I was so excited to try Alibi for the first time since I have heard so many wonderful things about the place. My experience took 3 hours since the restaurant was very busy during the dinner rush. The downfall is that letting a new server on the floor on his day 1. Roman mentioned at the beginning that this was his first day and it shows. It took him 15 mins to put in our drink order and another 10 mins to get our drinks. Our food did not show up together and most of the items were missing some ingredients. The appetizer showed up with the entrees and that was a hour and half from ordering. I also had to ask for the pizza I ordered since it did not show up. Unfortunately, I had Roman box it up to go as it was close to closing time by the time we received our food. We had to get our own refills and took 15 mins to get our check. I was really excited to try the pizza for the first time. I just hope the MOD didn't diminish Roman's confidence on his first day, as he just threw him to the wolves. He kept using the excuse of being new and it was busy, but most costumers, they can't accept that excuse. I know I can't tell my clients that. read more

I've come to the alibi many times before and I think I get something different every time I come. I never even read the reviews before but it looks like I should be trying pizza one of these times!! Funny that we end up back at Alibi. Apparently I'd eaten here YEARS ago while visiting Troy and had completely forgotten until I noticed my old review! Not much seems to have changed. Still the rustic lodge decor and unused fireplace this warm-ish June evening. Service was very good as was the food. We ordered two pizzas which came loaded with toppings. My french onion soup was very good too! I liked that they offered local beers on draft and as a bonus we caught them during happy hour. The pies were big so we ended up taking quite a bit home. Who knows, maybe I'll be back in another 5 years, lol. read more

Great place! Ambiance is perfect and coZy. We had a girls dinner. Spinach dip is good but very green and a little too loose for me but good, nice portion and plenty of chips. Food was cool, marinara for spaghetti was good, my sons friend got a cheese pizza which looked delicious, I got one to go but of course the cheese wasn't as amazing, maybe because i had more toppings. The banana peppers looked like they were just thrown on there though, not baked in or halfway baked. The breadsticks were good, soft, and hot. The only thing we noticed was my sons and I's food wasn't boxed by the waitress, yet his friends food was. At first we didn't think much of it, like oh maybe she'll do it when she come back but she didn't. When she did she collected the money, never boxed our food. First and probably last time at Alibi! Felt the food was really overpriced for what you got. I ordered the chicken parm and it was one small chicken breast with spaghetti on the side. I also got lentil soup instead of salad and didn't realize it was an upcharge of 2 dollars until I got the bill. The total was 17 dollars without tip. The waitress also forgot to give me bread as the menu said all the dinners came with bread. I asked her about the bread and upcharge in soup when the bill came and she didn't seem to care. Also 20 minutes to take my credit card after she dropped off the bill! To recap, poor service and average overpriced food. Quite possibly my favorite pizza in the state of MI, Alibi has got it going on and then some. I'll grant you, I have only ordered pizza and have never in fact eaten at the restaurant, but their pizza is top notch. I really need to thank my cooking impaired aunt for this one (along with Chicken Shack). Since I was young my aunt has been ordering the house special from here, and since I was young I have always looked forward to seeing my aunt because I knew that would mean more Alibi Pizza. Probably the best present I got from my graduation were two large house specials from my aunt- for me and ME ALONE. Oh Alibi, I'll be coming back to MI soon. read more

A restaurant gem. From their French onion Soup to their Pizza. You truly have never had French onion soup until you've tried theirs. It starts with a gooey layer of cheese, to a crunchy heavenly like baked crouton (that actually stays crunchy no matter how long you let the soup sit), and then finishes off with a savory and not too salty broth. I'm literally about to eat my hand just thinking about it. Now their pizza. Yet another cheesy and gooey concoction. It's truly perfect with just pepperoni. If you love a pizza with perfectly cooked cheese (i.e., with several brown spots - not white!), go here. The dough is phenomenal, complete with a perfectly chewy crust. The breadsticks are amazing too, salty and delightful. The sauce might be a tad on the sweeter side, but honestly it all in all a grease slice of pizza. read more

