This is not the Alibi of my childhood. I seem to recall it being a dive that was known for their pizza and at some point was destroyed in a fire. If the above was the case, I'm so glad they came back, better than ever. It always has a packed parking lot, and has taken me over 15 years to return. I of course had pizza. My mom and sister had steak and spare ribs. We all enjoyed our meals. Although my pizza was individual-sized, it was more than enough for me to take home half for lunch the next day. This is the place to go when you crave pizza and salad. I know it's tough because we have so many good Detroit style pizzas like Buddy's and Cloverleaf but Alibi round pizza is SO GOOD! I think what sets them apart for me is the dough is sweeter than most other places and they are very generous with the fresh toppings, including the pepperoni that curls up :) the antipasto and greek salads are absolutely out of this world as well. The dressing is perfectly tangy with a little sweetness. Service is always good and very pleasant. read more

Great food. They accommodated us as a very large party last minute. We ordered things that were not on the menu as well. I had baked potato soup, nachos, onion rings, THE AMAZING BREADSTICKS, pizza, etc. so yummy. There is ample parking and the staff, host and especially bartender Greg were a cut above the rest(aurant). Excellent customer service. It was my father's birthday today and he tends to get snappy over minuscule things. Unfortunately, he slightly did with our waitress, Jessica. Jessica was very professional, respectful and timely despite dad's grumbling. I had the veal parmesan, which was delicious, and the house bread is fantastic. Caution: If you're eating at Alibi of Troy! I don't normally share info like this, but since I have been a long standing customer & was so easily dismissed after bringing to their attention that I was served raunchy, spoiled food thought friends, family & the public should be aware of the slipping standards & safety hazards Alibi of Troy are putting their customers in danger of... I ordered a small antipasto salad & bread sticks carry out on Tuesday 7//11/23 and ate it in the parking lot while in the car before going to visit a family member in the hospital. After a couple of bites noticed something tasted questionable & after another bite was certain something was not right. I took off my sunglasses and although very bright out, it appeared some of the meat (salami had a grayish & darkening tinge to it & the ham appeared whiteish like turkey, not pink like ham). I stopped eating it & took a pic of it since I was concerned I had eaten too much already. Praying I didn't get sick from it, threw it away, then went on to the hospital as I was in a hurry (hence why I was eating in the car in the first place). I should have went inside then and brought this to their attention, but the counter attendant had already been unhelpful, so I went on with my day. Well... that evening I did get quite sick & haven't eaten since that meal. Finally feeling a little better today decided to call & bring this occurrence to their attention since that was the only food I had eaten on Tuesday or since then with no other symptoms other than food poisoning. I spoke to a manager, who I was told was Dean W., to explain what happened & cautioned them to be more observant & careful about the quality of food they're serving & to be sure their employees were not overcharging for items since the counter attendant charged me for an ice water and then told me I could grab a spring water from the cooler afterwards. I told her I wanted ice and don't really care for spring water. I just wanted a basic ice water. She shrugged her shoulders & said, "We don't have that" . The manager was not the least bit inquisitive to learn more about this food poisoning or his employees attitude and told me, "We serve 100's & 1000's of salads & food and never have any issues. We only serve top quality." Uh yeah, Dean that's why I'm bringing this to your attention. Now anyone who's ever worked in the food industry knows 'never' had an issue in all the years they've been in business is likely an untruthful statement. I told him I had pictures that proved otherwise and he could've cared less. He again stated they only serve the best ingredients. So I'll let you, the consumer, be the judge & decide if you are interested in eating their 'top quality' food yourself. Also, be aware Alibi apparently no longer has ice or water, only bottled spring water or at least that's what I was told ... Alibi makes every effort to keep their title of a Troy Legend. AMAZING pizza and salads. Great menu variety of a typical pizza restaurant. Service is okay, but I will always defend this restaurant's honor solely based on their pizza - gooey cheese, fluffy crust, fresh toppings. Your meal will come with crunchy breadsticks (the ones with sesame seeds on them), but you can order a basket of hot & fresh breadsticks for $2.95. Alibi's hot breadsticks are clearly worth more than this price as they are ALWAYS fresh out of the oven, with a little bit of butter and salt. Alibi has one of the BEST Greek dressings I've ever had. I'm Greek, so I think I have some pull on this one. Their Greek dressing is a little on the sweet side and has a salty touch to it, but coats your salad perfectly. All of their dressings are in such high demand, and with their own recipe for all their dressings, they do not sell them, nor will they give you extra. You are limited to one extra bottle. The restaurant has been recently renovated, so it's not nearly as dim as previously. It's also more clean and easier for the staff to clean the restaurant. We celebrated Mothers Day there. Guaranteed it was busy. We chose to make reservations for 6 pm. It's a shame that we didn't send one pizza back as it was thrown together and no cheese on a piece of it. They no longer serve drinks in larger glasses like before. Our salad wasn't too bad. When we got seated there was no silverware and had to wait for that too. It's hard when you have an inpatient young boy too. Yesterday, 12/26/21 - We decided to purchase a Large Pizza with three additional items, a small antipasto salad, and French Onion Soup. Everything was delicious and I was pretty happy UNTIL I looked at the receipt. I doubled check the menu on Alibi's website and noticed we were charged more for the soup. At first, I thought, maybe they just didn't update their menu. However, every item we ordered on the menu was priced correctly EXCEPT the soup. Were we overcharged? I would love for Alibi to answer this question as I do not want to call, upset the staff and perhaps find a surprise in my next order. The outside of the building is pretty and landscaped well. Inside has a funky lay-out with diners spread out in different directions. The booths are comfortable and there seems to be plenty of seating. Our meals came with two breadsticks each. The breadsticks came served warm, fluffy and 5 star rock-delicious! I could dine on nothing but the bread. The salad that came with our meal was fresh and plentiful. I had spaghetti with meat sauce and mom had the chicken parmesan. There was a lot of sauce on my spaghetti and I love it that way. We didn't care for the sauce as it taste like it had too much sugar in it. The silverware wasn't very clean and the wine glasses looked like they could use a good scrubbing as well. There is a lot to choose from on the menu. The service was good. We will return and try some other items that do not involve spaghetti sauce. read more

