As a fellow service industry worker this is something I NEVER do but the experience we had last week has been bothering me ever since.. We were visiting Michigan to see family, and they took us to their "favorite spot", Mr. B's, where I was shocked at the way the servers were treated by their own manager! The girl waiting on us (I wish I had the reciept so I could give her name) was so sweet, and clearly struggling but we know how it goes so we're patient. The manager pulled this poor server aside and absolutely reamed her, with personal attacks and a completely unprofessional attitude. That kind of interaction with employees is not only unacceptable in front of customers, it is unacceptable any time! I felt so bad for our server, she tried to keep a brave face but there were clearly tears in her eyes as she cleared plates from our table. I don't know who taught the manager that it's ok to treat employees that way, but it was horrible to witness. I hope that poor server gets a new job and the heck away from that place. Food was decent, beers were meh, but the experience was disturbing. My husband had to steer me out the door as quick as possible before I had words with that awful woman myself. Food and service were good. But we came to watch a college football game that was a BIG deal in the Metro Detroit area. The game was on several televisions but there was a band playing that was so incredibly LOUD that there was no hope of having a normal conversation with the person sitting right next to me. It was so annoying and distracting that all we wanted to do was eat and get the heck out of there. Even if there wasn't a game on, the music was way too loud. This isn't a night club! I was also here recently with a couple friends and they had music bingo and the volume of the DJ's microphone was so loud that we had to move tables. That didn't help much either. And the kicker was that we didn't even see anyone playing anymore. Not sure we'll come back anymore. Slides the kids ordered were bland, so was my brothers slop burger, my husband and our friend had the Taco dinners which were also bland they said no seasoning on meat just hamburger. We have been here a bunch of times so I'm surprised I have never reviewed it. We even came to a Halloween party here. Our plans to visit a few breweries in Flint fell though because he had some obligations. So we decided to stay close. Unfortunately, everything seemed to be closed. Apparently, nothing is open on Mondays. Thinking back, I can think of a few places we could have tried but it was frustrating so many places were closed and we just wanted to hang out for a while. This place is quite big. It's a great place for a gathering. Or if you are having trouble getting in somewhere, this place is nice because it's so big there is usually no wait. It does get quite busy. They got creative as far as bar seating. They have full tables pulled up to the bar. So you're still sitting at the bar but able to social distance a bit better. We both had beers. We both chose IPAs today. The night was rather short, but always worth it! There is no doubt that we will be back, as it's a place we frequent often. read more

Stopped here before a wedding reception. Started with a lil coco martini, which was tasty. We ended up getting potato skins, loaded tater tots, fired pickles, enchiladas, and a taco bowl. LOL, we went a little crazy with the app's haha. And before all that we had chips and salsa...had good heat to it and it was on the thicker side. All were good; I'm not a fan of fried pickles, but they looked good. I'd order all the food again. Not my first choices, but we had a group, so when in Rome as they say. The order was only partially correct, meat was low quality and dry, the bread was soggy, and the person who handled cashing out my husband for the to go order was beyond rude. Ordered a 1/4lb hamburger with seasoned fries. The meat was not completely cooked, and the fries were soggy with very little seasoning. Very familiar with Mr.B's going back to the 70's with their Rochester location. They were noted for the seasoned fries and hamburger later expanded to include pizzas. Have for many times used the Mr.B's location in Shelby for our Christmas work gatherings but no more. Today's meal was a total disappointment. Additionally, they don't honor military veterans. I've eaten here several times and it doesn't change. The place is noisy and the food is just mediocre. So you wonder why I would come here again? A group I belong to meets here regularly. The last time we came here the heat was broken on the North side of the restaurant (naturally the side we were sitting on) and it was about 10 degrees outside. If you're looking for gourmet food, go to a gourmet restaurant. This a long established local bar and grill that serves great food and has a wonderful atmosphere. We have been customers for 35 years and will continue to be. And if the tacos were that bad, why did you order eight? Some waitresses are new, but all are trained to repeat the customers order to ensure accuracy. The staff has always been well trained and do a good job. Those that don't measure up, are let go. The menu at B's is diverse and very well done. They have everything from pot roast dinner to Mac and cheese to pulled pork sandwiches to fish choices. Great appetizers as well. I love this bar...I see