You know I've been going here for over 40 years. The last couple years it's slid a little bit, but the last six months have been atrocious and today was the worst ordered. A large cheese and pepperoni pizza came to the table 3-4 inches high on one side of the pizza flat as a pancake on the other side of the pizza just thrown together like a sloppy mess. I asked them to simply just remake the pizza. I was not happy with that one that they brought the waitress was very unpleasant and not happy that I asked came back 15 minutes later with the exact same pizza unacceptable. I can't wait to call the manager tomorrow. I wonder if they even know what she did. I will never be back and looking at the reviews the last six months pretty bad over there at the old alibi. read more

I was going to claim this place in the name of life, liberty, and yelp. But I guess you actually have to own the business, go figure? I really don't care for this place. The pizza is alright, but there is better pizza in Rochester or Troy. I get the history and if you like that sort of thing, then go nuts. The folks who run it care about customers about as much as they care about claiming the yelp listing. It much. A friend has a surprise bday party here...20 people. Service: Initially no one waited on us for 25 mins when it was only moderately busy in the overall restaurant. But, I will exclude that b/c it may have been a screw up at initial stand. Ambiance: cozy lighting, casual dining. Note: Sat 6pm is packed restaurant. Food: We had pizza- thin crust, salad. Both very good. Caesar had lots of leafy GREENs. Covid really did this place in. They have short and their menu and their hours. Service is not good anymore. They removed so many things from the menu. It's basically a pizza joint with some sandwiches in a few dinners. They don't always bring the free bread you're supposed to get. They got rid of the shrimp and many other items on the menu. Individual Greek salad has turned into the size of a cup for $8.25. Prices all went up and quality went down. Disappointed.

I hadn't been to the Alibi in over 10 years and was so glad we came back! We started with a side of breadsticks (the best!) For meals we had the chicken Marsala with fettuccini and French onion soup; Red Hawk chicken sandwich with sweet potato tots; Greek salad; and Hawaiian pizza. All the food was amazing! Had a group of friends for a lunch I have had alibi pizza and salads before ...and they were always really good but this time not so much I had a small pizza which was OK . Just cheese and pepperoni nothing special and the antipasto salad that was very expensive on a teeny tiny plate that was all lettuce and very little toppings. Ordered carry out pizza and a large antipasto salad. Always tasty at the original location ( we use the secondary location on Lapeer Road in Lake Orion quite often). Ready on time, hot, good polite service. Customer since the days of sitting at the bar when they grilled my hot sub sandwich where you could see them prepare it. We had a party of six for lunch on a Saturday. It was not busy at all. We ordered three fish and chip entrees, ribeye steak sandwich, pizza, and antipasto salad (breadsticks come with). It was plenty of food for us! The salad was drenched in dressing. The fish and chips was great (see my previous review). It comes with coleslaw. The sandwich was huge but the steak was cooked medium well when we asked for medium. The pizza was tasty, but I've had better in the metro Detroit area. The service was slow. They have signage on the front door that says they are short staffed but there were three tables between two waiters. read more

Usually there pizza is pretty good but for some reason I gotta carry out and there was barely any sauce on the pizza. It was so dry it tasted like the box. It was just a pepperoni cheese pizza. I feel like they gave me a pizza that was forgotten and sat in the window for a while think twice about going back. read more