I hate having to write this, because Alibi has been my #1 favorite pizza for years -- until our last visit yesterday afternoon. The pizza just wasn't the same. I don't know if they changed the recipe, hired a new cook, or what, but it was bland tasting, the crust was overcooked and the pizza lacked that signature sweet Alibi flavor that I always loved. I've been chasing the Greek salad for over twenty years. I lived in Michigan until I was 23. When we moved, the only thing I knew I was going to miss was the Greek salad from the Alibi. Everyhwere I go, I order the Greek salad if there's one on the menu. I have yet to find one that is even close. Even true Greek restaurants can't capture what makes this Greek salad so special. The pizza is fine. Oh, they also had a hot fudge brownie sundae that was outstanding... not sure if it's there any more. I ordered the Fried Mushrooms, and Fish & Chips. The mushrooms were the biggest I have ever eaten, and there were 8 of them. Three large pieces of tasty fish and a nice number of fries. Our server was Loril and she served our table of 10 like a pro. Very nice atmosphere at resembled a log cabin. Everyone at the table enjoyed their food and took home leftovers. Even me! Alibi has been a staple restaurant in my home since I've been a child. It is truly Troy. My father, now gone God rest his soul; loved alibi. When his brother would come to visit from out of town, daddy and him would run over for a beer and delicious food. We had alibi for daddy's funeral dinner. I cannot say enough good things about Alibi. My whole family has been coming here for YEARS. I have since moved away to California but every time I am in town, this is our go to spot. The go-tos are the anti pasta salad (the dressing is to die for), the hot breadsticks, and the pizza. Dont even mess around with anything other than the pizza. The crust is just slightly sweet but its perfectly balanced with the sauce. It's always busy and you wont be seated until your entire group is there, but it is definitely worth the wait. I love this place so much I'm even having my bridal shower here in a few months! They have a great back room for events and have been super accommodating since it had to be reschedule due to COVID-19. read more

I don't know where to start. This place had horrible food and the pizza was mediocre at best. The service was terrible and the overall experience was just not one I wouldn't recommend to anyone. Our server was very un clean and looked like see was one something, I actually over heard other servers talking about her and how she stole one of the other servers jackets and cigarettes.
