Well the Boca Black box, a small and intimate venue on Glades Road in Boca Raton is a hidden gem to say the least. The Black Box hosts some of the greatest country, 60's, 70's and 80's cover bands! Many are national acts that find their way to this wonderful little venue and light the place up. The owner, Randy is warm and inviting. I believe he did some standup comedy in his younger days, as he does a few minutes of comedy in the stage before each show. The venue seats only about 280 people. There is regular auditorium type seating and my favorite, personal tables along the perimeter that seat up to 8 people each. The ticket prices are very good and well worth it! The service is excellent and you are never left without a cocktail before and during the show. The waitresses are always walking around checking on everyone. They are friendly and friendly warm. Randy must be doing something right as I have been going to shows there for 3 years and the wait staff never changes. I know most of them personally now and always receive a warm welcome. There is noIt much in the way of food there, so enjoy a nice dinner before or after the show at one of the many restaurants located right near the venue. Give it a try! The Alabama Shakes crowd is a chill one, so a lot of people had blankets and were sitting on the outdoor lawn. We got a nice standing spot up front and caught a vibe all night. Some people brought lawn chairs but it seems like the venue has different dates or events where lawn chairs or acceptable or not, this was not that night. Parking is not too far away so they put them back and came back with blankets to sit on. There are a variety of food and beverage vendors. Pizza, sandwiches, hot dogs, empanadas, fries, cocktails, beer, lemonade, water-- there is something for everyone here.

There is no formal seating it's all lawn seating. Nice Amphitheater with a view of a lake and they have restrooms. There are food vendors so there's plenty to eat. You cannot bring in food you're only allowed to bring in one sealed bottle of water. The Acoustics and lighting were good. And there is plenty of free parking which is a bonus these days since most venues charge $ 20 plus to park

Overall, I enjoyed the food and night out with friends, however I will say this was not what I expected for a SOBEWFF event. First, the event description stated indoor/outdoor, so I imagined there being a tent outside with food vendors, and then food inside with the DBM vendors. There was no outdoor area included in this event. The only vendors were the DMB restaurants themselves, plus one outside vendor: Chef Joe from Ember Grill and Rosewater. Their food was delicious, and the only one that was on par with SOBEWFF food. Additionally, the feature of the night was chef Nick DiGiovanni. We didn't see him at all, nor was there an announcement of his demonstration or signs to show what time it would start. We only knew it happened via social media posts, and we were at the event the whole time from 7-10p. Many food stalls ran out by 8:30 (halfway through the event). Big T's Deli, Ferdos Grill, Surry Co, County line all ran out before we were able to grab some grub. Delray Beach Market itself is fabulous, though. The food is absolutely delicious. The conch fritters from Tip To Tail were amazing, the guac at the guac stand, tacos from Vote For Pedro, sausages from Alpine were amazing, matcha from Modern Rose was perfect, and the ice cream from Bona Bona was beautifully presented and delicious. Additionally, Alpine 210, Big T's Deli, Bona Bona, Dad's Favorite, The Modern Rose, and Vote for Pedro went over the top with their offerings, too! I actually think this would be a great event for them to host annually, but maybe separate from SOBEWFF.

These people were not attempting to bring the items in but finish it off & throwing it out. Then the usher in the theater had the audacity to tell our group to "keep it down people are complaining" when we did not see a single party get up. It's a musical play why is it against the rules to sing along at a decent level (meaning where only our group can hear us) & enjoy the production? Again horrible interaction with customers. This was the first time in 30+ years of going to Broadway musicals that we were told to be silent. Lion King, Aladdin, Chicago, Evita, Jesus Christ Superstar, West Side Story, Rent & so on we've danced in our seats & politely sang along NEVER did we experience what we experienced Saturday night watching Jagged Little Pill.

