The Foundry is a small neighborhood theater in Wilton Manors, just across the street from Union…read morerestaurant and next door to Island City Stage on Dixie Highway. Plays of Wilton makes its home at The Foundry, a 54 seat black box theater that is wheelchair accessible. Since there are only 4 rows of seats and the theater is small and intimate, almost any seat in the main section is a good seat. The seats are next to each other, so people sit tightly in this small venue. There are some side seats sometimes, but I do not recommend, since the angle of vision to the stage is not the best. Out of all the seats in the main area, I find seat B7 to be the best. There's a pole next to it and an aisle on the other side, so this is the one seat that is almost "private". The plays are mostly LGBTQ+ themed and based. The one I went to see called 10 Naked Men was not all nude. Actors stayed clothed most of the time, but the title sure got people excited about the show....LOL.... Hunter's the nightclub was kind enough to donate red and white wine as well as water for the show, so these beverages were complementary throughout the play. There is limited parking in front and behind theater with some handicapped parking spaces. The theater opens one half hour prior to performance times. Performances are usually Wednesday through Sunday. Evening performances at 8 PM and matinees at 2 or 3 PM. As of 2024, the performances are usually : $35 General Reserved Seating $50 Premium 1st Row Seating $25 Side seating, when available

When I asked why he hadn't taken it there, he said the actors were "too demanding and difficult." I believed in the Foundry enough to personally contribute $5,000 in 2022. That same year, I brought him a play I had discovered from obscurity, then produced and directed in Los Angeles in 1997, which Encounters magazine named it one of the year's best theatrical experiences. Ronnie produced a staged reading at the Foundry where he allowed me to direct it. After the reading at the Foundry, he proclaimed to the audience that "It was the best staged reading in the history of his theatre." He then asked the audience whether he should produce it. The answer was an yes. He scheduled it for December 2023 and hired me to direct. When holiday conflicts cost me most of my cast, I asked in October for help recasting and for a meeting with the set designer. He cancelled the production, calling me "too demanding and difficult." The theatre has since announced Stray Dog Story, directed by Mr. Larsen. I hold no rights to that play, but the timing is disappointing and poor business practice as he promised that he would support me if I produced it elsewhere. This support did not happen. Theft? No. Hurtful and mean spirited? In my opinion yes. I remain grateful for the work I saw at the Foundry. Mr. Larsen which would give me pause if I were ever to decide to donate to a Theatre company again

Last time I was here, we saw An Evening with Phil Rosenthal of Somebody Feed Phil which was an amazing show. This time, we returned to check out Adam Ray who is a comedian and has a special on Netflix called The Adam Ray Show with new episodes every Friday. We got show tickets along with Meet & Greet tickets. This venue is just beautiful with a classic & elegant vibe. Cocktails are pricey at $25 for liquor beverages. We ended up getting Bacardi Mojito canned drinks. Our friend bought us drinks so not sure the cost but we knew we wanted to stay away from the $25 cocktails. Ha. We had awesome seats about 10 rows back in the middle section. They started almost promptly at 7pm with the opener which we didn't remember his name but he was funny. Got the crowd hyped up for Adam Ray. Let me tell you, Adam Ray was HILARIOUS!!! Great material. Our faces hurt from laughing so much. Be warned this is not family friendly material whatsoever. Lol. We also got the Meet & Greet package so after the show, we remained in the auditorium and they moved us to the front to wait for Adam Ray to come back out for the Meet & Greet. We waited for a little while before he came out. But he was so good and so personable with everyone that the wait was worth it. They ushered each group to wait in line to go on stage to meet him, shake his hand, talk to him and then he spoiled everyone with merch like hats, t-shirts, hoodies and a signed poster. So cool. Adam Ray is so down to earth and a genuine guy! So funny too because during the show, he was telling jokes at like 150 mph and then during the Meet & Greet, he was mad chill. Polar opposite. Hahaha. The Parker is an elegant venue with the opportunity to upgrade to The Haller Club! Totally worth the additional ticket! First, the Parker Team are all incredibly friendly, welcoming and professional! I'm amazed every time I attend a concert they are consistently welcoming! The renovation is absolutely incredible! Beautiful! Definitely upgrade to the Haller Club! The atmosphere is relaxing, comfortable even for a single person... The display of food is 5 Stars! The options are endless! From cheese, fruit, salad, fresh rolls, butter, always 2 hot appetizers, display of mini desserts and fresh fruit! A dedicated bartender with complimentary wine,beer and water bottles. The mini spanakopita and pork sliders were our hot options. Delicious! The service, food and ambiance are all 5 Stars!! Now to the Happy Together tour! Brilliant performance by all involved! Each act outdid the other! The audience sang along to each song! Especially with Gary Puckett! I hope the venue continues with showcasing the bands from the 60's, 70's and 80's! Yes! All very highly trained and their performance showing their skill levels and artistic talent. Some are actually continuing their dance journey into their college years. I'm sure we will be seeing those that continue their training to appear in ballet ensembles as well as other dance related professions. The recital was long; one suggestion is to break up the recital into two portions during the year if it's feasible; just my two cents. Overall, great training and great talented dancers.
