Clueless hostess was training 2 teens to have the same work ethic / apathy. When led to our table outside on the patio, we asked to move over 1 table. We were told (at a few mins after 5) that ALL tables (restaurant almost empty) were 'reserved'. No one ever sat at the originally requested table, or at a couple more on the patio during our time there. It seemed to be a teenage power tantrum. Childish. Other reviewers were correct - NO adding or subtracting pizza toppings. I pictured a Gordon Ramsey-esque delicate genius with a god complex in the kitchen. We laughed. The meat lovers pizza was good. Crust was excellent. Sauce very nice - not too sweet, which is a big plus. Arancini were very small, may have been previously frozen, but accompanying marinara was good. Use of pre- shredded Parmesan should be avoided, as it has a coating on it that prevents sticking together. This same coating prevents melting, and the result is globs of parm. Our waiter was attentive and delightful. He was a bright spot. We appreciated his enthusiasm. They lose 2 stars for 1) lazy hostess 2) fussy chef read more

We sat outside under a covered patio. Very pleasant nice vibes. Greeted upon arrival and walked through a nice dining area and bar. Quickly served water and menus and we settled in. As we dined it seemed more families arrived. Seems to be a family place. Good service. Ordered a margarita pizza, pasta ragu and Cacio y Pepe. Food was ordinary. Not bad not great. Ragu was supposed to have meat but I did not see any or really taste it, except subtlety. My wife had the pizza and it was ok. Crust good but sauce was bland. Cacioypepe was ok. Could have used more pepper. Not sure the execution was right. Did not taste as we have had it in Rome and Tuscany. Tried coming a few days earlier w/out reservation and given a 2 hour wait so we reserved for this date. It was pleasant experience but quite ordinary food so we gave it 3 stars. read more

First of all our server was awesome! He was so genuine and helpful answering questions about our entrees and desserts. We loved the atmosphere and another waitress offered to take a picture of the two of us at our table. It is one of the best pictures we have of us! We each enjoyed the whitefish chowder (wonderful smoky flavor and amazing garnish) we also ordered the arugula and roasted beet salad. I should have taken a picture of both of them because they were beautifully presented. Our menu choices were so good I would order them both again. We were actually planning on having dinner at Red Crown down the street. When we arrived at Red Crown there was a sign on the door saying they were closed until Spring, according to their website it means until sometime in May. I reported this to Yelp, we planned on going there because their Yelp page said they were open. So we walked down the street and found The Bricks Pizzeria. I would come back to Bricks again instead of Red Crown. When our waiter asked if we were interested in dessert we asked for his recommendation. We ordered the tiramisu and key lime pie. We weren't interested in ordering pizza and we were so pleased with the other options. They have wonderful options! read more

We love this place! From dinner with the husband and kids, to date night, to girls night out, Bricks never disappoints! The food and service are consistently excellent. The inside is cozy and comfortable, and the outdoor patio is spacious and a great spot to enjoy a summer night and watch the happenings on Kercheval. We usually get a large pizza, salad, and pasta dish for our family of 4 to share and end up with leftovers. Our go to order is the Fox Hollow Farms pizza, gemelli pasta, and either the antipasto or Caesar salad. The pizza is the perfect combination of flavors with the bacon, egg, and red onion, and the gemelli pasta tastes so decadent with the truffle oil with the peppers and sausage giving it just the right amount of extra kick without being overly spicy. We've tried many of the appetizers too, with our favorites being the meatballs and arancia, and the burrata special keeps things interesting by adding different fun toppings to the mix. It can get very busy at peak times so recommend making a reservation to ensure you get a spot. But if you need to wait, there's even an arcade in the back to keep the kids (and adults) occupied! read more

Stopped in for a farewell dinner has the kiddo heads back to school. The service was top-notch, quick. I had a delicious riff on the last word cocktail. I think it was called the first word delicious. We each got pasta tonight and everyone loved their pasta. As far as accessibility, I did not check out the bathroom however, entrance is zero steps and there are multiple types of seating bar, high tops, low seating and a beautiful patio. If you haven't been or if it's been a while, I highly recommend you go back and check out bricks. read more

The food itself is pretty good, they skimp you on the meat but the prices aren't too high so makes sense. The pizza is always delish and pasta is decent. The seating is great. The service is kinda awful though. We made a reservation and had to wait nearly 20 minutes to be seated past our reservation time just for them to grab two drinks off of a table and wipe it down (barely) and put glasses on the table. The hostess had no personality and seemed like she had no clue what she was doing and didn't care. Our server was sweet, but not the brightest and took forever when it was maybe at 60% volume and we asked for boxes and she nicely acknowledged us, but then came back almost 10 minutes later asking if we wanted boxes and didn't even bring the check. Safe to say I prefer the takeout read more

Overall, our dining experience was great. The cocktails were amazing. Service was great. We ordered the wedge salad and it was delicious. It's definitely shareable. We ordered way too much pizza. You either get a small personal sized or a large pizza that serves at least 3-4 people. In hindsight, I wish we would have just all ordered personal sizes because we came home with almost entire large pizza. My young daughter ordered the cheese pizza. While I thought it was delicious, she did not. The cheese blend used was a tad too funky for her taste. Two of our large pizzas had more char on them for our liking but they still were good. I bet you could ask them for light or char and they would be happy to accommodate. Service was good despite the restaurant being full. read more

