We love this place! From dinner with the husband and kids, to date night, to girls night out, Bricks never disappoints! The food and service are consistently excellent. The inside is cozy and comfortable, and the outdoor patio is spacious and a great spot to enjoy a summer night and watch the happenings on Kercheval. We usually get a large pizza, salad, and pasta dish for our family of 4 to share and end up with leftovers. Our go to order is the Fox Hollow Farms pizza, gemelli pasta, and either the antipasto or Caesar salad. The pizza is the perfect combination of flavors with the bacon, egg, and red onion, and the gemelli pasta tastes so decadent with the truffle oil with the peppers and sausage giving it just the right amount of extra kick without being overly spicy. We've tried many of the appetizers too, with our favorites being the meatballs and arancia, and the burrata special keeps things interesting by adding different fun toppings to the mix. It can get very busy at peak times so recommend making a reservation to ensure you get a spot. But if you need to wait, there's even an arcade in the back to keep the kids (and adults) occupied! read more

Clueless hostess was training 2 teens to have the same work ethic / apathy. When led to our table outside on the patio, we asked to move over 1 table. We were told (at a few mins after 5) that ALL tables (restaurant almost empty) were 'reserved'. No one ever sat at the originally requested table, or at a couple more on the patio during our time there. It seemed to be a teenage power tantrum. Childish. Other reviewers were correct - NO adding or subtracting pizza toppings. I pictured a Gordon Ramsey-esque delicate genius with a god complex in the kitchen. We laughed. The meat lovers pizza was good. Crust was excellent. Sauce very nice - not too sweet, which is a big plus. Arancini were very small, may have been previously frozen, but accompanying marinara was good. Use of pre- shredded Parmesan should be avoided, as it has a coating on it that prevents sticking together. This same coating prevents melting, and the result is globs of parm. The food itself is pretty good, they skimp you on the meat but the prices aren't too high so makes sense. The pizza is always delish and pasta is decent. The seating is great. The service is kinda awful though. We made a reservation and had to wait nearly 20 minutes to be seated past our reservation time just for them to grab two drinks off of a table and wipe it down (barely) and put glasses on the table. The hostess had no personality and seemed like she had no clue what she was doing and didn't care. Our server was sweet, but not the brightest and took forever when it was maybe at 60% volume and we asked for boxes and she nicely acknowledged us, but then came back almost 10 minutes later asking if we wanted boxes and didn't even bring the check. First of all our server was awesome! He was so genuine and helpful answering questions about our entrees and desserts. We loved the atmosphere and another waitress offered to take a picture of the two of us at our table. It is one of the best pictures we have of us! We each enjoyed the whitefish chowder (wonderful smoky flavor and amazing garnish) we also ordered the arugula and roasted beet salad. We were actually planning on having dinner at Red Crown down the street. I think it was called the first word delicious. We each got pasta tonight and everyone loved their pasta. You either get a small personal sized or a large pizza that serves at least 3-4 people. In hindsight, I wish we would have just all ordered personal sizes because we came home with almost entire large pizza. My young daughter ordered the cheese pizza. While I thought it was delicious, she did not. The cheese blend used was a tad too funky for her taste. Two of our large pizzas had more char on them for our liking but they still were good. Went here for dinner on a random Friday. Found out in an interesting way that you can have dogs with your table on the patio. I was officially the girl with the dog for reservations- even though I have another name entirely. (And no, it wasn't my dog.) Family friendly, parking available across the street. This area is busy. We enjoy a trip to bricks from time to time. The process to make a reservation is easy, although they do require a credit credit in order to make a reservation. The card on file will be charged $15 per guest if you fail to show up or do not cancel in time. I like the atmosphere here. It will get busy, but you'll still be able to hear what others at your table are saying. The patio area is large and when the wall doors are up you can still enjoy it even if you're inside of the building. The meatball appetizer was fine, nothing about it stood out, but was good enough to enjoy. It's a good starter to split. I enjoy the thinner style pizza they serve here. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! There is without any doubt that we will NEVER go back. It's one thing to have a server handle a customer service issue poorly, but when a manager (or maybe it was the owner) compound matters you know it's a systemic issue. At the end of our meal this manager even tried to give us the wrong bill, which I truly feel was intentional, thinking we would just pay it. Afterwards I pulled this manager aside and politely said you really could have handled matters far differently. A simple, "Hey, this is a policy of ours and I apologize if your experience was affected in any negative way." What I received instead was MORE confrontation, more of a defensive attitude plus how many patrons came through his door and his Best of the Best award." I'm not easily offended but this experience and their attitude would NEVER want to step foot in this establishment again. There are SO many other options and better food than this place that are out there. Bad service and even worse customer service is just bad business. We went to Bricks on an impromptu visit. (Highly recommended a reservation) we had to wait almost an hour which is why I say make a reservation. That being said Shannon work diligently to find us a seat. He was amazing. Our server William was also very good. We got the arancini and it was amazing!! My wife's pasta was fresh and absolutely delicious! My daughter and I shared the Fungi and Swine. I would eat it again and again and again! Highly recommend! The ambiance was welcoming and warming. I've been wanting to try Bricks Pizzeria for quite some time. We were hopping around and decided to stop in for a quick drink and order a pie. I was so impressed by all of the options for pizza. The only thing you need to keep in mind is that they do not let you have any substitutions on the pizza. We decided on the simple, yet delicious, Margherita pizza. I've been wanting to try this place as I follow them on Instagram. I booked a table on Resy. We were greeted by a friendly hostess who sat us at a high top. We ordered drinks and mussels which were a special today. The mussels were served in a delicious tomato sauce and came with 2 hunks of freshly baked bread. The bread was perfect for soaking up the sauce! We then ordered the roasted mushroom pizza and pasta with pesto. The pizza was perfectly baked in their wood fired oven. The crust was thin and crispy. I only had a bite of the pasta because I was getting rather full but it too was delicious and tasted fresh. They also do carry out. I can't wait to go back. Excellent service and atmosphere. We really enjoyed the patio seating. This restaurant is family friendly even though they don't have child menus, it's very easy to find something on the menu for the kiddos to eat. Our server was quite attentive and very patient with us when we needed more time to decide what we wanted. The pizza had great flavor and the pasta was well cooked. The Bricks is an excellent Italian restaurant in GPP. The food is so good--whether it's a fire/stone oven pizza, any of their apps to salads, or any of the pasta dishes. They make everything from scratch including their pasta and I love going here for everything from takeout to a date night with my husband or son. The Bricks just opened this week, and my friends and I decided to try it last night for a group night out. We were not disappointed. The location is great, among other restaurants and shops in Grosse Pointe Park, and is along the trolley route so you can easily get there even if you don't want to park there (or drive in general). The restaurant is bigger than it initially looks, as it is deep. There is an outdoor patio, bar which is open to the kitchen, as well as an arcade area. The menu is fairly extensive, with many new and inventive pizza options. There's also a cocktail and beer/wine menu, and a dessert menu. The restaurant also has their own farm and prides itself in sourcing the ingredients from within 100 miles to be as local as possible. When we arrived we were seated much earlier than the anticipated wait time, which was nice. We all ordered different drinks. I ordered the 'A Day in the Park' cocktail which was super refreshing because of the cucumber in it; I would definitely order it again. They also bring casks of water to the table for you. For appetizers we ordered the arancini bites and the bread and oil platter. The arancini were hot, crispy on the outside and cheesy on the inside (in short, delicious). I would definitely order it again. I didn't try the bread platter, but my friends said they enjoyed it. For dinner we ended up ordering 4 different pizzas for the group. Myself and one of my friends split the 16" Eggplant Parmesan pizza. It was fantastic. The crust was perfect, there was a great ratio of ingredients and the caramelized onions and basil made it especially tasty. Two other friends split the 16" Meat Lovers, one friend got the 10" Fox Hollow Farm Egg with Italian Bacon and one friend got the 10" Pomodoro. I did not try any of the other pizzas but everyone commented on loving theirs. As far as the service, they were very attentive, all the food came out in a very timely manner and they kept our water cask filled all evening which was great. They also didn't rush us when some of my friends decided to play games in the arcade after eating. We're glad to have had the Bricks open in our neighborhood and will definitely return. read more

Updating my review. Loved it when it first opened however the last time the pizza was overwhelmingly greasy. Either I went on an off day or the food has declined. Service was solid however there were a few tables that appeared to think a game area means free babysitter and the kids back there made it unbearable for my table. I'll probably give them another try as I hope this was just an off day but the amount of grease on the pizza was simply overwhelming read more

I appreciate that we are always able to get in but hate that we have more than once been seated at a high top with two children under the age of 5 - with multiple empty low tops (which have often remained empty the duration of our visit).
