Came in for a quick bite, but had all the time too. We were seated immediately. It took 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge us. The manager walked by several times. Could be a communication issue, I thought. So, no big deal when our waitress took our order. She greeted us with "what would you like to drink?" No, "hi, I am," no greeting at all. This is what I think is so important. Even on a busy evening. Just greet and say "sorry I will be right with you." I ordered my drink, and sat there for 20 minutes and still no drink or waitress returning to the table. I just got up and left. I'm not looking for exceptional service, I get your busy. But sitting at a table for 30 minutes without even drinks, water, nothing is absurd. read more

The food and atmosphere are fine, as is the service but Art and Jake's seems ti have joined some others restaurants that penalize you for paying with cash. Whatever your bill is they round it up and do not provide change. If you bill in 18.21 and you pay with a twenty you will get $1.00 in change. So today they got an extra $0.79 but lost a customer. I am not a restauranteur but that doesn't seem like smart business to me. If you go pay with a card, of course like many restaurants they charge you more for that too. read more

Just went there and ordered the chicken wings, mozzarella sticks, and fried pickles. These might be the worst chicken wings I've ever had in my life, The breading was rock hard. Not sure who our waitress was. Dark hair and glasses. We were in a booth. There was six of us. She brought extra lemonade without asking, but the only thing you didn't do was take any plates empty glasses. When people are done eating, they want their plate gone. A disappointing dinner marred by 2 issues, that left me sour on the place. I had some time for dinner after dropping kid #2 at a class. I noticed Art & Jakes, and since it's a favorite work hangout in Sterling Hts, I thought I'd chase down some Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos. I figured I could eat in an hour, but I figured wrong. (It wasn't overly busy on a Tue night) I actually got my entree fairly quickly. Given almost all of the Taco material is pre-made that's understandable. What was weird, and I realize this is picky, is that the sides were served on a flat board. I guess it makes for an interesting presentation, but chasing the Spanish rice around the board isn't wonderful. Too much of it ends up on the table, which means I'm not eating it. Please change this. With 20 minutes to spare I thought I could try the Turtle Cheesecake which looked good on the dessert menu - but also was absent a price. I ordered the dessert thinking, this too is pre-made and will be out shortly. Not so fast. I waited and waited as my required departure closed in. My head swiveled to try and find the server. No such luck. I wanted to pay at least to save some time. Then, as more time elapsed, I wanted to cancel the order which was taking inexplicably long. I considered calling on another waiter or the hostess. Then I finally saw my hapless server seated at a booth, chatting away with another customer. I waved her down as she finally got up and was about to pass me by. I gave her my credit card and I told her I needed to settle the bill and to cancel the dessert. I was standing, coat on, when she returned with a bag and the credit card slip. She said "I packed it up for you because that took entirely took long." Well that was BS, she was chilling at the table, SHE took entirely too long - and now she was lying to me. I figured she's comping the cheesecake, but nope. I look at the bill expecting a zeroed out dessert. Or, at worst, maybe a $6 dessert. It was a ridiculous $8.95 for dessert that was late; dessert I asked to cancel and she delivered anyway. I get that restaurants pump up prices on extras but, given the circumstances, I was not happy. Unfortunately, any time I might have to complain or correct the check was gone - and so was the waitress, again. I had to go, so I signed and left. To add further disappointment the server didn't bother to include plasticware in the 'to go' bag. I ate part of the cake barehanded while waiting to pick up the kid. The cheesecake was just OK. The gelatinous caramel on top was strange and worrisome. Certainly not worth the wait. Even though I will be back in the area often, I won't go back to this shop. The A&J in Sterling Heights provides reasonably fast service with a smile. The one in Washington Township? Not so much. An overly generous 2 stars. Lying to customers actually deserves less. read more

