We have been here several times and again we were not disappointed. We were there before closing time and Charlie was our server. What a doll. She kept checking on us. Tyler also came around and made sure to tell us they were a team and so everyone was making sure we were taken care of. We had bottomless drinks. The watermelon margarita was my favorite although they do charge an up charge for specialty drinks. We also had the mushroom pizza. Great flavors. We also did the ceviche which was delicious and fresh. We also ordered the tacos and the fish. No complaints all were very tasty. The following day we came in for Brunch. Liz greeted us and again we had Charlie as our server. Everyone here is constantly moving making sure you have everything. We had the Crab Benedict which is really a crab cake with and egg. So yummy. Also we ordered the French toast which was so so good. This place is a win win if you don't want boring food and great service. The ambiance outdoors is a nice touch. At night they have heaters so you're not too cold. We ate our food before I could snap any more pics.

Found Bacari PDR thanks to Yelp when I was looking for restaurants that would be on the way to the airport. Love the concept of small dishes so this place suited me perfectly. Tons of outdoor seating. The biggest downsides to this place are the parking (practically nonexistent, but the host will keep any eye out for you if you disregard the no parking signs and park on the hill by the restaurant) and the restrooms (tiny, dark, smelly, and feel like an outhouse). As for the food, there were hits and misses but overall it was quite good. Our favorites were the Asian pear and brie pizza (an unusual combo but it really worked), the glazed pork belly (practically melted in your mouth and so flavorful), the mac and cheese plus bacon (trust me, the bacon adds flavor and texture so it really shouldn't be optional), and the best cake plus ice cream (like a superb sticky toffee pudding). We loved how extensive their mocktail menu was, and they were quite accommodating in making changes that we requested. Dishes that were just ok for me were the fried chicken sliders and street corn. Nothing wrong with them, just not exceptional. The bread pudding and malabi were both good but paled in comparison to the best cake. The rainbow beets were a bit too vinegary/acidic for our taste. The scallop medallions and the sea bass both tasted a little fishy and not fresh, so I would probably recommend staying away from the seafood. Service was friendly and attentive at least in the beginning before they got busy. Once the place filled up, it could be difficult to get someone's attention, and I ended up having to ask a manager to expedite things for us so we could get my mom to the airport in time. All in all, though, I consider this a great find and would happily come here again to try more dishes.

Our servers were great. When they learned it was my birthday, they went out of their way to add to celebration my daughter planned. So many good plates. Beets, cigars, sea bass, salad, chicken Schwarma tacos. Fun tent by the beach. A plus Bacari PDR. May all who celebrate go.

Actually I love Bacari HH!! This location was actually the best experience I've had so far!! We went to celebrate a birthday and they had some champagne brought out for us which was so cute and special!! There was also warm dessert too which I think went above and beyond!! We sat underneath the tent and it was perfect at 5:15pm for the $2 off food and drinks! Very cute ambiance overall as there are lights and heaters too. Chicken schnitzel, mushroom pizza, steak, and burrata are some of my favorites!

Brunch vibes in Playa Del Rey. Went for a Sunday brunch - parking is a bit tough - street parking if you can find it. It was pretty packed - had an rsvp but still needed to wait another 10 minutes or so. Was eventually sat in the patio area - big issue we had was we were alongside the wall near the big street and there's no sun cover there. We were absolutely destroyed in the heat within the first 15 minutes. Not only was the sun bearing down, the glass railing felt like a magnifying glass. Ordered a few things: chilaquiles, cauliflower, shakshuka, French toast, and the beef bureka. Opted with just water as drinking any alcohol in the sun would have drained us a bit more. The chilaqquiles weren't very saucy - definitely more of a regular tortilla chip with some flavoring vibe. The cauliflower was tasty - a little bit of a kick - but was oversauced, probably needed to be a little less heavy handed with it. The shakshuka was pretty good - the spices along with well made eggs and fresh tomatoes hit well. The French toast was probably my fav - wasn't too heavy, had the crunch and was moist. The fruits on top gave it a fresh feel too. Def would recommend. The beef bureka was spot on as well - this is ground beef pastry with cabbage inside. Was on the lighter side but still had good flavor. Lightness preferred over the burek I'd have in the Balkans that are also delicious, but weighs you down a bunch. There was an issue with the egg however, there was a bit of the shell left on it. Overall - the food is a 4 but I think they need to remove the seating along the far wall unless it's a cloudy day - someone's going to get a heat stroke.