I remember coming here years ago when it was a little white building and that was a long time ago. Never disappointed in the food and the staff is friendly. I do wish they would hire more help but I understand and it is definitely worth the wait for seating. We have not had Alibi in forever! So glad we decided to grab dinner here last night. The food was amazing and came out so quickly!! We started with the antipasto salad- though I think there was more ham/cheese than there was lettuce in this salad lol. The nachos were superb! And of course the star of the show was their pizza. The dough tasted super soft and fresh. I would highly recommend coming here! Tons of options on their menu! Tried inside dining again and although they had signs that they were understaffed the service wasn't the issue. Unfortunately the food has not been the same since they initially shut down due to Covid. French Onion soup was still great, but that was the high point of the meal. I ordered a French Dip and fries, the roll was hard toasted on the outside to where I had to dip it so I could bite through the bread. The fries that came with it were the batter coated fries that were just mediocre. This place was super tasty. I went here for the first time tonight, with a friend, and I had heard that their pizza was great, so I was interested in trying it. My friend got a salad and an order of breadsticks, and let me have some of the breadsticks ... they were pillowy clouds of goodness. Yum. For my pizza, I ordered a small pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms, and green peppers; I believe it was about $12, and came with four huge slices. Definitely enough for two people to split, and now I have leftovers for tomorrow. Like others have said here, I think they do use canned mushrooms, but I wasn't bothered by it; next time I might ask for fresh, though. My friend got a pepperoni pizza and that looked good as well. Our server was Rose and was on top of the water refills, we never had to ask for them. This place kind of reminds me of Shields, pre-renovations, with a hint of Camp Ticonderoga vibe, and I'll definitely be back ... everything was super tasty. My only slight complaint is that I wish they had their own traffic light ... taking a left onto Rochester Road, even with 7:30pm traffic, was brutal, and took me about 5-10 minutes. Can't believe I've never reviewed Alibi - my family has been enjoying the food here for 20+ years! Admittedly, we almost always get carryout (never dine in), and the only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because they don't offer delivery. But their pizza is my favorite of all time, and their antipasto salad with house dressing is a must too. I've only strayed a few times to try their lasagna, which is also pretty good. They have a huge menu to choose from though and a full bar. Just note that during peak hours, this restaurant can get crazy busy. Not sure if I've had pizza like this from any carry out place, maybe Peppis on Livernois and Square Lake, which has $5 1 topping larges, plinth thatnis for a different review. Bread sticks are good, doesn't come with any dipping sauce, but that's OK. Maybe you can order some. We had the anti pasta salad, pretty good. Comes with ample dressing though. I am in my 50's and have been going to The Alibi forever. They easily have the best pizza, breadsticks and antipasto salad. Our family gets this combination for many of our birthday celebrations. It usually begins with; I want The Alibi antipasto for my birthday, and leads to a carryout order. This again happened today for my wife's birthday. My son drove the 30 minutes to pick up the order and the 30 minutes back home with the order...only to discover they put in the wrong salad (a green salad). My wife was disappointed, but what could be done with people there to celebrate her birthday...? After everyone left, she called and asked to speak to a manager assuming they would be willing to credit us. They originally offered to credit us $10 of the $25 salad...then after my wife expressed her disappointment, they upped it to a still very disappointing $15. I have to say after all these years of eating at and/or doing carry outs at this wonderful restaurant, and 20+ years of being in the marketing industry, I am extremely disappointed and unimpressed with their lack of customer service. This is a great restaurant and family friendly. They have a large bar area and other dining in separate areas of the establishment. The decor is rustic warm and inviting. The service is friendly and responsive. This was a random choice for an office lunch and checked the place out the week before. The food was viewed as excellent by everyone and the pictured Perch was fantastic. I am always in search of good seafood and I will definitely be frequenting this place. We had not been here in years and were really excited to come back again as our last visit some 10+ years ago was so good. What a disappointment! Everyone was eating with their coats on because it was so cold in there. Without asking, the salad was already dressed and we had planned on taking the rest home. Couldn't do that...it was drenched in oil and vinegar. Then there was the pizza. Some pieces has green pepper and no onion, some pieces had pepperoni and no green pepper. It was made so haphazardly, you could tell that the cook who made it didn't care. I had to wipe my own table down also and it wasn't even busy. People used to line up at opening. That should have been my first clue, parking lot was 3/4 empty for a lunch on a weekend. read more

No one approached us. No one took our drink order. Nothing... While we were waiting a table of 8 was seated and a server came to take the drink order for the table. A table of 2 was seated behind us. A server also took their drink order. We sat for 20 minutes and no one approached our table. We got up and left. I will never go back to Alibi, ever!
