This place had great selection of beers and had a cool outside patio, which I didn't know had a band playing today! Popped in tonight to grab carryout for myself and my parents who were visiting. We felt like burgers. I wasn't greeted by staff looking directly at me upon entering the establishment which set the tone for the rest of my experience. Waited on the patio for 10 minutes. Was told by a server working that she would be right with me. It wasn't that busy. It was obvious she was ridin' solo so I was patient until the lack of attention became unreasonable. Ended up ordering at the bar. Bartender was friendly, efficient, and capable of multitasking. Wait time was tolerable. Got home and was livid. Whoever was on the fryer should be fired...not because they don't know how to fry (we can all learn), but because they made the conscious choice to put burnt food in our carryout containers. The sweet potato fries, the onion rings, and the regular fries were all inedible. The burgers were all overcooked. Not sure if they were freezer burned or improperly seasoned or both, or just old meat. I'm not being funny when I say a fast food burger would have been tastier. It's so frustrating when this happens, especially at a cool place with a cool vibe in our local town where quality beef cattle are a plenty! Times are tough, but if a simple burger and some fries can't be prepared, just take them off the menu. The cost of food is high and we threw half of it away. Too far to travel back and complain. Patrons shouldn't have to check their carryout containers before leaving, but I highly recommend it. read more

What a fabulous time we had in Memphis! We had some time to spare before heading out to dinner and we decided to grab a beer. Walking in we were greeted by a bar full of locals who moved seats to welcome us. People were talking about how great the food was so we decided to order an appetizer. The beer battered mushrooms came highly recommended. Wowza!!! If you like fried mushrooms, these were the best I've ever tasted. They were the perfect size/type of mushroom for frying and the flavor of the batter....delicious. They were fried perfectly and served with ranch. The menu looks like great bar food options. We ended up playing a few games of pool and even won a little bit of money playing Keno, I don't ever play, so maybe it was beginners luck. If you happen to be out in Memphis, the Doghouse Tavern is a great spot to try. read more

The Doghouse Tavern is like walking into an English pub in London (I know because i've been to pubs in London). First and foremost, there is a large selection of high-quality beer on tap. The tables are top notch wood, and everything is appointed in wood and stone. That gigantic beer I got? Only $6. And, it gets better, because the food is excellent. I'm trying to watch what I eat, and I normally leave some of the fries on the plate. But, these taste like Rally's fries, and I couldn't help myself. Dang, they were good. I got the slider trio: the Buffalo chicken piece was tiny but tasty, there was a massive amount of pulled pork (enough for 2 sliders), and the beef on the mushroom Swiss burger was awesomely BEEFY. Even the coleslaw (which I normally find too sweet and gloppy) was good: the cabbage chunks were big, but it was nicely dressed. And, Yelpers: you get $5 off your first order of $25, so you have no excuse for not giving them a try. read more