This was my second visit in a few years. Just so happened to be in the same area, so decided to run it back based on distant but fond memories. I really like the staff- unique group with good energy. The plates were nice, too. Good plating; good flavors. We got many: ceviche, falafel, bass, fries, steak and cake. Bests: bass and date cake. Not bests: ceviche and steak. Would recommend if you're in town. Two word review: Date Cake

I'm only in town for a week, but I want to come back tomorrow and try the whole menu! Food is served tapas style and brought out as prepared. ORDER THE SEABASS!!!! Matter of fact order 2! Crispy skin, flaky fish on a bed of tarragon aioli ! 10/5 Tripoline pasta: I'm not a high pasta girly. But the server kept saying it was his favorite when I would ask about others. So let's do it! 5/5. Not traditional flavor. The almond and cilantro with a tiny hint of spicy! Tuscan kale salad: 5/5 good! That's it that's all. Order it all! Heard another table telling another table they had to order the bread pudding. I was already busting out of my pants. Sooooo "Can I get it to go?" ...after getting back to my hotel, snuggled into bed to eat my dessert. I found a bowl of undercooked soggy white bread, not even a brioche, challah. This had to be made from wonder bread and regular milk not even condensed sweetened. Awful. Coziest patio with lots of heaters and smooth pop playing!

I finally got to try "The Best Cake" and it was fantastic, definitely the highlight of the night! The service was a little slow even though they weren't super busy, but the ambience is always nice, and the food was a little hit or miss (it really depends on what you order). The sea bass was good, but the Pear and Brie pizza was not very flavorful and pretty disappointing. The stuffed mushrooms were tasty, but they're a pretty small serving size. The dessert was the one truly great dish. Side note: parking can be tricky here, he usually you have to drive up the hill and park in the neighborhood and walk down a bit back to the restaurant.

Sea bass on the menu 10/10 . Loved it and of course had bacarita . Best watermelon margarita in town . Must try if you stop by . Can I say they have a really good tequila selections.Gio is a great bartender and had great knowledge on drinks and alcohol. He was very pleasant.

Close by to the beach so you still can feel the fresh air and breeze but not close enough for any nice view, the bathroom was extremely tiny but whatever the food was greattt! Literally everything was good the Mac n cheese I wasn't the biggest fan of kinda flavorless and and the only flavor I could rlly taste is bread but service was amazing I love the area and yesss

This was my second time visiting Bacari in Playa Del Rey and I was once again blown away! The atmosphere in this place is outstanding, from the gas fire lamps and string lights, to the throwback songs playing over the speakers and unbelievably accommodating waitstaff that brought us complimentary champagne with floating rose petals. You can't find a better spot to eat walking distance from the beach here! For the most memorable experience, I recommend arriving just before sunset to enjoy both the golden hour glow and the night time lighting in this outdoor space. Dishes are best split between a group of people so you can enjoy multiple items since they serve a more tapas style instead of a full meal per plate. We ordered the crudo to start, which was a significant amount of fish, thinly sliced and covered in a tart, lemon salsa that reminded me of the chunky texture of chimichurri, though not as oily. The thin slices of lemon on top added an extra pop of acidity with each bite that wasn't overpowering. We also enjoyed the crispy pork belly that was cooked in a savory, umami sauce until caramelized. The flavor went deep into the meat, so it was probably marinated for a long time as opposed to just tossed in a sauce at the end. It paired well with the large portion of mujadara lentil and basmati rice pilaf we ordered, though keep in mind this dish is extremely filling. The crispy shallots on top added a great contrast to the warm, creamy texture of the pilaf, and the lemon's bright flavor lightened the flavor palette despite the hardy ingredients. We even mixed some of the leftover pork belly sauce with the rice and it was delicious! For our veggie, we ordered the brussels sprouts, which were perfectly crispy all the way to the center, almost as if they were able to separate all of the layers for maximum crisp. The chipotle sauce on top was creamy and slightly spicy, but not overbearing. Sometimes restaurants make the mistake of drenching charred vegetables like this with too much sauce, but they nailed the proportions. Lastly for dessert we ordered the malabi, a rosewater custard with coconut, hibiscus, and pistachios. The custard wasn't overpowered by the floral flavor and the raw flakes were candied, so the coconut flavor really came out without needing to toast them. I also loved that the pistachios were whole instead of tiny pieces because it added a textural bite the dessert needed. My only note is that it would be even better if it had a wafer in it, whether a roll or pistachio wafers.

