Tucked in a little plaza off of state road 84 in Davie you'll find a beautifully lit and all white dressed room with a small section at the front to turn into a picture wall. A bartender that happily served liquor that was available for this event and elegant tables and chairs with sexy lighting throughout that made you feel like you were far away from a little plaza. A larger room in the back where the party decided to have their food spread and a dancing floor with DJ table for when you're ready to break it down. I was a guest for a party at this venue on a Saturday night. The place was really pretty. Attended a white party which was lit up in different lights. It was nice. There was a bathroom in the party room itself so it made it convenient to take my 5yr old quickly. There was a separate room where the food was & that was nice too. The food was good. Disclaimer: We did not use 84 West Studios services. This is a review based only a consultation for an event my family was planning. I would never think of using this company after the consultation. I had an appointment with Jeff, who I believe is the owner. About an hour before, Jeff's wife calls to tell me he is running late. No problem. I actually appreciated the courtesy of the call instead of having to wait. What I did not like however, was that when my family and I got to 84 West, Jeff was with another couple. He explained they were a "walk in" and he would only be couple of minutes. Twenty minutes later, Jeff finally got to us, his scheduled appointment, with barely an apology. By then I had a feeling I probably did not want want to work with someone who was deliberately tardy and disrespected others' time. During the the consultation, Jeff kept repeating that he was the preferred vendor at the location we were using. He was not interested in working within a budget all about up charging and overpricing. I know many items he offered were way overpriced, as I shopped them afterwards. Jeff could not give me anything in writing at our visit so he said he would E-mail a written estimate to me. Jeff never gave us the respect of E-mailing the estimate or ever contacting us again so I could only imagine that he was not interested in working with us at all. Perhaps my event was just too small potatoes for him, but I consider the lack of a response to be pretty poor customer service. Oh, and we did find a company (Motiv8-review to follow) to help us with our event (DJ, MC, games, decor). They worked within our budget, were responsive, and treated us with respect (unlike 84 West). read more

If I could give 84 West a -5 stars I would. They are the worst company to do your event. Don't even bother going!! Let's first start off with the initial meet and greet. All the promises that I contracted for the wedding were not fulfilled. I had ordered a special light that would say the bride and grooms name with the date of marriage that had an outline of Cinderella's carriage to be shown on the dance floor during the entire event. I paid for it to be specially made. It was one of the first things that I discussed at my initial meet and greet. I was promised once I made my full payment that everything would be perfect. When entering the venue the special lighting that was supposed to shine on the dance floor was not there. When I first asked the DJ, Adam, he had ZERO clue about it. He called his boss, Jeff the owner, who had tried to explain that the light was stuck on a UPS truck... my contract was signed an ENTIRE year before the event. It was the lamest excuse I had ever heard! It ruined the ambiance that I was trying to create at the wedding. My next grievance will be the DJ Adam. Let's start with he got the bride and grooms last name wrong not once... not twice... not three times... but FOUR times after being corrected each and every time. We had said it each time the right way trying to correct him. By the way the last name isn't a difficult one. Then during the first dance of the bride and groom he was not prepared and didn't have the music ready to play. It took him over 5 minutes to find it since we have it time stamped as the bride and groom stood there anxiously on the dance floor waiting for the song to play in total silence in front of their entire family and friends. To keep going on this he was not a true MC. He stayed silent for the rest of the reception and played the worst music during our sit down dinner. It wasn't until I walked up to him and told him what to play that he changed the music. Let's not forget that I had gone through the music selection with 84 West Events on what to play and when to play it. It was like he was going through the CD 'Now party anthems' and legit pressed play. Now let's talk about photography. I was assigned Christian and I was told he was the best they had. A year before the event I booked both Adam and Christian because I was promised they were the best in the industry. My pictures are the worst photography I have ever seen. I did not get good family pictures, I didn't get any table shots, I didn't even get great bride and groom pictures. Not even sure how I am going to be able to create a book out of this. There were 980 photos and maybe 20 of them are useable. Bottom line I thought I was booking the best in town and I got the literal worst. A week after the wedding and after I calmed down from how upset and disappointed I was from the whole experience that was supposed to be one of the best days of my daughters life I walked back into 84 West Events to have a sit down meeting with the owner, Jeff. I did my homework and I did my due diligence and I ended up with crap. I walked into the owners office and he gave me every excuse under the sun. That 'things happen.' Its the only satisfaction that he thought he was giving to me. He didn't care how unhappy I was with his services. 