We have frequented Bar Verona for the past year or so and have always been happy there. The atmosphere is casual and friendly. This time, we went during "happy hour" but when we sat at the bar, the happy hour menu was not given to us - we had to request one as did other guests sitting on the other side of the bar. That should be presented along with the regular menu without having the request one. In all fairness, our regular bartender wasn't there so maybe the one we had was new. We usually order the calimari "bibzi style" which is always great and the Athena salad - very satisfying! We will continue to patronize this restaurant. read more

Ambiance is very aesthetically pleasing, beautiful upscale dining feel. Only reason for a 4 star was the dining gets a little loud with the bar right in the main dining with tvs, when dining out at a nice restaurant and not at a sports bar, the tvs felt unnecessary and distracting Otherwise, our waitress Ashley was top notch!! Party of 5 with a reservation on a Saturday. Seated promptly. All of food was very delicious served with unique sides thoughtfully prepared and plated. Brussel Sprouts app was a favorite!!! This is the first time I've been to Bar Verona for happy hour. In fact, I didn't even know this restaurant had happy hour until we arrived. The food on the happy hour menu however did not meet the expectations of meals I have enjoyed in the past which have been exceptional. The fried ravioli reminded me of a frozen entree from the grocery store. The mezza platter was very limited and lacked variety and flavor. The Brussel sprouts were very good. Our waitress was exceptional, and very accommodating; refills were abundant on our sodas. Always love the ambience at this restaurant and they had several decorations up for the holidays. While there were only a few customers there when we arrived, the restaurant was starting to become more populated as happy hour concluded. (Note -I believe that happy hour is from 2 to 4) read more

This is the best restaurant in Macomb County, by far. The atmosphere is spot on. The food is incredible (and consistent). The drinks are always done well (and creative options are always available. Tried the Marshmallow Old Fashioned last night!). And we've always enjoyed our interactions with staff. Last night we celebrated both our wedding anniversary and my birthday. After we toasted with complimentary Champagne ,Roger, the general manager, came over to talk to us to wish us a happy anniversary and we engaged in authentic conversation. Then our waitress brought me a surprise birthday dessert to end the evening. Bar Verona was where we chose to celebrate our special occasion(s) and we left feeling so honored! Make a reservation. I came here for a bachelorette party with a group of 12 and Bar Verona was great! Our waitress was very attentive and friendly, the service was quick and everyone enjoyed their meal. When planning for our group, it was easy to get in touch with staff and plan our reservation. They were accommodating and happy to help. The menu is diverse enough that everyone should be able to find something they like. I was hoping to have the Vegan pasta but upon ordering was told it was unavailable. It was a bummer because we had a couple vegan/vegetarians in our group and it was one of the reasons we chose Bar Verona over other places who just offered a simple pasta with marinara. We didn't go hungry though, they accommodated with a marinara pasta dish with vegetables and while it was fine, it was nothing special or that filling compared to what we hoped to have. Without question, the best dining experience in the area. First time dining yesterday, a Saturday night. Ambiance was great(not overly loud, but not silent), waitress (Ashley) was absolutely fantastic and the food was spot on. Not one thing to change and not one course that was lacking. Meatball for app, 2 different salads, Bistecca entrée and the Beef Short Rib entrée and 2 desserts. Everything was flavorful, but not over salted. Service was fine no complaints but also nothing outstanding. We ordered steak tips as an app with the entrees being pasta with bolognese and a shrimp pasta dish. The steak tips seemed like they boiled or steamed the beef as they were just a gray color in a sort of cream sauce that tasted nothing like a zip sauce. The toast was the redeeming factor of this app but at $19 it was very disappointing. Pasta with bolognese was warm at best, in fact we all stated that the food was only warm we think it could have sat on the pass too long. The dish also wasn't very flavorful the meat sauce seemed more like flavorless hamburger thrown on the plate prior to the pasta and sauce as it did not seem incorporated with the sauce. Over the dish seems dry. Shrimp pasta dish, my wife said it was meh and it lacked shrimp. Someone at our table order a pizza and it did not look good at all. The location was smaller than expected, parking lot was too small and have of the spots are reserved for valet parking which I hate. I don't want to give a stranger the keys to my car. read more

