Went in on a Sunday early evening for dinner, with our son who lives in the area. Have to say, it was quite solid. Comfortable interior; didn't seem to have many beers on tap, mostly bottled. A great surprise was the steaming hot breadsticks---soft, garlic, parm, butter---whoa!!!! Don't skip them --eat those carbs, yum. So good. The three of us really enjoyed our dishes, I had a special, the walleye with mac'n cheese & green beans. It was very delicious, & some went home. Husband had the Ahi Tuna with fries & the green beans. Our son had a burger with onion rings, which he said was good. Our food was all so hot when served, it was great! So delicious & cozy. Staff could be friendlier. Our waitress was bare minimum friendly? but she was there when we needed her. Maybe she was tired & it was the end of her shift, I don't know, but it's nice to be made to feel welcome. Lots of menu options, nice side choices. We'll go back when in the area. read more

As the name would suggest, the place is themed around an old engine house. Lots of brick and firehouse items, and many large screen tvs. The wait staff were on top of their game and very attentive. My husband ordered the lunch special of half a sandwich and cup of soup, and I had the Ruben pizza on gluten free crust. We both enjoyed our food. Prices are responsible. This restaurant was within walking distance of the museum and we wanted lunch so off we went. We came in through what we thought was the front door but the hostess station was actually at the other end of the restaurant. We seated ourselves and eventually a server came to our table. The menu has a nice selection of items, and the prices are pretty on point. You can get sandwiches, pizza, salads, and a few other items here as well. We each ordered our own pizza but my friends sister wanted a sandwich so that's what she got. We all enjoyed the environment as it wasn't terribly loud and had plenty of seating. The bar area was busy and they had TV's on with some random sports games on. Service was a bit slow but I think it was because they seemed busy for a Saturday afternoon. Fair enough. My colleagues and I ended up here seeking wholesome food with an atmosphere that allowed us to get loud and enjoy each others company over a meal. My sister told me about this lovely restaurant close to our home. My husband and I decided to check it out. When we walked in, it was super busy. If you come in the front door, you need to walk to the back for the hostess to seat you. We got seated by the front door and it was a tiny bit chilly when it opened, but it wasn't too bad. The hostess got us drinks as well. Our waitress was super fast. She kinda rab past the table a lot. I think she had quite a few tables. It wasn't really an issue though because we always had a new drink right away. We both ordered chicken tenders entres, one with mac and one with fries. My husband added clam chowder for an extra few bucks. I also ordered the garlic bread for $2 and trust me it's worth the extra bread. The mac was delicious and it's a big serving. We were in the area and wanted to try something new for lunch. It's a cool building, right next to the train tracks. It's a cozy place inside, we decided to sit at the bar. The bartender was attentive, our drinks rarely got to empty. The food was ok, the potato skins had not much topping and a fair amount more potato than I'm used to. Well I broke my own rule and sat at the bar and once again, completely ignored by the staff. I waited for 15 minutes and the bartender even talked to the regulars sitting two stools away from me and never acknowledged my being there. This place is a winner!!!! Basically a restaurant with a fire house theme. Pictures and memorabilia line the walls. Only thing missing is a picture of Kevin Tighe and Randolph Mantooth. It's very well done. Looks very snappy. Kind of a bar restaurant but very family friendly. We had a great experience and our server was terrific. Basic menu with simple bar food but ohhhh what food. Mainly burgers and pizza. The pizza has got to be the best kept secret in this whole friggin state Also has a back area that has garage doors that open up on a warm day. Food was really good. One complaint is my daughter turned her head and she grabbed her French onion soup when she wasn't done with it. She was already gone with it when she realized it happened. It was really bad etiquette to take someone's dish without asking. Another complaint is she gave us a hard time about splitting up the tab. Either you want our business or not. She acted like we wanted 10 separate checks, and told us that we need to Venmo eachother. That's not what we were saying. I think it was rude for her to shut us down before getting the full picture of what we were asking. Saying you are really busy because you have a party of 35 and are busy isn't a reason to not being able to accommodate. In the end she did split it 4 ways so it did work out. read more

