning from alibi from eating their salads and pizza. Came back earlier this month , and a few other times this year( to see if things would change- which they did not), and did not feel good again afterwards each time. I will not be returning due to my experiences I've had here! read more

This place is average with there food and service. The only thing that stood out to me was the French onion soup and the pizza. The appetizer I ordered was the artichoke dip and it wasn't all that, but adding the dip on top of the pizza made it a whole lot better. The steak was good but it lacked flavor, and A1 sauce helped make it more flavorful. The only thing that made me mad was that every entree we asked the waiter about he said it was his favorite. So in conclusion don't come here unless you want pizza- because everything else lacked in quality; although there quantity(portions sizes were huge). read more

I got a carry out order of their Famous Fish and Chips, last night. What a disappointment...the batter was an inch and a half thick, burned and very greasy and the fries were a saggy clomp. The actual fish was about half an inch thick and probably defrosted in the microwave, which made it crumble if you tried to cut it. Instead of bread sticks they gave me three flat sticks of pizza dough, over cooked and dredged in grease. Besides pizza and salad, I'll never order anything else from this place. read more

What a great spot for some good pizza! My wife and I met some friends there the other night, after I had mentioned seeing the pizza on social network. We came on a Saturday evening at 6 pm, and were told only a 15 minute wait. Not bad given how many people were there! We were seated and promptly served by our wonderful waitress. The first thing I noted when sitting down was how loud this place was. Granted, it is a family establishment with lots of kids, at times I could barely hear the conversation going on at our table. We started off with a small greek salad, which I'm fairly certain could feed at least 3 people easily. It was huge, and delicious. I really enjoyed all of the flavors and the dressing was fantastic. For pizza, we went with our classic, pepperoni and green peppers. The flavor was very, very good, and they have the small cut pepperonis that curl when cooked. I was in heaven! The salad was so large that we only ate half of our pizza and brought the rest home. Leftover, cold Alibi is 5 stars all the way. Their crust is just a little sweet, and I could not get enough! used the alibi website to view the online menu for dinner this evening. the menu indicated a corned beef sandwich was $7.75. When I got there to pick it up I was told it was over $12. I informed the individual behind the counter that the price on their website showed $7.75, I was told people have been complaining about the prices on the online menu for months being incorrec, but there seems to be no urgency to update their online menu. I would say it's a typical bait and switch which I would expect from some hole in the wall establishment, not a business that has operated for decades in Troy. maybe you'll notice the fine print on the menu regarding prices may vary. by the way, I've had better $8.00 corned beef sandwiches locally. if you like corned beef sandwiches, check out Luca's in Auburn Hills. Wow. After nearly two decades of dining at The Alibi, I cannot believe I am leaving such a terrible rating. I just had the worst experience I have had at any restaurant in awhile. I placed a carry-out order: large greek salad ($11.25) and an order of bread ($3.50). Because the already $11 salad comes with iceberg lettuce and no protein, I decided to substitute romaine and add grilled chicken. Those two substitutions increased the cost of my salad more than $8.00... I was floored, but didn't have the time to change my plan so elected to proceed with the order, knowing the outrageous upcharge. I picked up my order and the bread was feeling quite light. I questioned the full order of bread and was told told with just LOADS of attitude that, "It is eight pieces!" I looked in the bag to find the crispy, burnt, flat, small ends of the bread. I pointed out that I was already paying more than $23 for a salad and some bread and was blown off with, "It just depends on how they cut it." The take-out girls were more interested in talking to each other than providing customer service, something this dynamic duo is prone to it would seem. The icing on the cake was getting to work to find an anemic, dry, $5+ half chicken breast and spoiled beets on my salad... Just terrible all around: the food, the price, the service. Really great pizza! I've had a lot of great pizza in my life and the pizza at Alibi definitely sits high on the list. The pizza is really cheesy (so good!), but honestly the best part is the incredibly crust! WOW! The crust is soft, pillowy, and incredibly flavorful. We ordered the supreme pizza, which was a bit heavy on the toppings, but still so delicious. I'd probably order a pizza with 1-2 toppings next time to really enjoy it without the overwhelming toppings. Don't think twice about ordering a pizza here. It's totally worth it! read more

It's not a good sign when you get to a place you think you've never been before, then realize, oh yes, you have been there before. It's a worse sign when you remember that last time you were there, a spider fell into your pizza. True story! But I'm all for second chances. Alibi is a cozy family place (think wood, stone fire place) that has a diverse enough menu for all your picky eaters. Word on the street is that Alibi has some pretty great pizza. Personally, I don't think the street knows what it's talking about. This pizza is okay. It's of the sweet variety, which isn't my cup of tea (which I take unsweetened as well). The ingredients are fresh and they use real, curled up pepperoni (delicious). The crust isn't as thin as I like it, and the pizza all around is a little greasy. Overall, it's a better pizza than any fast food chain restaurant. If you're looking for a life changing pizza, keep up the search. I had a silly moment at Alibi when I decided to try the cheese balls. Broccoli, cheese, and bacon deep-fried and dipped in ranch. They were not bad, as most fried things tend to be not bad (unless we're talking arteries), but there was a distracting taste going on with the cheese. I've become consumed by the lunch special which is a medium or large pizza, and salad. I don't recall if it included just one topping, but my coworker and I religiously order pepperoni and sausage on a large. The antipasto salad is simply phenomenal, order it with Greek dressing versus the house dressing! Their pizza crust here is crunchy yet chewy with just the a touch of sweetness. Alibi incorporates sugar into their doug, and it adds a caramelization to the bread while in the brick oven that I have yet to experience anywhere else. Grated parm and red pepper flakes are table side. Some might find the pizza a little greasy due to the Old World Pepperoni. I use it as an opportunity to douse grated parmesan all over it, creating a 'flavor sludge' atop my slice. read more

Was here for my birthday dinner with family. This is an ideal family restaurant. The atmosphere is similar to an up north lodge - very woodsy and inviting. Echoing the sentiments of previous reviewers, the pizza & breadsticks are excellent. Veal parmesan is very good, too. The price is around $10 for a HUGE portion for high quality food. What I really loved was the dessert. Apple pie delight was a big slice of warm delicious homemade apple pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and slathered in caramel sauce. We called the manager at 12:30 to let him know we had 12 people coming at 1:30 he told us okay we'll be ready. After a very long day of tailgating, this was a nice place to relax and recharge. We got a small pizza with pepperoni and pineapple on one half and hamburger and fresh mushrooms (have to request) on the other, and a small Greek salad. We enjoyed this particular variant of pizza which was thinner than "Michigan Square" style but thicker than east coast but it wasn't anything earth shattering. The only thing that really stood out was the sweet note that has already has been called out. The Greek was basic iceberg, and had a decent dressing.