what Toby Keith was singing about. The food is great, try the burgers, the Reuben is to die for, and if you have special dietary concerns, they accommodate! Great place to hang out, there is always an event or a band or something going on. We're booking the room for out rehearsal dinner this Spring. I can't say enough nice things about this place. This is one of our go-to places to eat. It is slowly becoming one of our least favorite. We walked in one day, only to be told the entire place was reserved for three parties. Our last two experiences resulted in us waiting over 1/2 hour for our food (sandwiches and salads). Today, my fries were cold and my husbands burger was room temp. I got glares from staff walking by when I sent the fries back. Attitudes in spades. There were two other tables and an employee meeting was held after we ordered. What?! Mr. B's was our final destination for a road rally I participated in. 8:30 on a Saturday night and the place was packed with different birthday parties, fundraiser and communion parties. Yes, a communion party. We had about 75 people participate in our road rally and the group rented out a part of the bar for us to end the night. They rented the place around 9 and our team got there around 8:30. Looking around, there were still multiple parties eating in our area. Granted, we got there at 8:30, but when other road ralliers came they had to stand around and wait for people to leave. Very disorganized. We ordered a round of beers (there were 6 of us) and it took them about 20 minutes to get our drinks. We ordered 2 pizzas (veggie and pepperoni/banana peppers), 3 salads (fajita salad, harvest salad and the Chinese chicken salad) and pretzel bites. Food came out a decent time: pizza was good, loved the fajita and harvest salads and the pretzel bites were great. Deep fried pretzels.. oh ya. We ordered another round of beers which took another 25 minutes to get and at this point we were just full and ready to go. When we asked for our bill the waitress told us that she put the entire party on one tab. I'm not talking about our 6 person party.. but the entire 75 people road rally. Now why would you put all of us on one tab? Ah lawd... it took her about 25 minutes to go through the entire bill and separate and another 10 after she took our cards for us to pay. Let's just say at the end of dinner, we were tired, full and annoyed. Food was good but the customer service and the disorganization was the reason why I rate it a 2. My family and I have been coming here for years! The food is always fantastic - I normally get the fajitas, but I recently ordered the Turkey Artichoke Sandwich and I was super impressed. They roast the turkey in-house, so it's not the slimy thin pieces of lunch meat you usually get on a turkey sandwich. These were delicious, smokey, thick slices of turkey with tomatoes, lettuce and a spread of spinach artichoke dip on ciabatta. It was so big I took half home. The service is decent and the atmosphere is like your typical sports bar. It's unfortunate that they are right off of busy 23 mile road or else the patio would be awesome to sit on. I learned why they were only $1. Worse $1s ever spend in my life. I ordered 2 chicken and 2 beef, one of each hard and soft shell. If I was there, I might as well try every kind right?? Wrong!!! Just all kinds of wrong! The whole basket was a pool of oil! The bottom of all 4 tacos was sitting in a pool of grease. So gross! I don't get it!? How hard to drain the meat after you cook it?? Strain off all that excess fat and oil that was released while the beef cooked down. That's kinda cooking 101. Apparently the "cooks" here didn't get that meno, and apparently the owners think it's ok to serve that oil saturated food to customers. If the tacos weren't bad enough, the fries were the same story. At first glance the fries looked great. They were brown in color and hot to the touch. Good ended right there. They were raw, and they too were saturated in oil. The were raw on the inside, brown on the outside but limp and soggy from not being properly fried. Our waitress made us another basket, but didn't bring them back for over 10 minutes!!! I was over this place and done before she even brought them to our table. This place sucked! I hate to say that, but it's nothing less than the truth. So many other bars/restaurants that I'd rather spend my money at. This is NOT one of them. One and done, and do not recommend. read more

Unbelievable. We arrived at 5:40, ordered at 6:00, because we were talking. My friend had a Cobb salad. I had ribs-no sauce-with broccoli on the side instead of carbs, and a glass of wine. The wine never arrived. We asked about it, and the server checked on it. That's when she found out they are out of merlot. On a Friday night. At a bar. Our food took almost 30 minutes to arrive. My ribs had sauce. I reminded her that I asked for no sauce. She rolled her eyes and took them back. 10 minutes later, a woman cane and asked me if I want them to scrape the sauce off. Hell no! I told her no sauce, give me ribs with no sauce! She rolled her eyes too. I was nice, but my mind wasn't. After another 25 minutes my ribs arrived. They tasted good. But, not one person has apologized to me for the mistake. The bill came. It's 7:00 and we just got the bill, because although we arrived together, we ate separately.