I'm torn. I want to give this more stars but I just can't. The food overall is decent. The building is very, very nice but could be so much nicer if some upscale thought and effort went into it. Our family likes the following combinations of three items on each pie: pepperoni, mushrooms, and bacon and...pepperoni, green peppers and ham. Winning Combinations. I also went to a great Chinese take out place in Troy, Wong's to get a couple quarts each of their Egg Drop and Wonton soup. A filling combinations together with the Pizza on a Sunday or whenever. I love love their pizza. We moved from Rochester Hills to Macomb, that meant we had to miss out on Alibi Pizza. But working in Troy means, I still take every opportunity I can at getting their pizza. Their sauce is super smooth even slightly sweet tasting. Skipping on their crust should be considered a crime. Alibi cooks put a healthy amount of toppings so that you don't feel gipped. And don't forget that you need to order a side of bread sticks. No pizza place in Metro Detroit has bread sticks like the Alibi. If you need a salad, get their house Greek salad. The homemade dressing and combiantion of flavors are really good. My only complaint with the salad is the overuse of iceberg lettuce. Overall, you just can't go wrong with their pizza. Good pizza, dough is a little on the sweet side for me, but if you like your pizza on the sweeter side you will love it. Good breadsticks. The pizzas are generous sized with big slices, pepperoni is very good. I would rate it a 3.5 with other members of my family putting it at a 4. This place has gone downhill over the years. We got our sons haircut and drove to alibi specifically because we love their food. We will not be going back. My son ordered chicken tenders that tasted like fish. The waitress was super nice and offered to bring him something else but he didn't want. I ordered chicken wings as an appetizer that also tasted like fish. I asked if the stuff could be fried in the same Oil as the fish and the answer is no. Alibi is a true pizza joint gem. Having grown up in the metro-Detroit area, I always enjoyed a meal out at Alibi with family or friends. As I grew up, college and an eventual move to Chicago for business made coming to the best pizza place in the Detroit area a little bit tougher... but I still made it work occasionally. Now, having been recently married and moved into the Rochester Hills area, I can not wait to make this restaurant again a regular staple both for my wife and I as well as a place to bring guests visiting town. The breadsticks are unbelievable. The Anti-Pasta Salad is the best I've ever had (the dressing that comes on it can be used to dip your breadsticks in... don't knock it till you try it). The pizza uses a dough you can't find anywhere else, and the sauce is the perfect amount of sweet and savory. Moving back to the Detroit-area from the Chicago area has many positives. More time with family, a larger yard and home for a dog and eventual kids, and a more laid-back type of lifestyle. However, somewhere in the mix of all that, I rank having easy access to the best pizza around... Alibi Pizza! read more

We took our elderly aunts to the Alibi for lunch today, there 6 of us and it was 1:00 pm so our wait for a table was about a half hour but that was no problem, after we were seated we waited another 15 minutes for our 5 waters and a pop , finally our waitress came and took our orders after another 15 minute wait !!! We ordered loaded nachos for an appetizer which didn't come until our meal was servedwhich we had to wait another 35 minutes to 45 minutes for our food to come out, the service was not what we expected very slow, the food wasn't very good either ,our 82 year old aunt had cold air blowing on her the whole time but the waitress said she couldn't do anything about it cause the place is so large ,it would have been nice if they could have turned the air conditioning off so we weren't freezing, so between the service being about a 2 out of 5 and the food being a 2 out of 5 and the waitress being a 2 out of 5 ,We will not be going back to the Alibi read more

Today is February 6th ,2022 and I ordered a large Super Supreme and a large Hawaii pizza and I was very disappointed since Alibi pizza makes the pizza much smaller than before CoVid-19 but the price is the same. My suggestion it is better of just to buy one topping pizza which is probably better deal. We have been coming to the Alibi for years. The service and the food have always been great. Last night was a different story. It was busy, for sure, but we were seated pretty quickly. We got our drinks and breadsticks almost right away, but this is where it went downhill. Our salad FINALLY came after 25 minutes or so. Then, the people around us(who had the same waitress and came in after us) got their food and finished their meals before we got our pizza. When we asked about our pizza, we were informed that well, it depends on when the order was placed for the kitchen. At this point, it had been almost an hour since we made our original order. The waitress then informed us well there are a couple pizzas ahead of yours but it will be out soon. She was told we were ready to pay for the rest of our order and leave. All of a sudden, our pizza showed up. We are convinced she forgot to put our original order into the kitchen. As if this wasn't bad enough, she was pretty indifferent about the whole thing.