I spoke with a gentlemanly manager once inside when out of nowhere an apparent female it/Karen, absent hygiene and manners and claiming to be the real manager, rudely interrupted and tried to intimidate me into silence, claiming I am unprofessional for calling out fatboi; perhaps she is the root cause of such unhinged and inappropriate behavior toward paying customers and others in sight. Nothing a case of Midol and sanitary napkins wouldn't calm and soothe. Fatboi and Karen both need to STFU and get on track. It should go without saying that this garbage is way out of place here, and surely I cannot be expected to hear out your solicitations for season ticket purchases and other donations. These creepy people made up my mind before I reached my seat. Then I observed on the way out a flock of badges with guns swarming about. WTF was that? Was this due to staff behavior? Was I singled out or is everyone treated despicably here? Entirely preventable - all of it, and certainly unforgettable. It was indeed an enlightening day. I expected and deserved much better and so should all customers. NOTE TO MANAGEMENT: Customer-facing employees, contractors, and volunteers must all be thoroughly vetted and adequately trained as was clearly not the case here. Threatening, harassing, and annoying customers is not a business growth strategy: rather, it is a business failure and defunding strategy. Escalating conversations into confrontations and threats risks violence and injury to customers and staff alike, and likely the liability, publicly, and potential incarceration is much more than you can afford. Monitor and hold all your staff accountable for their behavior at all times. Rid yourselves of the bad ones and low performers forthwith. Put yourselves in your customers' shoes and test your staff at all levels frequently. Good people start from childhood, not magically when you hire them. You need not adhere to thug life. I challenge you to review your video and corroborate my statements herein. It is highly disrespectful and insulting to the many hardworking, dedicated, and professional cast and crew to unleash skanky staff of the burger barn dropout failure sort upon _their_ audience. Nicknamed the "Greatest Show under the Sun" this is one of the largest arts & craft festival in the Southeast with over 500 vendors, food options & official merchandise for sale too. It was a very very crowded day here. I'm amazed we found free street parking a block away. I wore my Delray Affair shirt from previous years. We arrived at 1:00 and found metered parking off Atlantic Ave. Happily the app was changed for the weekend so we could stay here all day. Shuttle bus & free golf cart transport was available for the weekend. We walked along 7 blocks of palm tree lined streets in downtown Delray Beach. The Delray Affair has received numerous awards for its 'eclectic' mixture of art, great crafts & funky products from around the world. Artists & crafters from all around the country exhibit here.

It was one long street filled with artwork and vendors. I think event reached the beach. I could not walk that far. I had such a good time here. I am doing it again next year. They had so many food vendors and it smelled so good. They were located betweenthe streets. I ended up getting some kettle corn. I could not resist. They also had many restaurants located next to the event to choose from. The event is free and it's three days long. It is very well organized. Finding a public bathroom was an adventure. There are parking spots near the event and a garage. The city also provided a shuttle that came every thirty minutes.

The event is spread out so you don't feel overcrowded. All the vendors were friendly. There were plenty of trash cans to throw your sample plates away. You got to vote on your favorite dish. I chose Dada's bacon wrapped goat cheese stuffed dates. They are amazing! The live music was great too. There is parking in the garage just to the north of the venue. Overall, a great night!

The event for the most part was well organized. The ticket booth was fast and efficient. All the booze was the outer row and the food the inner row. I have to say there were a lot fewer restaurants representing this year which made the food to booze ratio quite off. Less tables to sit and eat from, also made it harder to socialize and juggle all the cups, food containers and plate. Music as per last event was exceptional and I love that they use a local band out of Lake Worth that really know how to throw a party. As for the food, Hullabaloo stole it for me, their pork belly was to die for and I probably, and unashamedly had about 5. DaDa was there with their classic goat cheese and chorizo stuffed dates wrapped in peppercorn bacon, BrusRoom showed up with a boneless buffalo wing, Melting pot did a little dessert medley with melted chocolate, Seasons 52 had mini desserts (red belted, smores, cheesecake), Bella Luna had a seafood bisque and cheese pieces - that sums up the food options. As for booze, there was at least 4-5 breweries, 4 wineries and a whole lot of liquor. My favorite new find was a chipotle infused silver tequila called Tanteo which the lady was nice enough to give me a mini bottle to take since I became an instant fan. Overall I had a good night, I do think the last event was better overall, and the tickets were pricey considering there wasn't as much food, but a good event for a good cause nevertheless.