Went here for dinner on a random Friday. Found out in an interesting way that you can have dogs with your table on the patio. I was officially the girl with the dog for reservations- even though I have another name entirely. (And no, it wasn't my dog.) Family friendly, parking available across the street. This area is busy. It was nice to be outside and see folks come and go. The pizzas are unique and tasty- sadly not vegan- and lactaid worthy! Cocktails abound and very well made. Family friendly for those with families. Arcade in the rear, for young and old alike. read more

We enjoy a trip to bricks from time to time. The process to make a reservation is easy, although they do require a credit credit in order to make a reservation. The card on file will be charged $15 per guest if you fail to show up or do not cancel in time. I like the atmosphere here. It will get busy, but you'll still be able to hear what others at your table are saying. The patio area is large and when the wall doors are up you can still enjoy it even if you're inside of the building. The meatball appetizer was fine, nothing about it stood out, but was good enough to enjoy. It's a good starter to split. I enjoy the thinner style pizza they serve here. I developed a like for hot honey with their own homemade version, which has been a good compliment to the pizza. Pizza always comes out hot and cooked just right. read more

Appetizers are always delicious. Pizza is great, great atmosphere. Staff is always on point. You need to try it

This place was a complete disappointment. The food was just ok. The service was fine. Ambiance meh. It was the attitude and the treatment from the staff and manager, that was awful. They handled a situation we found ourselves a part of unintentionally with this defensive position. It's was really weird. We walked into the restaurant feeling happy and joyous and left completely pissed off. Terrible experience. read more

Great pizza. Nice fresh salad. Great key lime pie. Our server was pleasant, helpful, beautiful. I shall return. Very interesting pizza choices. This is the type of place with unique menu items. Very healthy eating. Good wine selections. Clean upscale bathrooms. I really liked it a lot. You're going to need reservations especially in the summer or on weekends. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! There is without any doubt that we will NEVER go back. It's one thing to have a server handle a customer service issue poorly, but when a manager (or maybe it was the owner) compound matters you know it's a systemic issue. At the end of our meal this manager even tried to give us the wrong bill, which I truly feel was intentional, thinking we would just pay it. Afterwards I pulled this manager aside and politely said you really could have handled matters far differently. A simple, "Hey, this is a policy of ours and I apologize if your experience was affected in any negative way." What I received instead was MORE confrontation, more of a defensive attitude plus how many patrons came through his door and his Best of the Best award." I'm not easily offended but this experience and their attitude would NEVER want to step foot in this establishment again. There are SO many other options and better food than this place that are out there. Bad service and even worse customer service is just bad business. Someone should educate this owner and the staff how important it is to treat customers. The dining experience is equal if not more important than the quality of food. read more

Outstanding as always. Best pizza in the GP area and among the absolute best in Metro Detroit. Perfect crust with a slight char...terrific sauce and fresh mozzarella...so good! House salad is terrific as well. read more

We went to Bricks on an impromptu visit. (Highly recommended a reservation) we had to wait almost an hour which is why I say make a reservation. That being said Shannon work diligently to find us a seat. He was amazing. Our server William was also very good. We got the arancini and it was amazing!! My wife's pasta was fresh and absolutely delicious! My daughter and I shared the Fungi and Swine. I would eat it again and again and again! Highly recommend! The ambiance was welcoming and warming. The staff was professional from the door to the kitchen. Well worth the wait and is a gem of Grosse Pointe! read more

Dropped in at about 4:30 on a Saturday . Tons of open tables. Felt scolded because the host said we didn't make a reservation so said he had to sit at the bar. Didn't feel welcomed by our server either. Ordered two pizzas that were just ok. read more

Unfortunately I have gotten food poisoning from this restaurant twice. The first time I thought it was just me, and that I was just sick but the second time I was stuck in bed for an entire day after about 12 hours of vomiting. I've been wanting to try Bricks Pizzeria for quite some time. We were hopping around and decided to stop in for a quick drink and order a pie. I was so impressed by all of the options for pizza. The only thing you need to keep in mind is that they do not let you have any substitutions on the pizza. We decided on the simple, yet delicious, Margherita pizza. It was cooked perfectly, thin and crisp just the way I like it. I would most certainly recommend this spot for a great pizza pie! read more

Between the service and pizza I was disappointed. I ordered a pizza online and arrived several minutes before the pizza said it would be ready. The server wasn't friendly and I stood awkwardly trying to figure out if my pizza was ready or not. My pizza was not hot or even warm when I got home. Probably the last time I order from here for awhile. read more

Arrived 5pm on a Friday night. Hostess told me that because we did not have a reservation we would be seated at the worst table next to the noisy arcade and would have to leave in an hour. Pretty damn insulting for a first impression, but we were hungry. Food and service were good.-pizza is good but not $25 good. This is a fancy bougie pizza place (kind of an oxymoron if you ask me). Nothing remarkable on the menu. Interior is very nice. My thought- pretentious & overrated. read more

