I enjoyed a slim Jim sandwich with a side of coleslaw for lunch which was a nice portion of ham in the sandwich. Our server was very patient and kind as was dining with two colleagues visiting from India who have dietary preferences. The menu included several choices for both breakfast and lunch. My colleague shared his pancake that the portion size was bigger than your head, fluffy, and delicious with the Log Cabin maple syrup. It was fun to see them try things for the first time. Was disappointed last night when picking up a carry out order. Covid is running rampant in Michigan right now.... over the last 4 days the state has experienced almost 30,000 new cases with Macomb being a hit spot. Inside the restaurant, there was no show of social distancing tables. Every table had full setups of sugar jars,dirty sticky salt and pepper shakers. Two waitresses were seated at the counter, one was eating but the one next to her didn't have a mask on. The waitress who gave me my order had a mask on but it was under her chin. The two men in the kitchen cooking food had no masks on. It was very clear on a Friday night this place didn't care about the safety of their patrons. I won't be back... Apparently I'm not the first person to notice their lack of care about Covid.... read more

The food at this establishment is excellent along with the people!! I first got turned on to the fresh strawberries and cream crepes that are made fresh daily! Soooo delicious! They're a must have! Another thing that is excellent is their fish and chips! You get a generous portion with fries and cole slaw and I usually can't even eat all of it in one sitting! Viks also delivers with no delivery fees, but please tip your driver! I have been ordering Viks for over two years now and love it! The only draw back I have about Viks is that they changed their hours and close daily at 3 (even Monday-Friday)! That's a bit frustrating since I don't even think about dinner until about 4. I like Vik's. The service is pretty good, the food is good with huge portions. My favorites are the chicken kabobs with broccoli (just ask for it,) the salads, and the chicken noodle soup. Took my girls here for dinner and was disappointed in the service. We received dirty looks upon entering and were told to sit anywhere. We ordered 2 kids meals, a large salad, and an appetizer. We were served quickly. However, for the duration of our meal, 3 different servers were at our table. One took our drink order, another took our food order, and each of them delivered our meals as they came up instead of serving them to us all at the same time. They interchangeably arrived at our table throughout our meal to refill coffee, check on us, and give us boxes and the check. This wouldn't have been such an issue except that 2 out of the 3 of them were not very friendly at all. It felt like we were inconveniencing them and I did not feel welcomed at the restaurant whatsoever. It also left me confused as to who I was actually leaving a tip to at the end. Then, before any of us were even 1/4 of the way done with our food, we were already being asked if we wanted boxes and given the check. It felt like we were being rushed out the door. The food was just ok. My chef salad was good, but that's a pretty hard one to mess up. My daughter said her Alfredo tasted like buttered noodles with no flavor. If the service wasn't so weird, we would have given it another shot and just tried something else on the menu because there is a lot to choose from. I wouldn't recommend this place, and I feel that they need to evaluate the wait staff. read more

Working down the street from the restaurant, I can do visited a couple times a week, and I have been nothing but very satisfied with everything. Two items that I am very picky about and hardly get what I eat out are hamburgers and omelettes. Everyone seems to overcook a burger and does not understand what medium is and I just don't care for ordering this anywhere else. This place has a great burger and I love their gyro omelette. I also love their biscuits and gravy which I get with a couple eggs on top and it is delicious. The coffee is great. Service is pleasant and always five stars the owner and his family are very friendly down to earth people. I'm going to be sad when my construction project is over and I'm not working in this area. I would give it zero stars if allowed. To be upfront, my review is not based on the food here. We never got to order. My granddaughter and I went here after I picked her up from school. When we walked in, someone shouted "sit anywhere you want". We sat in a booth and waited. And waited. And waited. We were there for 8 minutes and three waitresses walked by and not one even said hello. Never even got menus. 3 different waitresses and also a gentleman wearing a Viks shirt who was standing at another booth talking. They were about 60 % full. We left and went across the street to National CI and we were treated GREAT!! When we explained the situation to our waitress, she brought over a free milkshake for my Granddaughter and assured her that we would not be ignored there! They get it! We will never go back to Vik's and neither will my wife who was going there once a week with her friends for lunch. read more

So here's the deal.. we stopped in because for some reason our other place decided to upgrade their computer system during business hours and stayed close until noon. We stopped in for breakfast. When we pulled up we almost left because the window blinds and the windows are dirty. This is not a good indicator of overall cleanliness of the restaurant. My wife is serve safe certified and has worked in the school system for food service. We opted to try it anyway. A couple of things to note... the restaurant is small and based on the observation of 'to go' bags piled on the chairs set up for counter customers and all the tables seemed tightly set up. If people were there it would be hard for waitresses to get around. I had eggs Benedict and my wife had a fish sandwich no bun. The food was excellent! The service was much like everyone else said.. good but who do you tip? We had 3 waitresses come by. When I went to pay, I noticed the tables that were wiped, still had remnants of food that were simply smeared. They don't move the condiments when they clean the tables and they refill the Log Cabin syrups using a ketchup type bottle when the bottles are not empty. That is clearly against Food Safety rules. The containers must be cleaned and sanitized before they are refilled. Like I said, it's good food but they need to really clean the place up and follow protocols. read more

Multiple "clean" tables were not clean, and multiple empty tables still needed to be cleaned and bused. Ordered and our food was delivered. I had pancakes that were still raw in the middle, no refills on coffee. I ate around the raw pancake because I was hungry and our server didn't come back. Was in town for work . Brought a group of 24 people plus me. Vik was very helpful in getting us in with such a big group. The food is typical Greek restaurant kind of food. Breakfast is my favorite meal to eat out and Vik's is a the spot . Omelettes are my favorite thing and his is great. Got a veggie without tomatoes and Rye bread. Whom ever he gets his rye bread from is better then a place I get mine from in the Chicago suburbs. Nice and thick. They where able to get us out in a hour with all the others. Get here and eat. Being a longtime resident of the area, I can tell there was a void of quality breakfast spots nearby. Then Vik came along, brought in an excellent staff, and cleaned this place up. It's really clean. The ingredients always taste fresh too, not funky diner fare like you sometimes find in strip malls. My coffee never goes below half full before someone comes and tops it off. Ordered carry-out because all of the National Coney Island's closed and we were craving chicken strip pitas! They were fantastic!! I've had knock off of the original hani from coney at many diners but this was amazing! Their ranch is also amazing. Fries were hot and crispy, cheese and chili on the side like I ordered.
