My husband and I went there for breakfast this morning and really enjoyed ourselves. It is cozy and inviting on the inside, and they have both tables and booths to sit at. Our waitress was attentive and polite and our food was ready pretty quickly. The food was tasty and very affordable. It also bares mentioning that they have a dessert case too, filled with different kinds of cakes. We will definitely visit again, as they have many options and serve breakfast all day long. I feel like this is definitely a hidden gem. read more

We started coming here when we moved to this side of town (about 3 years ago). The food was delicious. The service is usually spot on as well. The other day my son and I went in for a late lunch and Tori was so sweet with my son...he asked for a seat for his minion (she brought him a booster and then a high chair (because the booster wasn't quite right...haha). He also ordered his minion a lemonade (and told her just pretend) and chicken fingers. She brought the minion a "drink" and made some paper chicken fingers and a banana for him. It's so heartwarming to have someone go out of their way like that. Makes me love this place even more! read more

French onion soup is not a crock but the cheese does melt once it's stirred together. It was delicious. Their grilled chicken is always flavorful and the pink Greek dressing is so good I want to buy a bottle to take home. I was in and out and felt happy. read more

Have been wanting to try here for quite a while. Finally made it! Didn't disappoint! Shared a couple of basic breakfasts- try a bit of everything. Scrambled eggs cooked perfectly, good sausage,pancakes, hash browns and toast. Soooo sorry to be writing a negative review!!! Have gone there many times would have always given at least a 4.5. Today I ordered hot roast beef sandwich, it was lunch meat with gravy, mashed potatoes, & veg. cold. Lemon rice soup was good. Hopefully, this is not a sign of thing to come. read more

We stopped here before a class at the ice rink, and on the recommendation of a friend. It's a nice place inside, and we were welcomed right away. Service is awesome, and has been every time we've been back. The menu is extensive, and breakfast is available all day. You're going to find some things that are different than a "standard" family restaurant, so there are some good choices. Prices are really good, and you are going to get a good sized portion no matter what you pick. Everything seems to be made in house, from the soup to the turkey in the club sandwich (which is awesome). We've really enjoyed everything we've ordered, from a huge omelets, to the sandwiches, to the chicken with lemon sauce. I highly recommend a stop if you're in the area and your belly is in need of being filled with some yummy food! read more

We ventured out Sunday morning to try a new spot, hoping to mark something off of our must-try collection. We settled on Classic Family Grill, and it did not disappoint. I was happy to see all employees wearing masks, but very few customers were upon entry. The food was priced pretty reasonably, but a little high for the food quality. I ordered a Greek skillet and we also ordered the Classic breakfast. The skillet was ok, but I noticed on both others, the homemade hash browns were too undercooked. Instead of asking for them to be cooked more, we just ate around them. For my skillet, the eggs were done perfectly, but the dish didn't have much flavor, and the gyro meat- let's not go there. It basically looked like sausage patties cut up, but tasted like lamb meat; it was the strangest thing ever. Other than that, everything was great, including the service. read more

The quality of the food has declined since this restaurant changed ownership. Prior to the change, it was a good choice to avoid cooking dinner. It was a decent meal with generous portions. On our last visit, the simple meal that we received would have been better if we cooked it at home. We would have saved money to cook the fries and burger at home. The portion was much less than expected as well. read more

Just got back from eating breakfast here. It was our first time here and when we walked in, it was busy (glad it was because of the pandemic and all) but we were reluctant on how fast the service would be since it was busy. We sat down, we got our menu and drinks order right away. We ordered our food and them pretty quickly also. It seemed like they had a nice flow going when it comes to servicing their customers which I don't see very much anymore. The staff were very friendly. My daughter loved their grilled cheese and fries (first time she actually ate her whole plate of food). I ordered the waffle sundae and poutine fries (waffle was nice and soft on the inside with a little crisp on the outside and the fries were just delicious). My husband ordered the chicken and eggs and the portion was bigger than expected (he said everything was cooked on point). We had a great experience here and will come back again. read more

We LOVE this restaurant. Great food with homemade items available. They have a wide variety of menu items. My husband loves their lemon blueberry pancakes on the weekends. The service is great. We get seated quickly and get our food quickly. The staff is very friendly. We love the atmosphere. It's easy to hear other people talk at your table. The prices are very reasonable. If I could give this a negative star review, I would. Worst place I have been to breakfast in a long time. The good things, the weight staff was nice. The hollandaise & sausage gravy was decent and they cooked the poached eggs perfectly. Everything ends there. Worst potato pancakes I've ever eaten. Terrible rehydrated hashbrowns. The biscuits were so hard I could not cut them with my fork. Pillsbury grands would've been a huge improvement. Seriously, how could they not know the biscuits were hard enough to use for hockey pucks. read more

Went there for lunch and had a $50 bill and was questioned why i was leaving a $5 tip and was in shock that somebody would question a tip amount and she proceeded to tell me that it's usually 18% in the system therefore i ended up leaving a $10 tip and when i called and questioned and was told the normal to leave was 20%. i feel bad for the elderly that go there and hopefully they aren't questioned like how i was. everyone is having a hard time at this time of year i understand but to question somebody on their tip amount and not care that they lost a customer when i called is wrong. read more

Don't order the chicken and waffles. You have to pay an up charge for honey. Do they not know it's part of the dish?? Chicken arrived with the soggy breading falling off. I was told I wouldn't be charged for the tablespoon packet of honey and I was anyway. read more

Being a regular here has been such an amazing time. Between my sister, girlfriend and I, we have probably tried everything on the menu. They have been amazing tasteful very generous size plates! Been here a couple times now and haven't been impressed with either. We had breakfast a few months back and nothing really stood out. They do have flavored creamer so that's nice if you like that kind of thing. My bf got some kind a savory crepe. I didn't care for it or the hollandaise. I don't even remember what I got, obviously not that memorable. Today, I got a sandwich. A $9 sandwich with a pickle? Not worth the drive or money. They claim to be voted best of Detroit but I'm not really sure how. Food is mediocre at best and service is just okay. I don't plan on going back. read more

Everything came out so quick there was barely a wait at all, even with it being a little busy! My grandma had an issue with how the sausage links were cooked and they were nice enough to take care of her and remake them, which I really appreciate. The servers were beyond friendly, personal, and attentive. When you walk in, you'll order at the counter and then sit at any open seat. Then, the server brings your food. I ended up getting the Fried Southern Chicken sandwich with chips and a Diet Coke. The sandwich was not overbearing or too heavy. The sandwich was made with a coleslaw, pickles, and mayo, which brought a good pair and provided a good balance of taste. Once you're done, you leave your plate at the table and the server will collect it. Overall, I loved this place and would love to come back to try other items on the menu.