I've never been more disappointed in a burrito... this is LA, where you can throw a rock and hit a great burrito - whether it's from a stand, cart, truck, hole in the wall, or nice restaurant. The steak was gristly a greasy - so much so that the burritos had grease pools inside and were slick with grease on the outside. Grease was the only flavor - the steak was inedibly gross. That's not. No redeeming qualities. Bummer. Also it was very expensive - actually a few dollars more per burrito than what they had listed online - but whatever it's Westside LA in 2026. DELICIOUS food (kudos to the chef). Good portions for the price. Food takes time cause it's bomb. #DontRushGreatness. Wonderful staff! Would love if open more hours to resume fun events ex: wine tasting open mic??? more chargers needed, clean bathroom. Parking lot small and tricky. Please be careful on that intersection. Traffic lights are meaningless to some. Beautiful decor ! And they change the menu :-) Go there it's lovely. Tell your crew but keep it classy. THATS IT! Phew. NOW GET COZY AND READ ON IF YOU HAVE THE TIME: The owner and her staff are so kind warm and welcoming! I've been coming here for what feels like a year? You walk in and feel instantly relaxed from the decor. Think ; vacation spot , "White Lotus" season 1 and 2 vibes. TIMING: The morning time is really popular from what I hear and there is sometimes a line. However go between 11-2:30 (closing time) and very calm 90% of the time. If/When there is a line people are so nice! No joke! Maybe because it's not a place you rush things. Everything is made fresh so some dishes take a bit of time. So I suggest going when you are not in a hurry. Or order to go. AMBIANCE: If you are a music lover, and enjoy international grooves, a French radio station or playlist is always on. Plus it's different styles of French music! There was rap, hip-hop, jazz, alternative. So while in line you'll probably find yourself tapping your feet. I really like the booths for the privacy. When it's busy those go QUICK. The basket chairs look glorious but I haven't tried them yet. Not sure if they are still up. But one day I'll nest in there...one day. NOW THE FOOD! The menu changes every so often which is exciting ! If you are minding your dollars and cents it's a bit pricey. HOWEVER, the food is great quality and from the dishes I've ordered the portions are a good size #WorthIt. I like their coffee and that they have milk alternatives. And I appreciate the menu is not overwhelming. If there are condiments they don't carry (due to the authenticity of the restaurant) they always recommend something comparable as a substitute. RECOMMENDATIONS: I dislike eating breakfast when it's not time for it. But when I come here? It's on! The goat cheese omelette is fluffy and delicious!! I add chicken to it que magnifique! (Hope that's right as I'm not using Ai in this moment . Apologies if it's wrong corrections welcome #respect) They had a juicy burger and it was so good they run out of it pretty often. The lox bagel has a decent amount of lox! The home fries aren't greasy (great with avocado for some reason) Bannana Bread is so tastes and moist! It feels more like a cake. I'd buy the whole basket but that would be unfair to "the OTHERS..." Just kidding lol. The lemon squares are about to be my new addiction too. But they keep it real sometimes popular dishes run out. And that's ok, it's a boutique spot. It's also a mini-rush when you order a dish that's finally available lol. ADVICE: PURPOSE: I'd come here for a smoothy after a workout. Breakfast with peers or a more relaxed business mtg. if you're in an ASL (Or any group/team) club like I was this is a great place to meet. The light is fantastic! They have their own wiFii. CLEANLINESS/KIDS? Their bathroom is clean. Place is spotless. You might see a table with dishes to be cleared but it's never overwhelming or a bunch of tables in that state so, chill! I'm not sure I've seen a lot of families with kids in there. And I'm not sure if I saw a changing table. I have a 4 year old so I look at things like that but I know they'd be very accommodating. DRAWBACKS?: I've only seen one outlet over a booth in the middle? So make sure you are charged up or have a looong chord. They also close pretty early when I'm there at 2:30pm. CREATIVE PLANS FROM STAFF: However, one of the baristas shared with me they used to be open longer. But due to Covid it's been slow. So they adjusted the hours. They have lots of ideas if things pick up. And I think in the past they did wine tasting with selections directly from France! I think they could have a fabulous open mic poetry night. Maybe even a small live band every so often. Game night classy style? hehe. If they allowed the tables to be moved I'd do an art premiere there! No joke #Ideas. YOU, yes you: Step one? Get more awesome people to adore this place like I do. So check it out! Enjoy the food and ambiance and the kindness. I'll see you at the open mic wish I could add a pic but maybe next time!