Haven't been here in at least 4 or 5 years. So my friend and I went up to watch NCAA basketball (MSU). Sat at the bar with a ton of MSU fans. That was fun!! I had the veggie pizza. 4 large pieces with thick square crust. I have to say this was the best pizza I have ever had in this area. I mean good enough to go back or order for take out. My drink of choice: Absolute with splash of tonic. Done perfectly. Very friendly atmosphere, of course we were all MSU fans. Great sports bar atmosphere, numerous TVs. Our waitress was top notch. But the food was mediocre. Tons of greasy fried dishes. I felt nauseous after eating the Detroit steak sandwich, which was really bland in flavor. Our table ordered wings and cheese curds and calamari as appetizers, which I know are greasy everywhere, so my bad in eating them. But they weren't really that great compared to other places. Thanks for nothing. I selected non breaded chicken and was delivered breaded. Can you believe a few nuggets cost $14?! Not a big deal, but called to make them aware anyway. Will never give my business here again, as this has gone on several times and every time we are disappointed. Finally compelled to let others know they will also be let down - it's a clear pattern. My niece wanted to come here instead of a family style restaurant across the street. I had never been here so I was ok with trying something new. We went on Friday evening and there was a lengthy wait. I really liked that they can text you when your table is ready - those buzzers, in my opinion, are nasty as you never know who touched them last or where somebody set it down. When seated, we ordered an appetizer and it was delivered quickly - which surprised us cuz of how busy it was. Our meals came out quick as well and everything tasted good. Typical sports bar food - we had burgers. There were a few surprises on the daily specials as it appeared to be a step up from bar food. Hopefully next visit I will not be craving a bar burger and can explore the menu further. read more

Dont understand all the bad reviews on this place. The menu is huge and you can get something different every time and always be happy with it. The chicken parm sandwich is to die for and you can't skip out on the rocket fries. I guess too many people think they are food critics on here. We were told that the kitchen closes at 11 and she came up to us and said that it closed at 10:30 and rushed us to order... she was very rude with throwing our plates down when they came to the table and didn't even speak to us just walked by and asked if everything was ok while passing the table in a rush. My previous review for the washington twp. Location was four star and since then, the have addressed the physical aspects recently and the place looks and feels better now. We are rewards members but were treated like second class customers. After waiting 30 minutes to be seated, we waited almost an hour for two salads. People seated to us prior got their food ahead of us. We missed our show as a result of their latency tonight. Additionally, their computers were not working but we were not told this until we tried to cash out. So, we needed to either go to their ATM to get cash and be assessed a fee or give the waitress our card so she could write down card details. This has fraud written all over it. Why did management decide not to tell about the computers or having to pay by leaving card info or we would not have stayed. Not once during any of this time did a manager come over two provide us a status of meal or to give refills or anything. They were telling jokes, bussing tables and trying to avoid real issues. Our waitress could not have cared less about us and was never there with explanation or concern. I hope someone from their corporate hq reads this and can make a logical assessment. I will not be back unless I get some satisfaction nor will I recommend art and jakes to any work or person I know any longer read more

Second time I've came here for dinner, I will say the restaurant is always clean and the service is good. But I don't know what's going on in the kitchen. The first time I came I had a chicken wrap, the wrap was falling apart, the chicken was cold. It was pretty bad.. I figured it was just a one time issue, so I gave them another chance and came for dinner tonight, I had a burger which was "build your own" it was made completely wrong, and my partner had pizza and it was so saucy it was almost unbearable to eat. Very disappointed, however the person next to us got a salad and it looked amazing. Awful food here at this art & jakes... I had literally rotten tomatoes on my wrap that tasted spoiled like old dish water. I couldn't even eat it. The lettuce was old too! I had them put tomatoes on my chicken Caesar wrap, which I always get at the art & jakes in Shelby Twp and it's always great. I also have to say it's very different than the Shelby location- the wrap has powdered Parmesan cheese on it and normally The one I get has shredded real cheese. The wrap at this location was terrible and cold, the fries were cold and sparse in quantity. read more

They used to have a decently priced lunch menu during the week that was not only affordable, but healthy too; like broiled fish with steamed broccoli for only $7-9. Food seems too prepackaged, like from Gordon Foods or Sysco. Not very creative. Had some sort of Greek food / meat in a wrap, that was not too good, served with greasy fries. Only stopped there out of desperation. One restaurant of choice closed for vacation, another didn't open for another hour or so. Too loud, too many Tv's. Will insist NOT to go again. I love Art and Jakes and I am so excited when they open up their restaurant the Northville/Livonia area! When we are in the Washington area, Art and Jakes is one of our favorite places! The restaurant is clean and during Covid, the staff members are all wearing masks and seating is spaced to respect social distancing. On our last visit we had Lilli as our waitress. She was awesome! She knows the menu and explained the specials and was super quick bringing us our drinks. The food , as usual, was delicious. I ordered the Cobb Salad and it was huge! The salad was filled with grilled chicken, blue cheese, and bacon. I could not finish it since is was so big. My husband ordered the almond boneless chicken that was on special that day.