The food looks carby and appetizing. There are some non-fried and gf items on the menu, considering it's an Italian place. I first tried to get a table on a Friday night for after 5:25pm, had idea. They didn't have a table until 9pm. I don't know about other folks, but we really try to always eat our last meal before 7pm and well before bed too. We tried again on a different Sunday instead for dinner, since we only eat one meal out a day. Second attempt at a table for a Friday night and once again they are booked until 9pm. Ugh. Grabbed two open spots at the bar, what timing. Ordered calamari, Bibzi style, a Caesar salad with blackened salmon and a Mediterranean salad with blackened salmon. We indulged and requested a bread basket to try their loaf. The Italian bread was super light and airy. It was good with the olive oil and balsamic and even better with some grated Parmesan too. The calamari, Bibzi style is quite tasty. I like the arrabiata sauce and the Calabria aioli too. The Caesar salad wasn't bad. The salmon is on the small end of things for the salads. Lots of Italian bread croutons in the salad. The Mediterranean salad was so-so. The salmon is also smaller. Skins on still for both salmons. I found or discovered one olive pit in my salad into my last few bites. I am so glad I didn't bite down hard on it. Some of the mixed greens in my salad was a bit wilted in parts too. There are two gelatos and a strawberry cake in addition to the desserts menu. I was too full to eat anymore. The two ladies working the bar and waiting on us are super warm, friendly and attentive. I've been here several times in the past few weeks for drinks and food. Consistent service at the bar. Crowded after work, but you can find seats. The decor is light, bright, and modern. They don't offer happy hour specials, but used to I believe. Their bar is pretty mid level. You won't find special (or local) spirits here. We're gin drinkers and they offered the usual Tangueray, Bombay, and Hendricks I believe. They don't have much of anything for vegans. On our last visit, our server actually knew what "vegan" meant and kindly checked on a few dishes with the chef. They were able to come up with a veggie pasta dish which was good. Hoping to see a few more plant based items added (as well as happy hour) in the future. Parking can be tight at busy times. Plan to park in the neighboring townhouse streets. read more

Walked in and was wowed by the decor. Clean, elegant and inviting! Good wine list and cocktails. Stopped in for a few glasses of wine and some apps. Crusty bread, creamy avocado, oven dried tomatoes and perfectly poached eggs. They even pair it with a fresh salad of Chile and mint. Very filling and refreshing. Finally tried this place. I had the calamari, meatball appetizer and the Giuseppe pasta dish. Then had the flourless chocolate cake and the skillet cookie. My husband and I shared all these and he and I both enjoyed all of it! Excellent food. Very good service. I Also tried their cocktail with vodka, x rated liqueur, ginger syrup and lime. I went with a girlfriend the other night, and we sat at the bar. Ordered some food, including an appetizer. When it was brought out there were some drinks and a bread basket on the bar blocking the food runners ability to set it down. She asked if I could grab it which I did. She didn't mentioned that the plate was scalding hot! I ended up burning my fingers. When I asked her why she didn't tell me it was hot, I was met very unenthusiastic "sorry." A short time later the manager came by and asked us how the food was and my girlfriend mentioned to him about me getting burnt his response was "I'll talk to her about that". We had a fantastic experience last night. Service was exceptional (Anthony) and the food was spot on. We started with Bolognese dip and burrata toast - both were amazing. For entrees, my husband had the short rib and I had the paradelle. Generous portions and delicious. The ambience is lively and friendy and semi-romantic, and the decor is modern and beautiful. When I made reservations, I noted that it was my husband's birthday. He was told "Happy birthday" by everyone from the hostess to the floor manager.