The last time we were here, it was during a busy lunch and both the service and the food were below par. But tonight, it wasn't as busy and our server, Geovani, was excellent. First, we were quickly greeted and asked to select our table (since they were not that busy). Since there was only two of us, we picked a table for two. But, after we decided that we would split an appetizer and an entree, the table for two became way to small way too quickly. Geovani jumped right on this, suggesting we move to a larger table. He helped us move everything over and, voila, we were able to stretch out and relax and enjoy our meal. We started with the pear and blue cheese salad and, wow, we could have just ordered this, split it, and we would have been full. Very flavorful, generous portion that is definitely big enough to share. We also ordered the Sausage & Leek Fettuccine and I was definitely not thinking. Totally forgetting that leeks are part of the onion family (and I have a sensativity to onions). Once the dish arrive, I immediately noticed the similarity and was slowly trying to pick them away from my portion. Once again, Geovani came to our rescue. He asked how everything was and I told him I made a mistake (noted above). He quickly volunteered to have the kitchen make it again without the leeks. I asked, "Are you sure?", and he immediately said yes and removed the dish. Very shortly after, he returned with the "onion sterile" dish and it was wonderful. Both of us were so full you could have rolled us out the door. Good thing the parking garage is so close so we could just hop in our car and go home. Time to loosen the belt! ;) In a week where we have had some personal issues, it was so nice to be treated so well and received such a great tasting meal. Hope you get the time to stop in and I hope you get Giovani to answer all your questions and issues. Enjoy!!!

There is a free parking lot attached in the back otherwise street parking is also easy to find. Inside is pretty large, they have many different sized tables and service here is always very fast. They also have a very large menu so you can always find a different great option each time you stop in. For this most recent order I chose the Marinated Steak Benedict and added avocado and really loved it. It is actual steak, which was seasoned and cooked perfectly. It really had a lot of flavor and I enjoyed every part of it. I also appreciated how the side of fruit had a lot of watermelon and pineapple because so many other places just throw you all the cantaloupe and melon. I did feel the latte was a little bit watered down and wish it would've been stronger but overall it was a great meal and I would suggest if you are in the area or going to be passing through.

The service was fast but not rushed. Immediately about to sit and put my bags down the server already dropped a menu off and a glass pitcher of water. The menu was pretty extensive but I went with the tuna melt and BOY it did NOT disappoint. The tuna melt was incredible. The flavor was on point, pretty hardy. I got the choice between fries or fruit and got the fruit. I don't think the sandwich took more than 10 minutes to get out. Fresh and hot. Had two cups of coffee, kind of wish I got something from the baristas- the drinks looked fantastic. 10/10 would go back. I wish I would've taken a picture but honestly was way too hungry to remember. Must try!!

It's become one of our go-to breakfast spots. My usual order is the pancakes, bacon, and eggs. The pancakes are big, fluffy, and definitely filling. My favorites are the chocolate chip pancakes and the banana pancakes. One of my friends always orders the shrimp and grits, and on our most recent visit another friend tried the shrimp omelet and really enjoyed it. They also have mimosas, which are a nice treat after a long shift. The staff is always friendly, and despite how busy it can get, the service has been consistently good. The restaurant can get pretty crowded, but since we're usually getting off work, we arrive around 8 a.m. and don't have much trouble getting seated. The only downside for me is the pricing. Breakfast here isn't cheap, but I will say that I always leave full and satisfied, so the portions definitely help justify the cost. Overall, if you're looking for a solid breakfast spot with generous portions, good food, friendly staff, and a lively atmosphere, I'd definitely recommend giving this place a try.