I've been here twice now over the past few weeks and this place is awesome! The service is top notch even when it's been packed and it's got a really great interior. I really enjoyed the pizza, but I'll give my usual complaint that it could have been baked a minute or two longer, but that's on me for never asking for it more on the well done side... They were generous with the toppings and use FRESH mushrooms(!!!!), the cheese was amazing and had a great pull to it and it the sauce was nice and acidic. The muffuletta was great as well. Lots of meat and really flavorful cheese. The spread on it was applied nice and even, so I didn't have it all in one bite. Beers are fresh as well, which is a plus... nothing better than a fresh Two Hearted! We'll be back soon for sure! Gotta try a burger next time. read more

Had a real good time watching the Tigers game, having a couple of beers and some food. The draft beer list isn't extensive but enough to find something you like. I had an Oberon pint and a Labatts for old times sake. Both beers were cold so good there. I ordered a cup of steak and potato soup. What a flavorful soup the beef was tender and so were the potatoes nothing mushy here. I ordered a club sandwich fresh tasting no wilted lettuce and bread nicely toasted. Big enough I had to take half of it home. I also had onion rings crisp not soggy so that good. Not over battered. Our server Alex was extremely friendly and attentive. I usually like to dine in and enjoy their laid-back, old style firehouse ambiance, but I was feeling under the weather and had a craving for chicken pastina soup. I thought this would be hard to find on a Sunday evening, but thanks to EH, that problem was solved!! They were busy (of course after the awesome lions WIN) but they still had my order packaged nicely and ready promptly when I arrived. I was impressed that the soup was Saran wrapped so well so it wouldn't leak! The classic pizza is one of my favorites- you can't go wrong with any of their pizzas! There was a small hiccup with the online pricing and the woman who cashed me out adjusted the price without question and thanked me for letting her know. We also got a BBQ chicken pizza which was burned, and a burger which was awesome! Our service was extremely slow on a Wednesday evening. It took about 20 minutes just to get water and a drink order taken. We ended up spending about 2 hours there which isn't a huge deal, but for a party of 2 on a Wednesday... server was friendly and kind, however wasn't too attentive! The Greek salad was good, fresh and appealing. The CLT was decent, this version comes with cheese. Have had some less cheese on the pizza. The Cajun chicken roll wasn't bad, had some flavor to it, nicely cooked, diced chicken. The dressing is okay with it. When we walked in, we saw a sign apologizing in advance for any issuers with the service, due to restaurant being short staffed. It was a Friday night, and totally packed, but the service was still incredible. We got our drinks quickly, plus any refills without having to ask. And, the food arrived hot. If this is how they do when they have staffing issues, I can't imagine how they would do if they were properly staffed! And, our experience here was far more than just good service. The food was excellent, straight across-the-board. Normally, when I find a restaurant with food that I like, I just make a mental note to come back here again. This time, we ordered extra to go based on some of the things we liked. One sip of the southwest soup, and we decided to get a quart to go. We couldn't decide between that and the clam chowder, so we got both. The clam chowder it is also amazing. Maybe we'll get a quart of that next time. The chicken breast in the grilled chicken sandwich was flame broiled, with a beautiful chart to it. There was also a substantial amount of mozzarella and bacon. Perfect. The muffaletta sandwich what is mine blowing. One bite, and the salami comes exploding through. Since it's made with pizza dough as the bread, we decided to order a pizza to go. Truly, one of the better pizzas I have ever had. Oh... And, the drinks are substantial and reasonably priced, too. I'm kicking myself for not coming here in such a long time. Absolutely love Engine House. I am gluten free and I have to say that the GF pizza here is one of my favorites of all time. It's not super thin tasteless like many other places. They also offer GF buns for burgers and sandwiches. I also enjoy their salads including their Michigan salad. My husband really likes their deep dish pizza and their burgers. If you're there when the train goes by they give out free jello shots. I hate jello shots, but it's nice that they do that! read more

It's seems like it has plenty of free parking behind the building and across the street in the public parking lot. I ordered The EHouse square pizza from a friendly server over the phone. When I arrived all the staff was very friendly , probably a great place to grab a beer or two. The EHouse pizza was good, pepperoni, bacon and tomato's. The crust was crisp and crunchy. Maybe cooked a little fast, the top had a nice crispy crunch but the interior topping like the pepperoni could have been done a little more. Still this was a good pizza and for the cost the small was generous portioned, enough for 2 maybe even 3 people. At $10 it was a good deal. Visited recently and the atmosphere was wonderful. I had the white flatbread which was delicious and the crock of French Onion Soup. The soup was honestly too salty (for my taste) so I did have to add a half pack of sugar to counterbalance but besides that the meal was delicious as a whole.
