We were Welcomed by the Manager (I think-- maybe Owner) I mentioned things looked a bit different He was happy I noticed and explained how He wanted to keep it nostalgic but fresh Job well done We were seated and the shading in the Window was adjusted for our Comfort Andrea was our waitress. Helpful and thoughtful. Because we were familiar with the large servings We only ordered 1 meal. The Fish and Chips. With out asking malt vinegar was brought. Our Arnold Palmers were crafted to our taste BTW the tarter for the cod was so delicious I dipped my fries in it. The Coleslaw we couldn't split. Had to have our own ( Yes I had to get a take away for mine so much. Let me not forget the warm wonderful BREAD and whipped butter. That's it for now.. Came here for the first time recently and was impressed. The prices are reasonable, the outdoor seating area is super cute, the service was great, and the food was delicious. I liked that their menu wasn't huge but still had something for everyone. My salad was big enough to have leftovers, and the kids chicken tenders portion was also very large. My picky son loved the beef ravioli and their bread. Yummy fries too. We will be back! read more

I'm gonna say "no". We will not be back. The turkey Reuben is one of my favorite sandwiches and this spot unfortunately killed it with an awful Cole slaw. I feel like there was exactly one slice of turkey in there because all you can taste with each bite is the bland coleslaw. The bread made it look like a promising sandwich, but the presentation is where it stopped. Sweet potato fries were also very flavorless, and the mozz sticks did not help in salvaging any part of this meal. It's a great spot with lots of seating and maybe there are a lot of other really good things on the menu, but what we got did not give us any confidence in it. read more

The Smashburger's were awesome there they make their own buns in house. The bonds are low profile, not a lot of bread but compliment the Smashburger plus the other members of the family. Their meals were awesome too the pizza, the pasta, and even the chicken tenders. read more

About 20 years of off and on visits to Red Knapps, & it's always good. The burgers are delicious, fries are yummy , chicken wings are good, salmon, other sandwiches and more ... the kids LOVE the pasta and meat sauce. Service has always been great. Can't complain. I have always loved Red Knapps, but our recent visit was disappointing. Their fish and chips lunch/dinner has (in the past) had a very unique breading on the generous pieces of fish served with a large portion of coleslaw. The fish has changed. 3 small pieces on the dinner with a totally different type of breading and served with a very small cup of coleslaw. Disappointing! read more

I go to this wonderful restaurant every time I'm in town! There are so many delicious choices on the menu but my favorite is the Knapp burger deluxe. The home baked bun with a very generous and juicy patty, the best! Usually I get fries, but today I had the gazpacho and it was amazing! Major disappointment While I have been here before and have thoroughly enjoyed each visit, last night while it all appeared perfect, my bill was definitely over charged, which upon further review this morning, will make me chose another place to take friends and my family. Took our grandkids there last night, there kids menu is across the board pricing $6.99, a fair value. The OUCHIE is the kids beverage, a glass filled with ice and lemonade poured over the top for $4.47, no free refills either. My meal was to include a side salad but was charged $3.49 So now you got my twice. Now, We are not coming back. You lost me/us a customer. read more

This is the best hamburger i believe in Oakland County. The Knapp burger is always the same tasting and it has a unique flavor and its a pretty big burger. I always stop by when passing through and am always pleased by the efficient and professional staff. I would recommend a upgrade in the lighting because it always seems kinda dark inside and a local iconic burger place should reflect that in its atmosphere. Tried the Macaroni and cheese and would give it three and a half stars. Definitely needs better cheeses and a creamier sauce. Definitely will be back to get my Knapps burger fix. read more

We went here on a Sunday, so the place was empty, usually it's very busy on the weekends!! Very cozy inside and good place to bring the family!!! Good drink specials, I had a butterscotch coffee drink they were out of Bailey's so it was made with vanilla which was also pretty good! The bread is a must try with garlic sauce out of this world!!! Great location downtown. The vibe is Michigan based with traditional restaurant seating. We got the pleaser to be served by Brian who blew it out of the park. The man knew the whole menu and was kind, which we don't see much in todays world! Over his suggestions were spot on and his friendly vibe made the meal much more enjoyable! Not my favorite spot in Downtown Oxford. It has a really fun family restaurant vibe. The bread is delicious and I'm always impressed by the appetizers but both times I have gone for dinner, the entrees fall short. The salads are very dressing heavy. Recommend ordering on the side if you're not into a lot of dressing. read more

Dinner was Great! Service tonight wasn't so good. I get it you might be new as a teenage waitress but customer service is how you make your tips. I shouldn't have to wait and ask again for anything. It's one of our local favorites for fish & chips, burgers and pizza. Salads are good too! Service is usually good, attentive and polite! I did recently have an unpleasant interaction with a takeout order that I believe management handled really well even calling me the next day to make sure I wasn't still upset about it. Was a one off situation I've never had a problem with before. We really like the laid back, family friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Came here today with my boyfriend and his brother and the food was great, our waitress was nice. They had burgers and fries which they both loved! I had a turkey wrap and onion rings which were both very good! We live in north branch but it's worth the drive so we will return soon :) Also as for the look of the inside it was nice too it reminds me of a log cabin, the antler chandelier is a nice touch and the log chairs are awesome! read more

I went here last week for dinner and did enjoy the food and the service was great. I do understand the big item here is probably the burger - but I just did a salad - the half Caesar Salad and this is their description from the menu: Caesar Salad $5.99+ Romaine and homemade croutons tossed in our caesar dressing. Add chicken $3.29, add shrimp $4.29, add salmon $4.99, side caesar $3.59 This was a large portion so the half size was definitely enough for me - I can't imagine how large the full portion would be. I've been here a couple times with my in-laws, and what can I remember from my very first visit to Red Knapps with them? That bun! It's homemade and might I say that it's heavenly?! I ordered the BBQ Burger and thought it was delicious, but that bun really sets their burger apart from other restaurants that do burgers. I don't know how else to explain it, you just need to try it for yourself. The food was good, service was good, and there wasn't a wait at all to get seated. It was pretty full inside but there's quite a bit of seating in the place. Perhaps next time someone recommends that I must try a restaurant for a particular menu item, I may have to actually order what I was sent in to try!! Shame on me for not.. I had breaded broiled cod with a tomato sauce and my wife tried the white fish. We both agree that the BREAD was the highlight of the meal and the fish was only adequate. The outdoor area was very nice and quiet. We really enjoyed sitting there! The menu offers little to no vegan/vegetarian options besides a salad or pasta. Also our waiter was very short and rude- likely wont be back because of those things. He never checked in, seemed burdened by our menu questions and made it very uncomfortable for our whole table each time he came up. Awesome food! Service was okay. That's all. We got burgers (wildcats are the best!) which have the most delicious bun. Can't describe the difference but it's almost pastry like (think non sweet). I had some of the Cajun macaroni which was great. Nice and crunchy with ham and andouille sausage gives it a good flavor with spice. read more

We ordered two whitefish dinners this evening. This was always are go-to dinner from Red Knapp's. It's been awhile since our last visit but we always knew, you couldn't go wrong with the whitefish. Well, I'm not sure what happened but it was dry, gamey (tasted like it should have been disposed of weeks ago).