'Oh well.' Is basically his attitude. Avoid this place of business at all costs. I spent a lot of time as a bride researching companies and taking the time to interview. this company has been by far my worst nightmare. I booked a multi-package of lights, photos, dj and video. Sure, they were very attentive and professional prior to wedding but.... I had a ton of issues once my event was over. the lights and DJ were fine, photographer did her job and delivered good photos/ captures. (After a lot of emails/phone calls back and forth finally received album). EXCEPT there was a disastrous, heartbreaking issue... they were never able to deliver video because of "technical difficulties" that were encountered during THE DAY of wedding and apparently there was no backup. I did not find this out until May, 9 months after wedding, because they simply ignored us and lied. The right thing to do would have been HONESTY, which your company lacks, and a sincere apology. We would still have been upset but we would have understood, accepted the apology and quickly moved on. What the company did was the exact opposite. They did not tell us anything was wrong. They ignored and did not respond to most of our emails and phone calls which is really the most infuriating part. The refund of video would never be enough to make up for the frustration and heartbreak. I have multiple emails contradicting the sincerity of this company (which would be glad to show but too long to add in here). what is UNFORGIVABLE were the repeated conscientious decision to deceive us and not tell us the truth from the time the company realized there was no video (which was as early as Oct 2013 when Jeffrey Greene promised delivery in 6-8 weeks). We are disgusted at how this company handles a rare mistake by making dozens more by ignoring the customer who is pleading for information for over 8-9 months. read more

84 West Studios is a big company that provides many severcies for social events. We recently used them for our wedding for photography, videography, dj and lighting. I will break it down by service. Photography- Our photographer was Mari and she was amazing! We first met her for our engagement picture session which came our beautiful. We took our pictures at The Railroad Museum and did a vintage theme. Mari was available to speak with me prior to the photoshoot and discuss all possibilities according to the theme I wanted. Mari provided us with a couple possible locations that would match what I was looking for and she did not disappoint. The pictures came out gorgeous and very unique! Everyone absolutely loves them. Additionally, I used the pics to create a sign in book for the wedding and Amanda did great work putting our album together. On the wedding day Mari took great wedding pictures and I barely even noticed she was around. She was really able to capture our special day in photos. There were a couple pictures that I really wanted that were never taken so I recommend sitting down with your photographer prior to your event and making sure they will capture all the pics you want. Overall my pictures were great. Videographer- Our videographer was a very nice guy. The day of the wedding he seemed to capture all the important moments but we have not seen our video yet so I can not write much more about the videographer. DJ-Our DJ was Adam and he did a great job. He is very nice and great on the microphone. He even got out on the dance floor and danced with the crowd. Great job getting the crowd up to dance. He played some songs we had mentioned prior to our event that we did not want him to play but it ended up working out because everyone was dancing to them so it really didn't bother us. I guess he was just reading the crowd. There was a little glitch that occurred with our first dance but it was resolved quickly. Lighting-This was the bad part! They were supposed to provide the uplights for our event and when we arrived to the reception the lights had not been set up. At this point the wedding planner called and found out that they had forgotten about our event. So you can imagine I got to the reception saw no lighting and began to cry it was very upsetting. We had to extend the cocktail hour in order to give them time to arrive and set up the lights. So pretty much my guests had to sit around for awhile just waiting. In the end they arrived and set up the lights very quickly and we were finally able to bring guests down for the dinner and party. They apologized after my event and said they just got caught up at another event but I know the truth and it was that they forgot about our event. So overall I had a good experience with everything except the lighting! read more

*** Destination weddings beware*** Initially excited but in end sadly disappointed. We came from Toronto, Canada for a nice destination wedding in south beach and was recommended by hotel employee so went with. Initial planning and photographers were great. After service was NOT! While the company rep indicated they had worked with people from outside the country before when we received the album we were billed $1100 in duties because of how the packing slip was issued. As I tried to resolve the issues I was told by 84west it was my fault as I should have known. Excuse me? You are the company who indicated had experience with this and I am a customer seeking advice and help. Strike one. In addition only the album was sent and not the accompanying prints that were in our package. So I asked them to send or provide refund. There was some initial confusion about what was in package but when receipt was provided they indicated they would send. Strike two. Went back and forth for several months with several different employees because of company turnover and after TWO YEARS of trying they kept indicating they would ship the outstanding pictures but never did. I hired 84 West Studios to do photography and videography for my wedding in September 2012. It is almost three years later and I have not received my video yet! The customer service with the company is the worst I have ever experienced. At one point I would call every week to get a status on my video. I spoke to the owner, Jeff, and his wife, Debbi. They hung up on me once, and later told me they would call me back in a week with answers and NEVER DID. I'm disappointed because I trusted them with the memories of a very important day and now I have nothing. Members of my family are getting married now and I would never recommend 84 West Studios. Even after paying thousands of dollars you would think they would have a heart and really make sure I felt that they were doing the best they could to give me the product that I paid for, but that was not the case. Lisa is wonderful and you will fall in love with their sales presentation but realize they outsource everything and can lose your photos. To work with this company you have to be comfortable with spending thousands of dollars and know you may never see your