After coming here a few times and trying a few different menu items, it's getting better. The pizza is great along with breadsticks. The anti pasta salad is very good and hearty. Also tried the ahi tuna which I've hesitated with in the past.....but to my surprise it was very good. On par with Crews Inn. Yum. As for ambience it's a little weird as the bar splits the restaurant in two parts. You definitely get the feel that this is a local hangout. One of the downers is the lack of craft beer selections, but they do have 3-5 decent ones on tap/can. If you're I. We have work lunch's here and the pizzas are delicious! The 5 alarm pie is always a winner and the $6 lunches can't be beat. We call ahead with our orders & Laura our waitress always has us ready when we walk in with our food usually showing up about 5 minutes later. The Boatyard Grill is always a favorite for our crew! Ok just recently came back for lunch the price has changed so now they have $7 dollar lunches, still worth it for sandwich, fries & drink! I've lived just a few minutes from this place for 18 years and for some reason had never gone there till recently. It says on the menu that they started making pizza there in 1968. Who knew?! I was pleasantly surprised. It's a cute, casual place with nautical decor. Family friendly with a good menu. We went there for pizza, and I thought it was really good pizza! The crust was light and crispy, the toppings were generous. I loved the antipasto salad. The dressing and just everything about it was excellent. I like to have salad with my pizza. Somehow having vegetables with all those carbs makes me feel lighter and less "gross". I would gladly go back here again and try some of the other menu items. Really good high quality food at a reasonable price. Wednesday they have a pizza special and their pizza is second to none. My sister and brother in law have a boat at a nearby marina, so we come here often in the summer after a day on the boat. The food is good, and drinks are cheap. However, we are in a pandemic now, and today our server had her mask down around her chin, and so did the bar tender. People were sitting at the bar and all of the seats were occupied. My husband picks up the order and they don't give us 2 salads and the soup .. who wants to go back and come home to cold food ? The East-side marina crowd abounds here. The restaurant has two separate seating areas cut in half by a bar in a bizarre lay-out. It's like two places in one. The boat crowd doesn't care. They just want booze. People get all excited over the round pizza here but it isn't that great. It's not terrible mind you, but definately overrated. The best part is the old-fashioned pepperoni's that curl up into little oil-cups when cooked. Other than that, for a large circumference pizza it's very light in weight and light on the cheese and sauce. The dough is cheap and lacks structure. If more cheese and sauce were added, this thing would collapse. It's like an Anti-New York Style pizza. But hey, what do I know? Drunk boaters will eat anything. read more

They had many bar type options for food. The service was mediocre. I was there on the afternoon with my sister and her two kids.

I have been here a couple times now for dinner and drinks. I wouldn't suggest bringing small children here for dinner as it can become loud. The service is what you would expect, not too slow, but not fast by any means. If you are in a hurry and want to grab a quick bite, this is not the place to go as it can get very busy. Now for the reason why I come here! I have tried their layered nachos with chicken, which are huge and can feed a family of 3 or 4. But, the main reason I come here is for their pizza. That says a lot for me as I typically do not care for it. However, they are consistent and know how to make the crust crispy and delicious! I have had the "Boatyard" "Classic" and "Hawaiian" pizzas and tried the "Wally." Both my kids love them as well as the chicken tenders. This past Friday I brought my boyfriend here for dinner since I have raved about the pizza and I know he has a soft spot for a good dish. Went there this past Saturday for appetizers , we Winter store our boat next-door so it's very convenient, food was very very good , our server was overwhelmed and very very scattered but OK service . Went last night for a gluten free pizza. I have had a recommendation that theirs is very good. The recommendation said the pizzas were made in house (not frozen), and you also have to order the antipasto salad. So, I did. Along with their $3 special Margarita, of course. Hubby spilt the salad with me. He also tried their other special, the $1 sliders. 2 beef burgers and 2pulled pork. He said both were very good, but lots of bread. Well, the salad was very, very good! Very well presented as well. Our server was very good, Amanda, I believe. Her beer recommendation was spot on as well. Hubby was happy, but even happier when he saw it was only $2.50. She was even kind enough to check the parmesan shaker cheese for gluten. Well, the pizza was darn good! Thin, crispy crust that even my hubby days he would eat. If you like thin crust, (gluten free or not), I would recommend this pizza. You can choose up to 3 toppings of your choice, and as always, the gluten free pizzas are more expensive than the regular ones. They are also not covered under the restaurant's Wednesday pizza special promotions. But, if you can't have gluten, but still want pizza, I recommend going here! Honestly, it's is better than the gluten free pizza I had previously by in Troy (see review for Renee's pizza). I tend to prefer the thin, crispy crust. read more

I am entirely obsessed with their french fries, they are hands down some of the best I have ever had... they pair really well with the Madison Burger. Wow looks my last dinner here! They stopped carrying Sam Adams Boston. My back up Sierra Nevada, nope! Bummer. Looks like I have to start stopping at the Pump or Sugarbush where they carry Boston Lager. So??? Does this mean Browns won't carry Boston Lager this summer? My biggest complaint here is the cleanliness or lack there of. Cob webs all over, dust bunnies. It's just not clean. It's a little hole in the wall gem and the locals keep this place busy all times of the day. The food is good. My service has always been ok. First mistake was listening to the culinary experts that live in the area and frequent the local establishments and think the food is uhhhmaaazing. This was another disappointing experience. I've heard nothing but rave reviews about the pizza so I gave it a shot. Let me preface this by saying I've been in the hospitality industry for thirty years, many of those as a Chef. This Pizza was ridiculously bad. The crust was flavorless and the outer edge had the consistency of a pretzel, no yeast?. The toppings were super fine diced and the meat was basically ground with the exception of a few curled up half burnt pepperoni. I'd like to see my toppings and not have them be the texture of a specialized diet. I can drive a couple miles up the street and get a better pie cheaper at Dominos or Little Caesar's. read more

My family and I have been here multiple times as it is less that 2 miles from my house. Out of 8 times we've been there, I've never had good service. The wait staff have completely forgotten my dinner but served the others at my table. I had to remind her, then she only brought part of my order. Another time we had reservations for Sunday brunch for a large group. It took just shy of 2 hours for half the group to get served. I had wait staff that were rude.
