First off, this place JUST opened a week or two ago. It was formerly Fraser Grill, and formerly Pepi's.....located on the corner of 15 mile and Utica. Not much has changed since it's former incarnations. The menu has been redone, but most of the items on it are the same. The decor is identical, nothing has been changed. Some of the employees are the same. We asked our waitress what the deal was and she indicated that the new owner is one of the former employees who decided to make the diner run more efficiently and do a better job than the previous owners. My wife and I tried some lunch. I had a burger / what they call a traditional burger. It was quite decent. The bun was toasted (which is a plus for me)....all the ingredients were fresh and the burger was cooked as I requested. Don't get me wrong here, it IS a diner and the food is diner-ish. But as diners go, this is pretty good. I'm sure I'll stop here again. It's not 5 star dining. It's a decent place to catch a quick bite. Went to breakfast with a friend and just had eggs, hash browns and toast. It was a tad more expensive for what I had. The service was beyond attentive, but as sweet as they were we didn't need every staff member coming by to top off coffee after every sip. Made it difficult for my friend and I to catch up. Stopped by on a whim. After looking over the menu, we thought "meh, this will probably be a one & done" since nothing was really unique. HOWEVER, we WILL be coming back! My fiancé had their version of a Slim Jim. He said it was the BEST he had ever had. Great quality ham. He got it deluxed with fries (which he said were the "good ones") and a salad which came with homemade ranch. I had Vik's special omelet which is a ginormous omelet stuffed with ground beef, green peppers, onions & two kinds of cheeses and then smothered in a coney style chili! It was fantastic! It came with tomatoes in it, which I didn't notice on the menu. When the waitress saw me picking them out, she had a fresh one made for me, even though it was MY mistake! Now THAT'S service! My elderly father and I live together in a condo I just bought. We discovered Vik's Diner and eat there approximately once a week or more. Great service from polite and well trained servers. My mother and I come here a lot and we love the OPA Burger! the older waitresses are all super super nice and welcoming! Some of The younger waitresses on the other hand weren't very friendly. We had a younger waitress that asked if we needed more time to order and we said yes, a few moments later she came up and said "are you ready to order now?" But in an aggravated tone. There was a also a moment where she was putting coleslaw in Togo cups at one of the tables in-front of customers and did not have any gloves on. We just hoped the staff would wear gloves especially when handling with food! We are in town from NJ for a hockey tournament at Fraser Hockeyland which is right up the street. Breakfast yesterday was phenomenal with fresh eggs, golden hash browns and hot coffee. Today my son got a massive portion of chicken parmigiana with a huge side of spaghetti bolognese and a cup of homemade chicken noodle soup. My husband and I each had 1/2 pound burgers and I shared his fries because the portions were too big. Prices cannot be beat. Support family owned businesses during the pandemic. Was a good place. Key word was. Now it takes almost 2 hours for a simple order to be delivered. It's sad that the "cold" drink is warmer than the "warm" meal. Maybe if they didn't take 100 minutes to deliver it less than 1.5 miles away it would taste better. Thus has happened a few times now. Thought it was a one time thing. The service is extremely fast! 4. They all help each other out and look after the clients regardless of it's their table or not... Went in for the first time last night, after working my twelve hours, looking for something tasty and filling since I was in no mood to cook dinner for myself or my boyfriend, and if I have to eat another lamp warmed burger, I might just go crazy! This is directly on my way home so I figured I would try it! I walked in and was greeted immediately by wait staff and the cook (who I later found out was the owner). Bonus point for that! Someone suggested the meatloaf and so I went with that. It came with choice of potato, I got mashed, and veg of the day (happened to be corn) and choice of soup or salad. I opted for salad with ranch. The ranch is home made so another bonus point for that. It was a huge portion of meatloaf (three big pieces) we actually shared the dinner and we're both satisfied!!! Another point for that! I thought the meal was very tasty, mashed potatoes were home made, gravy was delicious. I thought it was a bit salty but the bf thought it was just right so I guess that was just a matter of opinion. It was SO good that as I went for my morning coffee I decided to stop back in and get a couple breakfast sandwiches to surprise aforementioned bf on our only day off. I walked in and the owner yet again greeted me warmly and remembered me from the previous evening! I felt like a "regular"already! The sandwiches were very yummy, I got bacon egg and cheese and the bf got bacon, sausage, egg and cheese. Both were loaded with meat and cheese and very delicious. Also just a tad more than I would have paid for the same thing at a fast food place. Over all I thought the food was great, the prices were reasonable and the atmosphere very welcoming! Nice quite the experience I hoped for. Waitress skipped over my child for ordering a drink, almost did the same for the meal. Got a veal cutlet with mashed potatoes and gravy. Gravy was deep brown and salty. Husband ordered NY strip medium. Steak was rare. We asked that it just be cooked longer and it was still raw. Business has changed hands a few times and it seems that they don't have it together quite yet. Would not recommend. read more

Our first time here. Neat little restaurant. Plenty of parking. They have tables and booths. I was conflicted on what to rate them as the service was five stars, but the food was three stars. Therefore, four stars. My friend had fish and chips with a cup of soup. He said the soup and the fish weren't hot enough. I had the patty melt and fries. Temp was good on both, but the meat was over cooked, even though I specifically asked for medium. They have a wide selection on the menu so there is something for everybody. i had an unpleasant experience with this diner. i ordered take out and she was very rude over the phone. cut me off every time i tried to speak. then when i got there to pick up food i added on fries and paid for the whole thing. then when my fries were ready she wanted me to pay for it again and i told her i already did, she didn't believe me and went and asked other people and they all told her the that i already paid. then she gave me a dirty look and handed me my food. such a shame, the food was actually good! the service was terrible. wont be returning. read more