video. When I asked for a refund they never responded. I am still so disappointed I can't even begin to tell my story. I contacted 84 west studios over a year prior to my wedding. Honestly the only reason I went with them was due to Lisa because she made me feel so comfortable and that she would make sure my day was perfect! I had many talks with her prior to signing my contract with them and each time she made me feel confident about choosing them. Until the wedding day! The day that was suppose to be perfect! As my bridal party began to line up to walk in I am being asked questions about music that I shouldn't have been asked being I spent countless hours on 84 west planning tools making sure they had all the Music. I immediately got irritated asking my day of coordinator why are you asking me this 84 has all this info he then replies moments prior to me walking in we are looking up the songs on you tube which has me immediately lost and confused but the show had to go on.. once my ceremony was over I was slapped in the face with the news my DJ had not shown up and they couldn't get a hold of him. Mind you I also contracted 84 for video, photography, photo montage, photo booth, ambiance lighting, ceremony and cocktail music and our monogram. All services were there except one of the most important a DJ!!! As a company that prides themselves on being in business for x amount of years how weren't they on top of THEIR employees! As a business with so many years of experience how didn't you have a back up for a wedding DJ!! Thankfully due to my amazing venue he had contacts and was able to get us a DJ for the reception but we had to pay twice the amount due to 84 west Unprofessionalism and can you believe they didn't even reimburse me for the amount I had to pay the new DJ they just reimbursed me for what I paid them no extra nothing for the devastation or heartache they caused! Now here comes Monday and Lisa is I guess suddenly made aware of what occurred she immediately contacted me upset but honestly that didn't mean anything bc if ur clients truly mattered you would make sure the day of the event to check in with all employees and check their status to be able to stop issues such as these from occurring, She advised me the DJ had a seizure and was hospitalized but again where is the plan B everyone knows things can happen so why wasn't my wedding made a priority I mean I only spent over $7000!!!!!! With them. This will never be forgotten anytime I look back at my special day I will remember the heartache I was given and to make it even worse this was a destination wedding for me and my guest had to sit through no music an entire hour because of 84 west!!! Very disappointed with our entire experience. For starters there was no communication from anyone until a few days before our wedding. We finally reached our DJ, Neil, to discuss songs, procedures etc. We may as well not have because he only played one or two songs we requested before hand. We said not to take requests during the reception and he did the opposite, all night. He apparently told one of my groomsmen it wasn't his gig and didn't know what he was doing.. well that became obvious. Totally messed up our introductions, he botched names after writing all of them down (how does that happen?) dance floor was empty and it was just overall piss poor. We recently used 84 West to design a photo album. They are amazing! We called them based on a friend's recommendation and they got back to us right away. They worked hard to get the album to us in time for the holidays this year. We used another photographer for our event and some of the photos were a little dark, but 84 West was able to restore the photos and design a beautiful album for us. We loved it so much that we bought extra copies as gifts for our family. At first we were worried about the cost but they came highly recommended by our friend who had used 84 West for their wedding. The album has a real leather cover and the pages are really thick. It was definitely worth the cost, on top of having an actual designer make the book for us, it was a nice personal touch. Lisa and Debbi were both amazingly helpful about telling me the different options for the album, as well as how to get the images to them since we're not in the area. I was able to see the design before it was printed. I had a few changes I wanted to make and they took care of it right away. Adam was the DJ for my Oct. 4, 2014 wedding at The Riverside Hotel, and Victoria was my photographer. They both were AMAZING and I definitely would recommend them for any events. The dance floor was always packed, everyone had such a great time. And our photos were absolutely breathtaking. absolutely horrible! was supposed to meet with dj a week before the wedding, he was not there. he came 2 and a half hours late. I got a phone call during my rehearsal dinner the night before my wedding saying that they switched the dj's and now i cant have the dj i picked. I paid $200 extra dollars for lighting which i could bought myself for $30 at spencers. The owner Jeff green is a complete jerk off and did nothing but argue with us. We were rushed through the reception and i would never recommend this company to anyone!!! actually jeff, you are extremely unprofessional. You can lie all you want. I was quoted $650 for the dj and was basically pushed into getting the lighting that we were told was going to light up the ENTIRE room not just the dance floor. we ended up paying $850 so if you know how to do math the lights obviously costed more than $50. also we never came to the office, you mailed us a check and we never refused to see any contract. We NEVER said we liked the DJ we said we didnt even have enough time to do the toss of the garter because he was going to leave so we HAD to extend for an hour not 2. he even gave us a lesser price to extend because he knew we got screwed. Your speaking nothing but lies and you also raised your voice to my mother. Also he was definitely late to the event. he was told to come at 4;30 and arrived at 5pm, while i was trying to get ready for my wedding. do you think i want to deal with telling him what songs to play when that should have already been handled by the last dj who should have never scheduled to have teeth removed when he was scheduled for a wedding! You ARE a jerk and deserve to be called one if this is how you run your business! read more
