Ordered an iced lavender latte since it was a little different and loved it! Not a huge coffee gal so the taste definitely appealed to me - it definitely tastes like lavender and was on the sweeter side but it wasn't overwhelming. Drink itself looks bluish! read more

So I made the unfortunate decision of straying from my usual purchase. Typically, I get a vanilla latte here which is actually pretty delicious. No regrets there. However, today I decided to try something new. I bought their bodega breakfast sandwich and uncle paulie's deli sandwich. The bodega breakfast sad-wich was excessively dry and bland. $8.50 for dehydration. I took it home, toasted the bread with butter and added pesto & seasoning which improved it immensely. However, there was no saving Paulie's deli sadwich. It was just plain gross. Honestly, I'm no chef but there isn't rocket science involved in making a tasty sandwich. Not really worth the hype. The wait times are insanely long. We tried getting coffee twice and on the 1st day they told us it would be a 25 minute wait after we had already waited in line. We didn't have the time so we decided to pass. On the 2nd day we ordered online and came 30 minutes later to pick up the drinks. The vanilla latte that's much talked about is all right, nothing to write home about. I enjoyed it but I don't think I'd wait again. There are much tastier options close by. It's a really cute place, but honestly pretty bad experience. I do understand that due to covid the place is close to take the coffee inside the establishment and the fact that they are cashless, but as a tourist the fact that they don't even accept foreign cards is honestly awful. This Alfred's location is the best by far on the west side because of the seamless experience to grab the best Vanilla Iced Latte and walk down Abbot Kinney! As a fan of Alfred's, I was excited to hear about Alfred opening on Abbott Kinney! I went the other day for an Iced Oat Matcha Latte and it was delicious. I highly recommend!! Professionalism is not something that is focused on at this location. I was surprised by the attitude I received from a "Tyler" or "Taylor" when I was asking about the inconsistencies from each location. It seemed as if they got offended when I brought it up. Very surprised that they decided to open another location during the pandemic but I'm glad they did. All employees are wearing masks. There's also hand sanitizer and plexi glass in front of the counter where you order. So far I've tried their: - Matcha milk tea with boba. I like that there are milk alternatives and that their sweetness is adjustable. Their matcha is very strong, but not to the point that it's bitter. Their boba is also perfectly chewy and the texture has been on point both times I've ordered it. - Jasmine tea: this is their in house jasmine tea, it was very floral and the tea flavor was very robust. The lady at the counter was really nice, they usually only make it hot but she custom made it iced for us. - Plain croissant: definitely a step up above regular croissants! I liked the neat laminated layers and how soft it was on the inside. The croissant was also a little larger than I expected. - Rico breakfast burrito with bacon. This came nice and hot, I think they are all made to order. The tater tots in it made it a bit bland, but the salsa and cilantro cream provided went very well with it. I'm not a coffee drinker so I can't speak to their coffees but overall this is very welcome addition to Abbot Kinney. You can also order online but I think their online menu may be a little more limited than their in store menu. Prices are on the more expensive side. The only downside is that their hours are rather short (7am - 2pm Mon-Thurs, 7am - 5pm Fri-Sun) but I guess it will give me extra motivation to wake up early :) Overall I'd rate their drinks 4/5, but the service pushes them closer to a 5. read more

I live in the neighborhood and have tried all the coffee spots on Abbott Kinney. Even though they are the newest brew on the block, the staff at Alfred's bring a familiarity, genuineness and warmth to everything they do. Every time I come in, I am greeted by everyone from the cashier to the baristas. Everyone is passionate about what they do and the customer service is impeccable.