The bartender was apparently running the whole restaurant bartending and waitressing! She was so rude especially to her coworkers her were just trying to help! Never gave us a menu never asked if we wanted another drink! Just sat at the bar right in front of her register where she was constantly cussing! I am a waitress myself and could not believe her attitude her gestures her swearing and getting so overwhelmed her service was so shitty! So first off the service the server was pretty nice, how fast I got my food was kinda slow, i have been to a restaurant with as many cooks and full of people and got my food faster, the atmosphere was ok, it was small town style, but the worst part is the food and drinks, I had a chicken sandwich, it was as chewy as dry gum, disgusting it was full of disgusting oil and grease, barely any cheese, the cheese was bad, it also came with pickle and fries, the pickle looked like it had a bite taken out of it, the fries were ok. I'm so glad they are still open during Covid, we did a carry out today, and my son's family love there (5) order of Boneless Wings Barbecue/Stinging honey garlic flavor, plus cheese sticks, and pickle fries. My wife and l ordered, (1) large BBQ sauce,boneless wings and 1/2-order of bone in wings, honey garlic and sweet potato fries. Amanda, the server was excellent, my order was ready on time, accurate, and helped carry order to car, meeting my wife being very friendly. This was the best food and service we had in a long time. My boyfriend and I stopped here last night for a quick dinner. We wanted to go somewhere that wasn't going to be super busy. We didn't want to drive one of the million restaurants in Chesterfield and have to deal with a wait at 8p on a Friday night. Doghouse Tavern was perfect! No wait! We picked our seat and got menu's and our drinks immediately. Great pub menu with lots of food and drink specials. Prices were very reasonable! I ordered the slider platter and my boyfriend had the rib basket. You have the choice of pulled pork, mushroom Swiss and buffalo chicken sliders. I chose the mushroom swiss and the burgers were seasoned perfectly & very juicy. Both meals came with crispy pub fries. Service was great! Very fast. It was karaoke night. We went up for Trivia last night. Didn't want to go, but my Daughter asked us up. Last time was about 6 months ago. I ordered mushrooms right away before everyone else because it takes so long to get food there. Well everyone else got their food before me. She said, I don't know what happened with your ticket. Yeah right!! Didn't like my last review??. It took 45 minutes to finally get them. This time we ordered right away before my Daughter's and sister in law came. They got there about 10 minutes after us. I noticed the table by us, The Lions club people got their food before us, and they came in after us. My Daughter's food came about 10 minutes after they ordered. Coincidence, I think not. I said we ordered way before them!!! Waitress said, oh yeah, and went to check. Again she said, I don't know why the kitchen didn't get you order. we finally got our nachos and chicken nuggets after an hour wait. Cheese and meat were cold. When we came up with Jim's family and friends, i saw out food sit in the window for about 10 minutes. All cold when she finally decided to bring it. We complained, but didn't dare send it back because we didn't want to wait another 45 minutes. It was a standing joke with us and the people we bring in there for Trivia night saying "I hope we get our food before Trivia night is over". It always came pretty close!! Well decorated pub style bar. They have a couple of pool tables and several large screen televisions. We started with pickle chips, they had a spicy bite - but paired well with some ranch. The serving size was satisfying. I got the feisty chicken panini. It was good stuffed full, had to eat with knife and fork. I didn't expect the onions on it, the feta spread was delicious. We tried the chicken wrap it was huge and a chicken sandwich cooked perfect. we had 2 sodas and our bill was $35 and some change. It quickly would have added up if we got fries as these are an upcharge to any sandwich, sandwiches come with chips included, we opted for this. The waitress was nice but could have circulated a little more to fill drinks. The place was moderately busy for Tuesday evening in Memphis - which translates to a good place to visit again. read more

I paid 10 bucks for quesadillas that had very few ingredients, almost no cheese, and green pepper? My friends fish was over cooked and overall I think they need to rethink the menu. Lots of beer options and a great menu selection! All the food people got looked really good!! So what's wrong you ask? I ordered a nacho. A NACHO. Chips, cheese, beef and some cut up lettuce and veggies. Never got it. Lol baffled! Our waitress walked over with a plate of chips and salsa about 15 min post order and asked who ordered the chips and salsa, we all replied not us! To which she responded, "ah f$ck I f&cked up" I'm assuming that was supposed to be the nachos lol We laughed it off, but what kills me about never getting the nachos is we had a five minute discussion with the waitress about the nachos! Half order vs whole order, how big, how many people it feeds etc! DISCUSSION!! How do you forget that? What did you write down? You were writing! It's literally chips, cheese and beef. Needless to say, this is the 3rd time I've been there and never got food in less than 30 min, and in a restaurant that's never more than half full, in a small town, that needs the business, no bueno! For a neighborhood bar, the food here is very good. They have a small yet diverse menu. I have eaten here several times, and have had delicious food each time. I'm not a drinker so I had not thought about eating here. I had met a friend there for dinner. This has become 1 of my top places to go for a quick bite. I have had the grilled shrimp dinner, delicious! Grilled chicken sandwich, delicious, and their delicious bar burgers are just that, delicious. This has become a favorite spot for a quick meal. Stopped here tonight for dinner. While they still have a limited menu, what they did have was great. Queso burger and onion rings were to die for. It's a bit loud of an atmosphere, but the wait staff is on top on everything and very attentive to their customers. While parked in front and it looked like the place would be empty, but we were surprised to see there was only 1 table available.