I've been wanting to try this place as I follow them on Instagram. I booked a table on Resy. We were greeted by a friendly hostess who sat us at a high top. We ordered drinks and mussels which were a special today. The mussels were served in a delicious tomato sauce and came with 2 hunks of freshly baked bread. The bread was perfect for soaking up the sauce! We then ordered the roasted mushroom pizza and pasta with pesto. The pizza was perfectly baked in their wood fired oven. The crust was thin and crispy. I only had a bite of the pasta because I was getting rather full but it too was delicious and tasted fresh. They also do carry out. I can't wait to go back. The Brick's will be on my regular rotation. read more

Love this pizzeria! The topping options and combinations are amazing which makes for an awesome pizza.

Excellent service and atmosphere. We really enjoyed the patio seating. This restaurant is family friendly even though they don't have child menus, it's very easy to find something on the menu for the kiddos to eat. Our server was quite attentive and very patient with us when we needed more time to decide what we wanted. The pizza had great flavor and the pasta was well cooked. The a fox Hollow was a little salty given all of the pork, but only relevant if you have dietary restrictions for salt intake. read more

The Bricks is an excellent Italian restaurant in GPP. The food is so good--whether it's a fire/stone oven pizza, any of their apps to salads, or any of the pasta dishes. They make everything from scratch including their pasta and I love going here for everything from takeout to a date night with my husband or son. The game room in the back is fun for kids while parents chat and the staff are kind and accommodating, even when it's hopping. read more

Bricks has potential to be great but the food is getting worse and worse each time I go. The salad and apps are usually okay but the pizza has been SO soggy the last three times I've gone! I even asked for it well done last time and it was still a floppy mess. The staff also was cleaning up 45 minutes before close and made our party feel rushed. Will admit their hot honey is incredible though! read more

Just ok. Really cool ambience, fair drinks, ok pizza. Nothing special on the pizza, especially considering the $$s are fairly steep. Mama Rosa's, Saucy's & Fresh Farms all have MUCH better pizza in my opinion. Service was spotty. It didn't help that we were seated near the back of the restaurant where there was a little girl birthday party occurring in the back room. Still, was hoping for more after all the hype. Might give them another shot, as we like to support local businesses. Maybe they'll improve after they find a groove. read more

The Bricks just opened this week, and my friends and I decided to try it last night for a group night out. We were not disappointed. The location is great, among other restaurants and shops in Grosse Pointe Park, and is along the trolley route so you can easily get there even if you don't want to park there (or drive in general). The restaurant is bigger than it initially looks, as it is deep. There is an outdoor patio, bar which is open to the kitchen, as well as an arcade area. The menu is fairly extensive, with many new and inventive pizza options. There's also a cocktail and beer/wine menu, and a dessert menu. The restaurant also has their own farm and prides itself in sourcing the ingredients from within 100 miles to be as local as possible. When we arrived we were seated much earlier than the anticipated wait time, which was nice. We all ordered different drinks. I ordered the 'A Day in the Park' cocktail which was super refreshing because of the cucumber in it; I would definitely order it again. They also bring casks of water to the table for you. For appetizers we ordered the arancini bites and the bread and oil platter. The arancini were hot, crispy on the outside and cheesy on the inside (in short, delicious). I would definitely order it again. I didn't try the bread platter, but my friends said they enjoyed it. For dinner we ended up ordering 4 different pizzas for the group. Myself and one of my friends split the 16" Eggplant Parmesan pizza. It was fantastic. The crust was perfect, there was a great ratio of ingredients and the caramelized onions and basil made it especially tasty. Two other friends split the 16" Meat Lovers, one friend got the 10" Fox Hollow Farm Egg with Italian Bacon and one friend got the 10" Pomodoro. I did not try any of the other pizzas but everyone commented on loving theirs. As far as the service, they were very attentive, all the food came out in a very timely manner and they kept our water cask filled all evening which was great. They also didn't rush us when some of my friends decided to play games in the arcade after eating. We're glad to have had the Bricks open in our neighborhood and will definitely return. read more

I'm sad to see this going down. First, the service is great however the pizza was exceptionally greasy and underwhelming given the price. It was my son's favorite however we will be going to Supinos in the future. They've reduced hours to 5-9 5 days a week which implies that I'm not the only one that is concerned with their quality. Perhaps I'm reading too much into it but 20 hours a week seems bad to me. read more

I got take out. Pizza was good. I'll have to experience dining a different day. I ordered a cheese pizza.

Long overdue shoutout to this amazing place. Accommodating& fun! Favorite spot at the bar! Arcade too!

Updating my review. Loved it when it first opened however the last time the pizza was overwhelmingly greasy. Either I went on an off day or the food has declined. Service was solid however there were a few tables that appeared to think a game area means free babysitter and the kids back there made it unbearable for my table. I'll probably give them another try as I hope this was just an off day but the amount of grease on the pizza was simply overwhelming read more

Odd menu. A bit pricey. Thin crust pizza with no changes allowed. Will only return if forced to.
